The technician came out and inspected the furnace (I had a leaked at the condensate collection pan). He called, and told me there is no gasket parts until 2 months (but there is the whole pan assembly). Also told me that the blower assembly is wobbly and leaking oil (which is not true). At the end, I was told it is a total of $3800 to replace the whole condensate collection pan and the blower assembly, also included is $404 for a capacitor (I found the part for $30, which is just 5 minutes to replace). I understand they need to make a living, but this is just simply greed. This is the same across the whole industry in Seattle for the larger companies: Fox plumbing, etc. read more

We needed a garbage disposal replaced nothing was wrong just needed new disposal installed that we already had purchased as current one was to heavy for new sink. My wife called and when south west plumbers came out they quoted her just under 2,000.00 to remove and replace a garbage disposal. What a joke south west plumbing is. We ended up calling our son and he removed and replaced new one in less that a half hour. So if you want to get completely ripped off then call just call south west plumbing. By the way just for reference two other plumbing companies quoted right around 300.00 for the exact same thing. I used Southwest Plumbing twice once to clear a kitchen drain, they did a great job and price was reasonable. Next, I used them to install the proper attachments to water line for my refrigerator, again great job and price was fair. My outside water facet began to drip the facet is next to access door so real easy to get to. The guy came out and gave me a price of $800 I looked at him and asked him if he was kidding, he replied no. A contractor who is doing additional work replaced it for $248.00. It is a shame I thought I had found a good plumbing business but I was wrong, I don't plan on using them again. read more

Would give negative stars if I could. Just like the other reviews here, this company does not communicate or project manage with the client what next steps will be. I checked my phone log and called them close to 30 times in a four-day-period. Flat out told wrong information about showing up between 9-11am. I called several times and finally they acted like they were doing me a favor and got someone out at 4pm. All along the way, I had to fight and advocate to get the next crew out there. The project would not have been completed had I not been calling so much. They technically did the physical labor and it turned out ok, but it is a huge waste of expense and time, and they flat out did not take the feedback as a way to improve their company. Strongly wish I had gone with a different company. I have given multiple people feedback on this experience and there is not curiosity or a rectifying that my time is important. Do not use this company, there will be frustration and getting different answers to the same question every time you call. Save yourself from this experience and go with a different company. Max came out to fix a clogged drain, and instead of making it complicated, he identified that the fix was super simple as it only required opening but the drain clog and didn't charge me a thing. We called south west for water leakage in kitchen sink, they are on time. They called me over the phone and verbally quoted the price around $190 for garbase dispoal replacement. I said okay to proceed as price makes sense. But they charged more than $1900. I have thought garabase disposal will cost this much. If you goto a coffee shop, you expect the regular coffee to be priced between 3 dollars or max of 10 dollars. After buying, if you were charged $100, then how do you react. I am in the same situation. Other few things happened: Their manager did not provide any receipt for such a huge bill. Even after spending about 1 hour on the time to get the receipt. The same leakage happened again. Since it may come under warranty, called the southwest again. This time they informed us it is a different issue and we need to pay $650.00 again. BTW, they were recording all the conversations illegally without giving acknowledgement that we are on a recorded line at least until April 2023. They did not fix the issue, they charged thousands of dollars, they did not provide any reciept (even as of today), and they want to charge again for their mistakes. read more

I would definitely recommend Southwest Plumbing; I called on a Friday at almost 5 PM and we were able to have a technician out the next day, even though it wasn't an emergency. The person who answered the phone was very pleasant, as well. Gerardo Ramos come out to diagnose our kitchen sink, which had low water pressure, and look into an outdoor faucet that was leaking. Unfortunately both of them turned out to be bigger issues than we originally realized, but he took a LOT of time to try to figure out what was going on and was very thorough, and seemed very knowledgeable. At the end told us that it was blocked up, which we already knew, all for them to charge us $1200.00. I don't recommend using South West Plumbing. I called and scheduled service and was told I would be informed on the day of when the technician would arrive. On the day of, I received no call and had to call twice in the afternoon to be told no one would be coming. No one could let me know when someone would arrive other than going through the same process of waiting around again. This is terrible customer service. Updating my review to an average of the service I received scheduling the appointment and the service I received when folks actually showed up. The drain specialist (Joshua Gibson) was great. He came out assessed it was beyond his scope, and quickly reached out to get more eyes. A manager and project manager came out, and all three of them helped us through explaining what the issues could be. We were able to get a plumber(Kirk Thompson) out later that evening to do an initial assessment and mitigate our hot water issue. Kirk returned later to do the pipe and water heater work. Fantastic five star service. Kirk was professional, prompt, and knowledgeable. Kirk walked us through what the plan was, and then debriefed us on all the work once it was completed. If it weren't for my initial experience trying to get someone out, then South West Plumbing would be easy to recommend. The initial impression is hard to shake off so I hope this part improves. read more

