I ordered two sodas. Two. Nothing fancy just large Coke Zeros. It took, and I'm not even joking, 30 minutes. 30+ minutes to get two large sodas. They managed to get everyone out of the drive thru line and yet our two sodas couldn't get walked out to our spot. They maybe had 4 cars in the line. Maybe. I love Sonic but I am just over it. No one acknowledged me in the stall, we then pulled around to the drive through and sat for ANOTHER 10 minutes with us being the only people here. I have no idea what they were doing in the back, but this is ridiculous. When we finally did get to talk to someone, she was so unbelievably rude and dismissive. I ordered pick up at 3:14pm ready at 3:20 got to the #5 stall at about 3:28pm I waited while 4 of them looked at me knowing i was waiting on my order didnt even come out or wave me to come to the drive up instead. When i saw another vehicle coming through drive up i decided to go to drive up my drink was watered down so i asked nicely to remake it. I know food gonna be cold already so didnt care about that. First timer and no. No. Nothing was great. Edible? Yes. Not disgusting but this show of food and service definitely did not impress. We chose a stall, and waitied longer than usual. Burger flavor was like eating air. Cheddar filled jalapeños were dry and not spicy. Fries were forgettable and so was the Cherry limeade. They didn't bring us even 1 ketchup packet or even a ranch although we'd ordered items that required both. Makes me wonder why Fairbanks is always forming such long lines for this restaurant? Wendy's is far and beyond better than this spot. Save yourself the time and money and grab a bite at Friar Tucks across the street if you want something good. read more

We arrived to a long line at about two pm on a Saturday, near the beginning of the month, but expected it to be busy. We waited on the road to get in past the line, to go to the stall line. We got into a stall and it was tight even for my small Toyota truck. I pressed the red button which said that they would be right with us. After about fifteen minutes, the button went back to original status, asking customer to press for service. I did, after all it was pretty busy. After about five minutes I called the number and left a message as no one answered, saying that I was at stall number 5 and the button reset without our order being taken, so I just wanted to be sure that we weren't just sitting out there for nothing. A young lady came on and apologized, then took our order. I tried to pay but she didn't ask and I didn't know if the order board card reader took it. I didn't want to be double charged so I decided to wait. After getting people their orders in the stalls next to us, that arrived after us, we finally had a young girl ask if this was our order and showed me the receipt, it was... we accepted the food. She'd been to other cars before ours, and I finally was able to wave her down. I asked about payment and like it was an afterthought she said oh. Okay I can take that in for you, and took my card. She did come right back out with the receipt, but I coulda left w/o paying if I were dishonest. The food was mediocre. Burger patties were dry like they'd sat under a light for a while. The cherry limeade was more non ripe lime juice than anything else. Bitter. Everything else was all right but not great. I understand busy. My husband and I have worked the service industry. The wait was crazy and then just forgetting customers are out there is not good business. If the stall is not functioning, put a sign up. Let me know, I would have went in to order something. I won't be back. This was a far cry from our first visit here when this place was brand new, cherry limeade is a signature drink, isn't it? It should have been better. The staff of young people were doing what they could, but there didn't seem to be organization. Management should review how they do things as most of these reviews for this place are awful & similar to this one. I'm glad we gave it a chance though. Now we know this is not the place to be treated as a valued customer, as they'll forget about you if you don't remind them that you're there. Go somewhere else, people. Money is hard earned. 1st time going to Fairbanks Sonic & I will be my last! Went on Friday around 130 pm walked inside as the drive thru line was 6 deep & not moving. Noticed 6 different tables with people waiting for their orders, I'm only ordering a drink & bag of ice so not expecting too long of a wait like in & out. 10 minutes into my wait I ask people at the next table how long they had been waiting 30+ minutes for 3 sandwiches. I get up to go cancel my order but no one is at the register, 5 minutes of standing at the counter finally the employee comes out with my order. 15+ minutes for a medium drink & ice no thanks. There were still 4 of the same cars in the drive thru when I left. Another reason I won't be back... the gross sticky & I mean sticky floor. You could hear the stickiness of the floor as myself & other customers walked around the restaurant. If you go expect a really long wait. read more

