Sorella is a well-executed glitzy Italian restaurant and a much-needed addition to spokane's finer dining scene. The four of us were seated by the open kitchen, which was interesting to observe and gave off The Bear vibes. The booth we sat in was pretty tight but bearable bc, with the loud/chatty ambiance, it kind of made you feel like you were an avant-garde artist in an Italian salon? lol we ordered the ricotta w focaccia ($14), dante's meatballs ($12), broccolini ($12), a la vodka w prawns ($31), veal parmigiana ($32), lasagna ($28), san marzano w chicken that came out much later than the pasta ($26), and pistachio panna cotta ($12). All of the pasta and the meatballs were a bit salty, but other than that they tasted rich in flavor. The san marzano and parmigiana's pomodoro sauce was too acidic for my liking and the pasta for those were a bit too al dente for me, but the a la vodka and lasagna were practically perfect. Our waiter seemed to be the only one on duty and looked super busy, but was friendly and hospitable and offered to comp the san marzano's chicken. We had a 5pm reservation, we were promptly seated in our "quaint" table for two and received immediate service. Our server was great, however, did not offer up any dessert when our meal was finished. The food was delicious! Sadly the visit was ruined when we were asked to vacate our table. We were told that we were infringing upon the next guests' reservation. The two of us were already in the process of preparing to leave, but apparently not quick enough. I've never had a restaurant push me out. I will admit, we had been in our seats for approximately 2 hours on a Thursday night. Our bill was $190 before tip (included wine) so we had a full meal, not just hors d'oeuvres. read more

Wow!! My friends and I came here when we were out and about and somehow were able to snag a table for 4! The food is incredible, I loved the cesar salad, and the lemon pasta. I have tried re creating it at home multiple times as i find myself thinking about it quite frequently! Came with a larger party for a friend birthday. The inside is BEAUTIFUL. The decor is immaculate and the vibes were set. We felt as if we walked into some restaurant in New York City. Bouijee. The drinks were so good! Our server was great as well. As a table we all kind of ordered something and passed it around so we could try it all. For the most part the food was really tasty there was some lacking salt, but that's to my tasting, added salt and it was incredible! The owner or maybe the GM is very present around the restaurant and walks around to check in on tables and get feedback, to me this is SO important and a really great look on the restaurant. She was dressed beautifully and was a pleasure to chat with. We even asked her the name of the color of paint on the accent walls and she was willing to go to the back and find out the name for us. Service was outstanding! Nyiah was amazing as were bar staff and food runners. Food was prepared to perfection. Dante's Meatballs were best ever. Sorella has a fantastic take on a Buratta salad, I was not sure about it from the description but it did not disappoint. Pasta with vodka sauce amazing with just the right amount of tooth on the pasta (I suggest keeping spice level at a two). Oso Buco was perfect and served with a hearty serving of risotto perfectly prepared. The Filet is delicious. The problem was no room to try dessert. Best food I've had in a long time! The service was fantastic and the setting was very unique. This place is going to raise the bar for Spokane restaurants. The Vodka dish was perfect if you like a little spice. Their lasagna is better than grandma's recipe, which was always hard to beat for me. The Burrata salad was refreshing and the lemon tart was the perfect way to end the date. The flavors and textures of each dish complimented each other so well. Disappointing. After reading the previous reviews I was excited to try Sorella, but sadly it didn't live up to expectations. This may be decent American Italian food, but it's not Italian food. We did enjoy the meatballs. The so called "focaccia" was a small loaf of toasted bread dripping with excessive olive oil. The lasagna was extremely thick and dry with multiple layers of pasta and little sauce. The pasta bolognese- wow! Huge clumps of ground beef in the sauce, I think they may have just quartered one of the meatballs and mixed it with tomato sauce. But, the worst part was that it was served on a bed of lukewarm pasta! I could not believe the pasta wasn't hot. The eggplant of the parmigiana was good, but again it was served on top of cold pasta - unbelievable. I'm sure they cooked the pasta, plated it and then let it sit and get cold before they put the sauce on it. The service was quick and pleasant, the ambiance was nice. If you enjoy American-ized Italian food it may be worth a visit, but if you are expecting real Italian food I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

