a taco truck parked in a parking lot
Scott H.

So... you want authentic street tacos? In the Chula Vista area? Look no further than Telegraph Canyon and The 805. Literally you can see the truck from the freeway. Super visible. It's been here awhile and heard from friends and colleagues that it's legit. So finally I tried and it delivered. Ok so, what is authentic street tacos? Heck if I know! What ever this truck was selling, I was buying. It was delicious! The best tacos to me are from King Taco in LA so this is a solid second in my book!! Not sure of the low previous scores but perhaps not too many Yelper reviewers? Who knows Lol. I certainly loved them and will return! Check. Them. Out.

Stopped because it was right off the freeway in a parking lot. They were out of beans and had so many items covered up. The birria was ok. I ordered birria quesatacos and the cheese wasn't even melted.

Taco truck parked off Telegraph Canyon and 805. I come here only for the Vapor tacos ..as cannot find those anywhere easily. Good prices and also great selection of other tacos ...recommend

i think they have a new owner because the latest reviews are wrong!!! this place is bomb and very similar to tj tacos!! tacos cost $3 something which is a nice deal, come & give them a try, carne asada smells and taste amazing!

Their adobada tacos are to die for ! So is their asada Their tripa was descent Love their vampiros - quesadilla tostada And their mulas. Quick and friendly service ! I've came twice and have loved all their tacos so far .. And I get my food quickly and very warm wether to eat there or to go ! I'mma plan on coming here wether I'm on a summer cut or not lol

The asada taco was a let down. The meat was tender but not much flavor and the Guacamole on top had no flavor either not even salt. I also ordered the adobada taco and it was very flavorful. I didn't need the sauce they put on top though. Since I've been in San Diego it seems like all the tacos have extras on them. The best tacos I've ever had are good with just some cilantro, onion, and lime. All the extras are unnecessary. I wanted to try this food truck but won't be returning.

All the employees were drinking pacifico @ 2pm like common super unprofessional. 12 dollar carne asada fries that were dry and the meat was burn , First and last time coming here. I'd say go waste your money somewhere else, lolitas is just across from here too .

The tacos dorados de papa y carne always hit. Underrated taco spot! Maybe a little on the pricey side but totally worth it.

Girl who takes order not courteous at all. Carne asada tacos are dry and so not worth the money. Only ate one of two ordered.

Really amazing tacos and at a decent price. The birria tacos come with a lot of flavor as does their asada! I'd really recommend this place!

You have to try this place!…read more It's one of my family's favorite seafood spots. I've had the pulpo tostada and taco multiple times and they're always amazing, super fresh and never overcooked. I usually get the macho sauce on the side so I can spice it up to my level lol. My family has also tried the tuna tostada, micheladas, chilaquiles, and even Dino nuggets for the kids, everything has been consistently great every time we go. The service is always on point, the ambiance is nice, and it's in a great central location. We usually stop by Wood Market afterward to grab a few things. Highly recommend! definitely a spot we'll keep coming back to. Also, shoutout to the Convoy location, it's just as good!

Even though we were a bit late for the breakfast menu, they still let us order the Smoked fish, Gobernador, and Pork Belly-quiles. I loved the flavors, and it had just the right amount of spice I prefer. I also had a Mango-rita that snuck up on me in a good way. We each tried all three plates, and all agreed they were sumptuous. Everyone running the restaurant was super friendly and accommodating to special diet needs as well. I'm glad we tried this establishment. It was quite busy that day, but there was still plenty of parking, and they had booths to sit and enjoy the experience. Portions were large - we all had leftovers to take home. I would love to come back and try more of the menu!

Sometimes, there are nights when only tacos can fix me. It's no secret that San Diego has tacos in…read morespades and being so close to the border, you'd think that a quest to find the perfect taco would be as simple as rolling down to the nearest taqueria. Except, it's not quite that simple. Many beloved staples have gone downhill, while some newer spots that might boast things like a Michelin mention or multiple locations ranging from TJ to Vegas contain more hype and gristle than tender meat and substance. Enter Chula Tacos. Chula is, and always was, the type of place that makes you forget that you're not actually in Tijuana. While part of me misses their OG Market Street location, seeing them with brick-and-mortars feels hard-earned and well-deserved. This location on Palm in IB is relatively easy to access from the freeway, but parking can be tricky. You can safely assume that it will be busy and you will either have to be very lucky or be willing to find a spot on the street. Out of all the times I've been here, it's always been crowded enough that I've never been able to find a table inside, but I enjoy sitting out on the patio next to the ahumederos. The first thing that hits you walking through the door is how amazing everything smells. The queue to the cashier takes you near a window showing the kitchen where you can see the Chula Tacos team making fresh tortillas, slicing meat from the trompos, grilling up jalapenos, nopales, onions, labio, and tripa. For me, it's not so much a challenge to decide what I want, it's more a challenge to keep myself from ordering everything. My usual is four tacos: two asada, two al pastor (but I've heard that I should also try their world famous keka). The tacos though? Perfection. Every time, the asada is the juiciest and most tender I've ever eaten, the al pastor is succulent and flavorful, and no taco in front of me is long for the world. At $3.50 each, every one of them is absolutely loaded. Three would honestly fill me up, but I always want four. After getting burned by spots that ask around 75% more and deliver anywhere between 25-50% less, Chula Tacos feels like an absolute godsend of a Tijuana-style taqueria and I can't see any other contenders being my go-to. So, when I say "Tacos will fix me," what I mean nowadays is "Chula Tacos will fix me."

Chula Tacos in Nestor is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for authentic, flavorful tacos…read morewith generous portions. Every item we ordered was packed with delicious flavors and made fresh. One thing that stood out was their attention to detail with to-go orders--they provided plenty of condiments, including a variety of salsas, cucumbers, radishes, and peppers, which really elevated the meal. The highlight of the menu is the Keka Taco. It is incredibly delicious, loaded with flavor, and so filling that it can easily satisfy even the biggest appetite. The only downside to this establishment is the limited parking, which can make picking up your order a bit challenging during busy times. However, the amazing food and generous portions more than make up for the parking inconvenience. If you're in the area, the Keka Taco is a must-try!

At first I gave them a great review & last time not so great due to prices & portions. Well now over the years their prices are better than other taco shops & portions have gotten bigger. Tho they only have 3 tacos on the menu, Carne Asada, Birria, Adobada, they are good & they have one of the better Birria soup/broth in SD. Their carne asada is one of the best in SD, so juicy & soft I love it, their Birria taco is good too but I prefer their order of Birria or broth & their Adobada is ok just a bit too marinated for me. They also have burritos, tortas & Mullitas & I recommend the Carne Asada form in those because I believe they have one of the best Carne Asada meats in SD. The customer service is really good, cooks are cool & fast & the girls on the register are really nice & the place is always clean. And you know the best part, they have a dispensary/weed store next door so you can buy a joint & go smoke a joint in your car & then walk here & get a few tacos & Birria broth, now that's a perfect breakfast or lunch, tacos & weed go hand & hand baby :) Overall a good little hole in the wall taco shop if you don't want crazy long lines & good service & good tacos & Birria meat or broth this is your place. I even met the Baseball player Adrain Gonzalez here (you can see in my pics) & had tacos on the table next to him & talked baseball a bit & no I was not high, at that moment. So keep up the good job Poblano's & staff & see you soon amigos :)
