We had wanted to try this plane for a while and did not realize there were other locations. Ordered the pastrami and a chicken pesto sandwich. The pesto sandwich was not what we expected but was very good and so was the pastrami. The bread is definitely the star of the show here. Good service and nice ambiance will be coming back and try the flat bread and soups.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I love sandwiches, and I love sourdough, so yeah, haha. Can I just start by saying the bread was so refreshingly fresh if that is even a thing? Haha. That bread made me so happy with every bite for real for real. The bread makes the sandwich, and this places bread had me wanting to buy a loaf to take home, and I would have if I wasn't counting my calories. Speaking of calories, I love how they have them on the menu board right next to every item so people like me can keep track. The clam chowder was good and satisfying. Now, I don't think there was a clam in my clam chowder, but the flavor was there, and I enjoyed it. I understand you can't make sure every cup of soup actually gets clams in it. The sandwich combo came with a slice of pickle, which I love, and a choice of a bottle of water or fountain drinks or tea. I loved the ambiance inside. It makes me feel like I'm on the wharf in San Fransico. It wasn't too busy at the time, so they had a pickup section and sign, but they brought my food to my table, which was very nice. I don't know if that's standard procedure or not, but it was appreciated. The worker also came back with a small stack of napkins for me, which was noticed and very kind. The cashier was very friendly as well and just all around good friendly service. My only grippe is with the price. $21 for a 6-inch sandwich with a small cup of soup and drink is a little on the high side in my personal opinion. With that said, prices are increasing everywhere, and I think we will eventually get used to it, and it will become normal. I'm just not used to it yet. I do understand the business has to make money. So it's possible I'm wrong in this opinion of mine, maybe, just maybe, haha. At the end of the day, I was satisfied with the food and the experience. Every bite of my sandwich and soup was enjoyable. Everything about the sandwich was on point and well portioned out. Good amount of meat for that thickness of bread. The right amount of tomatoes and lettuce. It's just very well portioned out. I can't wait to bring family and friends here and try the flat breads and other sandwiches and cookies they have at the register. I saw you cookies, yes you looked delicious. But I already reached my calories for the day. I'll definitely be getting you next time, haha Pro tip: download the app before going so you can earn points towards discounts and free food, etc.

My second time here. I'm a sandwich guy so this place interested me. This time I went with the chicken BBQ flatbread. This was pretty tasty but messy. I want to try the Italian one next time.

I ate at one in a different city and liked what I had ordered. This one opened up near my home so my son and I came to try it. I ordered the BBQ Chicken flatbread and potato soup. My son ordered an 8" garlic pesto turkey and a side of Mac & cheese. The food was prepared as ordered amd was very good. I personally loved the potato soup but thought the Mac & cheese was meh. The flatbread and sandwich had no complaints from either of us. It was fresh, tasted great and had nice presentation. Staff were exceptionally friendly and the place was clean. It is a little on the pricey side but I thought it was worth it.

I picked up lunch here the other day! I was excited to see they finally opened . I was there around 11:20am. When I entered the business there was no line. Yay! And all the employees said welcome to Sourdough & Company. That was nice. So I paced a order for a 6 inch chicken sandwich and a French dip to-go. French dip was also a 6 inch. Sandwich's came with a pickle. Price came out to $25.33 for the 2 sandwiches. Pretty pricey . I started noticing a lot of people coming in as it was getting close to lunchtime. I really liked my French dip . The sourdough bread was fresh and delicious. I also loved the Au Jus. Super flavorful! My daughter thought her chicken salad sandwich was just ok . She didn't like that they put cranberry sauce in it . She also didn't like the grapes in sandwich. She said next time she would want to try a different sandwich. I really wish they had a point system or a email club. Sandwich's are expensive so I'd love it if we could earn points towards a free sandwich. I look forward to trying different sandwiches out & the soups. This is a great spot for lunch!!

##9. Cracked Pepper Turkey Sandwich $19.26 for the meal, inflation is at a new level.

Amazing salads. Easy place to grab a French dip sandwich that you usually have to go to a sit down restaurant for.

Hot pastrami & turkey sandwich was AMAZING! Not very crowded on a Thursday night but they were fast. Will definitely be coming back.

