Today I had my hair done for the third time here. Audrey is a magician!! She is gorgeous, has incredible style, and makes me feel beautiful every time I'm in her chair. She listens to what you want then makes it happen. I had box dyed my hair black for over a year before my first visit with her. I told her I wanted to be blonde. I know, crazy! One of my biggest fears about moving to a new place is not finding THE hair stylist. Audrey at Soleil Crew Salon helped me overcome my worries by transforming my hair into the best that it could ever look and feel! 1) Keratin Treatment: My first time having this process done to my hair was with Audrey. Not only did she do a huge hair makeover on my crispy, ombre-fried hair, she also educated me on the procedure and maintenance. The products that she suggested are ones that I would really stick by (It's a 10 Keratin Leave-In Spray, and Color Proof shampoo/conditioner). My blow drying only takes 5-10 minutes, sometimes without a round brush, and it looks smooth and healthy. I highly recommend going to Audrey for Keratin, and especially if you want to really improve the look and feel of your hair. 2) Hair Extensions: Seems like my hair has had a lot of firsts with Audrey! I've only worn clip-in extensions previously so beaded extensions are completely new to me. Audrey is a PRO at this. She took the time to go with me to the hair extensions store to pick them out. Then she put them in the next day (4 rows with trim and styling only took an hour). They did not feel super tight/itchy, and yet they are secure and hidden! This review is for my stylist, Tiffany Z. She's the shit! I've been going to her repeatedly for the past three years, and even though I've moved up to L.A., I will make the voyage down to Newport Beach every 6 weeks for my color and cut. Being a blonde (maybe naturally, maybe not!), and having been a stylist at one point in life myself, it's hard to find someone who can make my hair blonde enough. There is no yellow involved in my highlights, which is a plus because I do not have a warm-toned face. I have trouble going to brunettes because they just don't understand what it takes to get someone light enough to where they won't have yellow blonde. Tiffany, being a blonde herself, knows precisely where your color needs to be, she mixes in beautiful low-lights to add contrast as to not mottle your hair. As far as brunettes go, she swings both ways. I've seen some stunning brunettes walk out of her chair, and she can fix color mistakes that people make late on Saturday nights (BOX COLOR: NO NO!). Also, her cuts! OHGOD! What can I say, I'm a huge fan. She takes her time with each of her clients, both men and women, and cuts with precision I haven't encountered yet in my endeavors to find a great stylist. I have had hair cuts that grow out better than the cut itself, which is hard to do! She knows what a "trim" means, and texturizes to perfection. Aside from her talents when it comes to hair styling, she is just the sweetest thing since frosting. She engages in consultations and conversations, which is a huge plus for me. GO TO MICHAELA FOR BALAYAGE COLOR!!! I am so impressed by her hair skills and service of the whole salon. I went to her as a walk in with a color correction disaster. I had just gotten my hair colored and cut at a different salon that morning. After I came home and looked in the mirror, I realized that I was in serious trouble. I basically looked like Cruella de Vil. I had asked for a balayage on my original golden, brunette hair and the girl dyed my roots black and then dyed the back of my hair, this horrid bleach blonde color, which was painted on in stripes. It was by far, the worst hair service I had ever received. Panicked, I had seen Soleil just in passing on my way to the beach. I called and told them my situation just to get an opinion on what to do. The receptionist was so nice and helpful and encouraged me to come in so they would assess the damage. I ran out the door, just so happy that they were offering their help. I walked in, and while Michaela was helping someone else, she took a few minutes to greet me and see what the issue was. Michaela immediately could see I was so dissatisfied with my hair. She gave me a recommendation and reassured me that she could help, and fix the disastrous hair color. Right then, relief began to sink in. Michaela also encouraged me to call the previous salon, and ask for a refund. So I did. She was right and they did give me a refund. When I sat down, she was so nice and patient. She told me it was going to be a long process to fix the hair, and unfortunately there was no quick fix from the previous color job. I was fine with that, as long as i didn't have to live with this horrible color any longer. So we dove right in. She had to basically bleach wash all the color out, tone (several times), color again, wash, dry, color for the highlights, wash, blow dry again. It took a total of 6 hours to fix my hair, but it was so worth it! I felt so bad. This poor girl hadn't eaten, been on her feet all day, and never complained once! Michaela's is so talented in color. After being at the salon for that long, we had time to talk. She has an art background, and she really understands color. I feel like her artistic background really shows in her coloring technique. She is like an artist, painting on your hair. My highlights looks so subtle and the gradual natural placement is so good! It was exactly what I was looking for. She took me from trashy, two-toned hair, to sexy sun kissed, beach hair. She really is so amazing! Also, she gave me an amazing blow-out which stayed for days. I didn't get a full hair cut by her, but she even took time to cut a few stray pieces that she felt needed to fixed. All said in done, we left the salon around 9:30 pm, and I felt like a rockstar. Maybe it was fate to have such a hair disaster to meet Michaela. She has a client for life! So grateful to have met her! read more

