Sonrisa Grill is easily one of the best waterfront dining experiences in the Las Vegas valley. Located right in Montelago Village at Lake Las Vegas, the setting alone makes it worth the visit. The lake views, spiral staircases, and pastel architecture give it a fun, resort-style vibe. The food absolutely delivers -- flavorful street-style tacos, sizzling fajitas, and fresh enchiladas layered with house-made salsas. The margaritas are balanced and not overly sweet, which I always appreciate. Great atmosphere, solid service, and a perfect excuse to spend more time at Lake Las Vegas. I'll definitely be back.

Most definitely a hidden gem in the East Las Vegas Valley at Lake Las Vegas. A dining experience not to be missed and a must add to your favorites collection. Comida, Servicio, y Ambiente autentico sin reservacion! Arriba Las Vegas! Buen apetito, amigos!

This place never disappoints! Hubby and I come here when in the area or when we feel like visiting Lake Las Vegas. Everything we have tried here so far has been very delicious! I always forget to take pics of food here but managed to snap a pic of their Piña Coladas when I was here with a friend! Everyone is always very friendly here and the restaurant is always clean.

Stopped by Sonrisa Grill while at Lake Las Vegas and honestly this place is all about the vibe. The patio overlooking the village and lake makes it such a relaxing spot, especially around sunset. Chips and salsa came out fresh, margaritas were solid, and the service was super friendly and attentive the whole time. Food was flavorful with big portions, and the live music added a fun atmosphere without being overwhelming. Definitely a great place to hang out, have drinks, and enjoy the scenery. Will be back for sure!

Great service, very accommodating and pleasant staff, unique location and reasonable pricing. We had a tostada salad, coctel del camerones, cucumber martini and a Michelada. Great spot for tequila tasting, and, vegetarian friendly, we've been here when a DJ is playing outside. (TBH the hot uneven walk from parking was tough on our older friend as parking isn't nearby.)

Love the view and patio seating, our waitress was nice and accommodating. There was a bit of a wait but there was an event going on so it was fine. The food was okay, my drink looked amazing but didn't have much mango flavor as it was a mango margarita.. my mom got a guava margarita and it tasted like cotton candy so she switched it to strawberry but she didn't really enjoy it either , it wasn't that rich red you would normally see and didn't like the blend on it. Also, they do charge for every little thing. If they ask if you want a side of sour cream and guac with your meal it's $4 each. And we asked for a side of bbq sauce for my daughter's chicken tenders and that was a charge of over $3. So that was a bit disappointing. But service was good and at least you get a pretty view.

Did a short hike near Lake Las Vegas and decided to stop here for lunch. Sat by the bar...nice view of the lake & patio. Decided on the taco combo...chicken & avocado..both were good. I really liked the salsa that comes with the chips...a good amount of heat. Their service was good, as well. Good place for lunch with nice lake view .

Great lunch over at Sonrisa Grill! It may have been one of the highlights of our Vegas trip. Arrived for lunch on a weekday for a big party of 8. We had no reservation, but the crew were able to accommodate us super quickly. I love a great customer experience, so I was impressed. Thanks to John and the team for making this easy. For drinks, I got the jalapeno margarita and shared a shot with my sister in law. Both were great! For food, we shared the tortillas with soup and the Skirt Steak a la Tampiqueña and both were too good! First of all, I'm a major fan creamy tortilla soup. It's mega comforting and perfect for this time of year. The skirt steak was delicious! It had smothered onions in a cream sauce on top accompanied with an enchilada. Loved it! Nice times were had over at Sonrisa Grill! It was nice to hang out with family in a great environment.

Came here for our anniversary dinner. The view was absolutely beautiful and the drinks were amazing. The food, however, didn't feel very authentic Mexican. The service was just okay--I had to get up and get my own napkins, possibly because we were seated outside while it was busy inside. It was also a bit pricey for what it was, and we've had much better quality food for a lower price. Overall, it's a nice spot for the atmosphere and cocktails, but there is room for improvement with the food, service, and value.

