This is surpasses the Arrow wood location. How so? I ask for extra syrup but don't think I needed it based on how juicy the drink was....however I did it because I'm so used to the slushy being dry from Arrow wood. I went to the car hop area, and placed an app order, in hopes that it would be quicker and easier than using the screen. However, it was not. After placing my order, paying through the app, and checking in at the screen I was at, I waited for my food to come out. Ten minutes went by, then twenty, and eventually thirty minutes had passed-- still nobody had brought out my order. Eventually, I pressed the red button on the screen in hopes to get help, but I got no response. I finally went into the drive-thru line to tell them I had been waiting on my order, and they had my order. When I got my food it seemed as if it had been ready for a while, but it was just never brought out to me. I understand that they could be short staffed, but it would have been nice if it was posted that they were not doing the car hop service, which would have saved a lot of time and frustration. read more

My husband shake had been put together very poorly & the crevices of the lid looked dirty. When I took a napkin to clean the ice cream there was a booger with a hair in it. I went this morning to Sonic to get some breakfast. Waited at the intercom for several minutes but no one got on to take my order. I saw a car before me waited also and left. The place looks deserted. I know restaurants are short staff but at least have signs at the intercom and door that you are closed for breakfast, or closed indefinitely. read more

I was just here despite the negative reviews. Only about 3 cars in the drive-thru, and one parked in the drive in. I pull up to the speaker, no one ever greets me. Keep in mind this is more than an hour before closing. I say, "hello?" A few times, no response. So I pull up next to the car in front of me and ask them if they got to place an order. They didn't either. So I just left. I did get a glance through the window and I only saw one employee. Seems like Saturday night you'd expect some customers. Yummy! Sonic is symbolic with warm weather and roller skates (If you're lucky :))...even though I've been known to crave a lemon slush in the middle of winter. Sonic has the best variety of drinks around (non-alchoholic). Happy hour is amazing because you can get any drink or slush half off. AND...dare I say it...they have the good ice!! Hot dayum! On this particular trip, I was on my way home and went off the interstate 5 miles because I knew there was a Sonic in Mt. Holly! There are not enough of them in Charlotte...they are doing some funky thing with their hotdogs that I need to try...guess I have to make another trip. I also appreciate that when you are in the drive thru and the car in front of you has different tickets, some with mayo, some without...light ice, no ice, no whip...yadda, yadda, yadda AND you only ordered an extra large Sprite...they'll bring your order out and you can pay and leave. Ok 1) almost half of the machines to pull up and order at are "out of order". 2) you can walk into the inside and see employees laying on benches and napping .3) it is EXTREMELY dirty inside (tables, floors chairs etc. 4) we waiting for 15 minutes for two burgers, fries and drinks. 5) Signs specifically say no loitering but there are definitely several kids doing nothing but that. 6) you can see employees in the back eating food then handing out orders to guests. Do not go here! You'll spend half your life waiting for them to take you order. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, they will take forever. I literally could have gone to the store bought a blended, strawberries and sugar, gone home and froze the strawberries and then blended everything together and made my own slushie before they even took my order. Sonic and whoever the owner/franchisee is should be embarrassed at how poorly run this place is. 45 mins to get 2 slushies. No one said sorry for the wait. No one said anything. Literally. I don't understand how you can go to a drive-through restaurant at peak time and the food is still cold. The line is always long no matter the time of day.
