Great specials! It seems as though they have a new chef, and I have ordered a few of their nightly specials and throughly enjoyed them! The prices are reasonable, and the casual atmosphere makes it a good place to go if you are in a hurry. Some of the waitresses have yet to be desired, though there are a few that are great (I always ask for Chrissy or Marie) - they're probably the two best ones. This terrible restaurant really made us sick. My son ordered Cheese Burger Sliders. And they're not even sliders, it's literally just a regular cheese burger just cut into 4. As Diners go this is near the worse. Ok here we go. Snapper Soup was watery and bland. Shrimp Cocktail was served HOT? Onion Soup was strange tasting and the cheese was skimpy and was not served hot. Nice location right before you enter OCEAN CITY. It's right before the bridge. Big size diner, lots of parking. You can't miss it! Very nice friendly workers. Pretty big menu and you can get from breakfast, sandwiches, seafood, pasta, to burgers. The waiter was really nice & quick with our orders & food. I enjoyed the mozzarella sticks & I had a pizza burger. Which I had to pay extra for lettuce and tomato ! That's part of my why they didn't get 5 stars also they barely had most of the side orders on the menu like cole slaw, potato salad, rice or even much fries left. For a 24 hr diner I wouldn't think u run out of so much food at once. The prices were decent and I enjoyed the location and staff. I am very upset with all of the negative reviews on Yelp...remember this is a diner and not a Michelin Stared restaurant! My wife and I love the Point Diner! Every time we visit, the service is friendly, the atmosphere is comfortable and the food is delicious! This evening our server was Emily and she was great. Took the time to talk with us and was very efficient and attentive. I had the Navy Bean soup and french dip sandwich and it was great! Also the pies make for a great dessert! Clean looking, good food. Great view of the bay. The management makes the servers take unused napkins off the table and give them to other patrons. That can spread infectious diseases such as flues, colds, germs from the servers handling money which is filthy. I saw a roach near the kitchen. The waitress killed it. When she tried telling the manager, Maria, she barked and was told to go back and do her job. One of the patrons said the meatloaf taste like dogfood. He asked the server if could have take-home box so he could give it to his dog. The server did apologize and or offer to substitute or refund his money. Overall my chicken parmigiana was hot and delicious. The French Onion soup was way to salty for my taste. If I had witnessed the condiditions as descibed above, I would not have aten there. Also, although the servers work very hard and are very friendly. They are not treated with appreciation by the shift mgr. That makes me wonder how much they value their patrons. Especially if saving a few more dollars on napkins is more important than the well being of their patrons! Also, there is too much yelling in the kitchen by the cooks or management which I found disturbing. For those who don't mind or notice the unsanitary conditions, it's open 24 hours a day. I went there on a Friday night with my friend and his brother for dinner. My friend got a short stack of hot cakes and his brother got a bacon cheeseburger. I also got a cheeseburger which was quite delicious. The food was pretty good and the serving size was fair but the waitress is why this is getting a 2 star. We were sat right when we got there and we got our food fast, but it took 10 minutes to get the check after she took our plates. oh the point diner. now, i think i've been here one time when i wasn't either buzzed or drunk and it also wasn't like 3-4am, that being said, here's what i think. pretty much the place we always end up after drinking in somers point in the summer (and winter for that matter). it's always open, and the waitresses do a hell of a job dealing with the drunk idiots (like us), coming in this late. food.....meh. its pretty overpriced and not really that great to be honest. if you stick with something standard like bacon and eggs, you'll get a decent meal, but as you climb the ladder you get less and less quality, but steeper prices. it really is only good for it's breakfast food. last time i went i had the nachos which reminded me of like manwich laid on top of tostitos with cheese whiz, STRUGGLIN. its really average here, and pretty hit or miss with the food. if you go, get something standard that looks like classic diner fare, and you'll at least be satisfied, but it won't be the greatest thing in the world. but hey, at least its open all the time, and it's so conveniently placed to all the bars :) read more

