We had a coworker birthday celebration in the office and while calling around, I found my request for tres leche cake to be too expensive almost $100 to feed 15-18ppl. I called Sofia Bakery and thankfully they gave me such a good quote and to feed about 20ppl per my request, I had to do it! I ordered the white plain tres leche cake since I made my own cake toppers. Saved money and came out great Please note upon calling for ordering, they do speak Spanish and little English. We were able to work together to get my order in since I don't speak full Spanish myself. But she was very patient and understanding. They were able to accommodate my request for picking up early morning and made sure I was okay with the process since they usually have pick ups handled after a specific time. The cake itself was delicious and enjoyable and for the price, I'd do it again and refer them out. My friend who picked up the cake for me did mention, it was a little sketchy to pick up and the front counter wasn't aware of what she was asking. All in all; it worked out in the end and they had my cake available. read more

This place is so unprofessional they make mistakes and they don't want to fix it . I order a bread a certain way and they accepted my order made me pay through the phone ..The next day I pick up my order and the bread is old I am pregnant I can't eat something not fresh .. I asked to replace my order not the money and refused to . They want me to pay again for them to remake my order the way I wanted it in the first place! read more

Recommended by a mexican friend, this is great place to get some delicious tres leches, Conchas, pan fino etc. Expect a line in the mornings, and the staff may or not speak English so good place to exercise your Spanish language skills. read more

Nice neighborhood bakery , good selection of breads and cakes. We bought a tres leches cake but sadly this cake was too too sweet. This is something someone who is diabetic my want to keep in mind. It was a well made cake but could barely finish my piece. The other people also did not like the cake for the same reason. Hope they can fix this problem. I will come back and try something else another time. read more

I actually found this spot from a TikTok recommendation and had to check it out for myself. I ordered their conchas and a HorchataChino. The conchas were super soft, fresh, and had just the right amount of sweetness--definitely lived up to the hype. The HorchataChino was such a fun twist, creamy with that perfect blend of coffee and cinnamon. Cozy little spot with great flavors, and I'm glad TikTok led me here! read more

My one and only bakery of choice for Mexican bread! They have the best Mexican bread, always so good and fresh baked! Luckily the times that we go there is no line but it does get filled up and a long line always forms behind us. We love to get the chilindrinas, rebanadas, tortugas, elotes and cuernos. They even have tortas which we have also ordered and those are good as well. If your looking for Mexican bread this the place for you! read more

Terrible service, don't order from this bakery if you don't want your event ruined. I placed an order for a custom cake for my daughter's birthday, I paid via phone with my card. When I went to pick up the cake, They had me waiting for over 30 min just so they can tell me that the baker is off and that my cake isn't done. They provided no solution, and I had to go back another day for the reimbursement because the manager was not there. If I could give zero stars I would. Order your cakes elsewhere. read more

The bread is still as tasty as always BUT it WAY SMALLER AND WITH A MUCH BIGGER PRICE! I understand that the prices in everything like eggs has gone up but dang at least keep the bread pieces at a somewhat same size because we the customers are also feeling the economy crisis. read more

I was looking for pan de muerto in June for my daughter's school project. When I reached out to the Sofia's bakery staff they were very responsive and accommodating. While I didn't personally do the pick up, there were no issues and the bread was delicious. Can't wait to try some of their other breads. read more

By far the best bakery!! You can taste the freshness and quality of their products. I drive 10+ miles just to get bread. I've never had a bad experience nor my family or family. I had a chat with the baker and he asserted my suspicion of them using quality products. The only downfall is that they constantly change or need cashiers. Most look miserable but it does not affect how I feel about the bread read more

I ordered a Marble cake for my sons birthday(8/5) and it was so so so delicious!! Everyone loved it and im still thinking about it to this day. I was nervous because a lot of bakeries make Marble cake differently. I'm so glad I came here. I ordered the top sheet online and the baker put it on nicely and added the red border to complete the look. The cake was for Saturday and on Sunday I returned and ordered a vanilla round cake for my church group. It was alright, it wasn't as sweet and I wouldn't order it again for my preference but they liked it. But man the marble one was amazing!! The only bad thing is they don't sell the round one in marble flavor. I definitely recommend this bakery! And I will definitely order again for future events. read more

My parents use to come here when it was Mima's. My dad was a regular & always talked it up as the best pan dulce in the area. I hadn't been here in a few years. Not impressed. I came to order a Rosca. UNBELIEVABLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Seriously not one of the ladies were pleasant. Their prices are completely inflated. $35 for small rosca; $57 for medium rosca. WTH?!?! I was told on the phone a $20 deposit was fine & pay the balance when I picked it up. The story changed from the time I hung up to the time I walked into the bakery to $30 deposit. The line was long. One cashier that took forever to cash out customers. Three other workers walked around rolling their eyes at customers coming in, offered no help. Regretting I'm even giving this place business, not worth it. There are plenty of other bakeries that have better service & much better tasting bread. read more

