    Teriyaki Chicken with Broccoli
    Juliana D.

My favorite quick Japanese food restaurant! Their prices and quality have not changed and they always give nice big portions! Service is always quick and I never have to wait more than 5 minutes for my meal. For $7.50 you get a lot of chicken, broccoli, carrots and rice and a huge portion of shrimp sauce! They always season the food well and the carrots are super sweet!

Honestly, a little bit better than I expected for the price. I got the vegetable entree to go for $5.50 or so plus tax, and it's definitely good amount of food for what you pay. The vegetables were somewhat mushy, like they had been steamed before being thrown on the grill. Also, the shrimp sauce was super thick. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it's worth noting. The inside of the restaurant seemed clean when I went to pick up my food. That's really all I have to say for now. I'll definitely get food here again just because it's a good value, but, of all of the variations of hibachi I've had in Charlotte, this one is right in the middle as far as quality goes.

This place is really an express stop. We were in and out very quickly. The food was much better than the previous Sogo Express. This chicken wasn't over cooked or dry. I also notice that they did not give as much food as the previous place. They had a sanitation rating of 94.0. Nothing to brag about, but nothing to concern yourself with either. They also had some ginger sauce which I suspect is soy sauce with ginger in it. It's delicious!

The combo is looking good but rice is really hard and under cooked Ive had better work try it again I gave it a fair shot very clean and well maintain but no one was wearing gloves preparing the food.

The only reason I'm not giving Sogo one star is because I actually do enjoy the food. I would give 2 1/2, but unfortunately there are no 1/2 stars. I've attached several pictures of what I just opened up my bag to when I came home with my to-go food: a pool of teriyaki-and-whatever-else juice. This is not the first time I have been served my teriyaki chicken and veggies in a pool of unappetizing liquid. This is, however, the first time I've brought my food home and had this gross juice everywhere. I feel like I shouldn't have to ask for my food to be drained, but I guess from now on I will have to. I would hope the chef and whoever else working would notice that they're giving me my food in a literal pool of disgusting looking brown liquid. The last time I ate inside, I even asked for a plate so that I could drain my food myself. From now on, I will definitely ask that my food be drained. The actual inside of the restaurant is dirty as well. There have been many times that I have come in and the person working the cash register is sitting down on their phone when they should be making the inside a little less dirty. The floors are sticky, as well as the table tops and booths. The floor also has a coat of brown filth on it. There is dust on the windowsills and pretty much everywhere else. Not sure how they even have a sanitation score of 95. I'll continue to come here, because the food is actually good. But I really hope the right person reads this and makes some changes to give customers a better experience.

Plenty of seating because it's so popular you have to go early if you don't want to wait. Today we did takeout so we did not have to wait for a seat. Lunch is definitely cheaper than dinner. $54 for two sushi trays (see photos). Enjoy!

The lined moved fast and the lunch crowd was quickly seated. They prefer your party to all be present in order to be seated. I ordered the miso soup. It was a good. The spring rolls (you get 2) was ok. More wrap than veggies. The crab rangoon was larger in size than most (you get 2) and was ok. Didn't have much of a crunch like other places. I also ordered the Tiger Roll. It was good. Comes with 8 pieces. Which is a lot for AYCE, many places do 4-6 pieces. I thought I'd get full but was able to eat some of the Alaska hand roll I also ordered. The staff was nice. Lots of parking in the lot. Seating can fill up quick as I've recently discovered that this is a place a lot of people come to.

Looking for fast and friendly service? Say no more. Hibachi pit is the perfect lunch spot for when you want to grab a quick bite with huge portions. You can customize your meal making it as healthy or unhealthy as you want it to be. I ordered the rice bowl with crispy chicken and the sweet and spicy sauce. The sauces all come on the side in a small cup, but you can ask for more. There was so much chicken in my bowl, and plenty of rice and veggies to go along with it. The chicken was on par with most fast casual places. I did need to use lots of sauce though to get more flavor out of the bowl. It's nothing that will blow your mind, but it's a good staple to have in your lunch rotation! The price is really fair too, you get what you pay for.

Since we are big fans of…read moretheir affiliate, The Smoke Pit, we had high hopes for the food quality--and they did not disappoint! Our party of 8 had a bit of a bumpy start. We were crowded around the entrance for a while without much direction until I checked in; they have a policy of not seating until the entire party arrives (6 of us were there, awaiting 2). Once the full group was present, though, we were seated promptly. Our server was excellent--very polite and on top of things. Even when two of our orders came out wrong, the server corrected the mistakes so quickly it didn't disrupt the meal at all. The food quality is definitely where this place shines: * Portion Sizes: Massive. As you can see from the photos, the trays are packed to the edges with rice, noodles, and protein. * Quality: The steak was tender and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. You can tell they care about the quality of their meat. * Affiliation: Knowing they are connected to The Smoke Pit gave us high expectations for the proteins, and they lived up to the name. While it might not be the absolute best hibachi I've ever had, the combination of great service, huge portions, and solid food quality makes it an easy recommendation. It's a great spot for a group--just make sure your whole party arrives at the same time!
