This place is way to close my house and super convenient. It was my first time trying this location and the restaurant in general. The space is super clean- like immaculate. The counters, containers, tables- everything was spotless. I got there right after they opened and was greeted by two people while others were getting set up for the day. I ordered a cup of tomato soup and a Caprese sandwich. The soup is cream based and comes with a side of bread for dipping. The Caprese was so fresh. The girl taking my order suggested putting their house dressing on it. I ended up getting a side of it to try and wish I would've taken her suggestion. Delicious on the Caprese. I live next to the newest Sourdough & Co. in Concord and decided to place a pickup order today. I ordered the salami and turkey wrap and received what looked like one lonely slice of salami, barely any turkey, it literally looked like scraps were thrown together. I also asked for two different cheeses and I don't even think I got that. What makes this even more disappointing is that I'm a regular at the Walnut Creek location, and I know this is not the standard. Stopped by here as I was in the area for business, had a sore throat starting up and wanted some tomato soup. Unfortunately they didn't have it but was available the next day. Opted for the clam chowder instead and it didn't disappoint. Not too thick, not too thin, so just about right. The sourdough bread it came with was soft and firm. Always a quick inconvenient sandwich place, next to Safeway. I like how the house spread is very tasty. Lately, I haven't been here so much because they discontinued the free croutons for customers. My initial impression was not very good. The establishment did not have a very welcoming vibe. For a relatively new shop, I would think that they would be greeting folks as they entered - Nope. I walked into silence even though I met eyes with one young man behind the deli counter. The young lady behind the register was monotone and I didn't get the sense that she was too enthused to be there. One word replies on her end for the most part. My order was also somewhat underwhelming as I question how small a cup of chowder is in comparison to the "bowl" I purchased (see picture). While the food tastes fine, the quantity for the price is somewhat questionable- Over $21 for a 4" inch sandwich and a "bowl" of soup. I like to try and support new local businesses but I highly doubt I'll be returning here. read more

Truly the worst vegetarian sandwich (plus so ridiculously expensive) I have ever had! I spent a few additional dollars on my sandwich than my husband who had the pastrami sandwich! Hello when did veggies become more expensive than meat? I got a measly piece of cheese and a single slice of avocado, iceberg lettuce and tomato and sourdough bread for sandwich cost around $14... apparently I would have had to pay more to get the carrots, peppers and cucumbers which is strange because they include those ingredients on the vegetarian sandwich list. Feeling very ripped off! Why the heck I just didn't go to the store and buy my own ingredients I would have saved a bundle. WILL NEVER COME BACK. I was looking forward to trying this sandwich shop after hearing about the one in Walnut Creek. It was the first week they opened so it could have been a training issue. I was there with my 93 year old Father no one else in the shop. Ordered two sandwiches and waited 45 minutes. I couldn't say the sandwich was worth the wait because there was nothing special about their small and expensive sandwiches. I hope they improve their service. read more

What a great place, very welcome in this area. Food is first rate; the meat, cheese, condiments and bread are all incredibly fresh and very tasty. I was in there last week for the first time, maybe Saturday, and the staff immediately made me feel welcome, like they already knew me. As good as any place is, however wonderful the food might be, they need customer facing staff that are top notch. These people certainly were. Great customer service and really good food. The bread was fresh and the staff took the time explaining what comes in each of the suggested sandwiches. Good seating and pretty good music playing. Not too obnoxious, with the exception of the guy sitting behind me singing along like we were at a sing along.
