Nothing about Sofie's says steakhouse except the sign. It's more of a sports bar that offers steaks. We have been twice and do not enjoy the cooked food. The salads are fine however. From the dirty paper menus to the sticky tables, it doesn't scream clean, and there isn't much of a vibe from the layout or decor. Lots of TVs is nice for watching games, but the TVs are all different colors, so you better know your team's logo! Service was underwhelming, but it is everywhere "due to COVID" so I won't fault them for bringing out the wrong items and taking forever to serve us, though when I was a server, I absolutely took advantage of notes, and I promise on the other side, patrons don't mind! The patio looks like a fun place to watch a game and have a beer if you need somewhere on this side of town to be social and grab a cold one, but be aware that smoking is allowed on the patio. read more

I had high hopes for this place. Visited during football season on a Saturday afternoon and there were only 9 people. The hostess was really sweet. They were very attentive to the handful of guests there. The banging shrimp was well seasoned and tasted great. The lump crab cakes were bland as well as the veggies. The food overall was forgettable. The owner needs to determine the identity of this place. What do you want to specialize in? Is it sports bar or a steakhouse? Bland is all i can say. Had mashed potatoes, seasonal veggies (squash, zucchini, green and red peppers). My fiancé had the blackened chicken pasta. Mashed potatoes had no taste, veggies were seasoned but a word mix, and the crab cakes were okay. My fiancés pasta had no taste, chicken was dry, and it came with one of the rolls that were previously frozen. Super subpar and not worth the money. Waiter was nice but after you get your food it'll take a while to get your check so you can leave. I'm dissatisfied with the food. Ambiance is weird. Good music but it's a sports bar/steakhouse mix. Young lady greeted us and asked if we had a reservation... meanwhile they have 2 people in the restaurant... we were asked where we'd like to sit and then told to just pick a table. We had to ask for utensils and napkins. I ordered a steak salad with ranch.. had to remind her I needed my dressing. I usually keep my opinion to myself but here it goes....save your money! We had steak, crab cakes and calamari. It was awful. The steak had zero flavor, crab cakes gross, and the calamari looked like large onion rings. I much rather of had onion rings than this calamari. Very disappointing. We ordered the cheese pizza, pork chop with risotto and spinach, Caesar salad, and blackened chicken pasta. What a huge disappointment. The only thing that was as expected was the Caesar salad!! The risotto tasted like some sort of alcohol, the spinach had zero seasoning, the cheese pizza was weird with the cheese. The pork chop tasted like burnt pork. Absolutely no seasoning or brining involved. The blackened chicken pasta was a pasta with a weird Alfredo sauce that tasted like water!! The chicken not bad but not great. It definitely felt like a sports bar vibe. Lots of TVs and very loud! I will never go back as the food was really bad! Hate to spend 80-100$ and feel this way. Such a bummer! We visited this restaurant (questionable) tonight. There was an event a comedy show.which was supposed to start at 8pm. That should've been the first clue. We arrived at 7:30. We thought we would be seated have a chance to eat dinner before show started. Ah no! We stood there waiting to be seated. People were walking in seated and there we stood. After a while we just sat ourselves. After this getting someone to serve our table was a joke. Second clue. We finally got a menu no utensils , napkins. We took them from another table. What? We ordered a chicken sandwich and a Shrimp burger. Along with a water with lemon and iced tea. When waitress brought drinks it was two waters and a lemon in a napkin!?. I'm like ok, I was told she's tired don't be mad. Alright my they're right so I'll just suck it up. she brings the chicken sandwich. And tells me it'll be a few more minutes for the burger. This should be clue 3. The Fries with the chicken were cold and boiled in oil! Disgusting. My shrimp burger finally comes. The fries were a salt lick but at least hot. The burger was a whole other story. It was raw and tasteless! And no signs of a shrimp in site! I started to feel sick. I told the waitress it was raw. She took it away and asked if I wanted another. I said no I'm feeling nauseous. By this time the show still had not started it's 9:30pm. 15 mins later we left. Oh I did not pay for that gelatinous muck of a shrimp burger. My friend and I decided we deserved a night out and wanted to go to dinner. Being ladies of a certain age, we thought we'd try going early, since it was a Friday night and we assumed Sofie's would be crowded later on. Upon our arrival we were greeted warmly by a lovely young lady, and seated at a booth, which I normally don't like, but the ones there are super roomy and comfortable. The young lady who welcomed us did a good job of waiting on us, although we had the feeling she was rather new at serving. The menu was interesting, I would think almost anyone could find something that appealed. Both of us had the same thing, steak that came with a salad and a big baked potato for a very reasonable price.. Everything was good, but we both felt that the steak was under seasoned, and the sauce accompanying it was tasty, but we would have appreciated more. We asked for extra butter for the potatoes, and it was delivered quickly and with a smile. The place never did fill up as we had hoped, since we both want to see new restaurants succeed, especially with the whole COVID thing taking its toll on business in general and restaurants in particular. Hopefully more people will discover Sofie's Steakhouse and cooler weather will bring customers to what looked like a nice outdoor eating area.. We will certainly be back.to try it. read more

