Just as they promised, they came in the morning of the first day and completed the repipe with water running by the end of the day. The masking off of unaffected areas and end-of-day clean-up was very well done. That was on Good Friday, so we had to wait until Monday for the drywall repair. We were expecting a lot of holes, and there were, but the drywall crew arrived first thing in the morning, and had everything patched up and textured by late afternoon. Again, the crew took excellent care to mask off areas and do a thorough clean-up at the end of the day. The patchwork was really well done, and the texturing was even complemented by our painting contractor (who is extremely demanding) regarding the quality of their work. There was even stucco work needed for one area, and the stucco texturing was a perfect match. This was by no means an inexpensive project to "have to" do, but SCR was very competitive, and the quality of the finished project, as well as the anticipated inconvenience, was better than expected. Casey and South County Restoration was referred to me by a personal friend who has worked with this company in the past. Casey came out and looked at the water damage to my master bathroom, master bedroom, closet and garage down below that was damaged. I followed up by sending the insurance companies estimate, and was trying to get a quote from this company as my hired contractor. Erika and Kelly Caprine in the office, kept putting me off for 2 weeks and would not return my calls. So after they promised a call back yesterday, and I did not receive a call, I called back today. They informed me today that they were 4 months out before they could get to me. They knew I was on a insurance timeline. They clearly do not want to work with us and our job, but to string someone along for weeks on end and then tell me that they are 4 months out? Why even come out and see the job Casey? Why would you ask me to forward the re-inspection report 2 weeks after you were out on site? Having honesty and integrity is very important to my wife and I, and we have lived in San Clemente, CA for 28 years. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Talk about the worst customer service. Plenty of people will hear about how poor you treated us. You advertise you work with insurance companies, but clearly your follow up skills and being straight forward with people do not go inline with all of your reviews. We chose them over other companies in the area because they do the re-pipe and all the drywall repair. This enabled us to have all the work done in less than a week. South County Restoration just completed a re-pipe for a 4-unit building in San Clemente which included asbestos remediation and drywall/stucco repair. They were prompt with their quote and competitive in pricing. Communication with the office was smooth and I was always updated on any changes. Work crews showed up when they said they would and the project was finished on time as promised. I had confidence in the on-site team and supervisors. They worked hard to minimize disturbance time to the tenants. I I try to work with local vendors whenever possible and was happy they are San Clemente based. It was important to me that one vendor handle all the asbestos and drywall repair so I didn't have to figure that out separately. Nice people, but the process was pretty bumpy. If you have a leak, CALL A PLUMBER FIRST! We had the misconception that restoration companies have plumbers on staff - they do not! That was our mistake. This process lasted a long time and it seemed like it shouldn't have. There was an initial delay waiting for approval from AAA which wasn't their fault. It seems like South County could have sent out a team of 3-4 people to remove drywall, tile shower, etc. They only sent one employee out for most of the two weeks with the exception of 2 days when one or two guys came out to help with tile/floor removal. We also had unnecessary additional water damage on day 5 as water was turned off, but not drained from the lines before Sal left so I stepped into a puddle of water at 4 a.m. The drywall repair guy also said that a lot of drywall was removed and that it looked like it was cut with a butter knife. My recommendation would be to send in a big team at the very beginning to do demo and install fans so the homeowners can have their house back until fan removal - just not much going on in between. read more

We recently had a toilet overflow upstairs that leaked through the ceiling and into a downstairs bedroom. We immediately called South County Restoration and Casey was out within an hour. We were already stressed since we were having guest coming into town for a wedding in a week (and the rehearsal dinner at our house) and Casey lined up clean-up for the next day. When the wet ceiling came down, pin hole leaks were present in our copper pipes. We had a pretty major pin hole leak in our house and after many companies coming out and trying to rip us off, I just so happened to come across South County Restoration. Casey is the owner... it's a small Family business and he's a family man. That immediately was big brownie points for me. He came out (IMMEDIATELY, like within the hour on a Saturday morning, after two major rain storms hit, so to say he was busy was an understatement) and assessed the situation and ended up giving us a quote for a price much lower than any of the other companies that came out. We returned home one evening to find our first floor flooded secondary to a burst copper pipe in our kitchen. Even as we were beginning to clean up, we knew we had to re-pipe before disaster strikes again. I remembered seeing the impressive ads from South County Restoration touting their one day re-pipe. Gave a call, and Casey came out promptly and expeditiously scheduled the re-pipe with PEX. Even though this house is relatively large (4.5 baths), the re-pipe was indeed completed in one day -- 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The drywall was expertly repaired 2 days later -- pausing a day between to observe for any possible leaks. Casey's team, led by his foreman Adam, was at all times most professional, skillful, careful, and courteous. In addition to now feeling protected from recurrent leakages, we have noticed improved flow -- manifested by being able to obtain hot water faster from our upstairs faucets.