Staff was super friendly, went out of their way to make sure the tables were tidy, and refilled drinks really quick. The restaurant is smaller than you expect it to be, but it is cozy, friendly, and not overly loud. We only had a 10 minute wait when we arrived and they were packed. Our waiter Kyle was on point, introduced himself and dropped the special of the day with gusto. If I hadn't already had a ton of carbs for the day I would have gone with it. Ended up ordering the scallops, and fried zucchini appetizers. Scallops are served almost like a soup. The sauce in the bowl was to die for. I'm thinking white wine, and lemon were the major components. It was phenomenal. Fried zucchini was super tasty and is coming home with us. I'd swear it was enough to feed 4 people. For mains, we ordered pot roast and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Wife loved the pasta and chicken. Surprisingly enough she ate it all, none to go which is super rare for her. Pot roast was fantastic. Mashed potatoes were on point, the mixed vegetables were amazing. When you get broccoli and carrots on the same plate and neither have a mushy texture it makes me happy Will definitely be back again in the future.

You can hear the music they are playing. Our server, Kyle, came out to let us know the special. He put our appetizers in before even thinking about our food. They were spaced out just right. He was also Johnny on the spot with refills and kept checking on us. Ok now onto the food. It was delicious! Hubby had scallops as an appetizer and pot roast for his main dish. I had fried zucchini and then fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I like my chicken on the side so I only add what I want. This place is just down from the freeway exit and is only open for lunch & dinner. If you are passing through Modesto, get off and come eat some good food. It is totally worth it!

Unfortunately on two different orders, I've found a piece of hair in my food. The last order has done it for me and this establishment. They offer a large variety of proteins and toppings in their poke bowls as well as hot appetizers like gyoza, rangoons, egg rolls, and tempura. I typically order a Large Bowl with five toppings to split with my mom. We get the creamy shrimp, spicy scallops, octopus, and double salmon. The bowls are absolutely huge. I'd say the bowls are about three inches deep, and it's not just rice filling them! They are very generous with their toppings and don't shy away from loading them up with the seaweed salad and imitation crab too. They offer a bunch of sauces and mayo dressings that add a bunch of flavor. I also really enjoy their Kani Salad! It is a large portion that packs a lot of flavor. I always order ahead and the mean is finished before I arrive! I would say though that they are not the most consistent. Sometimes the octopus pieces are super hard and it grosses me out. One time they put ahi tuna in my bowl instead of the salmon. A few times they didn't include the sauce topping on my bowls. The interior of the restaurant is not the cleanest. There were some areas, especially around the drink fountain that look like the haven't been deep cleaned for a while. Regardless, none of these are major issues that would turn me away from eating there again.

Tasty or WasteY??? Tasty!!!…read moreI don't know why we never tried this place before a couple months ago. Probably because of the name. We tried it once and now we're hooked. This time we tried the steak nachos. What a tasty surprise! The best nachos I've had in years! I would highly recommend this place. And, not only is the food good, but the patio dining is relaxing. The waitress that works on Sundays is so attentive. She never lets our drink get less than halfway empty before she's bringing us a refill. The prices are great for the huge portions of food.

Horrible service experience…read more When we arrived, the restaurant was only about 30% full and there appeared to be four waitresses on duty. After seating ourselves as instructed, we waited nearly 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us or came to our table. We ordered two drinks and an appetizer (cheese curds) and requested a beer flight. It then took another several minutes to receive a flight card, and additional time before another waitress finally came over to enter the order. By this point, we had already been waiting approximately 25 minutes. Nearly 30 minutes after being seated, I finally received my flight. The cheese curds never arrived. Shortly afterward, our entrées were delivered. To be fair, the food itself was good. The larger issue was the complete lack of attentiveness from the wait staff. During the time we were waiting, employees appeared more focused on talking amongst themselves and cleaning tables than monitoring customers. At one point, a waitress cleaned the table directly next to us and never acknowledged our presence. Customers should at least be greeted, acknowledged, and offered water shortly after being seated. Instead, we sat for nearly 15 minutes without any interaction whatsoever. If a self-seating system is being used, management needs to ensure staff are actively watching for incoming guests and providing prompt service. To make matters worse, when the bill arrived, we were still charged for the cheese curds that never came to the table. We had already asked two different waitresses about the missing appetizer. The charge was eventually addressed, but it should never have appeared on the bill in the first place. We visited on Sunday, June 14, at approximately 2:45 PM. Our food arrived roughly 75 minutes after we first sat down. We left a $0 tip, which is extremely unusual for us. We normally tip 20-30% for good service, but the service on this visit did not warrant any gratuity. Management should review what occurred during this shift, including staff performance and table coverage procedures. Based on our experience, there were clear failures in customer service, communication, and basic attentiveness. Unless we receive an apology from management and some indication that these issues are being addressed, we do not plan to return. Potential customers should be prepared for slow and highly inconsistent service.
