Recommended by a coworker, my first visit was lunch. I had the potstickers and green curry with chicken. Curry was hot with a medium spice level, and it was fair value for portion. I was disappointed that the potstickers were deep fried but they tasted ok. They were served with sweet and sour dipping sauce. The server was prompt to keep my drink full, and even filled it after I paid my bill. It is a small restaurant but was doing a constant stream of to go orders. I plan on returning to try their red curry and their Pad Thai.

Why have I not gone here in the many years I've been in loudoun. This is good Thai food at a good price with good service. It's clean. The have lunch and dinner portions on most everything. I will note the place had an odd odor.

Maybe we didn't order the right items as our experience was just "OK". I came across this restaurant through one of those Yelp emails that talks about local eateries and we decided to give it a try. We were here on a Saturday around 5 p.m. Our server was friendly and it was she who also greeted and seated us. She also was prompt and efficient. After looking over the menu, we both knew what we wanted to have. I started with a bowl of "Tofu Soup" and for my entree, I chose "Vegetable Pad Thai". My husband started with a bowl of "Wonton Soup" and his entree was "Hawaiian Shrimp". To drink, we had water. The kitchen was fast when it came to preparing our food. The Tofu soup had a generous portion of tofu but the pieces were cut really large. However, it was very bland and flavorless. My husband said his soup had some flavor. The wontons had shrimp in them. The vegetable Pad Thai had a good selection of veggies in it and the noodles were well cooked. It was a huge portion. I was pleased to see baby corn in it but...the corn was pickled and I didn't care for it. The other veggies were well prepared. There was also tofu and egg in it. I guess the best way to describe this dish was to say it was "OK". My husband said his Hawaiian Shrimp was fine. The Shrimp were good sized and still had the tails attached. He thought the sauce was more sweet than sour and he wished it was better balanced. He liked the assorted veggies in his dish---pineapple, onions, green pepper and tomatoes. His portion was more reasonable in size than mine was. We had no complaints about the cost, as their items are reasonably priced. Still...I don't think we will return...

Tofu with Chili and Basil *** with extra added veggies

I am addicted to this place. I came for convenience because it's so close to my house, kept coming back because the food is so damn good. It's a super cozy spot with lots of seating and a bar. Lots of bar regulars here which is cute. They have a large menu with good sized portions and great prices. The waitresses are wonderful and super attentive.

Super delicious! We have been here on the past and remember that the food and service were fantastic. Fast forward a few years and living nearby, we found them again on Yelp! Located off route 7 in the countryside shopping center, sits this little hidden gem. It's not hidden to most people because they do a huge carry out business. We were hungry. We started with the appetizer sample: fried tofu, mini dumplings 2 kinds, chicken satay, shrimp roll and fried eggrolls. This was an amazing platter for an excellent price. I craved Pad Thai and chose the vegetable version. This was super yummy, full of fresh veggies and tofu. Plenty enough for take out. Hubby loves Chili Basil with beef, watch for his review. I could not eat anymore and placed a takeout dessert order. Everything was fantastic! Can't wait to eat there again SOON!

We had dinner twice in a week on vacation. We ate in. Food: 4.5 Stars Service: 5 Stars Atmosphere: 4 Stars Our first time in I went with the basic order, pad Thai. I was pleased with quality and taste. The second trip I branched out a bit and ordered the Hawaiian shrimp. I was happy with my meal but will not order it again. The sides/appetizers were all tasty. My first grader loved the chicken satay kids meal. She was excited to order it again. The service was attentive and efficient. The food comes out hot, but not too hot. They are doing a lot of take out business so even though the tables are about half filled the restaurant was always bustling. If you are in the mood for Thai this is a great place to go or order from.

Pre-Pandamic our go-to Thai resstaurant was Sense of Thai in One Loudoun. Always busy, always great food with interesting fusion dishes. We tried their carry-out twice during the pandamic and were fankly disappointed a the food was average. We decided to try out Sortrel Thai restaurant in Sterling, a restaurant we visited many years ago and one we pass by all the time. It was a much beter experience. Located at the back of Countryside Mall and close to CVS, the pick-up service was a nice change. Rather than milling around outside the restaurant as most do (and endangering social distance), they allow you to come in as you show up and enter a small inside door where you pay, sign with a "clean" pen which when fisnihed goes to the "dirty" bin (like the doctor's office) and then it ready you take your food or encoraged to sit in your vehicle outside (plenty of parking). The food we ordered came in nicely packaged containers. We ordered sring rolls for appetizers. They were great. We ordered Thai red curry with shrimp. Two things to note. We asked for it not to be too watery and it was, but the sauce was tasty. Secondly there is no mild Thai red curry. We asked and they were upfront it would be spicy and it was. Good. We ordered chef's fried rice and it was delicious. Would have been nicer if it had more vegetables. In a normal environment. I would have rated this a 4 star. But the effort they put in and the tastiness allows me to give it a 5 as this is not during normal times and it clearly is the best we have come across during these past 4 weeks.

