We decided to give Sonny's a try after church one Sunday afternoon. We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. The host was quite cordial and friendly. We did have to wait a few minutes for our table to be cleaned and set, but once that was done we were taken back and seated. The dining room is neat and clean and kinda rocks that traditional barbecue spot vibe. Our server took good care of us. The food was good. We arrived here today around 3:30 pm and which was a good time as they kinda slow this time of the day. We were greeted immediately and sat a booth and our server was very friendly and helpful with redeeming our points for a free appetizer. I love their BBQ. I tried one of their bowls today and it did not disappoint, it had their homemade Mac and cheese, baked beans, bbq and onion strips on top. I will have it again! The egg rolls are amazing. It's been a while since I've visited Sonny's. I'm not sure why I haven't been back, the service and food are really good. The place has that Texas BBQ vibe that is pretty common in these types of restaurants. Booths and tables are both available. Everyone really liked their food options. I had smoked wings and salad. Both were very good. Others had pulled pork, ribs, mac n cheese and sides like coleslaw and baked sweet potatoes. Again, everything was reported to be very good. Luckily we found a location right in our neighborhood. We were there for lunch and it got crowded real fast. The atmosphere was airy and bright. Western look all around was excellent. We went down to do some work and found this place at lunchtime. Had ok reviews and wanted to try it out. The place looks great. Very clean and an overall good looking restaurant. Very inviting. I have been an avid BBQ guy for a long time so I had to try the Ribs and Brisket. Two things that will make ok break a restaurant in the BBQ world. The ribs were small but good. The brisket was cold and tough unfortunately. Really good sweet tea though. Mac and cheese seamed very store bought. The baked beans were so so. Overall service was very fast. Spent the afternoon volunteering at the naval museum. A must see. Got a lil hungry for barbecue. Headed to Sonny's barbecue on pine forest road . Waitress super friendly and helpful. Food was exceptional as usual. We had the candied bacon chicken sandwich with crispy onions. No sauce needed, but tried peach bbq sauce and it was delicious. We were visiting from Texas and this is the best BBQ we have ever had. We wished we could have one of everything. 'Nuff said.

I wasn't a fan, honestly.. service was very rushed. My waitress was friendly, you could just tell she was overworked. Food was okay. It all tasted the same to me. Not best chopped brisket I've had at Sonny's. Not flavorful. Not enough burn for me. I've had way better by Orlando. It should be consistent at every location. The salad was a soup, it was swimming in dressing but it was kind of fun to eat. Good dressings. Beans always hit. Surprised not see powdered sugar on the corn nuggets. I'm starting to think it's personal. Every time I order pickup there's food missing and I have to wait a long time for the food to be brought out. Tonight was 30 minutes but I've been left waiting over an hour before. People were arriving after me but getting their food before me. Tonight's missing food was a side of mac & cheese. All this was bad enough but the real insult was the person who brought out the food seemed to think it would be fun to hold the bag just out of my reach. We asked to sit at the next table where there was no fan and her reply was "they're all pretty much the same" and did not allow us to move. We tested the seat while she was gone. It was not the same. No cold air was blowing down. She came back and took our order but was not very helpful to customers who have never been to Sonny's BBQ. After a fair wait, the food arrived and was quite good. The ribs were hot, well prepared, and tasty. The salad was fresh and the chicken cooked well. The burger was cooked just right with a generous patty and delicious candied bacon. However, we didn't enjoy the food as much as we would have liked as the air was blowing down and we were cold even with a sweater on. We weren't the only ones. The group that sat down after us had a gentleman who entered with a t-shirt and promptly put on a fleece vest. He was still cold and asked the waitress to turn off the fan. Her response was, "you want me to sweat!" Maybe she was joking because as we ended our meal and paid our tab, the fans were turned off. I requested a receipt that never came so I left without one after checking my credit card was charged correctly online. I walked in and sat at the bar on a slow Monday night. There was already another gentleman there being served so I didn't think it would be an issue. The bartender saw me seated while serving the other customer but ignored me completely. After asking another employee for help, I was given a menu and my drink. After waiting again for some time, the bartender took my order with an attitude. I paid for the drink and left. Poor service. Poor attention and overall just not a place I'd recommend to anyone. Some days on my way home from work or Sunday after church, I find myself in the Sonny's drive thru. I've noticed a young lady named Princess who usually takes my order. It's refreshing to deal with someone who speaks clearly, has knowledge of the menu and is always friendly. Princess is always pleasant and I look forward to hearing her greet me. Okay here's the deal, we all know Sonny's has good food. But, let's talk about the service. My server, Madison, was very friendly and even gave me recommendations on what food would come out quicker because she could tell I was in a rush. She was going back and forth, with 4 tables at the same time but maintained herself and was able to take care of all of us equally. I got the Ceasar salad, and a loaded baked potato. Both were out within 4 minutes of me sitting down. Usually at Sonny's since the floor plan is very open you can hear everyone's conversations in the kitchen as well but no one was screaming or being obnoxious like at the other locations and i was able to eat my food in peace and quiet. Sonny's is one of those places that is pretty much a guaranteed thing. It's so rare to get bad food here, in fact they are just more likely to get it wrong than bad. Having said that these ladies do a great job, and definitely make it worthwhile coming back time and time again read more

My boyfriend and I order take out from this location quite frequently. The curbside pick up is super convenient. We usually order their smoked dry rubbed wings in addition to our meals, these are delicious and packed with flavor! My boyfriend loves their dry rubbed wings, he usually opts for the corn nuggets as one of his sides. I always steal a few on the car ride home, they are so yummy. I get the brisket, i switch between chopped and sliced, I cant decide which i like better. If I am having barbecue, I have to have cold sides. I love their coleslaw and potato salad! My favorite part of the meal.....drum roll.....the cornbread! It is like a dessert, sweet and fluffy, I could eat six of them. read more