Sofia's Bakery is a good spot to get really cheap and tasty Mexican pastries. There are so many options to choose from, and everything is generously sized. Aside from pastries, there are custom cakes and a few lunch options. I have only gotten pastries here. Some of the staff members are bilingual while some do not speak much English at all. Regardless, it is not hard to order. Make sure to bring cash as this is a cash-only place. Parking is available in the small lot. Unless you are having a hard time deciding on what to get, you will be in and out quickly. read more

Bought 5 quesadillas (Mexican sweet bread) and 3 had mold on the bottom and sides. It was hard to see with the wrap on, but not a good sign. Another example of a small business focusing on too many products and losing the good old quality over quantity philosophy. Such a shame, this was the spot! read more

We ordered a cake days in advance and paid in full! They took our money and left us with no cake, they had no common courtesy to contact us and tell us that they didn't have a cake made for us. They had us waiting over 2 hrs for a cake they never made and we drove 2 hours in traffic to this place. The so called manager over the phone and all the employees and this place were just unprofessional. If you want Sofia's bakery to ruin any special occasion and steal your money then choose this place. I'd go to another bakery with better service! The price for the cakes they make have gone up so much and the cakes keep getting smaller and with the terrible service, our family will never return. Rather make the drive to Porto's where they actually service and don't steal your money and leave you without a cake. Shame on you!! read more

Came here for a custom cake for my boyfriend's birthday and was more than satisfied with the result. I ordered an 8" tres leches cake with whipped cream frosting and topped with a custom fondant design for about $50. I was in a bind to find a last minute bakery that could still take custom orders and they were able to make this cake less than 48 hours after I ordered it. Ordering the cake was probably the most difficult part since they only allowed me to make a morning appointment for the cake consultation. It was well worth it because the cake was delicious and turned out even better than the picture I gave them for reference. I will definitely be placing future cake orders here! read more

My sister's BF was craving churros but we couldn't find a place close enough to the airport so we ended up here. None of us were very experienced with the different types of mexican pastries so we spend a good 20 minutes drilling the girl behind the counter about the different types of pastries they had. We all ended up ordering several and everyone enjoyed what they got. One of the girls who works there was soo rude. I don't know her name but she is young. I asked for a chocolate bar and she gave me a round donut. I said nicely I asked for a bar, which my mom also asked for so we told her TWICE! And she gave such a nasty attitude saying you asked for a round donut, I did not. I never ask for that. She was so rude. She was rude to a customer in front of us as well. If you're gonna have a nasty attitude towards customers then DONT WORK THERE!!!! read more

Mmmm mmmm mmmmm!!!! This bakery is to die for! All of their sweets are heavenly. Whenever I have a chance I swing by this place. They have an outside patio where you can enjoy your pan con cafe. My favorite are their guava and cheese pastry. I usually order two of these and a strawberry milkshake. I have to say that there are a lot of bakeries around the area. But Sofia's is the one to choose. They are located in Inglewood right behind Melo's burger. It really is a hidden gem. It is a bakery like no other. The place is always tidy and they have great customer service. There's plenty of parking too. This place has my upmost recommendation! read more

Fantastic! There is no shortage of good panaderias in the LA region, but they might very well be my favorite. The conchas are perfectly soft and the pan de muerto tastes like heaven. Everything is also reasonably priced. I have no doubt I'll be back for all my pan dulce needs. Oh, and that arroz con leche looked pretty special too. read more

The turtle slice was delish. I will say, these cheesecakes remind me of what Cheesecake Factory has going on. I do not know if I will return. I prefer to deal with friendlier people. Why am I spending my money on sour customer service? I wanted to try them and i did. Enough said.

I am not a sweet fiend, I am more of a savory guy and I was more than happy with everything that I sampled. The breads contained no added sugars and the pastries were lite on sugar and glaze. The flavors were honest and pure. My favorite of the bunch was the chocolate croissant. It was flakey, buttery and filled with the most delightful dark chocolate morsels; not too sweet, not too bitter just pure goodness. It paired well with my coffee, but should pair equally well with a glass of milk. Heck, all this talk has got me hungry for another one!!! Lastly, I respect and appreciate a company that stands behind their product (no compromise). Again, everything is certified organic and the dough is slow fermented (30 hours). This process enhances flavor, texture, digestibility for the gluten sensitive, better bioavailability of nutrients and enhances shelf life without adding preservatives. Finally, the young lady at the counter was super pleasant, knowledgeable and caring. I managed retail for nearly 20 years and I know good customer service when I see it and you will find none better than at Frogs. I will certainly be back to sample the rest of the menu.
