I was staying nearby Soco and wanted to get some brunch. We were able to walk in and find a table easily. It was not packed on a Sunday afternoon. The waiter greeted us and gave us some great suggestions on what to order. I decided to go with the Crispy Fried Chicken and French Toast. It comes with pumpkin seed granola, bourbon maple syrup, and chantilly cream. To drink I ordered the Kentucky Cooler which comes with Kentucky bourbon, borghetti espresso liqueur, iced coffee and buffalo trace cream. The Kentucky Cooler came out first which was nice. I wanted a caffeine boost in the morning so I was craving this. There was a very strong portion of alcohol. I was not used to a strong amount of alcohol early in the morning but I adjusted. The chicken and french toast came out after that. The plate is very hot which I mistakenly touched and burned myself slightly. I waited for everything to cool down before eating. The portions were generous. The mixture of fried chicken and sweet maple syrup is definitely an interesting taste in my mouth. I was about to go for the breakfast tacos but this was a great alternate option. I saw people ordered the French Toast Tower which gives you several options of french toast. In addition there is a bacon flight with berkwood, wild boar, benton, and candied applewood bacon. If bacon is your preference and you want to try different options this would be a good choice. Overall I had a good time here and would come again.

Had brunch at Soco today. We love this restaurant but rarely get downtown. We started with the bacon flight and breakfast shot. So yummy! My bestie drank the shot and said, "what kind of sorcery is this?!" It tasted just like a pancake with bacon. Would definitely get again. Next up... mac and cheese for the table. Delicious. Finished with wedge salads. While a salad sounds simple, this was so good! Like the best BLT you've ever had without the bread. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because we were there early for our reservation and they took a few tables before us because a woman came in with her kids and just went and sat at our table in the bar area. Not the fault of the restaurant and they did ask her to move but with the comment "oh they're sitting at your table". The guests probably didn't need to hear that. The restaurant is lovely, clean and modern. Our server was awesome. Looking forward to returning for that salad again!

Like everyone else I am here to rave about the chicken and dumplins and biscuits! I was incredibly surprised! These are not your average dumplins. Beautiful mushroom sauce and lots of stuffing inside! Appreciated that the wine list had an Alexis wine as well! The service was friendly and warm and was easy to get a spot at the table even on a Saturday night!

Stopped by here for brunch with some friends and was a little disappointed... The service is amazing and I liked the atmosphere. Very cozy and inviting! However the food itself didn't hit with any of us really ): The menu is interesting and has lots of variety, but all of our dishes were severely undersalted. The biscuits and gravy had no salt except for in the sausage, and my eggs Benedict had a lovely textured hollandaise but lacked flavor. Everything had such a great base just needed some seasoning! Overall we did enjoy our visit just were a little disappointed in the flavors for the price point.

My first time experience was very good for brunch. The atmosphere and customer service were amazing and attentive. Food came out hot fresh and cooked to order. I had the breakfast tacos, which was unique because the biscuit was the shell which made this a creative and tasty dish. It had great texture as well . The bacon flight was definitely an experience and I actually never had a flight of anything before, but this was enough for two people to experience. There are quite a few signature dishes on the menu, which would have me coming back again!

Delicious-ness includes the bar, staff and ambiance. Best espresso priced martinis in the area if that's your vibe. And here's to my yummy gin custom cocktail.

Pros: Absolutely beautiful space in a beautiful part of downtown Orlando. Really a luxurious feeling setting. They had a biscuit platter, with delicious biscuits and many spreads to choose from. This is my favorite brunch thing. Food was delicious. Their apps are very sharable, so get plenty for the table. Cons: The service was pretty good, but the kitchen did the thing where they sent out an entrée without the main protein on it, as it was finishing cooking. Tips: Get the biscuits and the spreads! One of the best parts of the meals for me. I would skip the Soco-Style "Chicken and Dumplings". It just doesn't work.

