I started going to Soleil Nails because it's walking distance from home and I've come to really like it. I only get pedicures done so that's what my review is on. Mimi the owner usually does my toes and she does a great job. I can do an OK job myself but when I have Mimi do it people comment and notice my feet. I read some other reviews and noticed one person commented on Mimi and her husband not talking enough and so she didn't feel welcome. And that person further commented on the decor being "dated." Both of these things seemed pretty bratty. Personally I am relieved to go somewhere for a pedicure where I'm not asked a million intrusive questions about my personal life and if I want to sit quietly and read, I can. However, both Mimi and her husband are friendly and kind. Mimi is happy to talk if she knows you want to talk. I've never felt unwelcome. Further, the nail shop is quite clean, and as for the decor, I can't say I noticed. It's a small salon and not fancy, and priced accordingly, and thus the decor is simple. I'd rather the simple decor and the affordable price. I've dropped in and usually they can take me. But I call first just to be safe. read more

I am baffled how this place could get such great reviews. First off, it is disgusting inside. The carpet is dirty and warped. I was nervous to sit on the seats. The decor is incredibly dated. And there are so few gel colors to pick from. So few. But... I tried to look past all that and onto the skilled technicians. Unfortunately, I must not have received those... Although the older male who did my pedicure was much better than the older female who did my nails. They did not speak to me in any friendly way until the end when only the lady asked me a few questions, trying to upgrade me and about my job. They wrapped my toes to soak off my gel (good) but asked that I dip my fingers in a bowl of acetone (bad). I asked if they could wrap them instead. They did, no problem. However, they did not file off the first layer prior to wrapping my toes or fingers and began to rip and scrape off the gel... It was so painful! They didn't go much gentler when I said something, only said to me that that is why they wanted me to soak it. I was in the most uncomfortable position, twisted with my feet in a white plastic bin on the floor (that's right) and my hands fighting to stay at a 90 degree angle on the table and later under the light. My neck and my back! Lol horrible... And to boot they charge you to remove the gel. And my fingers look like a 5 year old painted them. Toes, he done good. 2 stars, overall. Naw... I just came back to give this place one star. My friend saw my nails and immediately commented on how horrible they looked. Even asked if I was going to get them redone! She ruined the shape I had worked to get, filed them so sloppily that some are jagged, painted all outside of the lines and made them much shorter than what they needed to be. Ugh! read more

I came here recently for a gel mani and regular pedi. The cost is pretty reasonable at around 41 bucks from what I recall . The place is clean and not too crowded, which is a huge plus for me although might make you wonder ... First of all, the staff is nice and family owned . It was a hot day out and this place is not air conditioned, no big deal I guess if you don't mind a little sweat . What I do mind is the abundance of flies landing on me the entire time. Hard to enjoy my service while swapping at flies for over a hour! No screen door so what would you expect with the door wide open. As for the nail service, no complaints with the pedi as it was nicely done . I was disappointed when my gel mani started chipping only a week later . First one nail then it was like a chain reaction to the other nails. Overall, I was pretty sad my gel only lasted one week when I typically get a full 3 weeks at other spots. read more

If you want to receive GREAT service and work done, you found your place ! My friend and I walked in about 2 minutes before closing time, and they still let us in, They just said it would take a while because they had 2 other people in front of us, we waited a few minutes and they started on us. Both the lady and her husband do really great work, you'd think they'd want to hurry and get out of there as soon as possible, but they took their time. I don't know where these 5 stars are coming from. I don't typically leave reviews on Yelp I just use them to see what other people think of places, but this place really wasn't good. They didn't have very good phone skills when I called they seemed angry. and rushed. Then when I got there 20 minutes later I was the only customer in the salon the morning I went and there were two employees (husband/wife?) and the women was giving me a fresh, full-set. Mid-way thru putting my acrylics on a girl came in to get a lip wax and the technician asked if I minded if she took the other girl quickly. I'm pretty laid back so I didn't mind although found it strange I sat and waited mid-appointment for this chick to get her lip waxed hahaha well anyways, it took almost 2 hours for my nails so I assumed she was just doing a good job. Well, I noticed that She missed a few key steps my old East Coast technician did (LIKE CUTTING MY CUTICLES!) anyways, i hadn't had acrylic nails in over a year so when I say fresh set, i mean these puppies were brand spanking new. There was a lot of cuticle space when they were first done, glue all over my fingers, one week later one popped off and they were fully outgrown and BARELY two weeks later another popped off! The first time I went, she offered me free nail polish and made sure I was welcomed to her store. Of course, I returned and I've been waxing since. Mimi not only waxes most of the hairs , she goes through and plucks the remaining hairs to make sure it absolutely clean. She also gives me tips on what products I should try using. Wanted to go somewhere closer from my typical nail salon and went here to get a full set, and the whole time she was doing I couldn't help but panic it looked like she was practicing on me! They were shorter than I wanted, and my thumbs are actually two different sizes! And top it all off she add three coats of polish and a fourth clear coat, and told me "it'd be dry in 2 mins" which of course I did not believe because nails by now looked like they been made with cement. Started out as good experience with male nail technician- he did a thorough job on pedicure. Female technician made my cuticles bleed and didnt really apologize until i said something. I didn't end up getting my nails polished due to the bleeding nail beds, but they still charged me full price. They could have at least offered a discount or offered for me to come back for a polish. read more

I had the worst experience ever here and I will NEVER go back. I came in to get a gel manicure. I chose the color that I wanted on the color swatches and then the man started doing my nails. After he put the layer of the polish and I put my hands in the machine, I saw that the color was not at all like the one that I chose. I told the man, "this isn't the color that I chose." Then he started to yell at me and say, "what you mean? Why you tell me now after I did your whole hand? This is the color u chose!" And I showed him the color swatch on the fake nails and the color on my nails and it was completely different. So I asked if they could take it off and put a different color. The man and woman who I'm assuming are the owners started going back and fourth. Then the woman came and started trying to soak my fingers in acetone and tried scraping the polish off. It wasn't coming off. After about 40 mins all together, I told her I needed to leave. It was a Friday afternoon and I didn't have time to sit there for 45 mins while they attempted to change the color for me. I told her I wanted to leave and I did not want to pay. The man started yelling and saying I'm calling the police! I said call the police, I'm not paying $25 for scraped off nails. This was the worst experience I've ever had in a nail salon.