Audrey is the best! I have been spoiled having my sister do my hair my whole life...it was pretty much free, she knew what I liked, and I could be honest when I wanted her to fix something. So trying to go to someone new was really challenging, because I have become super picky. I tried a few different stylists and I never loved my hair, and paying for hair I didn't love really sucked. Then I found Audrey! I've been going to Audrey for about a year now. The first time I went to her my hair was really long (rib length) with long layers, and the color was natural (dirty blonde). I wanted to go darker, but keep it low maintenance. Audrey advised doing a brown to blonde ombre with a demi color for the dark roots. She said the demi would gradually fade so I wouldn't have to touch up my roots too frequently. She was spot on! The result was beautiful, and it faded so perfectly that I didn't have obvious blonde roots showing through! I really appreciated that she figured out a way to achieve the look I wanted, but also the amount of maintenance I was willing to do. The next time I wanted to go shorter and blonder! Audrey did a medium/short graduated bob (a little longer than chin length). I was sooooooo happy with this style! I don't think I've ever had so many compliments on my hair! I showed her a lot of photos, and she completely captured the look I wanted. I have a lot of hair, and she thinned it and layered it so it laid nicely and was really easy to style without looking poofy. The highlights were just enough to brighten me up, but they stayed really natural looking (no chunky streaks). The most recent time I had her do the same cut and color because I loved it so much! Just a little bit shorter. After my last two styles I have had 5 coworkers ask me who did my hair, and 3 of them are planning to have her do theirs next time! One of them recently went to Audrey, and her result was awesome too! She had been unhappy with the way her layers fell, and needed some highlights to cover the gray. And I thought Audrey did a great job! The style looks really good on my coworker. I have yet to leave the salon less than 100% satisfied. I highly recommend Audrey! read more

First of all, I really appreciated how accommodating Tera was. I called in on Tuesday evening asking for a cut and color for that evening or the next morning. Tera informed me that her schedule was full, but she offered to see if I could trade appointments with one of her regular costumers since I was from out of town. That worked out and I was able to get an appointment on short notice, which was really nice of her to do for me. When I arrived at the salon, there was only one other customer and Tera working on her. My appointment started about 20 minutes late because the previous patron asked for more than she had scheduled. Once I got in the chair, things moved along smoothly. Tera's nails were quite long, and when she was massaging things into my scalp it kind of hurt and felt like she was scratching me. However, she was able to get my hair the color I wanted it to be with only one bleaching and toning, and that was great. She also cut my hair very well. One other thing that bothered me about the appointment was that there was a slight amount of unprofessional behavior. I felt as if Tera was acting and speaking rudely about the other patrons, and there was some strange amount of homophobic rhetoric coming from her that made me pretty uncomfortable. I don't have anything against this salon, and it seems that Tera is a nice person, but beware if you are part of the LGBT community that your conversation with your stylist might become a bit problematic. If you aren't sensitive about those subjects, and you just want a good cut/color/style, you can go here for a pretty reasonable price. read more

DO NOT GO TO TERA! This is the worst experience I've EVER had period! I was desperate to get my hair done while in town on a work trip and saw the great Yelp reviews for this salon. After coloring my hair, Tera said that my color had not turned out the way she had intended so she needed to color it again. I was worried but agreed. While she was coloring it a second time, she used a hair straightener on my foils to make the hair color "process faster" at which point my hair started burning and falling out!!