My girlfriend and I went to Sophie's two weeks ago after getting a massage across the street. My experience was so terrible, I kept saying I'd leave a review but did not have the chance to do so. So here goes. I understand almost everywhere is short staffed so I will not knock points off because of this. The REAL problem was the food. I order calamari which was seasoned well but it was served with "MARINARA" oh wait never mind I meant to say Ragu sauce because that my dead Watson was not marinara. For my main dish I ordered the trout which came with a mushroom risotto which I was extremely excited about. Welp, I shouldn't have been it was extremely salt, mushy, and the cheese in it tasted old. I am a cheese lover so I know what old almost moldy cheese taste like. My girlfriend who is a chef co-signed on this as well. The trout was also salt and what every cream and cheese was used in the risotto was also used on the trout. I could not eat the food and did not send it back or ask for my money back and I truly wish I did. But wait there's more when my girlfriend asked what kind of noodles came with the Cajun pasta the hostesses who was our server had not clue. My girl asked if they had fettuccine noodles the hostess said no. When the food came out guess what guys it was made with fettuccine noodles. Needless to say we will not be going back. There is so much more to say but I shall leave it at that. read more

One Star is to much. The service and the owner are both horrible. The owner is so disrespectful to his employees and to his patrons. They were not busy and there was no reason that our experience was this bad. The CRAB DIP has SHRIMP in it and it's not label that it's has shrimp a person in my party who ordered it is allergic to SHRIMP. The owner didn't care say yeah I guess I need to update the menu. After driving by Sofie's Steakhouse many times we decided to try it out, and to say I was not impressed is an understatement. When we arrived to the restaurant around 7PM on a Saturday night there were roughly 10-15 people at the restaurant, mainly sitting at the bar. I found this to be odd given that the restaurant advertises as a premium steakhouse and upscale restaurant, since other steakhouse restaurants are nearly impossible to make reservations same day. After sitting down is when things really began to go down hill. We sat at the table without menus for about 10 minutes, and then waited another 5 or so minutes for the server to return to take our appetizer/drink order. At this point we're confused as the music is loud, and not what a "premier" or "upscale" restaurant is typically. We ordered the Bangin Shrimp appetizer, which was $15.00, and it was 8 shrimp that were simply just battered served with a mayonnaise/ketchup sauce. The menu stated that the sauce would be a "sweet chili aioli," which clearly it was not. In addition to the appetizer we ordered a beer and the Underground Heat cocktail, which was absolutely delicious, I ended up ordering two! After the appetizer we went ahead and ordered the $30.00 Prime Ribeye (medium rare), and the $32.00 8oz Fillet (medium rare). These two entrees come with a baked potato, and salad. Sadly, the ribeye and fillet were sent from the kitchen first, and then 5 or so minutes later the salads arrived at the table. At this point I cut into my fillet and noticed my fillet was well done instead of medium rare as I had ordered. The ribeye was beyond burnt as well. I return the fillet as it's way over cooked, and it looks as if it was a different cut of meat. At this point the manager/owner comes over from the bar, where he's been drinking from the time we sat down at our table (high top table beside the bar). He at this point tells us how his chef has been with him for 10 years, the meat is cut in-house, how meat loses color after it's cut, etc. I appreciate that he came over and talked to us about the two entrees, but right after goes to the complete other side of the restaurant, mind you he's been right at the end of the bar since we sat at our table. The fillet comes out again with the baked potato, and once again it's cooked incorrectly. This time the steak is rare, and when I mean rare it was cold in the middle. Not to mention it was thin, which further tells me this was not the cut I ordered from their menu. Lastly the baked potato was served with a piece of butter that would not melt. To complete the food review I'll end with the salad as it was brought out last from the initial attempt from Sophie's, it was a salad that even a rabbit wouldn't eat if it was starving. It had no onions, no croutons, no cheese, but it did have two tiny tomatoes that were ready for the trash. The cherry on top of this "premium" and "upscale" steakhouse came when we ordered the check. Needless to say we just wanted to pay and leave, and get a pizza and ice cream. So, after asking for the check the DJ begins setting up beside our table and the bar. At this point the large bar area with high tops is rather full, but no one is ordering food, just drinks. This place isn't a "premium" or "upscale" restaurant as it likes to advertise. The prices for it are rather expensive for the atmosphere, and simply not edible based on the two "steak" dishes that were cooked incorrectly twice. We spent $106.00 for two people, not including tip, and recommend you go to a REAL premium and upscale steakhouse. read more

