Since I'm a fan of Hy's and Quiora, I had to check this place out as well, as all three are under the same company--and I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint. It's located at the Ritz-Carlton Residences Waikiki Beach and is open from breakfast through dinner. The atmosphere is casual, and while there were quite a few children, it didn't feel chaotic at all, which I appreciated. That said, the jacuzzi right outside our table was bubbling pretty loudly, and I couldn't help but feel a bit like a fish in a tank at times. Our waiter was attentive and easily the hardest-working person in the restaurant (I wish I had caught his name!). There was some lingering chatter at the bar despite no customers seated there, so it took a while for us to get our first drinks. That initially worried me, but it ended up being the only hiccup. Our waiter acknowledged the delay and apologized, even though it clearly wasn't his fault. After that, the service flowed smoothly. We ordered the House Mai Tai and Hibiscus Margarita--both were excellent, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. One thing to note: the menu had just changed that day, which caught us off guard since we had looked it up online the night before. It took us a bit longer to decide what to order because of that. We started with the Edamame Hummus, which unfortunately fell a bit flat--it could have used more seasoning or a bit of a kick, like the cumin you'd typically expect in hummus. Next were the Crispy Wings with wasabi yukari salt and a side of yuzu ranch, which were flavorful and enjoyable. The Garlic Seared Ahi was decent but not particularly memorable, and the portion felt a bit small for the price. Lastly, we had the B.A.A.L.T. Sandwich (featuring Nueske's bacon, ahi katsu, avocado, local greens, Kawamata tomatoes, and yuzu kosho aioli on marble rye). This was quite good overall, though the smokiness of the bacon was slightly overpowering. Overall, I had a great experience and was glad to check off all three restaurants under the same umbrella.

On a lovely Friday night at sunset, we dined on their patio and enjoyed lite bites before our next engagement. From the lobby floor, our table was situated nicely by the piano with an excellent view at sunset. About the same time as our dinner, was a festival going on, complete with marching band. Our Server was quite friendly and helpful. Delilah did a great job telling us about their specials. She ensured we knew about dessert too! We shared the seafood platter which included oysters, shrimp, poke, and caviar. The caviar was served with toast, creme fraische, chives, and egg. Would have been nice for the caviar to have an appropriate serving spoon but we managed. We also shared the flat iron Steak which was medium rare. It came with a nice steak sauce. Very tender and tasty but could have been served at a warner temperature. For dessert, we had a lovely dark chocolate and cookie dough bite with macadamia nuts. Additionally we had a yuzu and kalamansi bite in a delicate pastry shell. Don't forget Friday night fireworks! Great view from the patio dining. They even dim the lights for better viewing during the fireworks. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Located in the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Waikiki. Outdoor restaurant, overlooking Waikiki- you'll see hotels and the Ocean. The tables face the ocean view. The atmosphere for brunch is very calm, peaceful, and relaxing. It's a quiet environment, not loud at all. Service is very good. Food is amazing. Definitely recommend the crab cake benedict. Loved everything about this meal. I got lucky and found street parking right by the hotel. Went for a bday brunch. It is pricey but worth it.

Solera is one of the many restaurants attached to the Ritz Carlton Residences in Waikiki that offers breakfast/brunch. If you're staying at the Ritz Carlton, you may have a breakfast credit that you can use here, but note that a 20% gratuity is included in the bill. The inside is nicely decorated and it's open air with a nice view of the horizon on all of the tables closest to the edge. At night you can catch an amazing sunset view with your dinner as it faces westward. The staff were all super polite and eager to accommodate any requests we had. They have a pretty vast menu offering traditional american breakfast, japanese bento box style breakfast, and some other classics with Hawaiian twists. Our group tried the Signature Lemon pancakes, Bento Box, Chicken & Waffles, Loco Moco and fruit plate. The lemon pancakes were super fluffy and included an ube coconut sauce which our group enjoyed. The bento box had an amazing piece of King Salmon that was grilled to perfection. It had crispy skin and a perfect amount of seasoning that paired well with the rice and salad. There was also some fresh papaya, miso soup, tamago and natto which were tasty side dishes. The loco moco had some fluffy rice with a nice sweet sauce on top of the meat and eggs. Our group really enjoyed this dish and recommend it. The chicken & waffles had crispy chicken with a sweet/spicy gochujang maple syrup that paired well with the waffle to absorb some of the spice. Overall really solid breakfast and we appreciated how kind the service was here.

