Good portion sizes and good value for money. I was surprised to have received twice as much as I was expecting when I ordered the $11 chicken shawarma. In terms of taste, it's definitely a notch below Mazra - the Adana kebab was missing a flavor kick and was a bit too bland and some of the mezze felt off too (maybe less real olive oil and other type of oils being used?). Nevertheless you should give it a shot if you're hungry and in the area!

Habibi this place is halal!! I ate here twice in July and I'll probably eat here twice in August too! Sofra grill has the best most authentic middle eastern food. From the Meze to kabob, everything is spiced and cooked to perfection, absolutely delicious. The bread, cheese and ice cream are all made in house! The portion sizes are great too. My favorite must order items: all kabobs, Meze platter, kunafa, yogurt drink. The customer service was beyond amazing.i can't say enough great things about the hospitality! Azad and his staff were so gracious and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more.

I first discovered Sofra Grill at a Yelp Celebration earlier this year, and I've been looking for an excuse to come back ever since. We ordered takeout this time, and my Chicken Shawarma Plate was outstanding. The chicken was flavorful and generously portioned over perfectly cooked saffron rice. The fresh house salad balanced everything beautifully, the garlic sauce was creamy and addictive, the hot sauce had just the right kick, and that warm, fluffy pita bread was worth the trip all by itself. The Steak Shawarma Plate was for my 20-year-old son...and I was hoping he'd save a tiny piece for our pup. Nope. He guarded that plate like it was priceless. Leia gave him her very best puppy eyes, but he wasn't giving up a single bite. Judging by how fiercely he protected it, I'm guessing the steak shawarma was every bit as good as my chicken. Sofra Grill has officially become a family favorite. Next time, I think Leia deserves her own order.

Good spot if you are looking to grab some Mediterranean food. They have expanded to the spot next door so they now have ample seating. I have only gotten to go here so not sure if it is a fast casual style or if you can sit down and order. I did see the waiters bringing out plates to the tables but it seemed like you could order at the register than sit down if you wanted. Staff is friendly and the food is good. The white sauce is good if you are okay with garlic. They must make it in house since it was much stringer than others I have tried. Very good in my opinion. Rice is flavorful and meats are cooked well. Have a good amount of spice on there although maybe too much if you are sensitive to those types of flavors. One of the only spots to serve up a lamb shank which is tender and tastes good with the rice. Also gotta drop some of that extra white sauce on there. Overall great spot of you are looking for Mediterranean in the area.

Came here for a quick bite and the time from order when I arrived to pick up was under 5 minutes! Chicken Shawarma- Generous portion of tender chicken, well seasoned over a beutiful prepared rice pilaf and a side salad. Tasty bites and the flavors had heat, spice and very savory. Going back for sure and looking forward to trying the other dishes.

Reviewing as part of the Yelp Celebration event! I visited on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was full but I managed to find a spot in the residential area. After checking in, my food was ready in about 10 minutes. The manager/owner came outside to personally hand me the bag which was very kind and thoughtful. Overall experience with the staff was very welcoming and friendly! Portions were super generous and I really appreciate that the salad/pickles were packed separately so they don't get warm from the hot foods. Everything was so flavorful and fresh. This could easily be two meals! Sauces were a nice addition as well. I would highly recommend Sofra if you're in the area (or passing by) and need a warm, hearty meal. I am planning to return so I can try some of their other menu items! Big thank you to the Yelp team for arranging this event

My first time trying this place. ERCAN was the absolute best!!! He was so accommodating, kind, respectful, and went above and beyond to execute our order and experience. ERCAN is all about customer service. He always smiles, he even had a wonderful conversation with us when he had time to talk to us, which made us feel more welcome than any restaurant we've ever been too. Honestly, ERCAN is an asset to this restaurant. I am definitely going to come back and request ERCAN to take care of us because he makes us have a wonderful time. He always does his best and goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your meal here. The establishment is beautiful and clean well put together absolutely beautiful. When you look inside, it looks elegant. Food portion was absolutely wonderful. You can tell the food here is delicious, light, and real quality ingredients no additives. Just all healthy. I would highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a healthy, delicious elegant spot to eat out with friends or family. Also make sure you request for ERCAN to take care of you. He is absolutely wonderful and the best. Thank you ERCAN for your hard work, dedication, professionalism, and kindness.

