Such a fun time at this place, our third time visiting. Valet is $20. Had dinner with friends on a Saturday. Drinks were great. Service was good, welcoming vibe. All dishes were scrumptious. My husband and I really enjoyed the crab artichoke dip and popcorn shrimp for appetizers. We both had the ropa vieja for our entree, so tasty and flavorful. My friends had the churrasco and whole fried red snapper and were very satisfied. For desserts, we had the chocolate cake and tres leches, both were excellent. DJ was awesome. The outdoors was nice too, cool views.

Highway for brunch with friends on a Saturday. They open right at 12, same for the valet. You can valet or find street parking before you come down into the park. You can also take the BX19 bus. It stops right in front. We got the brunch which is $50 per person, and it comes with a free beverage. Also, with six people, you get a free appetizer platter that came with empanadas, carnita fritas and calamari. I had the steak and eggs that came with home fries. A friend of mine had the chicken and waffles. That either comes with a chicken breast and a leg, or a chicken breast, and a wing. We also ordered a side of the avocado salad, which is lettuce, tomato onions and avocado. The sangria is wonderful and strong. The mimosa is made with puree, not with fresh juice so they're very rich. The outdoor seating is very nice. It's right on the water. You can see the George Washington bridge. The only thing is thw day we were thete there was a little bit of a smell from the water or from the sewer. I'm not sure which one it was. We opted to sit inside but it was a beautiful day. It's a beautiful patio, and I'll definitely recommend Sofrito.

No complaints. We were seated right away. Lovely view. Service was great. It was a party of seven so we took advantage of the platter which consisted of empanadas, fried pork, calamari. All delicious and in abundance to serve the whole table over and over. I ordered the baby paella and it was filling. A solid 8/10. I had a virgin pina colada. With the pre fixed menu you get sangria or mimosa but I don't drink so they offered complimentary pina colada. The table had mixed reviews for food hence the four stars some dishes were a complete miss for people in my party They sang happy birthday to people celebrating birthdays. The confusion came with the bill. I've never seen a cash total and card total almost a 20 dollar difference if you paid with a card. They have an atm on site to get cash but the fee is 3 dollars. I hate taking around cash and it was a bummer to pay the fee for cash withdrawal from the atm. It's a big safe and open to everyone. We went at 120pm brunch and it was relatively empty. I saw there was a dress code but I had on swears and sneakers and was fine.

Nice spot for drinks and food... The park it's makes this place so special. The service was good and the drinks are better .. the ambience is top notch and definitely a place to gather people for dinner or have an evening drink.

I wasn't sure what to expect based on the mixed reviews about this place. The restaurant is inside of Riverbank state park and overlooks the Hudson River. They have outdoor seating on the terrace with great views of the water and George Washington bridge. The dining area is very spacious and I really liked the rope design hanging from the ceiling. The place was pretty empty when we arrived, this might be a place where people come later in the day. They have valet parking for $20. The brunch special includes an appetizer, main dish and unlimited mimosas or Sangria. I went with the white sangria, it was fruity and not overly sweet. The sancochito was really good and filling. The carne frita was delicious. I ordered the tres golpes and that was also very good. The mangu needed a bit more water and butter to bind it together but I still enjoyed it and loved the presentation of the salami and cheese. I tried the pernil and thought it needed a bit more seasoning. The portions are large and by the time we got dessert I was so stuffed. The service was friendly and attentive. The prefix brunch price is $45, not including tax and tip. They add automatic gratuity to the bill.

The space is breathtaking right along with the views being that the restaurant is located on the Hudson. They offer VIP parking at the location rather than paying and walking or having to walk to much or cross the west side highway. The service is exceptional and truly accommodating. The food was good it tasted like real Caribbean cuisine. I always suggest the pernil. the drinks were strong and really delicious as well. I think it was worth the price point.

This place is absolutely Beautiful! Its right on theHudson River. Great views. It was raining heavily and still the view was amazing. We went for Restaurant Week. The food was spectacular, absolutely delicious. The presentation was really nice and the drinks were really good also. The service was on point, very attentive and overall a GREAT time was had. Would totally go again!!

Came here for a friends birthday. Originally thought we were going to the one in midtown but found out if closed down Anyway this location is near 125th street just off the west side highway . Parking is valet $ 20 I believe . I was a lil hesitant at 1st but it ended ip being fine . Otherwise parking would be a few blocks walk away IF you are able to find parking which I would think be extremely hard. Someone in our group did park there. The birthday girl was super late so a few of us tried to get a drink at the bar. Service was not very attentive unless you were standing in one area of it. Finally we got a drink - and I enjoyed my classic mojito . They did not have guava for my original choice. Once we were seated, the waiter came to tend to us. Getting drinks and food took a little while but it was pretty good Music is Loud but would be good for most people. Definitely not easy to talk if you want to have in-depth conversations I had the shrimp mofongo which was decent . Friend had the red snapper - she liked it I also had a coconut mojito was it was too sweet. I preferred the classic mojito Not sure if I would come back again but it was a decent visit.