Honestly impressed with my meal here. Came with my aunt and uncle and shared most of the dishes. To start, the ambiance of the restaurant is very nice since it overlooks Honolulu and the water. Really liked the open air concept. For appetizers, we got the johnny cornbread, chilled tofu, and strawberry and beet salad. The cornbread was a small portion but delicious, and the tofu was surprisingly flavorful. Wasn't a fan of the salad. I got the catch of the day, which was an amberjack. It was cooked so well and came on top of a yummy bed of squash. My aunt got the mushroom risotto. Now I normally don't like risotto but this one was so flavorful. I'd probably come back just for the risotto.

Service: Our server Victoria was really sweet and consistently checking in on us. The options of food she suggested were all on point. Food: I had the miso butterfish, and that was so yummy and melted in your mouth! My friend had the garlic crab noodles that was so tasty!!

At Solera, you get a meal/experience with a view! Everyone from the valet to the restaurant staff were all very kind and friendly as well. We went for breakfast at about 10:15am on a Sunday and it was very relaxed but beautiful. The restaurant is open air, with a beautiful view of the ocean in the distance. It was a nice, sunny day but not hot because the restaurant sits recessed into the hotel walls. The food was DELICIOUS. My partner had the set breakfast special and I got the Twice-Fried Korean-Style Chicken and Waffle at the recommendation of my excellent and personable server, Summer. I wasn't sure what to get and she had multiple good recommendations, like the chicken and waffles and even the drinks (I had mango juice). The Korean chicken and waffle was so delicious. It's a twist on chicken and waffles for breakfast and I'm so glad I tried it. The dishes are made with locally grown foods (I love local farm to table ingredients), and everything was so fresh. The Korean chicken was bursting with flavor and was nicely mixed with daikon and topped with some local greens and flower petals. The waffle was crispy and the sweetness of the syrup went well with the saltier/spicier chicken. I also got to try some of my partners fresh fruit and the banana bread pancake from his set menu too and it was SO GOOD. The pancake was a banana break pancake, topped with a Chantilly sauce and coconut flakes, and it was like a whole dessert in itself. I would definitely get this if it were added to the regular menu. Service was excellent here as well and our drinks never ran dry and our table was always cleared promptly of any empty dishes. Summer and all of the restaurant staff were always smiling, being very personable, and making sure we were tended to. Overall, I loved coming here and loved everything about Solera, from the food to the people!

Came here long ago when it was La Vie and it looks like they rebranded. They're located in the Ritz. The views from the restaurant is so scenic and perfect for a special occasion, especially at sunset. Overall, food was great. We started off with the cornbread - it had a lot going on but the flavors all blended well together. I don't know how else to describe it except for unique. Their steaks come with their crushed Parmesan's potatoes and a sauce, so it's really nice instead of the usual Ala carte menus you see at steakhouses. The steak was cooked perfectly and I loved the potatoes. I got the bordelaise and it was good but I definitely prefer the chimichurri. To round out the night, they have a dessert tray that they bring around and it's included in the meal. They had 3 types of desserts and you can choose to try some or all of it. I got one of each but my friend only wanted one type, so they gave her an extra piece of it. Service was super friendly and they were happy to answer our questions. Had a great experience!

