Sora has gained a well-deserved reputation for its ambiance. With its colorful palette, fake flower wall and moody lighting, you've surely seen it popped up on your social media accompanied by people holding glamorous drinks. The sushi is expensive here and you should know that going in. This isn't a cheap date night but remember, you're paying for quality. You get what you pay for! Place your reservation ahead of time because reservations are a must. The few times I've been here, I always see some poor shmuck get turned around at prime time because they thought they could just walk in. They have valet parking outside, or like the rest of this Flats neighborhood, there's metered street parking nearby though a short walk. Our favorite roll is the Mizumi speciality roll with salmon, avocado, torched salmon, mayo, and gold flakes. It's as delicious as it looks and the extravagant gold flakes only add to its photogenic quality. I'm glad we asked our server for sushi suggestions, because he let us know what he was into at the moment and helped us curate a lovely dinner. Stopped into Sora last night for dinner before a concert. The decor is beautiful and Instagram friendly. Service was fast and attentive. I enjoyed the spicy crab on the deep fried rice. We had a "sora" roll with wagyu which was awesome. The fried rice was lacking luster and oily. Timing on the food was extremely fast which I really appreciated. I enjoyed our cocktails a lot too. Visited Sora in May of 2023 with a friend, right after a 2 week trip to Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Nara). I had heard of the Sora boxes, but never been to the physical location up until that point - and it was amazingly close to what I had just seen in Japan in terms of ambiance. The ambiance of Sora is pretty unmatched as it is a very vibey, picturesque inside. The food, the drinks, everything - was very spot on in terms of quality and offerings. They had a nice selection of Suntory Japanese alcohols and drinks, with a modern flare to it. Overall, super impressive we have a spot like this in Cleveland - I have recommended it to many people visiting from out of town. The food was just okay. My favorite item on the menu is the Taiwanese Karaage which is Taiwanese fried chicken and was very flavorful and nice and crispy. The matcha creme brulee was good also. As for sushi, I found it to be mediocre. The Sora roll was good but not enough to live up to the hype. Parking is a little complicated since it is right in the flats and you most likely have to pay. Come early! I can see this place becoming busy as the night goes on and sushi making takes time. They don't open until 4pm. Wish they opened at noon for lunch! The inside is beautifully laid out with pink and black accents. You'll be drawn to a flower wall walking in and then gaze forward to a ceiling of pink flowers stretching along the main seating area. Booth seating, high tables, and bar seating are all available. Private party seating extends in a separate room that is lined with white umbrellas along the ceiling. I was promptly seated at the bar since I was solo and it was just before 5pm. As a vegetarian craving sushi I went for the 'vegetable futo' roll. A mix of carrots, spinach, cucumbers, & avocado. This $14 roll comes in 6 pieces. Overall the roll was okay but the problem was with the spinach. It's cooked so well it was a bit stringy and almost choked on this a few times while eating the roll. I had to deconstruct this roll to eat it. They need to finely chop the spinach and not overcook it or consider tofu as a filling option. Each order comes with a complimentary bowl edamame. Since a manager stopped by at the end of my meal to ask feedback I expressed this concern with the spinach. She took my feedback and was nice enough to box up another item she thought I'd really like. The crispy fried rice cubes with avocado was given to me as I left and I must say despite the oiliness of it, I enjoyed the crispiness of the rice and it pairs well with avocado. Overall, I think you'll fall in love with the floral decor and pink color. Good for a date night or quick solo meal. Located inside the aloft hotel on the opposite side of Lago restaurant, you'll most likely need to find a lot nearby to park unless you do hotel valet. read more

This Friday me and my mother were able to go experience sora, it was worth it, we went around lunch. We were greeted by our server who was very personal and took time with us. We ordered pork buns as a starter. They were struggling with the buns so for the wait they gave them to us for free. Besides the wait they were delectable. As the main course I ordered the Ebisu large roll and my mother got the misu shiitake udon. Mine came shortly after but my mother's took a while. Food was great and the service was amazing. We got a vanilla orange crumble it was worth it. The restaurant as a whole to is buetiful with the Japanese atmosphere and the buetfuil cherry blossom tree and soft music. Bathrooms very clean. I love dining at sushi restaurants, but sushi boxes are a great way to enjoy high end sushi at home. Sora is a ghost kitchen that provides an "upscale" experience and minimal sushi for you to enjoy at your place. We ordered a Sora Box over the phone and it was ready in 15 minutes. Sora has foldout signs out front. We parked in the valet lane while our food was prepared. After a 25 minute ride back home, we enjoyed our box. It was enough for two. It seemed to be akima tuna, which is leaner than toro. My favorites of the box were the salmon and yellowtail nigiri. My partner liked the sea bass nigiri. The spicy tuna crispy rice was fun and a mixture of textures. But I did not find it to be particularly spicy or to have a unique flavor profile. The avocado in the salmon avocado roll was very fresh and perfectly ripe, making for a great hand roll. The flakey salt on the edamame was a nice touch, but ultimately the flakes were so large that I scraped them off of the pieces because it became too salty. Their spicy mayo was delicious, and I appreciated the large servings of wasabi and ginger, as well as the jalapeño. I did not, however, find it to be an "upscale" experience in the current form. From the packaging materials (Millennial pink), design and photos on the inside cover, to the the presentation - it felt clean, accessible, fun, and minimal - but not elegant, elevated, or luxurious. It was not the best sushi I've had in Cleveland, but I'd like to come back and try again once they've opened in-person dining. What I would like to see in the future: * I'd value a section on their website (possibly in the FAQ section) that is dedicated to sustainability and environmental impact in their work. Each box has a cardboard and plastic, and some items, like the adorable sriracha packet will go unused. I'd like to know more about their packaging materials and the fish they source. * A Temaki box, in which customers can build their roll themselves. Chefs can add recommendations for combinations. * A card or message in the box that describes the Chef's roll, since it changes weekly. read more

Don't let my 3 star rating deter you from trying this restaurant! The food and drinks were delicious. Our server was great, especially for how busy the night was. Amazing atmosphere and perfect location for a girls night or a date night. The biggest negative was the front hostess staff. We had a large party reservation booked for months. The hostess staff must have had a mishap with their seating arrangements that night. Needless to say they didn't get us seated until an hour after our reservation time. They also weren't working hard to get us a table after their mistake. They were very and unnecessarily rude to my friends as they entered the restaurant.