I highly recommend this place in the area!!! We came here since we were staying around the airport and the food caught our eyes. We had the meze platter, steak shawarma, and the beef platter. Big big portions and shareable size!!! And delicious. On too of that, for dessert we got the baklava ice cream and kunafa. So soo good. I recommend those two staples for dessert after finishing a delicious meal. Servers were friendly as well and the place was booming with customers!

    Baba Ganoush

We came here one lazy Sunday afternoon for lunch. We had a Baba Ganoush, the Branzino fillet, and the Kofte plate. The Baba Ganoush was very good. The fresh bread that came with it was amazing. We probably could have just snacked on this pair all day. The Branzino fillet was pretty good. I like that it was a fillet vs a whole fish, so I didn't have to deal with bones. It was a little bland for me though. I added the garlic sauce which gave it more flavor, but I would have liked not to have to do that. Not bad, but could be better. The Kofte plate was also pretty good, but again a little bland for me compared to the Kofte at Mazra or a koobideh at one of favorite Persian spots. Again, not bad but much more flavor when I added the garlic sauce which and hot sauce. Service was excellent. They were attentive and refilled out waters without asking. The unisex bathroom is EXTREMELY clean. A good indication of how they keep their kitchen. Definitely a plus. This is a nice local spot we'll have to come back to so we can try other items. This visit, however, was just okay. Next time I'll have to try the lamb dish and a few others.

Amazing! Everything from the moment you walk in being greeted, to the service from beginning to the end of your meal. We've been here a good amount of times and the quality of service can't be beat. The owner is almost always around and his presence makes the experience that much better. The conversation is one you won't want to miss. The food is always top tier. Freshly made to order and the plating is always so clean. The service has always been great. They even expanded the restaurant so there's even more space to dine in and to bring your whole group with you. Definitely a south city gem. We will definitely be back for more! Thank you Sofra Grill!

Falafel Plate (dissected for two people)
    Johnny S.

Went here for my first Yelp Event and the missus and I decided to share a Falafel Plate since we are in our #skinnyEra. The store is clean and big, and you can smell it a mile away (we know because we had to park far since parking is a bit abstract). But it is WORTH it. Our slightly cold To-goed meal was still a lot better than most mediterranean places we've been to....the falafel was crispy, looks homemade, and spongy inside. We are definitely going to come back and try the meat plates since those looked juicy af!

Had the pleasant surprise of experiencing this restaurant through my first Yelp Elite event and I don't usually go for Mediterannean food but the chicken shawarma that I got was really good. It came with a salad, naan bread, and two sauces. The shawarma itself was delicious, I killed that whole thing in one sitting (a lot of rice). The salad wasn't my favorite but to top it all off with the naan bread was really good. I'd recommend this spot for anyone who's craving mediterannean!

Sofra Grill is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the area! Food is always fresh & piping hot. I enjoy the balance in the plates, with salad and rice. In my recent visit, I ordered the chicken skewers plate and it was so delicious and flavorful. I was trying to savor every bite! Portions are pretty decent, with enough to take home as leftovers. Service is great, the folks that work there are always super nice and attentive. Seating is limited but can be a short wait when there is no lunch/dinner rush. I usually park at Smart & Final's parking lot and had no issues. There is nearby residential parking as well.

