I see a lot of reviews in all directions and I can see why, so that is why I am giving 3 stars. Moved my son into his WCSU dorm more or less across the street and brought him and his younger sister over to try this place and the ice cream joint next door (which got a much higher review by me) thinking he may be coming here often. First the good stuff: - The pizza is very good, and for that reason alone my son is likely to come back and I will likely give it another try next time I visit. Of course if you don't like thin crust you are going to think it is "cardboard" etc. I found the review that criticized this place for that and said go to Pepe's instead to be comical, Pepe's is as "thin crust" as you can get (I know many fellow New Yorkers who hate Pepe's for this reason, I tell them it's simply a different style of pizza from what they are used to much like Uno's/Chicago style Deep Dish is a different style of pizza from what we are used to in NY.....ironically the Pepe's in Yonkers always has long lines despite everyone I know over there knocking them in this way, trying to compare it to our local style of pizza). - Considering they at least try to "look" like those very upscale pizza places like the Planet Pizza chain in Westchester County, Greenwich, Stamford and Westport (for example the blackboard with the many colors showing many usual topping offerings), their prices are very good by comparison (perhaps reflecting being in Danbury instead of Greenwich, Westport or Scarsdale, or maybe being across the street from a sizable college that is probably their main market base of students with lesser resources). Now the not-so-good: - I realize we ordered a pie and they are putting it fresh in the oven, but it shouldn't take 45 minutes to get it. They did apologize, but still. - While I wouldn't say they were rude, the staff seemed a bit "pushy". When I first came in I asked about whether I was better off with three of us (one of whom was likely to only eat one slice) to get a medium vs. a large pizza. Rather than show me the comparitive sizes, they kept saying things like, "it's only $3 more, just get the large and stop stressing over it", or (given that he looks about the age of a WCSU student) "your son is across the street right? He can just take any extra slices and reheat it" (we did have 2 slices left and he did/will do that, but that's our business to decide, not for you to influence/dictate). So as I say, a mixed bag, good pizza, reasonable price, but customer service could be better. We'll see what it's like the next time. read more

Soho is SoSo. I ordered online the night before to assure an on time delivery. I called when they were late. The deliver driver for lost and called. 25 minutes after the pizza was due it showed up- semi warm, and not exciting as the reviews stated. I just came here today for the first time after passing by this place every time im at Westconn. The pizza is really good! Most crispy pizza I have ever had! I had a slice of margarita and it was great! Cheap prices too for large slices. People working seemed friendly and inviting. Surprisingly not too busy at lunch time considering its across the street from a college campus, not that I am complaining! It's open late, the service is good and the pizza is solid. After getting into Danbury Sunday night after 9 my options were somewhat limited to pizza or fast food. SoHo was open which was half the battle. Guy behind counter was helpful and walked me through all the slices available. One thing that stood out was the chicken used on the pizza. Freshly cooked and nicely seasoned which is better than the tough flavorless topping most pizza places use. Went with two slices of chicken, broccoli and ricotta. Crust looked good but was a little tough but all and all it fit the bill for late night eats. read more

