Wonderful food, atmosphere, and service. They are very accommodating of dietary restrictions. Gluten free and vegan options. I believe they said the following can be made gluten free: mushroom tofu soup, vegetable tofu soup, tofu bibimbob, vegetable bibimbob, mushroom curry rice, and tofu curry rice. My family and I frequent Soorah quite often, we are always served hot, delicious, tasty Korean cuisine. Our go to dish is the Ginseng soup, which is served with a whole Cornish game hen, it does cost a little more than some of the other items ($19) but you will have a wonderful meal that will last you another day or two. First experience eating Korean food. My husband had the bento with bulgogi and I ordered bibimbap with beef. They came with side dishes like kimchi and pickled onions. It was soooooo good. Our waiter Dale was great about explaining dishes and sauces. So good we decided to go back a few days later We ordered seafood pancake and spicy pork bibimbap. With a swanky backdrop (at the old 38 Central), and a dangerously delicious bulgogi - this is a repeat offender. I wrote a review a while back because of a bad experience I had. I am allergic to eggs and ended up having an allergic reaction after lunch here one day. I posted a review on Yelp and decided not to go back. Today my coworkers wanted to try it so we went back. The owner immediately recognized me and thanked me for coming back in. I was confused as I didn't really think he would have recognized me from my review months before. As soon as we sat down he came over to our table and apologized for the egg incident and thanked me for coming back in - he also told me how the staff are much more versed in allergies now as a result. He asked if I had seen his message back to me on Yelp. I hadn't as I don't check Yelp that frequently. His message back was very polite an apologetic. Restaurant owners like this are a credit to their profession. He took the time to listen to me and even remembered me months later. Thank you Soo Rah for your hard work and dedication. Coming from the Bay Area where Korean food is a plenty, I was a little skeptic that there would be asian food at all this far north and was excited to find this gem in Medford! The interior of the restaurant was beautiful with an authentic Korean outfit and long draping curtains that served a partition for busier evenings. The tables were wooden and sturdy with cushioned chairs for guests to settle in. My fiancé and I came in the afternoon for a break during our road trip and were looking forward to eating something closer to home. The food was a bit blander than expected but the silver fish, celery and pickled veggie sides came with the typical red house sauce that had a saltier flavor that melded well with our spicy pork stone pots. The pickled veggies and sides were unexpected and different compared to the ones in the Bay that usually feature tofus, fish and kimchi and the bowl seemed less flavorful than I remember but overall the bowls were filling and worth the trip. I told the chef to do me right and make me a roll of his choice. He rolled me a roll with spicy crap, cucumber and cream cheese in the middle, spicy tuna on top with jalapeños, spicy mayo and a dot of Siracha, the crunchy stuff you see is potatoes and sweet potatoes (most restaurants use tempura crunch because it's cheaper). He rolled me a spicy roll because the first time I came here I asked for something spicy. Yeah that's right he remembered that I like spicy foods. Also the sushi was the fresh. Honestly, was skeptical of coming here for over a year but, i decided to come based on the good reviews. I'm glad i listened to myself. The food seems on the higher end ($27) for a plate but what you don't understand is that you get to try about 6 different smaller platters with your meal, it comes with miso soup, and the quality and size of the meal is unbeatable! The quality is fresh and good, it's light but hearty, came out still cooking and hot! The place is beautiful as well, really good respectful service. Was played beautifully as well. My boyfriend and I ate for $23 and we are literally stuffed. I will be coming back and i encourage you to try it as well. read more