This was a huge portion pernil I ate it for three days and it was absolutely flavorful and delicious. The music is loud inside so we sat outside and it had a good ambience, but they could upgrade their outdoor seating a bit. All in all, I enjoyed the food.

Sofrito's is the spot we love to go to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we usually have an amazing time! This year, my husband and I, were so disappointed with the service. We sat outside like we always do, I guess because it was the holiday weekend it was somewhat slow, but the bartender's energy was awful. Once we sat down, the young man behind the bar said he would go get the bartender. She came outside, came over to us, and ask what we wanted with an attitude. There was no greeting, no pleasantries....nothing. I only found out her name, which was Leslie, because another staff member said it. The whole evening, most of which it was just my husband and I sitting at the bar, Leslie never came over to ask if we were okay, to ask if we wanted another drink...nothing! She sat on the stool looking on her phone and we had to get her attention to order drinks, appetizers, and food. I know at some point, we probably should have closed our tab and went inside but we love sitting outside with the beautiful ambience surrounding us. Leslie gave off the energy like she didn't want to be there, didn't want to be bothered at all, and it wasn't appreciated. On a good note, the food did not disappoint! For our appetizers...we had the empanadas, potato puffs, and corn fritters. For our entrees...we had the pork chops and steak. DELICIOUS!!! Sofrito's is a very special spot for us and it saddened me and upset my husband the lackluster treatment we received last night!

Date Night! My date and I came here on Thursday evening for date night. Valet is available upon arrival (cash only). As soon as we walked in we were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The ambience is gorg, music playing at an appropriate level allowing you to still have a conversation. Within minutes of being seated our waitress came over. She was lovely! Making food and drink suggestions. For my meal I went with the stuffed snapper. OMG!!!! It was soooo good. The portion was huge, leaving me with a great sized to go plate. Service was spot on. Our waitress continually checked in to make sure we were good. They also have a photographer walking around taking pictures that she'll later frame and sell to you. Next up is their boozy brunch for me!

Recently came to Sofrito for a dinner and had a great time. We made a reservation for 6. Keep in mind that you can't be seated until your entire party arrives and there is a 1.5 hour dining limit. I was surprised by this since the place wasn't crowded. I remember their food being much better years ago. The food wasn't bad but it was just okay. Drinks and music were good though! Valet parking is $20. I was surprised when the attendant didn't bring the car in front when we were ready to leave. We had to walk back to our car in the rain which wasn't pleasant.

The only thing thats good about Sofrito is the location and the view, depending on where you are seated. The portions are small; I ordered the shrimp mofongo and only got 4 shrimps on my plate. Another person ordered pernil and it was flavorless and dry. The cost for each plate is so much for so little. Disappointed.

Also, I will say it is AFFORDABLE. portion size was huge and the place was so CLEAN. Food: Pernil: 10/10 flavorful and tender Yellow (arroz con gandules) and Black rice with the beans: 10/10 both were good and couldn't even decide which one was better Pulpo 9/10 : fresh and tangy, cut into small pieces so you can top it on your rice Alcapurrias: 8/10 great and made differently then what I'm used to but it was sooo good I'd come again for this alone Juices: Ask them to try the juices and they will let you. Serving up Puerto Rican cuisine, it's a place I've kept an eye on for some time, and I finally decided to give it a try. The truck operates only on Saturdays and Sundays, from around noon until six, or sometimes one. When we arrived, a line had already formed, which is a testament to how much people love this spot. Be prepared to wait about 2 hours -- it's cash-only -- but trust me, the experience is worth it. The most popular dishes are Lechon, Spanish Rice, and Octopus. The wait is long because the owner personally prepares each order, taking the time to chat with customers and even offer tastings. His warm personality and genuine customer service create a welcoming atmosphere. While my daughter and I waited in line, I noticed an older gentleman I'd seen in videos sharing wine with waiting customers. Seeing him there, pouring wine as we waited, made us feel part of a lively, friendly community. I had a cup of wine and couldn't help but feel like I was at a festive gathering. Everyone around us was talking and laughing like old friends, which made the wait more enjoyable than I expected. The owner's passion is evident -- he runs out of Lechon, gets it straight from the street-side oven, and takes time to take pictures, entertain customers, and share samples. I tried the Lechon at least twice before finally receiving my order, and it was well worth the patience. When it was our turn, the owner was still giving samples while he prepared our food. My daughter ordered Lechon and Spanish Rice, while I wanted to try everything. My order included Lechon, Spanish Rice, Octopus, Shrimp, Crabmeat, and garlic sauce. Although I don't eat seafood like shrimp or crabmeat, I was eager to try the Octopus. I ate around the other seafood, savoring each bite. The food was incredibly delicious -- the Lechon had a perfect balance of flavor, and the crispy skin was unforgettable. The plantain was tasty, cooked to perfection, and complemented beautifully by the garlic sauce's punch of flavor. The Octopus, prepared ceviche-style, was a new experience for me, and I'm glad I took the chance--it was tasty. The rice was good, though I wished there was a bit more -- it seemed like a small portion. I would give this place a five-star rating for the incredible flavor and the warmth of the customer service. While cleanliness isn't perfect, the overall experience is truly heartwarming. If you find yourself there, I believe you'll leave feeling happy and satisfied.