I reserved this space for a party. A very important party for my daughter. Came in talked to the owner several times before and after putting down the deposit to ensure that we were on the same page regarding our requests. Fast forward to the day of her event... The owner Ahmad overbooked and the spot was not ready for my daughter's event. They were still cleaning up and doing stuff to prepare for my daughter's event at the start time of her event because another event started late. The DJ showed up an hour and a half later than my party time. The servers tried their best to do a good job but this place is poorly owned and managed. Reserve this spot at your own risk. You have been warned. Ahmad does not know how to handle business and was so nonchalant about the issues on my daughter's special day. I would not recommend. Although this place has potential, they really need help. The TVs at the bar are old with colors that don't exist in nature. The wait and serve staff appear to be inexperienced, I can accept that for now since that's a problem that is occurring all around town. However the staff should listen and make an effort to get orders correct. Our salads, ordered one ranch and one blue cheese. We got two with blue cheese. We ordered ice tea, sent it back because it tasted as if it had started fermenting. We ordered rib eyes, one medium and one medium well. went there on good friday only customer at lunch and took wait staff and kitchen forever.. 2 of us had caprese salad at $14 and other at $22 with shrimp added,, consisted and 4 tomatoes slices and 4 mozarrela cheese slices.. 75 cents worth of materials ....seriously al the napkins had some "sawdust" type material on it... we tried to scrape and shake it off and got some of it but its as if the napkins were laundered in a horse stable. we just avoided using . the chicken i had was fine but $80.15 pre tip for 3 peoples foods -and they charged us for refill of coffee.. cmon... at least fake it... read more

I ate at Sofie's just a few days ago and, unfortunately, was not impressed. The service was subpar which is never a good start. I walked in and all of the employees were hanging around the bar...which was fine because I was the only one there apparently. I was given a high top seat promptly but then I was truly unclear on who, if anyone, was taking my order. After a few minutes, that was redeemed and I settled on a steak with a salad and a baked potato. The salad was great! The baked potato seemed to have been sitting under a warmer for a day and a half and came with nothing more than a dallop of butter. I knew I was in for a real treat when the server brought A1 with my steak! A treat it was- there was about 4lbs of seasoning salt on the steak and that was it! To add insult to injury, the steak was cooked to perfection, which was great if only the cook would have seasoned it a little more sparingly. During my time there, the wait staff seemed pretty unconcerned with most of the customers! At one point, another guest was screaming across the restaurant to get the attention of the hostess. I hope Sofie's will capitalize on the lack of restaurants in the area and spend some time teaching their staff to be present for their customers; find some solid and consistent recipes and succeed in the area! read more

We went to Sofie's Steakhouse two weeks ago and found the food excellent. I had the best steak of my life. Today it was like I was at a different restaurant. The food was terrible and the atmosphere loud and obnoxious. My steak today was horrible. I asked for a rare steak and it came out well done, plus it was thin and small. The second steak came out almost raw. Two weeks ago the steak was bathed in butter and a balsamic reduction. This steak was dry rubbed and flavorless. The cut of steak wasn't the same. My wife got the Sofie's chicken, like the last time. This time was it was dry like it was reheated. When we mentioned our dissatisfaction to the waitress, who wasn't great, she said the just got a new chef, the old one quit. I believe they should keep looking for a chef. I've had better steaks at a low end chain restaurant. Needless to say, we will never go back to or recommend Sofie's to anyone. Very sad. We thought we found a gem and ended up with a rock! read more