Visited this hidden gem while staying at local resort. Greeted and seated right away. Weather was perfect so we sat outside. I'm not sure if chips and salsa are given to every table, but we had to ask for some. I ordered a corona margarita and it was delish! For my entree, I went with the chile relleno, chicken taco and rice & beans. I was very pleased with my meal. I really liked that they had a soft corn tortilla vs the crunch Taco Bell kind. My husband got enchiladas, but had to send them back since they came with the wrong sauce. He enjoyed those as well. Service was great and didn't take too long for refills and such. Would come back when in the area again.

Tortilla soup! So good!

Ask the Community - Sonrisa Grill

What days/times are karaoke?

I wasn't there during karaoke. You may want to call the establishment and ask.

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? Does this restaurant use a shared fryer for things like flour tortilla taquitos that would cross contaminate gluten free corn tortilla chips? I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free.

It is shared fryer.

Small pets allowed on patio?

That's a good question. My recommendation is to call direct to make sure.......one way or another. Hope this helps. (702) 568-6870

Do they require masks?

Yes, until you start your meal/drink.

Do they take reservations? Ive tried calling the last 3 days and no one answers.

They do not take reservations. Average wait 20 minutes peak hours

Good Mexican for me means mid level, sit down, combo plates at a reasonable price. I'm not into upscale Mexican, Americanized or fusion. I knew locals liked this place so wanted to give it a try, since it's near our house and I drive by it all the time. So what do I mean by mid level? I'm talking solid 7-8 rated food in a comfortable, simple environment. Authentic. Happy to report everything was a solid 7-8 lol. Nothing amazing but totally satisfying and enjoyable. We all enjoyed our entrees, and we even all drank our soup, which I normally pass on at other spots. Usually it tastes like Lipton soup out of a packet, but theirs is more homemade feeling. And as we all know, any place that serves refried beans with the chips and salsa automatically gets a big bump up. If you know you know.. Add service, view and mariachi vibes... the 3.5 becomes a 4. Glad I was able to finally try this iconic spot in Henderson. Will definitely return in the future when craving some Mexican comfort food.

I suspect the nighttime view is even better. I can tell this is definitely a locals favorite. I was surprised they even had a few table top slot games near the bar. Staff was epicly friendly and kind. The food came out quickly. One of the members of our party had the Chile Colorado. They said it was not as spicey as it should be. I had a bite and the meat was a little harder than expected but flavoring was nice. Plus, I have never had it anywhere else. Overall a nice little lunch. But yes, the caddilac needed grand marnier, not so much ice and less oranges inside. Will be back!

Again, not bad, just not what I personally look for when I'm craving authentic posole. I also love that it's not overly popular to the point where you're waiting forever to be seated. After our last trip when we received absolutely crap service and the manager tried to make it right by comping us, she indicated that the next meal "was on her" and urged us to come back "and give them another chance".. I took her at her word and contacted the restaurant to let her know that I was going to bring my wife and her parents to the restaurant for her birthday. So I contacted the restaurant and informed them that we wanted a reservation for four and that was my wife's birthday. I was contacted and told that they would do something special. We showed up and the front girl was "perfunctory at best". We were seated and waited 20 minutes before we received any water or chips. However, the staff was busy bustling to set this large table in the middle of the dining room for a group that wouldn't show up for 10 minutes. They literally had their chips, salsa, water etc. 10 minutes before we did and we weren't even there. When we did get a waitress she was perfunctory and less than friendly. When I told her we were there for my wife's birthday her answer was "oh that's nice". Far cry from "we will make the evening special for you". We got our food which was fine but absolutely nothing. Throughout the meal the waitress spent all of her time chatting with the large group in the middle - obviously her friends or whatever because they got five star service while we were simply ignored. If we wanted to get a refill of a glass of water or in my father-in-law's case, some sour cream, had to literally get up and pull her away from her buddy table to get service. In addition, not a happy birthday, dessert nothing. So much for trusting the manager when she said that she was going to comp the meal or even at the minimum do something to celebrate the birthday. If we went to something as mundane as Applebee's my wife would've got a piece of cheesecake lol. Very disappointed in this place. We love the food but the service is just crap.
