WORST SOUTH BLOCK EVER. Rude and incompetent. They can not follow simple instructions and its not good at all. Literally go anywhere else.

South Block on Grace Street is ideal for breakfast on the go. Their smoothies and acai bowls are filled with fruit that fuels you, and they have a ton of options to customize your order. They also have rose and mint water for purchase, which sounds ridiculous at first but damn are they good. It's a very millennial friendly place, catering to a younger crowd, but it's Georgetown-- if you're not catering to college kids, you're reeling in rich old white ladies. So you have to settle for one or the other. That being said, I do have one complaint, if you can call it that. They call out the name that's on the cars you use to pay for your purchase. For most people, yes, that's fine. However, I know a lot of people find that a little uncomfortable for various reasons. In my case, I'm trans, and my birth name is on my card, which is VERY uncomfortable to be heard shouted at me in public, and then that walk of shame from where I stand waiting to go and get my breakfast is even worse and leaves me with a bad taste in mouth. Eh, sometimes you have to take your wins where you can, but I'd like to see South Block implement a way to fix this :) read more

The acai bowls are delicious and I use to come here all the time. I'm glad to see some improvements. However, there are still a lot of inconsistencies here. My last visit I asked for no fruit on top( the sugar content in these are very high). I understand the bowl would look less but I couldn't believe how little I was given. read more

I ate there almost five days a week for one month and lost ten pounds! I cannot express how much I love this place. They have a great rewards system that gives you a discount the more you spend. I'm obsessed. This is hands down my favorite establishment in all of DC. The açaí bowls are beyond delicious, they are magical. I've raved about it so much that my friends thought that I might be overhyping it, until they've tried as well. They agree, it's absurdly good. This place is a must try. I like this location, and it has been my go to spot for Acaii bowls, however after today, I'm peeved by this place. The bowls are still bomb, but when I visited today, the person who was taking my order was just rude. On top of that, she was putting curling rods in her hair in the same area where the bowls were being made. I was taken aback considering the sanitation concerns food places are held up to. I absolutely love this place! Their acai bowls are to die for and their juice is so tasty. There are only two donwfalls, 1) if you come in after a wave of people getting out of soul cycle, you're screwed. The line can get unbelievably long. 2) they don't take cash! Had pretty high expectations for my bowl, considering the price and past experiences with other South Block locations. Although my bowl's açai base was completely melted leaving a soggy effect on the other ingredients, my bites were distasteful and left me unsatisfied. Usually just walk by here and go to Sundevich but my friends today said they wanted acai bowls, so today I had my first acai bowl. All my friends went for the warrior bowl. Tried my friends bowl and the Warrior was too sweet for my liking so I'm glad I went for the PBJ. Just the right amount of peanut butter in the blend and it was a nice consistency. The staff here was so sweet! And helpful with my friends accommodation to her bowl! Our wait time here was surprisingly shorter than expected considering the crowd. We only had to wait about 5-7 minutes for our bowls. Had a great experience for my first time at South Block. I will definitely Be back for more! read more

This is my daily go-to. No shame, I eat multiple meals here per day. They have everything that the basic b*tch in me needs: variations of avocado toast, cold-pressed juices, protein shakes, chia seed pudding, etc. It is incredible. My favorites are their regular avocado toast, strawberry toast, peanut blast shake with spinach, and banana chia pudding. The interior decor is adorable and it makes for a great place to catch up with friends or grab a quick bite after a workout class (SoulCycle is right next door). FYI, Georgetown students can use their GoCard here. The wait time is a little bit long at times, especially during peak times in the morning, but the wait is worth it! read more

Meh! If you're looking for authentic açaí, this NOT the place for you. Although portions are quite large, and stuffed with toppings, the actual açaí is sugary and not as thick. Also, the taste wasn't very strong at all. In fact it doesn't really taste like anything. Service: The was a long line but service was exceptionally quick. Last Sunday We were in Georgetown shopping, we were hungry so We ventured off to see what healthy options we could find. I asked the cashier what she recommended for the first time. She recommended the pbj and the warrior. I got the caveman bowl however and It did not disappoint. My friend tried the warrior. There is self served chia seeds and and honey! The bowls Were refreshing, sweet and delicious. There was nothing not to like about this experience. The staff was great they were informative, nice, and accommodating. The green smoothie gives me life and makes me forget about all the terrible food choices I've recently made. I absolutely love this place. Any acai bowl you get here will be amazing: the ingredients are fresh, delicious, and refreshing. I particularly liked the California and Dragon bowls, those are great. The dried fruit bars are also healthy and fresh! So happy to have gluten free options, as that limits a lot of places I can eat. The staff is also very nice, esp. I usually visit the South Block in Clarendon, but tried out this location after a yoga class in Georgetown. I was really disappointed by the quality of the smoothie here. It was basically just flavorless crushed ice. In addition the same smoothie was more expensive at this location. I would have tried to get it remade but the place was packed so it didn't seem worth waiting back in line. Would recommend heading over to the Clarendon location if you're in the mood for a smoothie. read more

Although it is a little pricey (what do you expect it's Georgetown lol) this place is amazing!! I love their smoothies because they do not tastes like an artificial sugar bomb, the smoothie is really fresh! I normally get the super green, but everything I have had on their menu is great.
