I really enjoy this spot! The atmosphere is nice and they have a big patio with outdoor seating. The food is delicious and the servers are very friendly and attentive. I do feel like some of the menu items are a little overpriced but they do have a wonderful happy hour during the weekdays. I definitely recommend checking them out! read more

We have LOVED this place forever. They have the best salsa in town! Unfortunately, tonight was such a disappointment. At a 1/2 empty bar it took a full 8minutes to be greeted. While I was waiting for hubby I thought I'd start with a water with lime. That arrived a full 4 minutes later... with lemon. Having paid my bills by bartending for a dozen years, I am both forgiving and, on occasion, not so much..... so my assessment of the bar-staff as "less than adequate" is a kind grade. Between having to call out "excuse me" to get noticed when we had asked for menus a second time ...to the bartender never meeting our eyes as she walked past us to deliver a drink & remove an empty glass from another guest... several times. There is no excuse for not scanning the bartop or customers' faces as you walk from one end to the other. Refills of water were not offered. No check in to see how our food was. I had a very disappointing "new" menu item & although it was pushed to the side of my area, barely touched, the barkeep didn't notice until my dining partner flagged her down. I usually prefer to sit at the bar because the best servers usually become bartenders. Not always true. Sadly. So, mediocre service... at best ....and less than the typically awesome food made for a a rather lackluster dining experience. Oh ... and waiting for a check, twirling the credit card for 10 minutes to signal our readiness to depart does not help your tip. Next Date night, hubby & I will seek out another establishment that deserves our hard earned dollars more. Thus.... the two star review. UPDATE... Came on a Friday around 7:30. Wait was 30 minutes. Was seated and waiter came to table right away for drink and appetizer order. Soft drinks delivered quickly. Dude forgot my beer and another waitstaff ended up delivering to table 15 minutes later. Order took forever to come out of kitchen. When it came it was delicious. I had the 6oz beef filet and salad. Girls had tacos. One order got screwed up; combo should have been fish taco and shrimp taco. Ended up fish taco and chicken taco. We didn't send it back because we were starving. Waiter didn't come back to table for a L O N G time. I needed to send salad back as it had beans and corn (not on my low carb diet). By the time waiter finally returned to table my steak was finished. Oh well. Won't go back. Way over priced even for Nashville. And the restaurant really needs to improve their ventilation system. It's amazing how a bad bartender can ruin an otherwise good meal. Oh and it's expensive AF! We tried Sopapilla's on Mother's Day and were excited to try somewhere new. We were seated pretty quickly given the day and the server arrived in a reasonable amount of time. We tried the pineapple guacamole, tacitos and both were tasty. We ordered drinks and that's when things went south. I asked our waiter how good the bartender was and as expected he said she was one of their best so I ordered a mojito and my wife order skinny something or other. The drinks were pretty awful. Very watered down and not even properly mixed. I then asked for something simple - titos and ginger ale and instead I got a vodka with sprite. My wife's drink was essentially a glass full of simple syrup and ice. The food was good - tasty "upscale" take on Mexican classics but I can't honestly imagine going back simply due to the drinks. Guys. I don't even know if I want to say this because I want to keep it to myself. But I'm from New Mexico and this place is legit. Please go. Order the blue corn chicken enchiladas with green Chile. Then make sure and order sopapillas (none of that fake cinnamon Tex mex stuff) and enjoy with honey. The only thing that needs to be changed to be totally authentic is that the sopapillas need to be free. Sopapilla's is my favorite go-to restaurant. Whether you go for brunch, lunch, or dinner the atmosphere and food is delicious. Every items I have tried on the menu is excellent. From the chicken rolled tacos to the hues rancheros to the tacos, you just cannot go wrong. Sopapilla's is on Open Table which makes getting a table much easier. What I appreciate the most are the waiters that remember me. My very favorite waiter is Tristan. Whenever I eat at Sopapillas, I ALWAYS ask for Tristan. We are repeat customers at Sopapilla's. Have been here several times and Christen took care of us tonight. She is the best server we have had in ages and made the dining experience a great one. She told me about a new menu item - lobster and crab enchiladas- they were fantastic. We also had the shrimp quesadillas and you can't go wrong with this one. We will come back and specifically ask for her to take our table. My husband and I enjoy trying out to new places. I had heard awesome things about Sopapillas, so we decided to give it a try. Their guacamole was VERY fresh and delicious, their cheese dip was to die for! I loved my Red Sangria! Very tasty. I had the tacos, the carnitas taco was my favorite. Food is pretty good, not spectacular. The service is not great, always too few people working during busy times. To go service is absolutely terrible- they rarely even answer the phone. Food was incredibly bland and disappointing. I ordered an omelette with short rib. While the meat was tender, the entire dish was lacking in any kind of flavor. We waited for almost an hour to receive our food and when we did, it was frustrating to receive something that was clearly haphazardly cobbled together. The meat was simply scooped on top of the omelette and there was pretty much nothing else incorporated into it. The potato hash the meal came with was surprisingly undercooked despite how long the meal took to be brought over. I was dining out solo while in town for work and this place was phenomenal! The hostess made me feel super comfortable from the moment I walked in. The house marg is , which is key for me. The house salsa is also really great. I had the blue corn chicken enchiladas and got the Baja sauce (to dieeeeee for - cream cheese jalapeño sauce that's not spicy). Unreal. I also got the Mexican Street corn (cut off the corn), and was very pleasantly surprised. It was a new take for me, and I loved it - has a bit of a Smokey sauce on it with the standard fixings. So actually the food was really great! I had the Nashville Hot Chicken Tacos with Rice and Black Beans. Really good flavor and the right amount of flavor. I would have given 5 stars because it's that good and I will be back but our server was not that great and obviously was ready to get off work because once he got our check he was GONE. We saw him leave the building and get in his car. We had asked to order something to take with us and he never placed the order, neither did anyone else come by our table when he'd left. This will be our last visit to Sopapilla's. Now let me tell you why. We ordered the steak fajitas thinking it would be like the last time we ate there. We were expecting a sizzling platter with tender steak. Well that's not what we got. The steak was tough and definitely not sizzling. The onions and peppers were soggy and oily. After being seated in a wet table top, I looked at the menu and decided to order the tacos. A choice of two for $12 bucks seemed pricey but hey..they have smoked brisket. Well, after I order the server then tells me they're out. Evidently the burger place next door cleaned them out...they're co owned. So, I decide on the 21 day dry aged local steak fajitas and we order the queso. What I found was something that tasted like melted velvets processed cheese. Eek. And the steak, well let's say I was looking for a salt and pepper shaker to give it some flavor. My husband said the same thing about his chicken enchiladas.