Best Thai food I've ever had! The chicken with rice noodles and the panang curry are my go to dishes. I love this place so much that sometimes I eat it for both lunch and dinner in the same day! My roommates are hooked on it too. The lunch deal is awesome! The people who work here are extremely nice too! read more

The food is delicious but the service is horrible. They were out of edamame (I ordered delivery). The man called me and demanded I ordered something else to still reach the delivery minimum. He kept arguing with me to order something else. When I told him there was nothing else I wanted to spend money on because I wouldn't eat it (I can't help there isn't anything else I like on their menu), he began to argue with me and at first refused to not only not deliver, but also refused to cancel my order. Eventually, he cancelled the order, but with a lot of attitude. I ordered from here regularly. They do not value their customers at all. It will be a frosty day in hell before I support this establishment filled with incompetent and rude staff. I hope they go out of business. read more

This place is very meh. Their food doesn't have a lot of flavor, and is overpriced. I'd recommend other places in the area. We got the pad and ginger seafood which was very underwhelming and under seasoned. The restaurant looks inviting inside, but we just got takeout. Shame the food isn't tastier! read more

Excellent authentic Thai dishes. Quaint place with very friendly service and delicious food. Highly recommend the chicken satay in a sweet peanut sauce and Rama chicken dish which is in a savory peanut sauce accented with ginger. The chicken vegetable dumplings and spring rolls were tasty and the shrimp wonton soup is in a nice garlic broth. You feel like family when you're there. We're definitely making this our go to for dine in or take out Thai. I bet their pad Thai is amazing. That sauce - YUM! read more

First time experience. Ordered two appetizers which were fair. May have been better if we were able to dine in the restaurant. As for the entrees the crispy basil was not as crispy as we have had it at other restaurants. The drunken noodles were generous in size and fairly tasty. read more

I tried to place an online to go order about 45 minutes before closing and realized when I got there that I messed up the order and it wasn't submitted! The staff was very kind and rushed my order in before closing and it came out hot and delicious! I had the pad tai, fire cracker chicken and the chefs rice. It was perfect and hit the spot! I recommend this quaint spot to anyone looking for a nice meal and reasonable prices. read more

I loved coming in around noon, there was a few other people, but still pretty empty, so not too much loud chatter going on. I ordered the garlic sauce with beef, and before that, there was a spring roll and a small salad. I was surprised by how much meat I received, even though it was the lunch special. I went away feeling full, with a little to-go box. I'll definitely be coming back! I think I'll stick to lunch, though, the dinner prices are a little much for me. read more

quick delivery!! I ordered before they opened and it got delivered to my house within 10 minutes after their delivery hours started! I ordered the shrimp rolls and the drunken noodle with mixed seafood. It was actually spicy and it was delicious! The shrimp rolls were crunchy and addicting ( i wish i had ordered more.) they were kind enough to give me two coupon codes for next time as well. Amazing service and amazing food!! read more

So good and tasty!! Ordered the Rama chicken and it was delicious. White saved chicken on a not so thick sauce. Very tasty, kind of citrusy. Got white rice with it which Waac kind of sticky, so just ok. I'm definitely going back for a few other options pikns in the menu that looked interesting ;) service during pick up was good. Enough parking since it is next to CVS in Countryside. read more

This is our 2nd time there. Servers are nice but the food seems to be getting worse. 1st time kinda appeals us but it appears food getting more salty. Not sure if it's some trend, we visited few others (Thai cuisines) within 5miles radius and they happen to be same nature. Per my wife, the one right at the downtown SilverSpring where Regals is still good though I prefer the smaller family operated one just around the corner. read more

Sortrel is one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to and I am not exaggerating. Ping the waitress has been so accommodating for the past five years that we have been going to this place. The service is always great, the food is always consistent, and the wait time is almost nonexistent every time we go here. This is the perfect restaurant to go to where food is above and beyond, the service is outstanding, and waiting time is below 15 minutes on average. I truly recommend this place and hope that everyone comes and tries this restaurant. read more

Ordered takeout from menus and was over charged. Called to clarify pricing and was told our menus must be old ok (fine) Ive only lived in the area a year. My sister goes to pick up the food and the place randomly charges a card on "file". Well I didn't authorize that charge. My sister was going to pay with a different card. They end up holding 2 amounts in error and finally charged correct card. Ok Fine people make mistakes. The problem is customer service. Nothing was done to apologize for the error. Where's the customer service in this situation? No one wants to give business to a dishonest person or establishment. Competition is steep don't treat customers with hard earned money to spend like that. I think Sortel needs to rethink when hiring staff. If your wondering about the food they serve it's good nothing to go crazy about. But when I choose where to spend money I'd rather go somewhere where a $13-15 I pay a plate is equivalent to the portion they serve. And the quality of service is worth my money. If your used to Chinese takeout where the containers are full to the brim your not going to get that here. read more

This place deserves zero stars. Service is terrible. I ordered for pick up and apparently they hold card numbers on file for previous sales because they charged the card without permission (which I found out by surprise when I went to pick up the food). Then they charged my card twice in addition to my sisters and ended up charging us $120 for $40 worth of food! And speaking of the food, it wasn't good at all. The shrimp tasted old and portions were measly. When I called to rectify the payment issue, the lady just argued with me and referred me to my bank and hung up on me. Never again. So rude and with a zillion choices for places to dine they should really think about their customers or lack their of. It was their mistake and should have had no problem reversing the sales but instead they refused to help at all. read more

