Had a nice Thursday evening dinner with a friend and tried out the new summer menu. We split two Apps, the summer squash hummus and the watermelon salad. Both felt seasonal, fresh and has great flavor. They kindly accommodated our request for veggies only with the hummus and we appreciated the variety of lovely fresh vegetables. For dinner I got the spaghetti squash entrée, and my friend tries the lobster risotto. She said the risotto was excellent and I liked the lightness of the vegetable spaghetti dish. We saved room to try dessert and she thought the butter cake was wonderful and worth it. I tried the fudge based dessert, the mango ice cream it came with his heavenly with little crumbles under it. I couldn't get through more than two bites of the rich fudge cake so I advise splitting it with a number of people, just don't share the mango ice cream. Cute decor and good service too! read more

Designed fantastically with a beautiful architectural design down to each food courses we had. The experience was so inviting from a well greeted happy pleasant staff to each sensational dishes. Good food and a wonderful ambience, but at a price point that's too high. For example, 5 Donut holes with 3 side glazes (strawberry, chocolate, and caramel) goes for $15. Two crab cake Benedicts with a small side salad is $29. And an omelette with one meat and two veggies or cheeses is $17. It may be just the $3/per normal sized donut hole that is overly pricy. For my husband's birthday, we made reservations at Solstice to celebrate. His mom and stepdad joined us for dinner. We arrived early and were seated straightaway in the dining room. On the table was an envelope with "Happy Birthday" on it. It was a signed card from the staff which was very sweet. The restaurant has a clean, modern vibe touting seasonal menus. We were offered still or sparkling water to start. My husband and I looked at the drink menus which looked great but we didn't order anything. His parents arrived shortly after and we were given the food menus. One of the servers came by with a tray of complimentary champagne because we were celebrating a birthday, which was really nice. His stepdad ordered a margarita. I had downloaded the Solstice app and ordered a complimentary Parker rolls appetizer ($8). I showed the app to the server and he acknowledged it, but he forgot to adjust the charge on our bill. We decided on the 32 oz. Porterhouse ($93) for the table, poached asparagus ($10), spring peas ($11), fries x 2 ($10x2), and the salmon ($31). The food arrived shortly after the Parker rolls. Everything was really good and fresh. We enjoyed the meal and conversation. For dessert, we had the Brown Butter Fudge Cake ($13) and the Butter cake ($13). The fudge was gluten-free so it was great for SFIL. Both desserts were a great finish to a lovely meal. The server did stop by to validate our parking and give us the bill. Once we paid, no one came by to refill our waters or ask if anything else was needed. We sat there chatting for a while after the check was paid and picked up but I could have used some more water and didn't want to get up to grab the pitcher, even if I was sorely tempted to do so. The food and service was great up until then. I guess next time I'll have to ask for water before paying. Solstice is located at the Boardwalk off of Jamboree in Irvine. It's a business complex with the restaurant on the ground floor. Parking is easy and free with validation. I definitely recommend Solstice for special occasions or a date night. They offer happy hour and have a solid menu. There is a small outdoor patio with seating (and patio warmers) as well if you aren't comfortable in the dining room. read more

Love this place! Great for a happy hour, special occasion or a casual but nice date night out. Parking is in the structure next to the restaurant and is validated. Lots of great wines by the glass or Coravin glass if cocktails are not your jam. The ambiance is modern but comfy and warm. We enjoyed the potato leek soup, the mussels and the wedge salad. The salmon and the short rib were spectacular. We were too full for dessert but because it was my birthday, they brought a lovely chocolate dessert topped with strawberries and coconut shavings. The service was top notch! We got some bubbles to kick off the meal and I really loved my hand written card. This is my new favorite spot! I would rate my overall experience a 8/10. The ambiance was cozy, even though it was very busy. The service was impeccable- the server was nice enough to comp my mom's soup because she didn't like the texture/aftertaste. (My parents had the salads, and they weren't the best but they weren't bad.) The drinks and entrees are delicious! I had the salmon, fall-tini, and the french 75. Came here for a late mothers day on a Monday. Odd that they only allowed us to make a reservation for outside and very last minute said we could have a table inside. There was no one else dining there (okay maybe 1 other table) It looked nice but something was off. The staff had attitude as if they didn't want to be there (food runners). They would plop our plates down and take off. They barely even presented our food when it came to the short rib (smoke dome) and roasted chicken. It was as if they could care less about our dining experience. There was no other customers there to serve and we did not have any tall requests. We ordered beers and a bottle of white wine. Parker house rolls were nothing special. No one liked the apricot jam (way too sweet and did not pair well with the rolls). Roasted cauliflower was by far the best thing we had there. Roasted chicken was seasoned on only 1 side of the chicken *eye roll* it was a large portion though. Lobster gnocchi was whatever. It did not have the texture of pillowy and soft that you would expect for a gnocchi. They were pretty dense. Sauce could have been slightly thickened. The wagyu was okay. Nothing too special. Annoyed bc within our greens we found a rather large bug near the end of our meal. They said they wash their vegetables very thoroughly and it was a bug that probably flew in. Um no. The bug was a common vegetable bug and it was the size of a lady bug. We did not seek anything from bringing this to their attention. They offered dessert or if we would like to abstain from dessert, they would take off an entree ($37). We chose dessert bc we were celebrating. Honestly, food is just average. Perhaps if I really had to, I would say the towels in the bathroom aren't those super nice towels that you wouldn't mind taking home. That's how good everything else was! Solstice is a place for the refined pallette. Those who are spoiled by massive salt and overpowering sauces may not enjoy this fine dining to its fullest. The atmosphere at this restaurant is great. We went here for lunch and at lunch they do offer free valet. We had a reservation and we're seated pretty quickly. The table was made up very nice. However, after cleaning it before we sat down the table was still very wet. I would expect more from such a nice place. I was happy to see that the menu clearly labeled vegan options. I got the carrot spaghetti, and the waiter made sure that I knew that there was no pasta and that it was just carrot with the sauce. As it was the only main dish that was Vegan, I ordered it. It was very delicious and I know the chef can obviously cook vegan food. However, it really was not a meal and for $22, this was disappointing. I know that they can make a better Vegan Main option. They could even improve upon this dish by adding more substance or additional ingredients to it. Being such an expensive dish I should feel satisfied after eating an entrée. Both of my friends enjoyed their meals. The server was really nice and made sure to keep things quick as we were taking lunch on a weekday and had to get back to the office. I really appreciate the great service and know this restaurant could get a four or five star rating if they improve their vegan options. read more