Just average. I ordered the pasta bolognese and was surprised at how much sauce was actually in the dish. Not much compared to the amount of pasta, was also room temperature and the sauce was not good at all. Our guests asked for help with the wine and $168 bottle was suggested when most of the Italian wines were around $80. No questions about what we ordered to compliment the suggestion. $600 later we were told that we needed to leave because others were waiting for our table. Did not know that there was a time limitation on their reservations of 2 hours. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service was good, but the food and 2 hour policy not so much. My wife and I were looking forward to going to Sorella. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The dining tables were so close to each other that it was uncomfortable to sit. I had to turn sideways to get to my seat, the people sitting next to us got a great view of my butt. It was so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation. The service was good, the food was average, based on the price I would expect fresh pasta, it definitely wasn't fresh. The menu had pasta stains all over it. My one star is based on the sullen, no-eye-contact demeanor of the cute, VERY young women at the hostess station when they semi-mumbled to us we would have a "long" wait for a table. Not their fault, of course, but I had been assured by friends that they had never needed a reservation. However, on this Thursday night the place was packed. We might well have decided to wait, but the young women's lack of customer service training was a black flag, to us, regarding the restaurant's quality overall. We departed cordially and went to a different restaurant and had a great meal. Although it was certainly no skin off Sorella's nose that we decided to leave -- they had the customers! -- they may well have lost me and my friends as future customers, as well. We had a great experience at dinner here tonight. We have been wanting to try for so long but we have such weird schedules that reservations don't always work out for us. We decided to stop in to see if they had any free tables for our family of 3 and they were so kind and got us seated right away. The restaurant was full, so we were so happy it worked out and that they did this for us. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Our daughter especially loved watching the food be prepared and seeing all the dishes come out. Our server made awesome recommendations, was so kind to our 5y/o daughter. When dining out at nicer restaurants sometimes the service does not feel as welcoming, so it was a pleasant surprise. We did not feel rushed or anything, they took their time with everything while still providing a great dining experience. The food: I got the limone with prawns and it was very refreshing and a good portion size. My fiancé got the bolognese which had so much flavor and the noodles were . We also got the focaccia which fresh and warm with the best butter and balsamic/oil mix. Our daughter got the butter noodles, and they were also very tasty. They had a few options for kids; butter noodles, Mac and cheese (we also got to try this and it was soooo tasty), and noodles with red sauce. For dessert I had the tiramisu- it was the best! They also ended up bringing our daughter a complimentary gelato which she and my fiancé devoured. They both said it was the best vanilla bean ice cream. It was an okay experience. Definitely didn't live up to the hype. The service was very slow, which would've been fine if they were busy or if the food was spectacular. Unfortunately I'd have to say while the food was good, it was all veryyy VERY salty. Like mouth puckering, shriveled tongue salty. All members of our table agreed. They were kind enough to bring out another chicken but unfortunately that was salty too, and the server said there wasn't any added salt. Confusing. With how many great reviews there are, I'd say we probably have a fluke night. So, taking into consideration the cost to quality, it was a less than average experience. Our first time here. We were seated at our reservation time. The place is very small and the tiny 2 person tables are only about 20" apart. Way too close to have any conversation privacy. It is super noisy, so much so that I could not hear my husband across the table. Everyone around us had to should to be heard. The chatty Kathy next to me had the mouth of a sailor and every other word was a swear. There is no sound absorption on the walls. All hardscapes. The decor was warm with lots of pictures and a dark green color. The food was unexpectedly bad. We started with the focaccia bread. It was doused in olive oil and sliced. However, not all the way through so you had to tear it. And with all the oil your hands got greasy tearing it apart from the base. I had the Carbonara which had a very unpleasant flavor. The chunks of bacon were mostly fat so inedible. I took a few bites and did not finish it. Husband had the Pesto with prawns. He enjoyed the 2 prawns on the dish and the flavor of the pasta but it was way undercooked. He asked me to taste for my opinion and it was kind of hard. Broccolini was our veggie dish. Long, stringy and was just okay. We did not order dessert as there was no tiramisu. What Italian place does not have that?? Supposed to be a nice birthday dinner for me but was ruined by the bad food. Wait staff was friendly but unprofessional. Our server was a young gal wearing a long sleeved sweater and while she was standing at our table she continued to put her hands up into her sleeves. What is with that. I have been to Italy twice and had some wonderful food. This was not like that at all. Prices were on par with other restaurants however still high. My small pasta dish was $21.00. If you don't like the food here, then I can't really trust you as person. Some of the best Italian food I've had in Spokane. The place has a classy vibe, great decor and strives for a high end feel. The meatballs were amazing and the lasagna was delicious. We did not enjoy the lemon cello drink. It was very pine and bitter tasting, not lemony and refreshing. The coffee gelato we had for dessert was exceptionally good! Let's talk about service. My husband and I made a reservation three weeks in advance and the only time available on a Saturday night was 4 PM. When making a reservation, we were told to make sure we arrive early because if we are not on time or even a few minutes late, our table will be given away. OK no problem so we arrived at 3:53 to the doors being locked, the waitress opens the door and says I'm sorry it's not 4 PM. You'll have to wait outside, current temperature 26°, behind us several other couples, she opens the doors for each one of them and says the same thing. Outside of the restaurant we all confirm that we were told to come early and we're given the impression we could wait in the lobby until our table is ready. The consensus was that this was incredibly rude and it did damper our wonderful experience in the restaurant. There was more than enough room in the beautiful lobby for us all to wait inside. One couple even left after speaking with the waitress. I suggest the owner addresses and changes this policy, frankly it's just rude! read more

Chef Tarik is amazing!! Our entrees were fantastic and he personally came to our table to ask how we liked our meal. When my friend mentioned that she wished there was something chocolate on the dessert menu he brought us not one but TWO chocolate desserts that he was "working on." The manager should really pick a lane here. They can't decide on what they really care about. The miscommunication that goes on with the staff side is ridiculous, and then when they make a mistake, they think they can fix it with a teeny tiny shot glass of lemon cello, the best thing about this place is the paint job on the walls. There's definitely nothing actually Italian about this restaurant, which sucks because we had such high expectations going into this place and even waited several months to be able to go on the day/time they are actually open. I wouldn't waste my hundreds of dollars on going here if I were you. There are better Italian restaurants in town, with less attitude, and for less price. read more
