Wow! This is a must go place if you are here. I had things I usually would not try and I loved them. High quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Chef came to our table and talked with us. Service was spot on. We had cocktails and wine. Everything was amazing. The scallops were the table favorite. Not pictured though, they were gone too fast.

Absolutely exceptional dining experience!! Book well in advance since this adorable restaurant only seats about 25 people. Definitely consider the wine pairings. Yoel's description of each wine and the vineyards was so incredible and made the evening even better. Plan for about 3 hours and don't expect to leave hungry. An absolute MUST for foodies visiting Crested Butte!! 5 stars not nearly enough.

This is one of the fanciest meals I've ever had. They treat you like a Michelin star restaurant even though it doesn't have the rating. 4-5 course prefixe menu that everyone else in the restaurant is having with optional $$$$ wine pairing. Some people left early, so it seems you have the ability to skip dessert if desired. Because it was my birthday, we went all out and did the wine pairing plus a couple extra cocktails. It was a 4-hour experience of decadence. There are only 10-ish tables in the restaurant, so reservations are a must. For my birthday the staff kindly treated me to champagne and a birthday candle with my dessert. Literally the best short rib of my life. My boyfriend ordered it and gave it to me since I liked it more than my plate. Nothing served was bad, it was just that every course was a like a crazy championship contest of amazing vs amazing. The "loser" was still an amazing piece. The only watch out is the price. It was nearly $800 for both our meals, wine pairings, and extra few cocktails. For a very special occasion, very worth it!

What! Nestled in the middle of the frozen oasis that is Crested Butte is some seriously fine dining. Due to COVID enhancements, Chef Chris and team are offering prix fixe menu options. Given I've been primarily plant based for over a year, minus of course what delicious food I put in my mouth when going out, I chose every seafood option where my beau chose all red meat options. We were able to sample the entirety of the menu. The food was thoughtful, masterful, adventurous, and familiar (the duck foi gras is like no foi gras I've ever had -- it was nostalgic and new, and gave me Thanksgiving vibes.) The Somme Dan and his inventive approach to wine pairing is an absolute must -- you find you get an additional meal with the pairing's ability to enhance and change the dish. At the end of the night we stumbled into the snow, a little breathless -- but not from the cold. From re entering the world where we had just walked and breathed among magic. (Go go go!)

    Cool place! Hot chick!

They specialize in live fire cooking and we were lucky enough to get a booth right across from the action as you will see in the pics. They use a mix of red and white oak to control the heat along with a series of movable grill plates. We started with a delicious Strawberry Salad that also had watermelon radish and delicate greens lightly tossed in a vinaigrette. Coming from Arizona, I had to try the Pozole and thrilled I did. The rich red broth gave light to the chili heart of this very complex liquid. The pozole had great texture and the shredded pork was tender and outstanding. An excellent example of this favorite dish. The most amazing entree was the main course. It was a shareable Half Elk Rack. While I like medium rare, when it was brought to the table, I thought it might be too rare. As soon as I tasted it, I realized it was perfection. It was so tender and the chew was great, especially on the end pieces that had an incredible bark on the outside. Elk is an extremely lean dish so to add some unctuous notes, they take Fois Gras, and as the fat renders, add huckleberries before putting it in a blender to create a heavenly base. We couldn't resist dragging every bite across the serving plate to savor the magic. As a side dish, we ordered the squash which was also perfectly roasted over the live fire and complimented the dish.

I liked how it actually had N/A liquor in it. My husband got the SECRET GARDEN - loved the lavender earl gray. For a starter, we split the BAHN MI QUAIL - super inventive, never had quail before. Kind of hard to eat around the small bones but loved the stuffed flavors! For dinner, we shared two dishes: ELK SAUSAGE & PEPPERS PASTA and PORK CHOP. The pasta was very so-so, nothing that blew me away. However, the pork chop was super tasty - loved the sauce. For dessert, we shared limoncello sorbet - perfect amount of refreshing and loved the fun strawberry powder! Our server was super nice and attentive. Really nice experience overall!

