I came to eat here with my mom and we sat at the bar and enjoyed one of the best authentic Italian meals I've had in quite a long time. The service was also warm and the owner even came over to chat about the wine list and share some of her history with us. Bartenders were so sweet and helpful. Next was the burrata salad with strawberries... divine. We then had on to the pasta allá vodka. O.M.G. Sooooo delicious, it took great willpower not to eat it all, but we had entrees coming. I thought the food was excellent but the lasagna I ordered was just luke warm and and a very small portion. Bread was brought but not until asked for. Chef Lauren Blumenthal has created quite a special destination. The pastas were perfection and everything was prepared beautifully on our first visit. The branzino was delicious and the porterhouse with the added bone marrow was such a treat although it is not a porterhouse but more of a deconstructed porterhouse with a delicious bone marrow treat. The desserts were amazing with a tiramisu that was honestly one of the best desserts I've ever had. Our second visit we had a little different experience. Our server was very distracted. We had to keep waving her down to order. The pastas and the main dishes were served all together which was a bummer. There were shards of bone in the Osso bucco (not the main Bone) and many small bones in the branzino. Everything still had amazing flavor but clearly the prep had some issue. The whipped ricotta appetizer was served with old stale bread which was sad because the cheese was delicious. All that being said, the food still tasted great and I still think it's right up there with one of our best restaurants. I'm looking forward to my next visit! read more

I was so excited to dine here. We invited another couple. We arrive 8 min early. There was NO nearby parking. We walked 3 blocks, had to leave car next to some homeless vagrants. It was 98 degrees out, we were not allowed inside. Had to "wait for rest of party to be seated". Bartender was rude, unhappy, unfriendly to my husband and I. Perked right up with happy smiles when 2 barely dressed girls sat down. Our server Margaret was lovely. Meatballs were great! All pasta (carbonara & lemona(sp?)were sticky and lacked salt. No salt on table. My Lasagna was over salted and a mushy mess. Did not eat it. Brought whole thing home tossed it this morning. Cannolis were too thick and soft. Obviously, prefilled And left to set in fridge all day. Our tab was $250+ we tipped Margaret and the rude bartender $50. We will NOT return, nor recommend. We ARE not happy! read more

My family and I wanted to try Sorella, we've heard a lot of hype about it but honestly nothing special at all. 1. The glasses were dirty and smelled like a dirty dish washer so every time you would go to take a drink of water or take a bite out of your food you almost gag because of the smell 2. The ambiance is welcoming and enough Italian that reminds me of my hometown little Italy locations in Cleveland, pics, lighting, quaint, etc. The service was very pleasant and the the cocktails were on point, I don't remember the names but the bourbon house cocktail was a nice twist. The salads were fresh both Caesar and house. The limone and bolognese were excellent, good portion and the meat was more than I expected. Fresh pasta was soooo good, perfectly cocked. The bolognese sauce was such a unique and rich combo so hard to describe but put me in a good coma. The affogato is so classic. The owner stopped by with a shot of homemade limoncello, she was so down to earth and wanted to tell us stories, it was a great palette cleanser and a great story. I don't leave many reviews but when I do I try to be positive. However, this is hard. Our waitress was wonderful. She couldn't help that the kitchen staff didn't know what they were doing. there were a lot of people just standing around. Our daughter brought us a gift card and the three of us went there for dinner. Being military and living in Sicily for MANY years we were excited to actually find an "Italian" restaurant in Spokan. And my stepdaughter is half Sicilian where she lives and we just returned from. We ordered our antipasti (2 of them) and one of them was forgotten. We had to ask for it which we watched her enter it into the computer After we had to ask for it. Ok everyone makes a mistake but it was a weekday and they had just opened and we were one of the 1st tables. Just for the record, Sicily which is where the Arancini is from and they do not put a sauce it! Assuming it was a "real" Italian restaurant we ordered our dinner like we would in Italy because we know they believe that when you eat it's about enjoying your meal, eating and family NOT rushing like we do in the states. So we ordered the primi(1st dish)/secondi(second dish), and they all came out at the same time! Not to mention my daughter and I ordered the special for that night and they brought out something completely different. Turns out it was from the night before. Not to mention when the staff delivered the food to the table they just put the food on the table not even knowing where the food went. Then they tried to make it up to us by giving us a SHOT of Prosecco. We attempted to contact the manager just to inform them about this but did not hear back. We are not ones to complain, we usually just put up with things, pay our bill and move on but this time it was hard to do. SAD Overall the food was so-so but my husband and I can do much better. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation. There were no other guests ahead of us and plenty of empty tables and there were 3 staff persons standing at the desk. We were told to sit down and wait to be seated. Pretentious. The music was so loud we almost turned around and walked back out. The Caesar salad is not a true Caesar. It is lettuce with a very strong lemon vinaigrette with a minuscule dusting of parmesan--no garlic at all that I could taste. And where were the croutons?? Our waitress was away more than she was around - we had to clear our own salad dishes when the entrees arrived while the staff just stood and looked at us. The staff then just dropped our entrees on the table, grabbed our salad dishes, and walked off. Very unpleasant and didn't seem happy to be there. The entrees were not memorable. The meat in the Bolognese was tough. The appetizers and entrees were very salty. We skipped dessert. We were extremely disappointed after we had read all the 5 star reviews. Okay, so we couldn't get a reservation and drove to the restaurant around 4pm. A lovely hostess informed us to come back at 4:55pm to ensure we got a seat at the bar. So we get a seat at the bar , which is now full with everyone who didn't get a reservation. No biggie, bartender was very friendly, we ordered whipped ricotta and a Panzenella salad- tomatoes and croutons with a delicious dressing. Chicken Parm and Eggplant Parm was okay, the pasta was delicious, yet warm, not hot, best part of the meal. My problem is that while we were jammed like Sardines at the bar - they had 10 open tables. Sorella is a must visit spot. I have been over 5 times since it opened and everything on the menu is literally to die for. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Tonight we went to celebrate a new job & anniversary. When we arrived there was a very sweet card on the table, such a thoughtful touch. The service is impeccable, our waiter was attentive and a delight to spend our evening with. We had the salumi and muscles as an appetizer and had to constantly remind ourselves to save room for our actual meals, SO GOOD. Every ingredient is high quality and fresh and you can 100% taste it. W for dinner we had the New York steak with mushrooms and fingerling potatoes and salsa verde and the branzino. My boyfriend was skeptical about the salsa verde on the steak, but after the first bite he was awestruck. Sorella 100% knows what they are doing. Branzino was also incredible. We forced ourselves to eat so much because it would not do this food justice to reheat it. Please. If you have not been here go. Just go. You will also want to name your first born child after Lauren, the incredible owner. Ambiance is 11/10, no other place like it in Spokane. Intimate, exclusive and welcoming all at once. Atmosphere is great but on our last visit, there were 4 of us, we were served two pasta dishes with over cooked pasta, in one case almost mushy, and a Caesar salad that was drowning in dressing. Also, while the component parts of the scallop dish were good, they did not combine well, with the scallops tasting very bland. Service was good. read more