First off, I thought the food was really, really good. The only thing better than the food was the service! I'm born and raised here but don't go into Waikiki too often. This was a nice treat for us, a leisurely Sunday brunch. Looked like there were some Ritz residents dining as well and it was a very relaxed vibe. I ordered the Mahalo Fest 2026 set menu which included fresh fruit, miso butterfish chazuke, and banana bread pancakes. SO glad I ordered that on the recommendation of our server, Summer. She also recommended the mango juice and that was excellent too. - Fresh fruit: your usual assortment with a yuzu syrup. The fruit was ice cold and super sweet. - Miso butterfish chazuke: butterfish was cooked perfectly. I'm pretty picky with fish since we can get it everywhere and I cook all kinds of fish at home. It had no bones, had a great color to it and was a good portion. It was on top white rice and you get tea poured table side into your bowl (thank you to Rubon, who was very friendly!) - Banana bread pancakes: wow. Would definitely order this by itself. I love banana bread so this was one of my faves. I highly recommend whatever specials they have, like the Mahalo Fest set that I had. Yes, you're paying a little more here but you're also paying for the service and view. It was so relaxing looking out into the blue sky and Waikiki beach skyline. We never had the chance to ask for anything because we always had our water and coffee refilled, new utensils after our entree, and our empty dishes were cleared immediately. Like everyone, we're on a budget but life is short so sometimes you have to treat yourself. Thank you to Summer and everyone else there, we'll definitely be back! The restaurant validates your parking if you park just to dine here which is nice, and the valet service was great. Helpful hint: the roundabout to park is inside the half roundabout you see from the street. You drive into and over the stone driveway (which looks like a sidewalk).

Wonderful!!! We were escorted by Quiora's Manager Preston (from dining there for dinner to Solera for dessert). The vibe here is upscale comfort with its open air and amazing views of Waikiki and ocean views at the Ritz Carlton. This is the perfect place to watch the Friday fireworks without the crowd and fuss of parking since valet service is available. Their menu is extensive with a fine list of well known brands of spirits. The menu is also filled with incredible cuisine we have yet to experience. Hubby loved that they had a six course Chef's Menu and would like to try it next time. Love the smooth music played by the cool pianist as you enter. It was very relaxing on a pau hana Friday evening. We were fortunate to have an incredible hostess Kira greet us and server Daniel who was attentive and sweet. Manager Marcus was friendly and kind as we wanted to earn our stamps to complete our Mahalo card. We definitely will come back for dinner with some friends. Tonight we had their famous Hashi-gori dessert which was light and flavorful-the pistachio and chocolate. Very airy like a Taiwanese shaved ice without the jellies. I had chamomile tea which paired well with our dessert. I wish I could share more but perhaps in my next review when we have a full meal and with friends & family. This is definitely a hidden gem that we will add to the G. Lion of restaurants (Hy's, Quiora, & Solera, and their lovely online bake shop)!

Opened in March 2025, a new dining concept from the owner of both Hy's Hawaii and Quora; a Hawaii regional cuisine steakhouse. It needs a lot of work. Across the board, dishes are under seasoned, over cooked, and poorly thought out. For example the "Cornbread Johnny cake", a sweetened corn meal pancake topped with equal portions of an egg mousse and whipped honey butter, dotted with caviar and micro greens. Warm. The first bite solid but due to the excess honey butter, the dish becomes too sweet. It overpowers the caviar. Eventually your tongue and roof of your mouth are greasy. Another example, "Seafood Koshikari Risotto", WTF? Shrimp and fish (they ran out of mussels) are cut into tiny pieces and cooked with well washed, starch free Koshikari rice in a seafood saffron broth that must have included oyster jus. The result is revolting. Extremely overcooked rubber bullets with soupy smelly, briny rice. Topping it with the wrong microgreen turns the entire dish bitter. The "Chilled Crab Salad" made of imitation crab (the only real crab it could have been is king crab body meat but this lacked crab flavor or any sweetness) for $45. One dimensional lacking seasoning. No taste of the supposed dill and citrus dressing. For overcooked and under seasoned, both the catch of the day, ono, and a roasted chicken served with charred black but still raw broccoli, fit the description. As for the complimentary dessert offerings; what happened to the sugar? Pass. The highlight of the entire meal, the "Hashi-gori". A take on the traditional Japanese kakigori. Ordered the mango. Outstanding. Powdery ice topped with a sauce made from pureed fresh mango and condensed milk studded with fresh mango. Wow and the only food item keeping the rating at two stars. Service is very good. Live piano music a nice touch. Extremely disappointing from a restaurant that has had its grand opening and an unfit dining option to offer to guests of a Ritz Carlton property.