I came here with some friends for a nice brunch one Saturday morning recently. We had our reservations, got seated, and got to work. Beautiful space right down the street from the beautiful Lake Eola. Service was impeccable. Server was a little odd, but I like odd ones. Overall, we were very well taken care of. We started off with a biscuit platter with some biscuits, three spreads, some butter. It was great! Warm, tender, flakey biscuits. Each spread was a huge pop of fruit flavor and the butter was room temperature, as it should be, and was very buttery. Then came the Soco-Style "Chicken and Dumplings" (Chicken Breast, Lobster Dumplings, Local Mushrooms, Edamame, Soy Butter). Very interesting dish. The dumplings were very delicious with the succulent lobster within, the umami from the mushrooms was good, too. Solid, but a lot of softness. I would have liked to see something even a little crunchy. Thenn came the "Southern Style" Eggs Benedict (English Muffin, Fried Green Tomato, Benton's Country Ham, Creole Hollandaise). Another solid dish. Crisp and well-cooked tomato. I wanted a little more oomf from that Creole hollandaise, but I know they have to appeal to the mass audience. Finally was the Chicken -N- French Toast (Maple Sorghum Butter, Almond Granola, Pink Peppercorn Whipped Cream). Every component of this dish was done and out to me, except the chicken. They were still cooking it while I was watching my whipped cream melt on my French toast. Lol. Overall, this place was pretty good. A few missteps here and there, but if you book brunch here, you will have a good time!

5 stars for brunch. Everything we had was really really good - the "bacon, egg and cheese" shrimp & grits, crispy fried chicken and French toast, and especially the Soco style chicken and dumplings! We walked in on a Saturday afternoon in November and it seemed pretty lively, but we were able to be seated immediately outdoors. Service was friendly too.

We always enjoy coming to Soco. It's a bit of a drive but always worth it. The ambience is one of the nicest in downtown Orlando. It feels very clean and sophisticated. The food options, presentation and quality are great. We've been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. They also have a variety of options, ranging from southern staples to healthier options, and everything in between. I really appreciated their mocktail menu. And then the service is consistently great. We will keep coming back to support as we love Soco!

The ambiance was perfect for work networking gathering . The servers were friendly and attentive: The three course meal came out very timely and was savory. From the appetizers to the dessert ... it was perfect !!

Totally impressed with this little spot. Stopped in while out and about and it was the perfect date night dinner. Our waiter was nice and attentive. We sat outside and it's a cozy spot to watch the world go by. Every dish that we tried was delicious! We plan to return.

Do you have to have reservations?

I would recommend it for any busy times, you can sit at the bar with no reservations but that isn't always guaranteed

Can somebody respond to their efforts for safe dining during Covid? Servers/hostess wearing masks, sanitizing tables, etc. Thank you!

Yes. All of those. Menus thrown away after each use. Very careful. More than most restaurants I have been in. And the food is amazing.

    How much is bottomless mimosas?

$15 and worth every penny if you do it right.

Are there any vegan brunch options?

There is a vegetarian option. The Soco Cauliflower “Steak” - Asparagus, Artichoke, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Vine Ripe Tomato Gravy.

Is there a Saturday brunch and if so what are the costs, drink specials, and are reservations available?

Yes they have brunch Saturday and Sunday starting at 11, definitely make a reservation! If you don't have one they usually have a wait for walk ins or you can eat at the bar. They offer bottomless mimosas, I'm pretty sure for $15. It's a great… Read more