Went there for the first time to get breakfast at 9:30 am. No cars in the drive through, I pull up, wait a couple minutes, someone says to wait, I wait ten minutes...(I had some time on my hands and thought they were dealing with something) finally they ask what I wanted to order. Mid order, they say to hold on. Cool walks out the side door, makes an exchange with a dude in a black truck. Walks back in, continues to take my order. I wait fifteen more minutes to get my burrito. Lady comes and says that it'll be a few more minutes. Comes back 5 minutes later to say they messed up my burrito and will have to remake it. I say I'll just take it how it is. She gives it to me and says "I didn't make it so let's just keep that clear alright, have a good day." I tried sonic when it first opened in Fairbanks got chicken stripes that was not fully cooked. Today I have decided to try again while waiting in drive-thru line I watched a cook come outside with apron and gloves on go see someone in a dirty black truck open door to converse touching dirty truck door as well as whatever was inside all while wearing kitchen gloves and after 15 minutes returned to work never removed or changed gloves. I have been to Sonics all over the country, and I understand when a business first opens but it's been 6 months and they can't get it together. I have time every time I have been here and on average it's 15 sometimes 20 mins a car. I have waited almost two hours when it first open to an average now of about an hour and a half. Absolutely ridiculous I have never seen a business operate like this in my life. The other day 5 cars in drive through took 63 minutes. If McDonald's can average less than 3-5 mins per vehicle something is very wrong. I might as well just go inside and make my food myself. read more

I have ordered burgers with NO MAYO multiple times. More times than not, they have been slathered with mayo. Tonight was no exception. After waiting an hour for my food, I was disappointed to find my burger was slathered in mayo, the poppers were cold and the slush had no flavor. I've complained to the home office once and to the store multiple times. I'm tired of my complaints falling on deaf ears. I'm going to write a review on every site available. For the record, the one star is not deserved. I ordered a double cheeseburger combo. The fountain drink was 5 star. The fries had been sitting somewhere for a while and were soggy and stale. The burger would have been awesome if there'd been a little more on it. On mine I had them hold the mayo and add mustard, pickles, and onion. I looked at mine and handed it to my daughter who had ordered a double cheeseburger with no toppings. I thought it was hers... Later, when we learned that that one was mine I took a closer look. I think I found one little shred of lettuce and a few of onion. It was pretty pathetic. I looked at the picture of a double cheeseburger they had on the wall... what a difference. The bun was good and the quality and taste of the meat was excellent but whoever put that burger together in the kitchen did a very poor job. read more

We have been to Sonic Drive ins all over the west coast. Last weekend tried this mess. Good Lord, 20 min waiting in line for COLD BURGERS limp fries and tots what the hell! They have the car stall runner area right thru the drive thru (trying to kill them or what?) just complete DISORGANIZATION. Half the stalls are blocked off... Not sure why. No signs telling you anything. Unless you want crap food and a long wait that is NOTHING like real Sonics down south then by all means blow your money. I will not darken these doors again. Not only did we wait almost 2 hours to order in a shorter line than the first time we went to Sonic, but they forgot a burger and added tater tots to our order. The food wasn't even warm by the time we got it (30 minutes later) Also, if you're gonna close half the stalls at least make it evident to the people waiting in line for them. So my husband and I finally decided to wait in the line at Sonic in Fairbanks. Our mutual decision was that we'd not be returning to this establishment. He had a burger, and I had a chicken sandwich. They are other places in Fairbanks that have a better tasting sandwich. The sides that we order tasted like the oil was really old with no favor. The poppers were not tasteful at all. So you'd think that we'd enjoy the shakes. No way, they tasted really watery. Thank goodness we learned a lesson the first time. read more