The patio was gorgeous, and the food was my favorite meal I had while visiting Crested Butte! I was amazed at how quickly we were helped, especially considering them being short staffed on top of them hosting a wedding party. I mostly wanted to leave a review because our server (I believe his name was Daniel) was incredible. As somebody who works in food service, it can feel like a lot of pressure to tend to each guest, but he was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our entire meal! I asked him for a recommendation between 2 brews I was deciding on, and even after I said I trusted his judgment, he STILL brought me both options for me to try, so that I could decide for myself. He recommended we also add the cheese fondue for the pretzel we got as an appetizer, and I would trust the man with my life... lol. I experienced firsthand how wonderful of a server he was, and was absolutely appalled by the treatment he received from the guests at the table next to us. I understand things happen and communication can be difficult when there's so much going on, but they were giving the server a hard time when they received a drink they supposedly hadn't ordered. The server was able to get it removed from their bill, and it seemed like it had been handled politely and quickly. Not long after I saw their food arrive, I watched one of the guests complain about something... Daniel immediately took it back to the kitchen to fix it, but as he walked away I noticed the group of men laughing at him. While Daniel remained patient, and did everything he could to satisfy them, it was incredibly disheartening to see somebody so kind, who'd been working incredibly hard, be treated the way he was. It seemed to me as though they were finding humor in making him run around. While I like to assume best intent, watching them laugh as he addressed their concerns and rushed to fix them made me feel as though they'd done so on purpose. Daniel took it like a champ, and still continued to check in with us throughout the meal. I hope Bruhaus knows how grateful myself and so many others are, to be served by such kind people! THANK YOU

The quality of ingredients and preparation were all spot on. Bacon was triple crispy as I requested. Hash browns were made with butter, as I insisted. Eggs were cooked perfectly, neither rubbery nor slimy. Magnificent was the French toast. Served as something resembling a German log roll, it was crispy on the outside, tasty throughout, and yet remained free from being bread-y. I savored every bite of this, a real highlight. You can substitute this for the muffin for a $2 fee or thereabouts. Do that, and you won't be disappointed. Two areas that could be improved: the pancake syrup, and while it tasted fine, was definitely corn syrup based and low quality. I humbly think that the owner could easily charge $1.75 more and offer the real thing. Further, the orange juice wasn't great, acceptable, but far from a real fresh squeezed caliber. The hostess forced me to sit at the bar when tables were open. Fortunately for me, a spectacularly responsive and friendly other server rescued me, provided me a table and provided the utmost in service for a breakfast styled establishment of this ilk. She was also food knowledgeable as her husband and her own one of the truly great restaurants in town, further down the street on Elk Avenue. Pricing was just right. Location is fantastic as well. The gazpacho was top notch, fresh and had bright color and flavor. My wife's filet was cooked perfectly with great texture on outside and tender on the inside. I ordered the Colorado lamb sirloin. It was hard to cut through...was it the slightly tough texture or the non-serrated knife (asked for serrated, restaurant did not have)? I think a little of both. I ordered the chimichurrie to go with the lamb. It came in a cute white ceramic vessel shaped a little like an hourglass with an narrow waist and flared bottom and top. At the top, you could see bright green liquid oil without any of the obvious other chunky ingredients of chimichurri. Ahh, you might think that the next step would be to stir it with a small spoon (often paired with the traditional small ramekin of chimichurri)... alas, no small utensils, just our dinnerware. Not only that, but I generously thought that this fine establishment fully intended to present this as their new twist on chimichurri. Not wanting to complain, I sheepishly drizzled the green oil onto my lamb and made the best of it. Only on my last bites of lamb did I discover belatedly that the dressing had separated and discovered the bright greens and garlic layered densely at the bottom. Two take home messages.