We were very disappointed with our meals and experience. Now we have eaten here many times in the past 35 plus years. First they were short handed. It was only 1 server and a hostess/cashier. Now the hostess helped out all she could. They did the best they could. It took us over 30 minutes for us to get our check. Now the food was nothing to write home about. I had the cheese omelette. It was over cooked and the home fries were burnt. My wife and father had the New York strip topped with shrimp special. They said it was very bland. The steak had no seasonings along with the shrimp and mash potatoes. They waitress didn't bring cocktail sauce. My wife said the carrots were the best part of her meal. My father loves beets and he didn't like them. My mom had a grilled cheese sandwich. She said the cheese was gummy. For dessert I had the rice pudding. It was some of the worst rice pudding I ever had. It was under cooked and not creamy. Now the food did come out quick and hot. Overall it was not a good dining experience. The reason I'm giving this place a negative review is because the man at the register is a crook. My wife and I stopped here for breakfast on Saturday August 30th, 2014. Our bill came to $16.69. I paid with a $20. First, the man at the register didn't say a word to me. He didn't say hi, good morning, how was your meal.... He simply took my bill, took my money, and blatantly handed back three dollars and a quarter. I realized he shorted me six cents, but I just walked out. Once I got outside, it started to set in that this guy deliberately stole six cents from me. Now I don't care about the six cents... But the fact that this guy is probably ripping people off a little here and a little there makes me not only want to never come back to Point Diner, but also blow the whistle on this place and let others know how what my experience was. read more

Another one of my favorite joints in Sounth Jersey. I have been going here for years and love the place. Mike was our waiter for dinner and this guy is hilarious! always brings your mood up a couple points cause the guys energy is contagious. I usually eat breakfast here cause Im either drunk and its 2am, or I'm hungover, and its 11am. I highly recommend the Chicken Francais for dinner. ITS BANGING! This placed used to be great about 7-8 years ago. It slowly started to go down hill over the last couple of years, first the wait staff and finally the food quality... A few months ago I tried this place one last time. I ordered chicken parm and split and someone else had the cheese burger. We also had soup and split some mozerella sticks. First, this place is dirty! The windows are streaked and never cleaned, booth and table weren't wiped down. Soup was horrible, it was watery and flavorless. Mozerella sticks were just mozerella sticks, can't really complain about those. Next the chicken parm, again inedible. They somehow managed to over cooked a chicken breast to the point my steak knife couldn't even cut it! Pasta was over cooked and sauce was god awful. The burger sealed the deal, who puts kraft cheese whiz on a cheeseburger when the customer asks for American cheese? That was the nastiest burger I've ever seen! You couldn't bite into it (over cooked) and the cheese sauce they soaked it in was gross. Over $40.00 plus tip for a horrible meal. Would have been better off staying home and cooking dinner. On the flip side of you are ever arrested in Somers Point you'll get to enjoy a diner meal from this place (the "prisoner meal") and I'd venture to guess its on par with what I ate. read more

Absolutely horrible from start to finish. It takes a lot for me to leave a one star review but this place warrants it. The highlights of this experience are as follows: the hostess seats my party of seven in a room with no air conditioning. Keep in mind the rest of the restaurant is the temperature of the arctic circle (which I loved). The waitress whose name sounded like Tracey but I believe was Aracey needs to work on her table side manners. I won't get into details on her since I don't want her to get in trouble. Food... the food was terrible. Everyone in my party hated their food except my mother who loved her blueberry pancakes. My apple pancakes had RAW apples in them. They should have been cooked! My home fries were ice cold and flavorless. My aunts bagel was hard enough to kill someone should she decide to use it as a weapon. I won't continue... you get the picture. Was in the area the past weekend and ended up here 3 times. Why 2 stars and 3 visits, well we were large parties of 12+ and tried a couple of other restaurants in the area but the wait was over an hour or they didn't take reservations. If I could rate the waitress service by itself I would give this place a 4. The speed of the kitchen / lack there of and the food are what bring the rating down, especially for dinner. Just stick with a sandwich. Overall consensus was that the food was not worth the price or wait. A little salt and pepper would go a long way here. The best was 2 dishes were served with rice but I guess no one in the kitchen knows how long to cook it. One person in our party almost broke a tooth. Lets just say the rice was a tad undercooked. One visit was at 2 am and in this area you are limited in choices. Someone said that Domino's may have been a better choice. Oh well, I think I'll hit up NYC/Northern Jersey diner for a cheeseburger fries and gravy. Of course gravy on the side. read more