Really serene and inviting place to have breakfast in Waikiki. Our server Summer was delightful and very kind, and service was prompt, didn't have to wait long at all for the food. Prices are definitely on the higher side but do keep in mind this restaurant is located in the Ritz Carlton Waikiki. I was staying a night there so I had the $80 AMEX FHR credit to spend, but still spent over that amount due to the already added gratuity. Overall, if I'm staying at the Ritz again I would definitely come back to dine here.

My husband made a reservation for my birthday dinner at Solera, and we had a great time last night! Our server, Delilah, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable on the menu. Our table had a great view of the sunset, and we appreciated that they had shades to put down when it started pouring rain! We both had the chef's favorites menu, which was a five course meal. Each dish was very spaced out, and the experience took about two hours. My favorite dish was actually designed by our server and was an option to either add or upgrade the third course to. It was an oxtail pesto pasta with squash purée. It was an interesting combination of flavors, but it worked out so well! We thoroughly enjoyed each course. The johnnycake was actually the first time I enjoyed caviar, as I have not liked it in the past. There were a lot of dishes that sounded good on the menu, but I would definitely recommend the tasting menu!

    Ask the Community - Solera

Hi, this restaurant is no longer La Vie/is a completely different restaurant now, correct? Where is the Yelp page for The Terrace Waikiki as this page is named that when someone Google searches? Thanks

    Any vegan or vegetarian menu?

    What is the dress code?

    Hawaii Formal.

Is it a kids friendly restaurant?

No kid menu. The menu is a bit fancy for young ones!

During covid, is it normal for people to book for the late time slots due to crazy amount of reservations up to a month(8:45PM and 9:00PM)? I was a server for years and remember that feeling when there was a last minute reservation or walk in.

Reservations are filling up due to limited seating and increase of tourists. Reservations are hard to get and during poplar times, so booking a month or more in advance is the norm these days. Late time slots are all that is usually left. Only…

What is the corkage fee here?

It is $40 for each bottle.

    Is there a DJ?

La Vie is a French restaurant, not a night club.

Does everyone in the same party have to order the same amount of dishes?

You can order 3 or 5 course but it's better to order same amount of courses. The 5 course takes longer and the people with the 3 courses may have a long wait in between courses.

    What is the dress code?

There is no strictly-enforced dress code as we did see some people in T-shirt and shorts. I believe it is "resort wear" as the restaurant is in a hotel in Waikiki and the restaurant is open-air so it can get hot.

How long does it take to go through the five course tasting menu? (Want to go before an 8pm show at the Blaisdell)

I'd probably not have any post dinner obligations when dining at this establishment. It is French style which almost always means a slow paced care free flow. You might want to come with no after-plans so you can enjoy the evening and the food…

