While flying down Jefferson yesterday we did a double take when we saw Sonic. Apparently, I've been gone so long that I didn't realize that there was a Sonic in Henrietta. Funny how businesses pop up when you're not paying attention. We decided to give the new location a try. This was especially risky considering that we just came from Down South where Sonic is fast food king. Surprisingly Sonic did it right. Their drive thru line moved very quickly (there wasn't a long line at dinner time on a Saturday). The food order all came out delicious and correct. Best of all, the young man at the drive thru was pleasant and attentive. I'm not sure what the difference between this Sonic and E. Ridge, which generally seems to have some inconsistencies. The usual specials, such as happy hour specials drinks and half price shakes can be found at this location. So far it is very good, will update review after several next visits. read more

This may be the slowest fast food restaurant I have ever been to. Every time I have ever come here you're waiting a minimum of 30 minutes in the drive-through to get anything. Wish I could give this dump a zero. Zero for the food and zero for the service. Sonic should be the speed at witch you drive away. I got a fish sandwich that tasted like something caught out of the Erie Canal. The cheese sticks were cold. The only thing of decent taste was the soda which they don't make. On top of the crappy food the service was as bad as can be. It's like I was bothering them when I told the the order they read back to me was for the car that drive off because they obviously were smarter than me. My advice to those looking for a snack. Waited 15-20 minutes for an answer at the drive through which should have been my first clue... DUH! Ordered and waited another 15-20 minutes only to get food that was NOT FIT TO EAT! Sonic in Rochester used to be a favorite but lately the rude staff and drive through wait times make this place a stay away on our radar. Gave them one last opportunity today for a work lunch - steamer has been broken for over a month, foot long cony dog is now 2 small hot dogs and the staff is still rude. He told her the total she'd just quoted and she was belligerent and made up a different one. She then closed the door. This was around noon, Friday, October 27th. We enjoy Sonic. This is my first time at this location. I figured I'd grab a breakfast sandwich. It wasnt crowded at all so maybe they don't get a big morning crowd. Food took a long time to prepare which normally means it's fresh. There was a distinct taste of hand soap on the biscuit sandwich. I didn't know this until I had already left. Literally the worst fast food experience I've ever had. Waited 50 minutes for my mobile order, 20 in carhop watched 5 people leave, 30 in drive through. People who ordered at the speaker got their food before I did, and I had 2 employees ask me to pay because they can't keep track of their cars. When we got to the window after watching an ass out fingers in mouth woman hand out food and take/return payment, we had a wonderful show of blaring music, screaming, singing, and dancing by all 4 employees for 5 minutes before we were once again asked what our order was and if we had paid. 3 more minutes and we have our now cold food, but not the milkshakes that sat in my view at the window with napkins and straws! The woman who gave us our food went back to dance for another 3 minutes for the song she liked, and we finally got our now melting shakes. Went to the henrietta sonic. Went through the drive thru. The building itself is dirty. Parking lot had garbage all over the ground. Decals on the windows were peeling off. Looked terrible. I ordered a simple chicken sandwich with no pickles. Mentioned 2 times and even was on the receipt. Guess what was on the chicken sandwich. Yup. Pickles. It sou ds little but this is the second time trying sonic. First one was in Irondequoit in which gave me a completely wrong order. Figure I'd try again. I'm done with sonic all together. Whoa! Adjust the attitudes! I know it's a pandemic and you're working...however I am not forcing you to work. You have choices...be employed or not. Does the owner of this establishment not want to make money? Worst experience and most infuriating in my life. I went at 340 pm on a Saturday. I waited in the drive-thru lane for 25 minutes just to put in an order. When I drove up, there were six cars ahead of me. 4 left before they even ordered. Their is nothing fast about this fast food. When I did order. The employee kept saying we were out. If you're out, put up a sign. So after my order was placed, I waited behind 4 cars before the window. I waited another 30 minutes, and the car at the window never moved. 2 cars in front of me just left because of the wait. I waited another 5 minutes and then left. That is 7 cars of customers who left because of a poor work ethic by its employees. No sense of efficiency and professionalism in their job. I wonder if this place has an actual manager. The owner has to lose a ton of money in this place, and it's all on the incompetence of the staff. You can't even walk into the building anymore because the doors are locked. They don't want you to come in and see what they are doing and not doing. What makes this worse is that this isn't the only time, and I'm not the only customer it happened to. Being from Upstate NY until the E Ridge Rd location opened we had to be out of state to enjoy a Sonic Drive-In. This location just opened on Jefferson Rd right across from Genesee Valley Regional Market (Palmer's). There have been minimal lines since opening, so no worries there. I have found this location to on par with others that we have been to and do feel it's a nice addition to the area and will save me some gas when I'm craving a limeade. The location also notes that they will be open 24 hrs with full menu and this is exciting as there aren't many such options in the area (per sign on window on drive thru). Although already concerning at this location is that the staff doesn't know the details of the promotions that they have ongoing - We have seen this with other locations. Foods - *Breakfast options include burritos and sandwiches. I have tried the breakfast toaster which is average - often the "texas toast" is soft, barely toasted with an often overcooked scrambled egg and minimal bacon (I haven't tried any other meat options). You can add Jalapenos to everything for 50 cents which is a big plus. *Lunch/Dinner options are burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, grilled cheese, chicken fingers, boneless wings, tator tots, onion rings. I personally am not a fan of their burgers have always found them average but their Chicago dogs are great and worth a try. Onion rings are hit and miss, often being overcooked but taste fresh. Onion rings are usually small portions for the price - sometimes 3 onion rings for over $2. The have boneless wings which have always been well sauced and good - BBQ, Buffalo and Asian sweet Chili sauces. *Desserts - They have vanilla ice cream only. Tons of of milkshakes options, Blasts where they mix ice cream and candy, floats, Sundaes and waffle cones. They have my husbands favorite Chocolate malt and I love the Hot Fudge malt. Drinks - This is where Sonic shines. They have numerous soda options and syrups that can be added to customize. They are offering Ice Teas, Lemonades which the syrups can be added to. If you don't mind the sugar they have slushes that are also customizable with candies like Nerds and flavored syrups. My favorite options are the Limeades that they make with fresh limes. LOVE the diet cherry limeade. I could drink one daily and still crave them - Sprite Zero with low calorie cherry syrup, fresh limes and occasionally a floating cherry. Also have strawberry limeades which are great. They have a great deal in the Morning until 10a (Unknown when it starts) 99 Cent Large drinks which includes Limeades. Between 2p - 4p Drinks are 1/2 off. Join their email and they have several deals during the month for half off items. Currently 1/2 off Milkshakes after 8pm. read more

