    Mild Korean chicken sandwich!
    Martha G.

Consistent hot fresh yummy sandwiches and wings! Mild , Regular and Spicy options. I got mild and shared with a toddler. Fries are crispy light and airy. They remind me of like truffle fries. The sandwiches have cabbage slaw and the chicken is sauced. I loved it! Order ahead if you can. They make orders fresh. Worth the wait! The bar Soul Chicken is in is a little lame but the chicken makes up for it if you want to eat in the establishment. Diet option is Diet Coke.

I gotta say this... SOUL Chicken is THAT spot!!! After living in Korea for years, I can honestly say this is hands down the most authentic Korean fried chicken I've had in forever. The food is next level crispy, flavorful, just perfection. On top of that, the owner is amazing you can tell he really cares about making sure every single customer is happy. That kind of energy is rare these days. The vibe inside? Completely unexpected. From the outside, you might not think much, but once you step in... mind blown. The ambiance is dope and makes you feel like you found a hidden gem. I can't wait to go back... honestly, I might pull up again tonight after writing this because it's just THAT good. If you love Korean fried chicken, trust me you don't want to miss this spot.

Came out Hot, Juicy n Tasty!

1989 the number, another summer! (Get down!) Sound of the funky drummer! Music hitting your heart 'cause I know you got SOUL!!! (Brothers and sisters, HEY!) Listen if you're missing y'all Swingin' while I'm singin'... About this little Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) place that's got me singin' that old school Public Enemy jam! Located at the end of a little old strip mall, which might be hard to get to, primarily because of road construction next to it. Keep in mind that parking can be a pain it it's busy. And I really hate to say this, but the road construction is just a complete turn-off. But once you get here and try their wings, you'll completely forget about all that. Let's get straight to the KFC of things and explain why I've got SOUL!!! 20pc Chicken Wing Family Combo ($38.95), which includes 2 flavors, 2 sides, and 2 drinks. We tried the Honey and Spicy Yang Nyeom, and maaaaan talk about Soul For Real! The honey flavor was a perfect crisp and sweetness, a perfect tenderness, a perfect everything! I feel they use olive oil to deep fry them, but don't quote me on that. Even the Yang Nyeom spiciness was fairly manageable and simply flawless. Next time, I'm gonna go for Hell's Gate to challenge myself and some naked wings to go along with it. As for staff and service, the two ladies that helped us were cordial and pleasant. We mainly dealt with Cheryl, who seemed to be running the place. She gave us sauce samples, made recommendations, took our order, and showed us where to refill our water glasses at the bar. The bar and dining area is part of Bliss Lounge, a karaoke bar that shares the stage while you chill here with a beer, wings, and a song. Someday, I'll share a rap y'all! But for now, if you haven't tried these wings, you're missin' out!

My friends and I love finding new bars to play darts in Honolulu, and Soul Chicken was such a great find! We got there at 4pm and didn't leave til 11... We met the owner, who also DJs at the bar, and he is so much fun. We ended up chatting with him late into the night. The servers are also incredible and make you feel like family. The fried chicken is great - crunchy and flavorful on the outside and juicy on the inside! Also love the toppoki, calamari rings and cheese curds - the ultimate bar food. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in Honolulu.

Very good! Located near HCC with parking lots on both sides of it, Soul Chicken is a solid chicken spot! I have only been outside for a pick up order but the outside looked clean and the service was efficient. The order was ready when it was meant to be. The chicken was very flavorful and the sauces definitely added a lot to the plate. The portion was also quite large and priced reasonably for what they gave. The bowls looked good and I will definitely be back.

Yes. Yes. Yes. My husband is an avid Korean Fried Chicken lover, so you know we have to hit them all. Soul chicken has been our favorite thus far!! You can order at the to-go window outside, but you can also eat inside at the bar area (Bliss karaoke). The menu is almost the same but it's worth sitting inside if you're with a group, or if you want to enjoy your food HOT 'n FRESH. We ordered just about every single flavor offered on the menu, and there wasn't a single bad one. We love the original (naked one) and the Hell's Gate (no refund, no lawsuit). It was not as spicy as I was expecting it to be, honestly, but it was still delicious! We also l loved all the sides! The corn salad tastes just like the ones you order in Korea, and the dduk with yangneom sauce was yummm. The fries were crispy and don't forget to order some pickled radish for that delicious, vinegary crunch. The service was super friendly and they did a great job of explaining things and answering questions to us first-timers. Parking is also easy since they're in an actual shopping plaza with their own lot. I know the construction around that area is a pain, but honestly it's worth venturing into this area if you want a solid meal of Korean Fried Chicken!! Can't wait to be back.

