I had no idea this place was here but we stopped in so he could get a burger bc he never eats breakfast and is always starving when we go out to run errands. They have a new smash burger on their menu and he got that with fries and I have to admit, the burger was pretty good when he offered a bite. After a 13 hour day I was so hungry I decided to go to Sonic (off Laskin) around 9pm. The cost was $12 and my burger was absolutely disgusting. Easy to order in app. Got the 44oz for the first time. Also a free soda from a promotion. More ocean water in my cup than the ocean itself! Chili cheese coney with onions. Created a yelp account just to leave a review for this place. It is comically slow and you can guarantee your order won't be right. Was the only car in line and I waited 25 mins for two Oreo blasts while the 5 high-school aged employees were laughing it up playing around in the kitchen. This place could not get any worse. Went through the drive thru around 7:56pm and the carhop Ahriona was rude from start to finish. She rushed our order and I still said "thank you", when I got to the window and she told me our total, as I was taking my card out to pay, she closed the window in my face and walked away. When she came back I gave her my card to pay and when she returned it, again I said "thank you and she said nothing. I asked her if her name would be on the receipt and she said yes and never handed me the receipt, instead she went to speak to the other young manager on duty and began to belittle me. (yes, I heard everything through the window. The manager came to the window, and I told her that Ahriona was very unprofessional and I will be addressing with the Manager. Then Manager on duty went back to Ahriona and that is when I heard Ahriona call me a "B**tch" amongst other things. I would like to note that my 13-year-old son was in the car and he was astounded by the way Ahriona was acting. He said she is tired or something because we didn't do anything and she is just being rude. I will never in my life go to this Sonic again and will be addressing with the Franchise owner. This is the WORST. Sonic ever. We have gotten food from here lots. We have posted complaints to them on instagram and Twitter in the great hope that they would improve. I don't think they care . For about a year we have tried to give constructive criticism. So I have decided to post my yelp review. I hate writing bad reviews but this place is terrible. And this is why. The food is good MOST of the time. That is why they are even getting a star. They never get an order right!! I always ask for tater tots. They give crappy fries. And they are half cold and limp fries. They are at hilltop and the chick-fil-a is 10 times busy and they seem to manage amazingly well. At lunch you wait to place your order then you wait another 20 minutes to get your order and this is the drive through . If you are on your 30 minute lunch break DONT GO TO THIS SONIC!!! When they come out to FINALLY give you your food. They toss it and run. You are left trying to make sure you got everything. THEY JUST DONT CARE!! We order a lot of kids meals. Supposed to get a toy of some kind. There has been 4 different times they just did not put them in there. It seems like THEY JUST DONT CARE. After it was corrected it was still 20.00 which is mind boggling to me for fast food. We were asked to pull up and wait and even with it being a drive thru we waited for about 5 min. They brought our food out to us but forgot the drink. After pulling away my wife began to eat and noticed there was no sauce for her chicken. After getting home I opened my burger to find the tomato's that I requested to not be on my burger. As a result we hit this place many times during our two week stay in the Chesapeake VA/Virginia Beach area. All tasted great. You ask for extra ketchup and the like but somehow it never makes it to the waiting staff.. (all are like this we find). Here at least, the guy came with our food and returned with the extras we needed. No complaints. * Shakes / Desserts On each visit the kids got shakes -- when they got home one of them didn't finish all of it - and I tasted the peanut butter - REAL! I half expected some flavoring. Not here. We had a really nice banana split and my wife LOVED their sundaes. I tried the hot fudge cake with ice cream - cake was fine but it definitely could have used more ice cream. (cake sucks up the ice cream .. so you need more ice cream). Other than that, a pretty consistent location. There was a girl - I wanted to make note of her name better - it was close to Tequila but more like Taquita. She was nice and on two different nights when she brought us our shakes - she also gave us mints - sometimes they do that but not always - but that was her thing. Very friendly. This location is also rather large - with at least one more row for cars than most. The first time this occurred, sizes were wrong (given small when paid for large) and ingredients asked to be taken off such as onions on a hot dog were left on. Terrible customer service. If you mention you have been waiting they will say they are working on it and you will wait another twenty minutes. When receiving my food there was no apology or anything just silently shoving food into my hands. I am rethinking what I would consider comfort food. I was a little hungry tonight but not very since I picked up a hotdog from Sonic on Laskin and I ask you this. How hard is it to screw up a hotdog? This Sonic wins the award and this place posted some good commercials on this and other foods so I decided to try it. I'm certain I'll never order this one again but maybe it's not the restaurants problem but the employees who seem reluctant to go the extra mile. First off, the Chili should only be left in warmer for probably no more than a couple hours before it burns and should be tossed out. There are probably others but this seemed very relevant. Maybe this Franchisee should look at there operational structure before they are the next Covid-19 related closure. This is a problem that could be resolved quickly if all Sonic employees (Franchisor and franchisee) were required to order there food anonymously from random locations always ordering different foods and then enter your results (place menu improvements and changes to things that the customer enjoys on a convenient location like an app.).