Meyhouse Sunnyvale -- Excellent Food, but the Service Pacing Could Be Much Better…read more I tried the $44.95 three-course prix fixe lunch and chose the Köpoğlu as my meze, upgraded the main to the Adana Kebab for $3, and added the Künefe for $2. The food was the strongest part of the experience, and several things stood out more than I expected. The complimentary bread was excellent--warm, fragrant, and nicely textured. I also really enjoyed the green herb sauce served with it. The parsley and mint flavors were quite pronounced, almost grassy, but in a good way. It was fresh and aromatic and worked very well with the bread. The Köpoğlu was one of the highlights of the meal. The roasted eggplant, tomato sauce, garlic yogurt, and olive oil were very well balanced. I especially liked the garlic yogurt--the acidity, garlic, and creaminess were all present without any one element overpowering the others. The tomato added sweetness and acidity, while the olive oil rounded everything out. It was especially good with the bread. The Adana Kebab was also very good. My first bite came from the end of the skewer and was slightly dry, but once I got into the center, the meat was noticeably juicier. The char from the grill was excellent, and the lamb had a clear lamb flavor without being gamey. The chopped red pepper mixed into the meat also added another layer of aroma and flavor. Even the rice surprised me. It looked like plain white rice, but it was flavorful enough to eat on its own, with a noticeable buttery, almost milky aroma. The flatbread underneath the kebab was also very good after soaking up some of the lamb juices and fat. If I had one criticism of the main plate itself, it would be the proportion of onion-tomato salad to meat. The salad tasted fine, but for my preference, there was a little too much of it. I really enjoy the lingering flavor of grilled lamb, and while the rice and bread help carry that flavor, the raw onion and tomato act as a strong palate cleanser and erase it quickly. Since the meat portion was relatively small compared with the rice and salad, I would personally prefer a little more kebab and a little less salad. The Künefe was another highlight. I really enjoyed the contrast between the crispy kadayıf on the outside and the soft, warm cheese inside. The pistachios on top were not something I particularly enjoyed by themselves, but mixed together with the cheese, syrup, and crispy pastry, they made much more sense. The first few bites, especially the areas that had not absorbed too much syrup, were excellent. Toward the center it became a little sweeter than I prefer, but overall I still liked it very much. Food-wise, I would actually give Meyhouse a slight edge over Dishdash. There were more layers and more small details to notice throughout the meal, from the bread and herb sauce to the Köpoğlu, Adana, rice, flatbread, and dessert. The service, however, did not match the level of the food. The restaurant was quite quiet at lunch, but the pacing was surprisingly rushed. I had barely started eating the Köpoğlu when the main course arrived. For a menu specifically presented as a three-course prix fixe, I expected the courses to be paced more deliberately. Instead, I had to choose between continuing to enjoy the appetizer and eating the kebab while it was still hot. There was also an issue with clearing the table. One staff member who was not the person taking my order repeatedly tried to remove my bread and the green herb sauce. The first time, I specifically asked him to leave the sauce. Later, after I finished the main course, he came back and again started clearing both without asking. I told him I wanted the bread to go, so he left the bread, but still removed the herb sauce. It was a small detail, but it made the service feel mechanical rather than attentive to what the guest had already requested. Overall, I would rate the food around 8.5/10 and the service around 6.5-7/10. Meyhouse is a little more expensive than Dishdash, but the prix fixe lunch is also very substantial. I only ate about half of the complimentary bread, and I was already quite full after the main course. Finishing the Künefe left me completely stuffed, so the portion size is definitely generous. I would still come back. Next time, I would probably try the Ahtapot, especially since it is only a $9 upgrade on the prix fixe compared with $25 à la carte. The food gives me a reason to return; I just hope the pacing and attention to small service details are better next time.

I understand restaurants can get busy, and being out of a few menu items happens, but the way things were handled was frustrating. We ordered our food, received appetizers, and then nearly 20 minutes later our server casually came over to tell us they were out of the chicken entrée we had ordered. There was no apology, no empathy, and honestly no sense that she understood how inconvenient that was. By that point it was already late, and at almost 10 PM in San Francisco there weren't many other dining options open nearby, which completely ruined our night. What made it worse was that we were still charged despite the poor experience and lack of proper service recovery. I ended up not tipping because the service felt disorganized and lacking basic professionalism and empathy. To be fair, the owner did come out afterward to apologize while I was waiting for my Uber, and I appreciated that gesture. But overall, this was a terrible experience that could have been handled much better operationally and from a customer service standpoint.

