I've been here numerous times and the food is tasty and consistent. Breakfast is my fav especially the skillets. Service this time was lacking. No sense of urgency to seat your guests and clean off tables. I understand there is a shortage of staff everywhere in the valley, but people need to lead by example. I hate giving places a bad review but don't waste your time or money going here. This is my third time going and the experiences just kept getting worse. This last time we waited almost an hour for 3 hamburgers and fries. They were so dried out that I sent them back but still had to pay for them. "Great for locals" is what you should expect from here. If you have traveled and had better foods than this place will definitely bring you to disappointment. Service took forever, I ordered the corned beef hash and it was pretty much diced up ham with onions and peppers. So it wasn't actually anything it was intended to be. Two of us waited an hour and a half for our breakfast, after waiting a half hour to be seated. Waited for coffee refills. Food was ok, definitely not worth the wait. If they can't staff the place, they need to tell people about the wait - otherwise, you have unhappy customers. Nobody wants to waste half their day on eating breakfast. read more

If you're looking for a good breakfast that will remind you of grandma's house, this is the place to go. Bring your patience as the wait can get long on busy mornings (it's definitely worth the wait). I'm not much of a breakfast person, but I loved it enough to go back a second time. The first time I got the huge portion of French toast made with their homemade bread, the second time the cinnamon roll. Delicious! My hubby loves breakfast, and got the more standard eggs and bacon. We stopped by this quaint little place for breakfast as we were leaving Somers while on vacation. A few friends who are local recommended it highly and we were not disappointed. I had the breakfast enchilada which had the most amazing sauce as well as crispy potatoes. My husband had an omelet and he loved his dish as well. Went in on Friday and was confronted with all the locals and tourists in there. Excellent! Any place this crowded had to be good. It was great. I did have a long wait for my food after ordering. 3 cups of coffee. It was worth a wait for a good breakfast. My eggs were perfect, the house bread is very good but a little airy. Not much body. And the bacon was superb. I had hash browns hoping to get crisper potatoes. Eh, next time I will try the house version. The servers were very busy but did a good job keeping up. If you find yourself in the beautiful Flathead Valley area of Montana, do yourself a favor and wander into the Somers Bay Cafe. The food is delicious, the portions are generous. They make their own (very good) bread. The servers are friendly and they keep your coffee cup full. Just one small gripe, it takes awhile for the food to come out of the kitchen. If you know this in advance, you can be mentally prepared to wait for your food to arrive at the table. Believe me, it is worth the wait.