I ordered often from soho pizza over the years. A friend of mine told me about their margarita pizza. Ever since then it's my go to for different occasions. The service is honestly hit or miss. So many memories with soho's pizza i went to school at Westconn and this place is directly across the street from the main campus. It quickly became my every day after class meal. What's cool too is that you dont gave to order a whole pizza they will give you one slice or two or whatever you want. The margarita pizza is deliscous fresh globs of marinara sauce, oregano, basil, cheese. The Grandma slice is a deep dish also heavy on marinara greasy delicious. The bacon pizza had long strips of bacon not little bits. I ordered a large 1/2 sausage bacon and onions other half cheese. Driver calls me from wrong address, which was his first stop. Driver arrives at my address and once I got the pizza it was the wrong pie. No worries these stuff happens, but I shouldn't be expected to pay for a pizza I did not order. They really have something going on here. Truly one of the better pizzas that I've had across the country. The crust is cooked perfectly and it's a fairly thin modern pizza. The sauce is also perfectly as well as the amount of cheese you get (plus toppings). The portion sizes are also great and you do get a lot of great pizza for your buck (or two). I've heard that their buffalo chicken pizza is their best pizza and their top seller. The only downside, is that because of their popularity, depending on which night you go in, there can be quite the wait for a pizza or even a slice. What an absolute FIND! I am so thankful! Loved The Pizza and my brother who is a chef in town told me the secret to their crust... sooo not what I was thought it was going to be but that secret ingredient makes each and every bite an absolute slice of mouth-watering heaven. Additionally I finally found a scrumptious salad made with fresh field greens and aged balsamic instead of mostly ice-burg and tasteless, tired tomatoes almost everywhere else. You can tell Giovanni & Gulliano won't skimp on quality in any of their dishes. This was a dangerous find. I think my car will go there automatically now when ever I am in Danbury. I am constantly surprised though in this high tech & social age that businesses like Soho don't take advantage of the free resources around them though. For instance with Western Connecticut State College literally Across the street, I was surprised not to find pictures of top students, players, papers or GPA's on the wall. Why not offer a free slice to top performers who bring in 5 friends and a printed instagram of their accomplishment for the "WestConn Wall." They would have a line out the door from sun-up to sun set. Plus with a back entrance they could offer a text "to-go" order service with all of Danbury. Just have everyone order by 10Am for lunch or 4pm for dinner with a credit card on file and they would do a constant drive through or car-hop service. Sorry, I get carried away with technological and social sharing possibilities for small businesses. The bottom line is this is the best pizza in Danbury, maybe even Ct.. and it would be great to see them do really well when other places cut corners and use cheep ingredients... but we don't find THAT out until we have already paid! Payment system isnt good - they don't track orders made here (only money as this is whay they want). Many skimmers use their cards here and can't be tracked down so the victims can never find who is stealing their card number. Also they mess up orders all the time and make you pay full price for THEIR mistakes. Fishy payment/finances going on there. Also those who answer the phone are rude and get mad so fast, even when you ask for a simple request and/or address. Also, there is better pizza in the area. They always get your order wrong and especially for delivery, its horrible because your stuff is guaranteed to spill all over the place before you get it. read more

Sometimes you simply want a slice of pizza. New to the area, I had no idea where to go. Using my map app I called a half-dozen pizza shops near me. One was closed on vacation. I hung up when another answered with an automated system. Two of them didn't even answer the phone. One that did answer apologized they didn't offer by the slice. So when Soho not only answered the phone, but responded with, "we've got the best pizza by the slice in town!" I was there. Once I walked in I immediately knew it was going to be good. Minimal seating. A lineup of a half-dozen customers after the lunch rush is always a good sign (it was around 2pm). Limited choices by the slice. And my basic two cheese slices were good. Soho pizza this evening was by far one of the WORST experiences I've ever had. They are so rude & not welcoming at all. I've been going there for over six years because I love the food however their unprofessionalism was just absurd. My family has been in the pizzeria industry for over 30 years & they pride themselves on not only great pizza but amazing customer service. I ordered 1 soho spaghetti & they brought over two orders instead. He just dropped it on the table & left immediately (it was busy so I understand) but no one payed any mind to me while I tried to get their attention about the mistake. We hadn't gotten the rest of our food so after 15 min we just decided to eat the second plate he mistakenly gave us, shortly after, one of the workers came over & says "you guys only ordered one, why did you take the second?" I said well excuse me? You placed this plate on my table & walked away, we've been here for over 15min & still had not received the rest of our orders so we decided to eat it. His response: "well someone over there has been waiting for 15min." I told him I understood & was sorry but it was his fault for bringing it to my table then coming back for it after 15 minutes. He was so rude & went off speaking Albanian to the rest of the workers which I understood every single word. Nothing nice was said. Also once you put a plate on someone's table you DO NOT pick it up & give it to another customer. Huge NO!!!! I would not want my order if it was mistakenly on someone else's table for even just two minutes!!!!!! When I went up to pay, I tried to explain that there was no reason to be rude & he talked over me the entire time & didn't care at all about anything that I was saying. I was still paying full price for their mistake, & I also was NOT inquiring about a discount. I was pleased with my meal & willing to pay even though it was more expensive than two plain slices I originally ordered. I was simply asking them to be more professional. I like to give every business another chance before I give them a bad review but they truly do not give a shit about customer service. If you don't care about service & are just looking for some good pizza, I do recommend them but if you care about good customer service from a business you're supporting then this place is NOT IT. My favorite item--Grilled Veggie Wrap! It is out of this world! I find myself craving it. It's packed full of a variety of veggies that are outstanding: broccoli, eggplant, fresh mushrooms, carrots, sundried tomatoes, onions. It also has cheese on it and balsamic dressing. Fairly priced at $2 a slice! The best pizza I've had in Connecticut so far. (I like it even better than Stanziato's and Frank Pepe's, also in Danbury.) Crunchy, thin, and light, with a crisp, slightly bumpy texture on the bottom crust. Just the right ratio of sauce to cheese. Neopolitan and New York style pizza.