The fried chicken wings from here are so delicious. I had lunch here with Auntie Nadine. Our cashier, Cheryl, was nice enough to let us sit inside Bliss Lounge so that we'd be more comfortable in the A/C. We both opted for the six piece bone in combo. It came with one side and one drink. Nadine got her chicken with honey and chose the gimmari as her side. I got the chicken with shoyu and chose the mandoo as my side. I've never even heard of gimmari (deep fried glass noodles in seaweed) before this place. I really liked it, but Nadine preferred the mandoo. Both the honey and shoyu flavorings were delicious. Obviously, the honey chicken was on the sweeter side. If that's what you like go for the honey. Definitely five stars for the chicken, gimmari, mandoo and the service from Cheryl.

Lunch in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii... My friend, Angel H., is a chicken connoisseur. I thought that she would be a great foodie companion to go with me to Soul Chicken. We've passed by this vendor on Dillingham Boulevard many times because Costco is nearby. We heard that it was somehow connected with Bliss Lounge next door. We found out that the owner does own both businesses. We were invited to dine inside the lounge (instead of sitting outside with the wind, exhaust fumes, and traffic passing by). Great idea because of the air conditioning, convenient restroom, and comfy booth seating! Cheryl was our friendly, helpful cashier. She took our orders, told us where the entrance to Bliss Lounge was; turned the air conditioning on for us; told us where the best seat was for maximum AC; brought our meals to us; and was the perfect, cheerful, efficient host! Angel ordered the Shoyu Chicken Wings and Mandoo. I got the Honey Chicken Wings and Gimmari. We shared so that we could have a taste of each other's meals. I liked everything. I wouldn't be able to pick a favorite because each item was good in its own way. Both types of chicken wings were tasty and crunchy on the outside, and moist on the inside. Both sides (Mandoo and Gimmari) were delicious! We had a wonderful experience - mostly because of Cheryl! We look forward to returning! We really appreciated the free shared parking!

First time here. You can order online or by phone. However, I decided to visit in person. Soup Chicken is located inside the Bliss lounge. I came here on a Friday and checked out the menu. I ordered the boneless crispy chicken Yang Nyeom style, but when I got home I noticed it was just boneless fried chicken with no sauce. If I return here, I will need to ensure that the order is correct. $14 for plain fried chicken with no sauce is too pricey.

These days Korean fried chicken wings competition is pretty fierce. I read about Soul Chicken while back but never made it down mainly because it didn't seem like there was any sitting area. I was wrong. You can go to Bliss Karaoke/bar next door and order Soul Chicken there and eat them in nice AC room. I'm guessing that both of the establishments are owned by the same people. There were 2 tables right outside but one of the staff lady told us to go inside Bliss Karaoke. She was so nice. For now, my family highly approves Soul Chicken with great, juicy fried chicken wings made to order of course. They were impressed that inside the chicken was so juicy. We tried the honey, garlic and Yang Nyeom (slightly spicy for you spicy lovers out there.) We also ordered little fried seaweed wrap with long rice in them. Those were also good. It was like little spring rolls. They are on Dillingham so expect some traffic as there's major construction in this area. You can park in the same area as where Hana Tea used to be for free.

I was thinking of chicken for the day and I looked up the nearest place for a chicken and ended up here. But then I got confused at first cause I could not find the restaurant name Soul Chicken. I then found a sign on a door that said "Soul Chicken" at the "Bliss Karaoke Lounge." So I went in and yes it was there. Sure glad I was able to find it cause I ordered the spicy chicken combo with mandoo and french fries and it turned out to be a perfect meal. The spicy chicken was so moist and tasty and the french fries did not require any ketchup, they tasted so good on its own. And the mandoo was so crunch and moist inside with that sumptuous taste I can not forget, WOW! Moreover, I even got to sing a song with the karaoke mic. Finally, the service so courteous and attentive, excellent. This place is highly recommended.

The premium AYCE option is around $60 per person, which would be reasonable if the quality matched the price. Unfortunately, it doesn't. We're from the Bay Area and have been to countless Korean BBQ restaurants with significantly better meat quality for the same price or less. To make matters worse, even at the highest-priced AYCE tier, fountain drinks aren't included. What really left a bad impression was the automatic 20% gratuity. Our group consisted of two separate parties of three people each. We were seated together at one large table with two grills, but we had separate bills, ordered different AYCE meats option, didn't share food, and made that CLEAR before ordering. The menu states that automatic gratuity applies to parties of five or more, yet we were still charged because we happened to sit together. Had we known this was their policy, we would have chosen another restaurant or sat at different areas of the restaurant. The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because our servers were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions about the menu and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Unfortunately, when we brought the gratuity issue to the manager, he insisted we were one large party despite us being separate parties with separate orders and separate checks. At the end of the day, the only difference was that we happened to be sitting at the same table. Overall, the service from the staff was great, but the overpriced food, disappointing meat quality, and questionable gratuity policy make it hard for me to recommend this place.
