I went for the first time today since I've driven by the place for the last several years. First off, let me say that the people there were very nice, polite, and helpful. Absolutely NO complaints there about the people. BUT... I had the double bacon cheeseburger, and to be honest, it wasn't awful by any means, but truthfully it was very, VERY average. And, especially for the medium combo coming out to over $10. I'm not a wild connoisseur of hamburgers or anything, but I've been places where they have been quite good (5 guys) and I've been to everywhere else just like everyone else. For my taste AND the price, honestly, I very much prefer the taste of Burger King or even McDonalds inexpensive double cheeseburger. Much, much tastier than the over $10 combo here. Sonic is probably one of the few eateries that is not affected so much: no dining room, all aspects of the business model unaffected, they might even had gained a little business from newcomers, dine in the car, 1950s style. Boyfriend and I just drank almost an entire ocean water and opened it to the eat the ice... to find 2 dead bugs inside of it. I can't really speak for the food, but their icee drinks are really delicious! I love that they are cheap and convenient to order. I remember I got sick and had a sore throat and ordered one of their drinks and it felt so good on my throat. My one complaint is that they got rid of the green apple flavor! That flavor was my favorite, and even though the other flavors are still awesome I have yet to find a flavor that matched that one. Also I get so nervous for the kids on the roller skates. I know that that is a gimmick from all of their restaurant chains but I just get so nervous for them with all the crazy drivers that come around day and night. I've only been to a sonic once. The novelty of receiving your via rollerblades is fun. The menu is a bit overwhelming though. Didn't realize there can be so many drink options, flavors, add-ins, etc. Came here with one mission in mind - try the pickle slushie. I ended up ordering a corn dog, tots, and real fruit drink (slushie with strawberries in it). The corn dog was $1 and all the drinks were half off with exception of the milkshakes. Wassup 2-4pm happy hour. The pickle slushie had an interesting flavor and was more sweet then I expected. Tip: Opt for the small, even if the other sizes are more of a bargain. We went in at noon on Tuesday and waited about 10 minutes after pushing red bottom and after few minutes we were told to wait! we waited another 10 minutes and no one came back or answered again . There was another car before us and as he was leaving we asked him if he was helped and he said no one had said anything to him either. We went to the drive through and no one answered there either. Every time we come out order is always messed up to the point my boyfriend refuses to stop when it use to be his go to place for shakes and drinks. I went today to go try their new banana pudding shake but was told they were out...okay understandable it happens, so i ordered a strawberry banana instead. The man in all black with a black eye came out with my order and I gave him my gift card with debit card to pay whatever was left after the gift card, he comes out 3 minutes saying that he charged my debit card because the system was down and couldn't use my gift card?? I've been in customer service for 7 years and I have never seen someone do that before. He was struggling for 10 minutes to refund my money back onto my card and he made us give our milkshakes back!? Maybe I'm insane, but I ordered a number 2 (super sonic cheese burger) it comes with onions, pickles, tomato, lettuce, cheese obviously, and then you choose your sauce.. I said ketchup and mayo.. for the sauce. No pickles or onions. Right I confirm with the screen and when I say the screen doesn't have everything I mentioned the gentlemen says the order back to make sure. So it should be a double cheese with mayo, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, and let's not forget the cheese. Tell me why... when I get it home and the person I ordered it for gets ready to eat. My husband and I have been to this location multiple times- food is good, service is always somewhat slow but employees have been generally nice. Unfortunately today when trying to make our order at a stall, the guy was incredibly uncalled for rude to my husband. With no one else at the stalls, we still had to wait a more than normal long time for our food- the order was messed up I got a gigantic shake instead of a small. We were about to leave when our carhop James saved the day and was very kind and accommodating to us. Don't think we'll be back though. read more