And boy were we both blown away (so much so that I believe she returned the next day with others!). The menu had been completely revamped and seemed to take on a more local influence while still being very upscale. Since we both enjoy "sampling" we shared two appetizer and a main. Everything was bursting with flavor! This is what we had: Starter salad from the seasonal menu of watermelon, strawberries, blueberries and greens served on a bed of yuzu infused goat cheese and drizzled with a shiso chimmichuri sauce. Yes, bursting with flavor! I would return for just this dish! Next shared was a tempura battered cauliflower served with a robust curry and yogurt reduction. Deeeelicious. I wouldn't say we licked the plate... but I won't deny it. Hahah. Finally shared the seafood in curry soup (think a lighter version of laksa) served with white rice on the side. Holy moly. No words to describe. Portions were generous enough to share still next time, I won't. That memorable you won't want to share. No longer serving volcano black rolls, tho absolutely serving amazingly wonderful dishes. Volcano black pancakes still available at breakfast. We kept on oooing and ahhhing and asking about the chef. Our servers Gale and Lily, who provided the most awesome service told us "Chef Lance" (as he is affectionately called) moved over from the Mariposa (Restaurant in Neiman Marcus) over a year ago. Further research revealed Chef Lance Kosaka has brought experience from noteworthy restaurants: Top of Waikiki, Merriman's, 53 By the Sea, and most recently Mariposa. I am hoping he will bring in a notable creme brulee that I loved at both the Top as well as Mariposa! Not wanting the deliciousness of Chef Steve's cooking to end, I also ordered a warabi salad to go for the next day. It was...just as wonderful as the other dishes we enjoyed. Thank you to Servers Gale and Lily, Chef Steve, actually...the entire staff who elevated a casual evening of dining to be a most memorable experience! Thank you to sister friend Karen who insisted we dine here, for the most wonderful company and meal. Validated parking in the building accessed on Seaside. And my sandwich was amazing: the garlic chicken hoagie, topped with macaroni salad. My only nit to pick is that, while the fries were tasty, I wish I could have had a larger portion of the salad as my side dish. The chicken was great, but the macaroni salad was incredible. I scraped it off to eat separately. The plate also came with a little dish of sweet pickles, which complemented the rich chicken and mac salad nicely. The attached market is also a little more posh than the thousands of ABC stores, so take a spin through after you eat. There's also a coffee stand and a flatbread place, but the pièce de résistance of this marketplace is definitely Basalt.

We had the prie fixed menu. The scallop dish was my favorite, and the "baked potato" was my wife's. We were there for about two hours and only saw around three other parties, so the whole place just felt really quiet and empty. The one bright spot was the service. There was only one server working, and he was incredibly nice, friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We got the set menu. We started with the hamachi crudo, which was good. The beet dish was really pretty, but I thought it was a little bland and didn't have much flavor. They also had their own take on a baked potato with sour cream and chives, which was actually really yummy. The shrimp/prawn dish with the butter sauce was probably my favorite dish of the night. The bao was okay, and unfortunately, the chicken adobo was extremely salty. It was also basically a huge piece of chicken with adobo sauce, so it wasn't really my favorite. We were really excited to try the rabbit butter mochi because we'd heard so much about it. It was super cute and definitely one of the most unique presentations, but unfortunately, it tasted like soap. We wondered if maybe the mold had been washed right before serving because there was a very strong dish soap-like taste to it. LOL. Obviously, things happen, but it was especially disappointing because I really wanted to enjoy the butter mochi. Also, the tap water was honestly some of the worst restaurant water I've ever had. It tasted very strongly like a pipe or metal. I even asked for lemon wedges, but it still tasted the same. I never complain about water, but this was genuinely difficult to drink.

We came for happy hour, and the taco was amazing. The slider cheeseburger was so good, and honestly, I didn't even mind that it only came with one patty because the flavor was incredible. The real standout, though, was the Stuffed Crusted Chicken with mashed potatoes I travel often and have lived in Southern California , so I've had my fair share of great restaurants, and this chicken was absolutely unreal. I've eaten at plenty of places over the years, but nothing has consistently impressed me like Tommy Bahama. The food is outstanding, the live music creates such a fun atmosphere, and the rooftop is the perfect place to relax. This place truly feels like a hidden gem. If you're visiting Waikiki, this is a must-stop. We'll definitely be back, and we'll definitely be asking for Simi again!

The restaurant is located on the upper floors of their retail clothing store, right in the heart of the main Waikiki shopping street. We walked over from our hotel, so didn't have to worry about parking. Given the central location, I can imagine parking may be a bit challenging. I had the roast beef dip, which I thought was good (4/5). Others generally thought the food was good (not great). Overall, a good meal and I don't think the food is the selling point of this location.