The ambiance and feel of the bar is very "sultry" and "intimate." The mood lighting, dark paneling/interiors paired with the bar itself being lit to be the center of attention, lends itself to the secretiveness and LURE that a modernized speakeasy would provide. I truly enjoy stepping foot into this little hidden, but NOT so hidden, gem (which can be accessed from the interior to Talay). Service can be slow at times - especially when they are busy. However, the staff is usually always gracious, helpful, and willing to serve. The few great mixologists I've met there have also been very willing to break down how they make their drinks and really give us a glimpse into their world. So, I'm appreciative of that. That is not something that you can always expect at bars. As for the drinks (and food I'll glaze over), I am usually not left disappointed. I appreciate that seasonally they play with their drink menu and introduce new cocktails. I also love a handful of their signature drinks on the menu. This may be the only bar I've had a drink with Aperol in it that I actually ENJOYED (and not tolerated). The pricing can get high depending on what you order, but for the area and the going rate of a night out, they hold their own. Definitely don't pop into Noir if you are looking for an AFFORDABLE cocktail experience because the tab will creep up on you. The food is OKAY. They share a kitchen with Talay and offer some items not on the Talay menu - which is nice. However, I rarely eat when I visit, so the few times I have, it's been okay. Nothing to truly brag home about. I am happy, though, that they did start offering food because in the very beginning (when they first opened), that was not an option. Anyways, Noir Bar is GREAT (to me)! I will keep coming here and recommending it to others. It's also great for a date night or night out with your friends. It's in a decent location - but please take heed of parking in this area, as it can be challenging to find FREE street parking. However, there is parking available all around and in various garages nearby.

Real good vibes. Orlando obviously has no shortage of places to eat, drink, and gather, but Alfie's belongs to that rare category of venues that feel equally at home in a major metropolis. It's the kind of spot that would fit seamlessly into Los Angeles's best neighborhoods: think Gold Line in Highland Park or the Vinyl Room at the Hollywood Palladium. Not because they're carbon copies, but because they share that intangible quality of genuine discovery and cultural curiosity. The crowd ( age range 25 - 35 mostly ) was genuinely engaged with one another. People were actually talking, actually present, not hunched over their phones. That alone felt invigorating. There was an undeniable spark in the room. Alfie's wasn't chasing trends; it was simply allowing them to emerge naturally. What impressed me most was how they brought it all together .. Retro stereo equipment and vinyl players from the 50s mixed with a bar area that's super sleek and modern. Conversations, music, the lounge itself .... all came together in a way that felt alive and IN THE MOMENT. When my LA friends visit, Alfie's is on the list. Go after 9 or 10 PM and plan to stay for at least two hours. That's when you really see the scene develop and come alive. Bring your ID: they card at the door. Even at my age, I still get carded. It evokes another era, the 1930s and 1940s, a hidden place where people escaped reality for a few hours and where every whispered conversation felt a little more dangerous than it should. There is something about saying the name out loud that feels almost mischievous. Even before stepping inside, it conjures images of old Hollywood glamour, forbidden romance, and the kind of longing that filled classic films. The sort of place where people met not because they had to, but because they couldn't stay away. The space itself more than lives up to the promise of its name. Death in the Afternoon is one of the most visually interesting places Orlando has to offer. It feels intimate, mysterious, and wonderfully removed from the ordinary. I couldn't help but think of The Great Gatsby, not because of excess or extravagance, but because of that same sense of romance, possibility, and yearning for something just out of reach. In fact, I visited twice in the same afternoon. My first stop was simply to satisfy my curiosity and see if the reality matched the image I had built up in my head. It did. So after completing the rest of my three-hour Mills 50 walk, I found myself drawn back for a meal and a chance to enjoy the atmosphere a little longer. The menu is limited, so choose wisely. The salmon entrée was excellent and easily the standout of my meal. The Caesar salad was pleasant enough, but the salmon is what I would come back for. As a perfect ending to the day, a dear longtime Yelp colleague joined me and we spent some time catching up on the latest news and gossip in our circles. Good conversation, a memorable meal, and an atmosphere that feels like it belongs to another time. Death in the Afternoon is not just a restaurant. It's the kind of place that stays on your mind long after you've left. Make sure your stay is not over 2 hours tho ..

This is not a sports bar, and I specifically chose it for a date because I expected a more relaxed atmosphere. Once the match ended, things improved and we could finally talk, but the place is still very loud overall. The cocktails were pretty basic, especially for $16 each. They weren't bad, but they lacked any creativity or presentation to justify the price. We sat at the bar, and I have to say the service was good. One more downside: there's no self-parking, only valet. It's $5, which isn't terrible, but it's still an inconvenience. Overall, the atmosphere felt too chaotic for what I was expecting, and I wouldn't come back.