I was thrilled to see that the new Sonic on Jefferson Road is finally here! We discovered it on a warm evening in early May. It was the perfect night to pull into the drive up service bay and place our order. The establishment was bustling with happy customers and the staff seemed to be having a great time running orders out to the cars. I've always enjoyed their hot dogs and went with the Chicago Dog Combo with onion rings. The poppy seed roll was soft and delicious. The toppings were fresh and delectable too! My daughter had the New York Dog, which came with sauerkraut, onion and spicy brown mustard. Yum! It was spectacular. She also had the chili cheese tater tots, which were so good! It was a great experience and well worth the anticipation! There was no place that I would have rather been on a pleasant May evening in Rochester. Hope you enjoy it too. read more

The employee that FINALLY brought us our order out was on the phone yelling with a partner and practically threw the bag into the car. 4/17 spent over $20 to get served nasty food. Ate inside to begin with. First time at this Sonic. Ordered iced coffee instead of soda in a combo and paid 50 cents more for literally ice and coffee. We special requested it as their iced coffee is made with a milkshake mix?! Ordered Crispy chicken sand combo large with tots and soda, double bacon cheeseburger with tots and iced coffee med. Mini order of onion rings equals $21 dollars. Order arrived with everything shoved into a bag. Chicken sandwich was literally oozing with mayo. It was everywhere. Had them remake with no mayo. Iced coffee arrived not to order, had them remake that. Double cheeseburger was gross as an understatement. First it was slathered in mayo and instead of cheese slices had cheese sauce. Then it was smashed down to less than 2 inches tall, which made all liquids ooze everywhere. Received 3 cold chewy onion rings in the mini order. Asked for a manager and waited over 15 min for a scared 19 yr old shift manager to come out. In the end we ended up with a $20 coupon but we have ZERO desire to every try it again. Well we came here on a 1/2 price shake night that I received an email AND an app alert for. It said, please mention "SHAKE" when ordering. So we pulled up to order and said, 'hey we're here for the 1/2 price shake special'. The girl said - that's only for our EXPRESSO (yes, that's what she said) shakes - the 2 EXPRESSO ones. I asked her - so you can't use them for classic or master shakes? She said, NO Knowing there's more than 1 way to skin a cat, I pulled off to the parking lot next door and got on my SONIC app (which I shoulda done in the 1st place) and ordered my 5 shakes at 1/2 price. We drove into a stall and shortly an employee came out and told us they ran out of peanut butter. [HOW DO YOU RUN OUT OF PEANUT BUTTER??] Like, FOR REAL? And how she said it - total lack of concern or empathy - like 'whatever'. So we gave them the alternates and then she came back out with our shakes. As she handed them into the car, one of the tops came off, and some of the shake started spilling out. That should have been my first clue to double check them. I was able to get the cup lid back on. The next shake was ok as we got it, then the 2nd to last shake, the top totally came off and we spilled a quarter of it into the car. Freakin ridiculous. I asked her for some napkins - she was like, 'lemme go get you some', and I asked her to remake our shake, which she did with no issues. It was a total hot mess. No apology, nothing. The customer service at this SONIC was atrocious, coupled with running out of peanut butter, and not honoring the 1/2 price at the drive thru - if your staff doesn't know, that's on you - the management. I love Sonic. I grew up with a Sonic (in another state). We would go at least once a week. I would drink the Cherry limeades all the time if I could. For some reason, this particular Sonic is the WORST Sonic EVER! Even when they're dining room and drive up stalls were open they had the worst service I've ever experienced. Now that they've closed the dining room and the drive-up stalls and made it drive-thru only, it's even worse. And tonight I've discovered they've turned off app ordering.