It wasn't just the food they say, but the remarkable wine list, which turned the place into a see-and-be-seen spot akin to NYC's Elaine's (RIP). If this isn't quite how you imagine anyplace along SF's Clement Street, think again. Years later it's still packed (on a Friday night) and loud. Service was the sole miscue on my visit with 3 others. We were given menus and water but ignored after that, to a point where we reached out to get some wine and attention. As you can see from the 5-star assessment, no harm-no foul; once wine and food flowed all was forgiven. The menu required some explanation. It's not broken down in any discernible way, requiring the server to explain that all dishes ae meant to be shared and that the first several dishes are dips, then small plates, then larger. In truth, all seemed like small plates to me (or small servings) but if your wallet permits, you'll not be disappointed. There wasn't one thing we shared that we didn't 100% consume nor anything I'd not recommend. Since we sampled almost the entire menu I feel comfortable saying that everything is delicious and attractively presented. We left the alcohol order to the one at our table who'd chosen Kitchen Istanbul and she summoned the sommelier and gave him free reign. He asked what we like (hearty reds) and what we wished to spend (about $75/bottle) and we enjoyed 2 completely unique offerings that we'd not have known to choose for ourselves. He was also tasked with pairing two of the dessert wines with two of the chosen desserts and they were as enjoyable as the wines served with dinner. It's fair to say that the sommelier had fun with our table, stopping by before we left to say how much he'd appreciated the opportunity to choose for us and for us placing our trust in him. Like the rest of the City I was following Sam Smith's food journey during his time here. He never made it to Kitchen Istanbul but if he had, I think he'd have nodded in agreement with the 5-star rating.

Chocolate mousse cake was decadent and moist. 4/5 Beautiful presentation on the plating of our food, though the timing for the food wasn't quite right as a few plates were served room temperature and not hot. However, the surprise desserts were a nice touch in helping us celebrate a birthday!

The branzino was excellent. We did the kebap trio -- the chicken was our favorite. For dessert we got the katmer (pistachio cream-filled filo pastry, served with pistachio gelato) -- this was a fantastic recommendation from our server. Service was top notch. There were three servers working inside and outside, quite a few tables including a big group, and they were so on top of it, warm, welcoming, attentive. Truly standout five star service from the moment we walked in--thank you, Esnaf staff! We loved our experience here. The restaurant is also beautiful! Get a table by the window if you can. Definitely a great date spot or place to linger over drinks with friends. We can't wait to be back.

The service was excellent from start to finish. Our table was checked on frequently, and they constantly asked if we needed more bread or anything else. Empty plates were cleared promptly, and everything felt very attentive without being overwhelming. A special thanks to Kerem and Cansel for taking such great care of us! As for the food, I think we ordered way too many mezes, so we didn't have room for the main courses. We'll definitely try them next time. Everything we tasted was delicious and very well prepared. My personal favorite was the Girit Ezmesi. And the bread deserves a special mention. it's freshly baked and brought straight to the table. Absolutely wonderful. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

