I have been coming here since I was a kid and it was always a favorite. dirty dishes on the table the whole time, the server was miserable and inpatient. They haggled with me about taking off a meal that was burnt when it came out. My husband left without eating. The toast to my Chipped Beef was hard and stale. Coffee took 20 minutes to refill. Waffles were damp. took is to 3 tables that were too small for out small. Never again. The absolute worst service I have had in a while. Disdain dropped from her the entire time. I have been coming to the Point Diner every summer for most of my life. It has always been a good experience. Unfortunately, this morning I had my first horrible experience there. The man in these pictures sat across from us and used racial slurs and loudly declared to the waitress that the staff are "too stupid" to get his order right because they are "not American" and that "they should all be sent back to Honduras." According to the staff he is a regular there and this is how he "always speaks to them." It is so disappointing to think that a business would continue to allow their staff and customers to be subject to this kind of harassment and bigotry. I spoke with the manager and she stated that it will be reported to the owner. I sincerely hope that they will take a good look at what they are allowing to occur in their establishment and stop it in the future. If I ever see him in there again I am walking out and I hope that any other decent patrons will do the same. That type of hatred should not be acceptable anywhere! read more

We've eaten here several times over the years without an issue. Sunday morning (7/26) we ordered breakfast and were waiting when a roach crawled right across the table. Disgusting. None of the staff even seemed surprised. The waitress was incredibly nice about it. We stayed because not everyone wanted to leave. I'll never go back. Roaches are filthy. Quick and attentive. I've never had to wait to be seated, but I've only ever gone here for dinner. Food is good and comes out fast. This restuarant is awful. The waitress was nasty and slow. The restaurant was empty and it took a half an hour to get our drink order. They came 45 mintues later. It took 45 mintues to order our food. It took an hour and a half to get our food. They forgot the sauces and our chili. They took back our used blue cheese. It took an hour to get refills in the small glasses. They wouldn't let us take our dessert from our specials to go. The special could only come with one soup. They forgot the pie. They overcharged. The bread of the tuna melt was soggy, the fries were stuck together and they charged me for a crab patty meal even though I just wanted a plain crab cake. DOWNHILL. DIRTY. DISAPPOINTMENT. We used to look forward to going here twice yearly for over ten consecutive years while vacationing in Ocean City, but today was our last visit. Tabletop was not clean, and under the salt and pepper area was gross. Our server was nice, but just not good at her job. Their Chicken croquettes used to be the best, but they are now 1/3 of their original size and mainly breading. Our server completely forgot our soup, salads, and bread. She also gave us the wrong drink refills. Our dinners arrived too quickly, and portions are less than half of what they used to be. We did have early bird specials ($10), but I wouldn't pay $5 for the tiny portion they served (two meatball-sized croquettes and a scoop of mashed potatoes). We did order early bird specials, but we did not expect children's portions. Also note, there are no free refills on the soft drink included with your early bird special. The free dessert is an extremely bland rice pudding or an even blander bread pudding. (We did not try the chocolate pudding or jello options.) The worst part was NOBODY CARED! Our server gave us our bread, soup, and salad to go, but was indifferent. No manager came over to speak with us. The cashier didn't even ask how our meals were, say thank you, or even make eye contact. We are very disappointed and will not return. read more

I had the most horrendous experience yesterday at this diner and was so disappointed in how the owners handled the situation. Please read in it's entirety if you frequent this place. My son along with friends were there for breakfast yesterday. My son took a bite of his Waffle and felt something hard on his teeth. He pulled a piece of plastic out of his mouth. He then started to cut the waffle further and there baked into the waffle was a piece of melted plastic about the size of his palm. I was horrified. We are not talking a piece of hair or some burnt pieces. It was a piece of plastic!!! The waitress was so dismissive but the manager was a bit more attentive and had told us she would comp us the bill. Then she came back having taken the piece of plastic to the owner and was told they would take off just the waffle and then proceeded to charge us for the replacement pancakes. We could not even eat those. I asked to speak to the owner and he would not come out. I then asked her to get the other owner on the phone who had "just left" and when I did finally get to talk with the owner she proceeded to yell at me, did not say sorry or asked me if my son was okay. All she cared was that I paid the bill for the food that was eaten and the replacement pancakes and was very verbally abusive. No apology and acted as though plastic in a waffle was not big deal. Again, as a customer to be yelled at and no apology AND we are not sure how much plastic my son ingested before he found the bigger piece embedded in his waffle, I asked for the police to be called so I could get a report written up. Oh by the way, she was going to call the police on me because I hadn't paid the bill at this point. She was more worried that I wasn't going to pay for the food that WAS eaten then the safety of my son or that they served a waffle with plastic melted into it!! On a side note, I was so impressed with the Somers Point police who arrived. They were wonderful and understanding. I did file a report which I feel better in doing as I DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANY OTHER FAMILY. I will also take that report to the Board of Health as that whole facility needs to be inspected especially the kitchen. After years of my husband going to Point Diner when we come to our vacation home in OC, the diner must either be under new management the past 2 years (we haven't gone in awhile) or they don't care about the cleanliness of the place, the safety of their customers and could care less about a customer raising an issue to them. Oh and several parties arrived and heard/saw how they were handling the situation and left immediately. I will NEVER eat here again and I hope others think twice as well. I feel it is important to share as plastic in your food IS a BIG DEAL despite the owners thinking it wasn't. read more