Food 1. Porter Rolls: topped with apricot spread and a spiced butter, the crunch is phenomenal! The bread is definitely made in-house 2. Carrot Burrata Salad: the basil pesto is delicious! The salad is so fresh and refreshing, omg so good! The vinaigrette wasn't overpowering and everything went together so well. 3. Pan roasted salmon: deliciously cooked, pink, and the best part, the skin was crispy! 4. Wagyu Pappardelle: the handmade pasta was divine, the Wagyu was tender, and the sauce was not overpowering at all. 5. Strawberry butter cake: just get it and thank me later. Celebrated an occasion with my partner and the service was impeccable. I'll start with that the team at Solstice is amazing at providing an experience. Personal shout out to Emily our server and Giancarlo at the bar for making this an occasion to remember. The restaurant is very modern and bright with plenty of space to enjoy your meal and not feel too close to any other party. Now, for the food and drink. The seasonal cocktail offerings are delicious; the watermelon margarita was everything I want in a summer drink. Our appetizer, the hummus, was super fresh tasting. Preemptive TL;DR - delicious food and excellent service, but the atmosphere is lacking. When we initially walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff but were a little disappointed by a cheap, hackneyed aesthetic that wasn't on par with how the rest of our dining experience unfolded. Though pricey, their specialty drinks are excellent. As an appetizer, we tried their take on deviled egg toast - which was incredibly unique and creatively presented. An awesome start. It was pretty empty on a Friday night at 7:30 pm. Our server was a very nice and welcoming gentleman. The kitchen is open style so you can see the chefs cooking. The restaurant style feels very open and has nice decor. Definitely a trendy restaurant with tall glass windows throughout. We were lucky enough to receive some complimentary tastings on a spoon from the chefs. The Cocktails are well made here and would be worth it. The cheese and charcuterie platter was a decent amount compared to what other places try to offer. For American food, it is leaning on the pricier side for the amount of food you get on the entrees. If we didn't order drinks and appetizers we would probably still be hungry with just an entree each (we had a party of 7). We noticed they added more potatoes to the Malbec Wagyu Short Rib dish from prior times, which is nice to know they're listening to feedback. First of all, the decor here is on point, and it's my style- modern, lots of neutral color, floral decor and painting decor are also on point( we did see some influencer taking photos in the patio) The drinks are so nicely presented, I had the mezcal drink and it was the blue color with the flowers, it had the smoky taste, wish it was a lit sweeter, a little too sour. Friend had the tequila drink with ginger syrup, it had a lot of citrus component. Brunch food started with the biscuits, it was too dry. Brunch burger was everything! I've been to Solstice for both brunch (summer) and dinner (winter), and it's definitely a place you go for vibes over food. The interior is very upscale and beautiful. It'd be a great place for an after work dinner or romantic date. It's probably also good for cocktails with friends if you're in the area. It's neat that the menu is seasonal. Although the presentation of the dishes were nice, the food was just okay. Unfortunately, there was nothing memorable or especially delicious about any of the dishes. Even the parker house rolls were just okay. I most recently came with a group of 8 to celebrate a birthday, and we all left feeling happy we tried the restaurant but with no intention to return. Solstice is located in the office building complex closest to the parking structure. You can either self park and get validated or valet. The restaurant is contemporary and features seasonal flavors so the menu can rotate. They also have a large selection of speciality alcoholic beverages. My husband and I met up for lunch and the crowd was mostly business people and hence the pace of our lunch was good and we didn't have to wait too long to order, nor wait too long for our food. Service was outstanding - as is the food and ambiance. Arian was our server and he was outstanding giving us top notch service. The 2 of us shared the seasonal homemade bread Parker House rolls, the Greens & Grains Salad (Quinoa, Avocado, Goat Cheese, Poached Root Vegetables, Pomegranate Seeds, Mustard Vinaigrette) and the mushroom risotto.