We have been going to Sortrel for years and have noticed that their dishes are more delicious than ever--which prompted me to write a review. This restaurant is our favorite go to restaurant for take out and they deliver their food HOT! We love their drunken noodles, firecracker chicken, red and green curry and the thai chili basil dishes. This was the worst Pad Thai dish I have ever tasted. It had a super weird flavor that tasted nothing like Pad Thai. It was also very dry. I love Pad Thai and I was extremely disappointed. I was starving and couldn't even eat half of it. Save your curiosity and eat at Sense of Thai instead. Their food is phenomenal. read more

Placed a to go while waiting. Hawaii shrimp dish not that good. Shrimp was dry and shrimpy (like old) tasting. At $15 there are 6 shrimp. Spring rolls were more rolls than spring. 4 @$5.50 kinda expensive. Panang Steak cooked to perfection!!! Didn't take long for the order to come out. And service was great. If I could, I'd give 2.5 stars, not 3. read more

While out for a walk out in our area, we were in the mood for Chinese and then settled on Thai food. I sat on a log in the woods, and while the sun set, I placed my order. By the time I was done, a full moon began to climb up. We headed back to our car. Twenty minutes later, our food, even with a last minute addition was ready (15 minutes earlier than promised which was perfect for us). Got home, found everything delicious, a perfect toast to a beautiful fall walk. read more

I ordered the Firecracker Chicken and it tasted like they cooked shrimp or fish in the pan first and then didn't clean it off before the chicken. Nasty seafood taste to the chicken and got worse with every bite. Did not taste like chicken at all. read more

Sortel is reliably okay, and they deliver, so that's a plus. We have never eaten in the restaurant but get delivery once a month or maybe a little less. We have repeated several dishes and have found that their food can be tasty but also sometimes bland, which should probably never describe Thai food. There seem to be some consistency problems in the kitchen. Delivery is always within the promised time and very pleasant. read more

I'm a regular of this Thai restaurant for over 7 years now...previously 4914 in front of Regal. The new location and decor are nice, but I typically order take-out and the staff is always so friendly when I come in. I have never had a bad dish ( I've tried just about everything ), and the prices are great! Highly recommend and is my local go-to for really tasty Thai! read more

We order from Sortrel at least twice/month. Delivery used to be really fast but now it drags a bit so we usually pick up. We love Thai and although we've had better in the NoVa area, this is pretty good considering proximity to our home. Every once in awhile, their Pad Thai arrives pale and dry, but it's usually pretty good. We love the Rama Chicken, the Chili Basil chicken, and our son really likes the firecracker chicken. I do wish they had curry puffs. Update: They added curry puffs...Yay! Recently had the drunken noodles with chicken and loved it! read more

Super unimpressed with this restaurant. I ordered Pad Thai, spring rolls and Thai tea for delivery. It took over 1 1/2 hours and 2 calls to the restaurant before my food arrived, and I'm just up the street! Not only that, my food was cold and they forgot my tea. 2 hours from ordering and I'm still waiting for them to bring me my tea. After heating my food, it was only mediocre. I won't be ordering from here again. read more

Friendly, patient, helpful, and polite. The feel of the location itself is your typical fast-food joint. Get in. Get out. Seemed clean enough. Not very cozy as in a great place to hang out. Not sure how it is during peak hours but the parking lot might get a bit crowded. The street for sure is busy & can cause cars to back up into the parking lot. The food, while not as awesome as I remembered it 5 years ago in MD, is still tasty. Today's visit, the meat in gyros was a bit dry & the gyros & the side of fries I paid full price for were rather skimpy in serving, given that the gyros used to be served with fries included in the price of the gyro. Still, the fries & the gyros still taste good. Not as good a value as in days of old...even on $7 gyro Wednesdays (which used to be $5 gyro Wednesdays). The fried fish sandwich was a good deal in these horrible economic times because it comes with a good-sized filet and fries. Although, $2 extra for Greek fries that only had a tablespoon of garlic, dry herbs, and feta crumbles tossed on top rolling off the fries then pooling at the bottom of the container. The garlic, herbs, & feta are supposed to stick to piping hot fries steaming with the awesome garlicky oil. What I received was really underwhelming and didn't even come close to the Greek fries I remember. So, I'll preface this review conclusion with this: Big Greek Cafe was one of my absolute favorite local joints... the food made me drool just thinking about it. The food was always plentiful in servings, hot, fresh, aromatic, wonderfully delicious, and everything on the menu was such a good value, you'd end up buying a ton of food. Was this trip worth the drive? Glad the curiosity about whether this VA location equaled the MD experiences was satisfied. Probably no longer high on my list to go out of my way to drive 30 minutes to get what used to be my fav sandwich. It seems a little too fast-foodsy, mass-produced now than the original delectable hole-in-the-wall local joint. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely pick up something because it's still tasty...just not as fantastic as I remember.