We stopped in on the way home. It was one of the coldest days of the year (it had snowed the night before) and the waitress attempted to sit us at the door. I asked for another table because of the draft. By the way, did I mention we waited about 3 minutes to be acknowledged or seated. And, the restaurant was not crowded at all. We paid about $30 for breakfast for 2 people which I thought was a bit much considering the breakfast potatoes were not seasoned at all. The pancakes were okay. You can order pancakes with eggs or pancakes with sausage, but not both. So, I wasn't impressed with the menu. My friend ordered french toast and enjoyed them. Our coffee wasn't refreshed often although that was the only thing we requested when we sat down "keep the coffee coming". I enjoy diners, but not this one. read more

I visit Ocean City, NJ every year for an event, and our group traditionally dines here the night before we get the show rolling. The staff is always kind, gives us the party room, and makes sure everyone gets their orders in a timely fashion. We've yet to have a member of our group complain, and I'm happy about that. I can't say the food is amazing, but it's reasonably priced and pretty good in my opinion. Far from disgusting. Decent breakfast food, good burgers, and it's open 24 hours a day, as a diner should be. If I lived in the area surely I'd come here more often. Kathi and I had breakfast there this morning and both of us were a little disappointed. I had the the hungry man meal which is two eggs, two pieces of bacon and two pancakes. I ordered the eggs over medium and I got them over easy. The pancakes however were light and tasty. Kathi ordered an omelet with feta cheese, bacon and tomatoes which was very good. Upon recommendation from the locals, we stopped in this evening after an evening on the boardwalk. We were greeted with warm enthusiasm, and seated immediately. The menu is vast, plus daily specials and desserts. We were told that portions were large so my daughter and Husband split the chicken parmesan. My son ordered the hot roast beef and I ordered the Mediterranean salad. Everything we selected was cooked to perfection, flavorful and lots of it!!!! We are so impressed that we decided to return again tomorrow evening! Everything was amazing, courteous servers, dedicated management patrolling to ensure every customer is happy!!! Terrible mismanaged business. Once order placed it took forever about 35 minutes to serve two omelets, a fruitcup, 3 coffees and a cup of milk. The omelets were good but the toast was so cold and hard it was like it was sitting for an entire day, I ordered bacon on the side and it was put in the omelet. I was there for one hour and 15 minutes and all they had to prepare were the omelets and toast. The coffee cups were extremely small and one hour 15 minutes and not offered a refill and I needed one. The waiter was pretty bad, the place was pretty empty and he was more interested iin filling the salt and pepper shakers than taking care of customers. When we did get our food I asked for ketchup, it never came so I gave up and just ate the mediocre home fries. To make maters worse, the bill had a math error of over 5 dollars. Honestly, one of the best dinner I ate in a long time. I had the chicken parm, parents had the turkey club and chicken with wine/lemon sauce. The chicken was amazingly cooked, and it melted in my mouth. I never had that tender of chicken for a long time. Used to come here all the time and the food and service were excellent. Came in after a long, busy day with the family. Food was just ok. Service was horrendous. We sat down at the way too small table for the 5 of us. (We had to ask the waitress to push another table over so we all had somewhere to eat). This Greek diner actually makes authentic Greek specialties. The spinach pie tasted like my boyfriend's (extremely greek) grandmother had just baked it. All of the portions were generous and delicious. The Greek specialties, although they appear pricey, comes with a salad, 2 sides AND dessert. Everyone was pleased with their order, from the burger to the toasted veggie wrap. The food tasted fresh which is saying something since we were dining at 9 PM. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and enthusiastic about the food. We had passed this place many times on our way to OC thinking it was just a greasy spoon.