An old friend knew we were heading back and sent me an IG post where Māze x Bar Leather Apron were doing a collab on Mon and Tues. Sjnce we didn't have dinner plans, we showed up at around 4:40 only to see 1 other person waiting in line as we were searching for parking. To our surprise, there were 7 people in front of us by the time we lined up! Sadly we were seated at a high top table off in the corner as a lady took the last open seat. For this collab, they didn't have a ton of food items so ordering was fairly straight forward, ordered 1 of everything. First cocktail I had was the pepper-tonic which was quite tasty! Otsumami - consisted of 3 snacks (seasoned cashews, pickled cabbage and warm olives). Thought the pickled cabbage was quite tasty and the cashews were just so so. Skipped the olives since I'm not a fan but the wifey enjoyed them. Salmon - it was mentioned that this was the chef's signature dish but sadly was mediocre for me. The salmon had a very distinct flavor which I wasn't a fan of. Wagyu - tartare on potato paves which was sadly just ordinary for me. thought the tartare lacked flavor. Cheese - unique twist of what i was expecting. the flavor of the dish was good but wished there was more of a crunch to it. this wasn't hot when it was brought out so perhaps it was sitting a bit before it was served to us. Fries - likely my favorite dish for the night but sadly our order seemed like 1/2 everyone else's portion as our bowl was half filled while other customers were filled to the top. ended up ordering another order just to snack on while I enjoyed the imperial cocktail. Enjoyed the casual ambience of this collab but sadly not sure we'd come back for a regular set meal in the future. This week's menu seems to be more thought out and wished they had their "baked potato" last week. Will definitely head back to Bar Leather Apron as their drinks were fantastic!

Reservation was at 8:45 place was empty by the way yet it took 20 + minutes to be seated. I was seated outside but it was dark so the view was gone and it was cold and raining. The server didn't come for about 10 minutes where I asked to be moved. I was moved to a covered table and we got a new server where we promptly ordered. My sons kids meal came out and his tenders were actually delicious as well as the fries . My food took over 20 minutes to arrive only after I made eye contact with my server and he rushed to the back to grab my food, I'm guessing he had forgotten about it because my short rib arrived cold. Like literally cold to the touch. The mashed potatoes were warm and those were great as well as the veggies . I didn't complain because nobody ever came back to check us on or offer a refill or anything . To pay was a hassle also as they only had 1 server helping and he was tied up with a big table for over 20 minutes that was arguing how to split up a bill. I eventually flagged down a bartender and she went and grabbed my original server from the back. The whole night things kept going wrong . I did have a mai tai earlier in the day from their happy hour which was great but dinner is a no-go for me here now.

I'd never been to their other locations, so this was my first experience -- and honestly, it left an impression. That spot in Kapolei has seen a few restaurants come and go over the years. Before Scratch Kitchen, there was Sugar Cane, and if I reach far enough back, I'm pretty sure a Mexican restaurant lived there too. It's one of those spaces where you hope the next place finally sticks. But the food at Scratch Kitchen? Absolutely delicious. The kind of meal where the pictures alone make your mouth water. If "smell‑a‑vision" or "lick‑your‑screen" technology existed, everyone would understand exactly what I mean. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully done, and perfect for a Mother's Day treat. Which is why I can't help but wonder what happened -- like so many restaurants before them in that same location. With food that good, you'd hope they'd be the ones to break the cycle. All in all, I'm grateful I got to enjoy that meal with my daughter. It was memorable, delicious, and one of those small moments you hold onto. Marie

Either way, it made for a super relaxed experience with no wait and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the food. Loved: The street tacos with the tempura shrimp were easily the star of the meal. 100% worth it. Light, crispy shrimp with a flavorful slaw and just the right amount of heat--basically a flavor party in every bite. The burger was another quiet star. Juicy patties, nicely seasoned, and stacked just right. Nothing super flashy, but really satisfying. Definitely a good pick if you're not in the mood for brunchy stuff. The Miss: Tried the French toast and... meh. It looked great on the plate but tasted dry and definitely didn't live up to the level of the other dishes. Might've just been an off day or a matter of personal taste, but I'd skip it next time.
