Breakfast, Absolutely amazing! Usually a bit hesitant with order at the counter type restaurants but this experience was better than most with the very clear, simple, and easy to read menu. Ordered an Argentinean empanada, Cuban waffle, and café con leche. Coffee came out first which was nicely presented and delicious. The empanada followed and let me tell you, it was hands down the best Argentinian empanada I've had in the Orlando area. Now the Cuban waffle, goodness, it had everything I was looking for and more. This restaurant is not good at all, they don't have table service you have to wait in line to order your food. Very long line and since most of their clients are tourists nobody knows the menu so the line takes forever form the moment you walk inside to the time you actually have your food ready it takes about 45min, if you are in a group it takes even more time, the food was nothing special, portions were decent, but food was not good at all not worth the wait and their prices are high taking in consideration that is setup like a fast food restaurant but they expect big tips. Not coming back. If you decide to go, make sure you order enough drinks, desserts and food because if you want anything else you have to make the line again. read more

Delicious Cuban sandwich with the most tender roasted pork you can find, and I'm Cuban. The café con leche was on point as we're the ham croquettes. My friend ordered a cachapa and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Service was beyond spectacular. The food was at our table within minutes of sitting down. Outdoor area is nice during cooler months with the heaters. Whoever owns this place is doing a wonderful job of running a well oiled machine. Superb employees! They tables are cleaned within seconds and they're constantly walking around removing empty plates from the tables. I'll keep coming back every time I am in Orlando. I am sad to write this as we are frequent customers of your restaurant but we had a very bad experience with our order yesterday. We live 30 minutes away and typically we eat on site, but we had visitors from out of town yesterday so we decided to pick up our food. I placed the order at 11:57 for pickup at 12:45 as we live 30 minutes away. When my husband arrived at 12:45, the cashier tried giving him an order of just 2 items and upon further inspection, this order was for someone named Eric. My name is Erin. If my husband did not notice that the order was wrong, he would have driven back home for 30 more minutes with only 2 meals when we have 6 people! So the cashier said the order for us (Erin) was given to the wrong person and they have to make everything over again. The order wasn't ready until 1:15, meanwhile our guests were at home hungry and impatient. Orders getting mixed up is a common thing and I understand that mistakes happen. However, we found the food was disappointing. We ordered Lomo Saltado and because nobody poked holes in the top of the container to vent it, the trapped condensation made the fries soggy! We didn't eat the fries and the steak was very chewy. We've ordered this from Sofrito before and never had a problem. The yellow rice with the pulled pork was hard and uncooked. Again - something that we've ordered in the past and never had a problem. Lastly, the tostones were hard and tasted like they were leftover from the day before. It was very disappointing and after spending $80, driving an hour roundtrip and having our food given away to someone else, we were really hoping to have a great meal which did not happen. read more

We were staying at a nearby hotel for Disney and wanted a quick dinner. We are so lucky we stumbled on Sofrito Latin Cafe! The space is charming, the staff are friendly, and the food is delicious! You walk in and order at the counter (they also have a bar if you're just in the mood for drinks). Once your order is in, they give you a table number and you wait for your food to be delivered (there is both an inside and outside seating area). We received our first food within five minutes, and the rest followed shortly after. I ordered an arepa and croquettes, while my husband ordered a combo (pork, potatoes, plantains, beans). I was so hopeful yesterday when I came and excited to try the food. But I ended up so disappointed. The service was extremely SLOWwww. I know they were busy but it took a hard hour to order and get my to-go order. We ordered two sandwiches and fries. I begged my husband to get our money back and leave but he wanted it so bad. We had the cuban and pernil sand whiches with fries and plantains which tasted "ok" but not worth the hour wait. They were a 5/10. Busy does not make this okay. I needed to see the manager AND owner jumping in running around if food is that slow coming out (sarcasm)... obviously there's a staffing or organizational issue going on. I will not be back I'm sorry. I should have been offered a good apology and free drink or something my goodness. The best surprise of our FL vacation by far! We thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The pork was divine! The red beans are out of this world! The black beans are pretty darn good, too! The skirt steak was juicy and tender. Meals are served with 3 sides of your choice and a salad. You order at the counter, find your seat and they deliver the most delicious food to your table. Visitors Sofrito for dinner recently, and what really disappointed me was the lack of front of house service. The front of house was run similar to a zoo, with orders going to the wrong table, and incomplete orders being served. Having read through all of the other reviews, I do hope that this was just a bad night for this restaurant. The front of house manager had a complete lack of sense of urgency. My table had four (4) meals, two (2) arrived approximately 15 minutes prior to the two (2) meals remaining to complete service to my table (total of four meals) I ordered one (1) empanada and was served three (3) empanadas, with the first being incorrect, and we were also served two (2) servings of black beans, when we had only ordered one (1). The topping on this experience was the fact that no one asked if everything was ok, and that in order to escalate our issues, I had to go to the swing door to the kitchen to interrupt someone who was not paying attention and speak to them. Unfortunately I do not live in the area (anymore) however, I am not likely to return, or suggest a meal here to my family and friends. read more