The hospitality here is top tier! I ordered the bacalitos to start, which are cod fish fritters. They were nice and crispy. The sauce it came with really enhanced the flavor! I wanted to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday on Saturday, May 16th, and after searching a few places, I settled on Sobro Garden especially after finding out it was one of Jimmy's spots. We celebrated with 30 of our closest family and friends, and it truly became a night he said he'll never forget. Where do I start? Let me begin by saying Sobro Garden, you guys did NOT disappoint!! First and foremost, thank you Jimmy, because when I tell you this man went above and beyond to make everyone feel like family at his establishment, I truly mean it. Jimmy personally checked in with everyone going table to table making sure everyone was enjoying themselves, asking if everything was good from the drinks, atmosphere, music and food was to satisfaction because he genuinely wanted everyone to enjoy and especially told my husband it's a blessing to hit a milestone, celebrating with family and friendsand hope his place made it a memorable one. Jimmy is truly a perfectionist at heart. A host beyond host!! Even taking pictures with everyone. He took several pictures with my husband and even accidentally walked away with his iPhone for a moment & my husband allow his too he didn't realize it was his phone until I told him. Our maître d', Suhaily, was such a beautiful soul inside and out. She made the entire booking process for my husband's event feel effortless. She guided me step by step, helped choice a menu plan, stayed in communication the whole time and was so patient, kind and welcoming the moment I arrived. Her smile and warm hearted present made the experience even better. She greeted me as if we knew each other for years and our waitress and waiter? Absolutely AMAZING. My husband, our guests and I were attended to with such PRISTINE EXCELLENCE all night long. Now let's talk about the FOOD... because BABY!!! Everything was DELICIOUS. I can't even single out one item because every dish hit the spot. Everyone at our tables ordered something different, so we all got to taste a little bit of everything from the pernil, steak & onions, grilled salmon, chicken, arroz con gandules, fried fish, steak skewers and BABY... those famous Crack Wings Rub had everybody wanting to eat their fingers To top it all off, the highlight of the night was seeing Melle Mel celebrating his birthday from the day before and actor Darrin Henson, so handsome in person was also in the building. Both were so down-to-earth and when Melle Mel grabbed the mic, he absolutely brought the house down!! Thank you again to EVERYONE at Sobro Garden for making my husband's 50th birthday celebration such an UNFORGETTABLE Experience. We will DEFINITELY be Back!

The cheese sticks are a must when you visit. They are perfectly breaded, fried golden, crispy on the outside and melty on the inside. They come out hot, stretchy, and exactly what you want late at night. Their empanadas? Fire. The beef is juicy and packed with flavor, the chicken one is tender and well-seasoned, and that pink sauce... yeah, that sauce is elite. Creamy, tangy, with just enough kick to make you keep dipping until it's gone. I also ordered the chicken cachapa -- soft, slightly sweet corn pancake, stuffed generously and cooked just right. It's comforting, filling, and hits different when you're craving something authentic. Also on a late night on Dyckman, doesn't get better than this. The juices are fresh and refreshing, the perfect balance to everything savory. Service is quick and straight to the point, exactly what you need whether you're grabbing takeout or sliding into one of the small tables to eat in. The spot itself is small and cozy, no-frills, real neighborhood vibes all day. Overall, this is a classic Dyckman late-night Venezuelan staple. Great food, quick service, and flavors that always come through. If you know, you know.

This was a really good sandwich. I also picked me up some green sauce to go. Customer service was good, I was allow to sample a drink called Papelon and it quite refreshing. It had the taste of a lemonade and tea mixed together. The restaurant is big enough to dine inside or out with bathroom availability. I would definitely visit this place again for more dishes that I'm not familiar with. I'm giving thumbs up and Happy Yelping!