The food was prompt and very good, I was happy with my beef/lamb doner wrap and mango lassi (though the lassi is not made in house). The atmosphere was casual, not too loud, and pleasant. Arslans Turkish Street Food. Santa Cruz, CA. July, 2026. My husband and I decided to grab a quick…read moredinner at Arslans Turkish Street Food while walking around downtown Santa Cruz. We ordered at a counter, and were instructed to wait to hear our names called for the order. We sat at a table in the small room adjacent to the counter. Food. My husband ordered a whole Beef and Lamb Doner Wrap (whole, $17, half, $11), which consisted of lettuce, tomato, red cabbage, carrots, fries, Turkish seasoned onions, fresh herbs, and a red sauce in lavash. The wrap was HUGE, and very tasty. In fact, he ate only half, and we (together) ate the second half the next day. If we were to make one change, we'd order it without the fries in the wrap. Rating: 4.75/5. I ordered the Combo Doner Box ($15). This was a combo of beef/lamb + chicken doner, served in a box full of fries, with a choice of sides (tzatziki, in my case). Rating: 3/5. This entree was heavy on fries (though they were very tasty and crisp), had an okay amount of the beef/lamb doner, and was light on the chicken doner. Also, I should have read the description better when ordering at the counter. I expected some lettuce and tomatoes that they weren't in the description; some fresh veggies would've increased my liking of the meal. Overall, my husband's wrap was the better value. Dessert. (4.5/5). This restaurant offers amazing desserts, including baklava and Turkish delight. We ordered a variety that we shared back at home with others later. Slight reduction in rating due to high cost point -- but they ARE special treats! Service. (3/5). The girl at the counter was friendly enough, but there's very little "service" per se. You place your order at the counter, where you also pick it up when your name is called. My husband also went back to the counter once to request more sauce. Ambiance. (3/5). This is a popular restaurant -- leading to congestion at the front counter. The side dining area was also tightly packed with tables and chairs, with patrons rearranging the set-up, and bumping into others, to meet the sizes of their dining parties. It was also uncomfortably warm. The kitchen also seemed to be understaffed, so service was slower than expected. In fact, after a significant wait, my husband approached the counter to check on the status of our order just as the order was called. Overall, these were minor glitzes, and we still recommend this restaurant and will return.

sultan b eating this kebab UP!! it is so yummy. food is 10/10 no matter what you order (except…read moredesserts). service is quick and lines are longer than my dead fried hair. it was pretty affordable (what even is affordable in the bay) but idk because other people paid for my meal since i'm broke! yay! location - pretty easy to find its in like a business plaza thing. they have indoor and outdoor seating but i hate sitting outdoors because the wind blows my hair into the food and then i eat my hair ew food - my group tried the flatbread and dip platter thing as well as the chicken shawarma, falafel, kebab, and lamb. all stunners no suckers. portions not bad the rice is amazing i'm pretty sure they cook it in some sort of stock, it's very aromatic. salad is great, i love chewing on raw green stalks like a cow 10/10 flatbread is okay, a bit doughy and not as puffy/light as i prefer. also on the sweeter side and does not seem to be made fresh to order but i personally don't care. i am here for the protein 7/10 meats were supermazingtacular! doused in flavor, tender, juicy. lamb shawarma does not have that despicable slightly irony lamb taste! that is a win in my book! chicken shawarma is awesome and kebab is very well seasoned. i think everything here is probably drowned in sumac or SOMETHING idk it is so addictive and i ate a lot 10/10 falafel is also good, soft inside, crispy outside, not grainy. great with their slightly average flatbread and hummus 9/10 SPEAKING OF HUMMUS yum!!! super smooth and refreshing. i do like their baba ghanoush more tho. dips are all great! 9/10 we also tried some desserts which...no comment (in a bad way sorry guys). i am not taking away a star because i am a nice funny person but hot damn these were sweet. at the first bite my tastebuds rolled back to diabetes. why are these so sickeningly sweet like they would taste so much better lightly sweetened. or maybe we got the wrong desserts idk...we got the coconut/pomegranate dessert, chocolate/pistachio, burma/pistachio, and the nice guy added a few of the tulumba things (i think?). all of them had amazing flavors that were overpowered by the sugar content. the burma thing was my favorite just because it was the least sweet and i suspected some cardamom which is yum 6/10 service/ambiance - service is great very efficient, lots of seating, cute rainbow umbrellas hanging upside down on the ceiling. what more could you ask for (besides more money) 10/10 anyway worth a visit but if you want dessert just ask them for their less sweet ones. or maybe don't. maybe some people want to inhale sugar and you know what...you do you girliepop!