Big restaurant with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. My sister got a vegetarian plate which she enjoyed. We were not fans of the boiled yuka. My dad got the salmon which was just meh, it was tender but it tasted like average salmon cooked at home. I got the burger which I very much disliked. Went to visit Orlando over the weekend and stumbled upon this gem during brunch time. When walking in, we ordered at the counter and went to seat ourselves at a table. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff is friendly. For my entree, I ordered the Cuban Avocado Toast. This item was not on the brunch menu (at least I did not see it), but if you ask for it, they will serve it to you. It consisted of Avocado (spread), Spring Mix, Vine Tomato, White Cheese on Cuban bread. The bread was toasted so it was a little hard to eat. I also wish a sauce or a vinaigrette was served with this dish because the spring mix was dry, but other than that it was good. I also ordered the Nutella Empanadas for dessert. The breading of the empanada was great and the Nutella was warm inside of it which was delicious! If I were in Orlando again, I would come back to try something new! read more

Delicious inexpensive brunch. We wanted something different from the usual bacon, eggs, pancake, etc. This place was not far from our hotel. The empanadas, the iced mocha, everything was made fresh and tasted great. You can also ask for the sugar on the side for your coffee which I should've done becausr it was too sweet. The service is great. The guy at the cash was friendly and explained the menu to us. You order first and then they bring you the food afterwards. We were in the mood of having some Cuban foods and decided to try out Sofrito Latin Cafe. (Try to arrive earlier cause there's limited parking and during rush hour, you will have to try your luck.) When we arrived, we had to order first, then sit wherever we like, either inside or outside. The staff there were friendly and helpful. I didn't get his name, but the person who took our order was very helpful and introduced us to some very authentic and delicious cuban dishes. We thank him for that because it was indeed delicious! To my suprise, being my first time here, everything was delicious, we literally licked the plate, except the empanada with Nutella, it was okay in my opinion. We walked in and upon first impression the restaurant was covered in dirty tables. The entire outside patio didn't have one clean table to sit at. Without a very long wait the lady at the counter took our order and was very friendly and helpful. We sat down and waited about 20 mins. Our food came our fresh and delicious! They took my boyfriends allergies serious which is important to us. We both got the Pabellon for $11.99. This is Venezuela's national dish. Seasoned shredded beef, white rice, black beans & sweet plantains. I also got a side salad. I was amazed by our quantity size. Everything was so tasty we both got a stomach ache from finishing our huge plates. Our server was amazing and so friendly. I asked him about their sauce and he was kind enough to bring us a sample of each. I took a coconut flan to go which was so yummy. I've never had it before. We asked some locals for a recommendation for Latin food. Sofrito was highly recommended. We stopped there for dinner. The place looks like a standard diner and we were not sure what to think. We ordered Camarones Al Ajillo and the Roast Pork dinner with black beans and rice. Service: It is a walk in and place your order at the counter style of restaurant. After you place your order, you find a table and sit. They bring the food out after its prepared. Food: Camarones were excellent. They were not over or under cooked. The shrimp were tasty and the perfect texture. The pork was a little salty, but we don't use much salt in our food. That withstanding, the pork was absolutely delicious. THe rice was prepared correctly (it sticks together as you het a forkful.) The plantains were not quite to my specification. The best plantains I had were at a Cuban place in Orlando and they were plantain chips (like potato chips). They had a nice flavor, but the texture is what I am not a fan of. But, again I am not a connoseur of plantains. Back to the service: Once we sat down at the table, the wait staff took great care to see that the food was served hot, and made sure allwas good. Definitely a must try for breakfast. Every other diner has generic american breakfast or bad coffee. This place has both good food with a latin twist and decent coffee for you coffee lovers. Got the cuban omelette and the thing was huge. Guava juice is amazing. Steak and eggs are cooked right. The only thing is their waffles dont have flavor. My family and I ordered food here to go. This place is so yummy! I really enjoyed my arepa. I had the one with eggs and veggies and I added some cheese and a cilantro cream sauce to it. It was so yummy! I also tried some of their pastries. The standout for me was the spinach and cheese one. I would order that again. The portions here and very generous. Also, they had great customer service. Everything we ordered was in the bag and that gives them a high rating in my book as often times, items are forgotten when ordered online. The restaurant is set up nicely with indoor and outdoor seating and nice Latin music playing in the background, but the system they implement is one of fast food-disappointing. If this is your first visit, it feels a little confusing and rushed. The café con Leche was weak. We asked if it could be made darker and were told that you have to pay separately for a shot. I also ordered a bloody Mary. It was tasty but slightly over spicy. We wished we had ordered additional drinks, but at the time of ordering we were not aware of the choices. I really think the restaurant is losing out by implementing a system that doesn't allow customers to think about their choices when ordering. read more

So glad to find a reasonably priced and flavorful alternative to all of the chain and fast food restaurants in the area. We ordered takeout, but I have to comment that when walking in, the vibes were immaculate. I will definitely return and dine in. On to the food: The Colombian empanadas were a hit with the whole family. Lomo Saltado was delicious, the Pollo a la Plancha was a good choice for our picky eater, and my favorite was the Roasted Pork.
