Very authentic Mexican restaurant with many options for food and desserts I loved their tacos Service was good

I did a quick drive-by stop to pick up Mangoyada. It was my first time trying this. I wanted to compare it to our version in Texas called a Mangonada. If you have tasted a mangonada, then you would spot the difference. It is good in its own way. I describe it as a snow cone with fruit topping and pieces of Mexican candy. The Mexican candy is supposed to be soft, but it hardens with the ice. I would be careful because some are super hard. You will need a spoon and a straw to finish your cup. This place also sells other items, but I did not try them. They do have parking on site.

Great food, friendly service! This is a must stop kind of place. First time I have had raspados and now I have a new favorite thing, refreshing and delicious.

Chicharron, adobada, and cabeza tacos. The tacos are pretty tiny but they give lots of lime/cabbage/salsa.

Pretty good raspados. Good tacos. All very affordable. I got 3 tacos and one medium raspado with ice cream and lechera (add ons), and it was $11 for my meal. They have a wide variety of desserts, so you can pick and choose what you want and add your own favorites to anything. They also have a menu of food - tacos, quesadillas, Sonoran dogs, things like that. The tacos are good, you can pick corn or flour tortillas. I chose corn tortillas and they were pretty tiny. 2-3 bites per taco, and kinda greasy. I will say the quality of the desserts is hit or miss. One day there will be a giant scoop of ice cream, another day it'll be like half a scoop. But I'm not too picky, so I don't mind all that much. The fruits they use are in syrup, they don't taste fresh to me, but again, not a deal breaker for me.

Serving Up Jummy Sonoran Hot Dogs SMOTHERED IN Ketchup, Mustard & Mayo !!!! The ULTIMATE SONORAN Dog w/ A 4th OF JULY TWIST!!!! So Amazing!!!! The Fundraiser Style Nachos were so scrumptious and simple. I was pleasantly surprised, swept back to my snack bar days of baseball . Pure nostalgia. Chips, nachos cheese sauce, sliced jalapeños and carne asada. Nothing better!

If you haven't treated yourself to a raspado post hike at Tumamoc then you're doing it wrong. The mangoyada (vegan!) is super refreshing and thirst quenching. It's drenched with chamoy, a pungent pickled fruit sauce, and topped with a combination of mangos, tamarind, and peanuts. I've been many times, so I'll give them a pass this time, but they forgot peanuts during my last visit. Just a heads up and be sure to check for peanuts. I've found that the regular/medium size is the best in terms of the ratio of toppings.

Authentic Spanish food. I chose Tacos (2 chicken, 1steak). Flavorful and such high quality meat. Saw this on the food network and had to try. I tried the mango shaved ice which was great both spicy and sweet. Highly recommend checking this place out.

My hubs suggested that we go to The Frida and see if we could get in. We drive over and guess what, we go lucky, must have been that everyone had a 4th of July hangover. We sat at the bar and couldn't be happier. Our server/bartender took great care of us, he offered us drinks, took our food order and made my hubby a really good Margarita, The Frida Margarita, he said it was bomb! I ordered a beer and it came with a chilled glass and lime wedge. We decided on the flautas and the mole enchiladas. Both fantastic, tasty and hearty! I got full with two enchiladas so I donated the third to my hubby, which he was super happy to eat. I have to say, the mole sauce was decadent and full of flavors. It really reminded me of my grandmas mole. It also left a delicious numbing (very slight) on my lips. Perfect balance of nutty, spicy, almost semi sweet goodness. Gorgeously prepared and looked almost too good to eat. Almost..... The place was full, we were still able to have a conversation. It was amazing. Will definitely be back to continue to enjoy the carefully curated menu. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed! This screams a great place to work and obviously enjoy. Well done La Frida! Well done!

Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.

Located in downtown Tucson, this iconic restaurant is full of character and beautifully decorated. We visited on a Saturday around 1 PM without a reservation and were told there would be a wait since the place was packed. They only have air conditioning in the indoor dining areas and basement, not on the outdoor patio. Luckily, we were seated in the basement, which turned out to be perfect. The service was commendable truly some of the sweetest and most attentive service we've experienced in a long time. We started with freshly made chips and salsa, which were an instant hit. For drinks, we ordered the El Tamarindo, Mangopeno, and Monica's Cafetini. For food, we chose the Vegan Jackfruit Taquitos Trio and the Fresh Corn Tamale Platter, which came with a side of squash. The drinks were excellent, with the Mangopeno being my favorite. But the real star of the meal was the tamale platter. Oh my goodness it was absolutely delicious! Everyone at the table kept digging in and couldn't get enough. Even the squash side was so flavorful that we ordered an extra serving. The vegan jackfruit taquitos were a bit too deep-fried for our liking and didn't quite compare to the incredible tamales. To finish, we shared a caramel flan, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The pricing was very reasonable, the service was exceptional, and the food was memorable. We will definitely be back again if only for those amazing tamales!

They offer booth and table seating, and the tables aren't packed too close together. With party members who have different mobility challenges, the spacing was great and made everything comfortable. The food was delicious. The complimentary bottomless chips and salsa were fresh and generous. If you order the horchata, it comes with free refills too, which is such a nice touch. Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