SW Plumbing's work is very good. The plumber and apprentice (Kevin and Preston) were efficient, leaving my bathroom space in excellent condition. It took less than an hour to do a straightforward repair in my toilet tank. They replaced a "budget fluidimaster water measuring device." SW does block pricing, with no itemization. After applying a $50 coupon and senior discount of $20.45, my final bill was $373.63. Still, I felt overcharged, especially without the benefit of itemization of my bill. I spoke to Andrew, a supervisor, requesting itemization. He explained about their hefty overhead, the number of staff they need to meet their guarantee of same-day service, etc. as the reason their charges may be more than a smaller company. We called South West Plumbing when we suddenly were facing a major sewer break, with sewage coming up from the basement drain. It was a big job and like plenty of their customers, we were taken by surprise (though we should have anticipated it with our 100-year house). Dom came out immediately, provided a detailed proposal and then footage from underground cameras, and took time to walk us through it. We felt we were in good hands from the start as we got used to this major expense. I want to give special recognition to the guys who dug down to the sewer, cleaned up the disgusting mess in our basement, installed a new drain, new stack, and new toilet. My elderly sister with dementia called Southwest Plumbing for a small leak in a toilet. The plumber, Troy Hamilton met her and said she needed a new toilet and water heater. He said the toilet was discontinued and could not get parts and the water heater was 24 years old and wasn't installed correctly. Her elderly son called me to tell me a plumber was there so I talked with him and explained her condition and that I had a power of attorney for her financial matters. I told him to send me the proposal and not to proceed until I reviewed and let him know how to proceed. A couple of hours later her son called again and said he was doing the work. I talked to him again and he said he was sorry I hadn't received the proposal but my sister gave him the go ahead. The invoice was just slightly under $6000.00. New toilet for $1663.63, tank for $3182.95, expansion tank for $536.98 and tank straps for $313.70. Tax and slight senior discount and there you have it. As anyone knows the parts total would be $1100 to $1300 on the high side and about 2 hours labor and it could be done by any handyman. I would have surely done it if they hadn't taken advantage of an elderly person with a disability. Talked to Zane the Service Manager and he said this was all based on their price list and he got the approval from the owner. That is their business model. Total scam and predatory pricing especially taking advantage of the situation. Not an honest company. Get more bids or better yet get a local handyman to do this at a reasonable price. And, make sure the work actually needs to be done. read more

We were having issues with a backed up toilet and called on a Saturday.. Chris Miller and Chris Ball showed up and discovered the issue was the pump in the septic system that pumps clean water. This organization is a fraudulent disgrace and should be investigated by consumer rights groups. My 89 year old mother had a leaky bathroom faucet. The Southwest plumber came with an associate. He left to find a part, came back and said he couldn't get the part. He removed a part from the second sink in the bathroom and installed it to the replace the leaky part. The repair took approximately 15 minutes. They charged her $1300 for a 15 minute repair job. I attempted to get a refund, but they have been uncooperative and unresponsive. The idea that they would take advantage of an 89 year old woman is utterly disgraceful. I strongly urge any of you thinking about hiring them to stay as far away as you possibly can. Businesses like this should be shut down and criminally prosecuted, and I will do everything in my power to pursue this with consumer advocates, the Better Business Bureau, television watchdogs, and any and all organizations that can put a stop to these crooks. read more

Since the company merged with AAA heating and air it has been a disaster. I have been a longtime customer of AAA heating and air and they were great and provided great service. However, since they merged with southwest it is the absolute worst experience I have ever had. Three separate appointments were cancelled by them for my annual service on my furnace. Cancellations were always last minute after me taking the time to wait for someone to show up. I asked that their service manager contact me to help me understand what was going on with the lack of service and never received a call from anyone. They have lost my business for good since I do not appreciate being billed each month for service that is never provided by them. I would never recommend them under any circumstance. read more

This past week we had a plumbing emergency that turned out to be bigger than we initially thought, and we quickly became overwhelmed with the potential disaster. Our home is old, with the expected cast iron pipes, knob & tube wiring, etc. It needs a lot of work there's a long list of improvements on our years long plan to be tackle. When the cast iron main return from one of the bathrooms became clogged, we did everything we could to fix it and then called plumbers. It turned out the pipe was nearly rusted through, wasted built up and blocking everything. A previous plumber made a shoddy repair that led us to believe the issue was resolved and we could simply wait until that improvement reached the top of the list. Well, on this week it shot to the top of the list. From the moment we reached out to South West, we were met with competence, professionalism, and a lot of compassion. They recognized the urgency of the situation and wasted no time in getting a team to our house to fix the problem. They took the time to confirm the severity of the issue and ensure we were being taken care of. Nobody wants a surprise plumbing issue like this, but they handled it with extraordinary compassion and professionalism, completely putting our minds at ease and worries to rest. What really blew us away was the level of dedication and commitment everyone we talked to showed in helping get us our bathroom back in use. They went above and beyond, assessing the issue, scheduling us quickly, the technicians doing the work, every part of the experience. It was evident they genuinely cared about our well-being and wanted to minimize the disruption to our lives. It's rare to see large companies, or many small ones for that matter, actually prioritize people and show the kind of compassion and technical expertise that South West did. I was surprised they weren't suggested on Yelp, I didn't see them, but I understand now. If you find them on another search site with 4+ stars please be cautious. Needed a water heater replaced. The bid did not make sense to me so I didn't take it. To me, it feels like their business model is to maximize price and labor for all things, even things you don't need or didn't ask for. For example, there was no good reason for me to replace my current size water tank with a larger one for my particular configuration and I didn't have the energy to argue. I think better approach would be to listen to the customer and give them all the options with more reasonable pricing instead of upselling them on everything. read more

If I could, I would rate 0 stars. My family has been struggling to get an electrician and South West was the first to reach out. We had an appointment for one day and when the day came, they got back to us at almost 6pm (mind you, we were scheduled from 12p-3p) saying their electrician went home early. So, they rescheduled us for the next day for a 8a-12p appointment. (We wanted to give them a chance to redeem themselves). At 5:30p on the day of the rescheduled appointment, they called us to reschedule again with no reason. If you're looking for a reliable electrician, look elsewhere and please tell me please. Okay, I normally don't review but figured that others could learn from my experience. Winter of '21 our hot water went out. We are newer home owners and had heard the commercials and received refrigerator magnets when we moved in. We called for a quote and they advised it would be $99 for an estimate which would go toward the repair. We paid $3360 for a new 50 gallon hot water heater installed that also is part of our heating as we have an Aquatherm unit. They used our original mixing valve as the tech stated they usually never fail. They stated the water would take a few hours to heat up. It never did that night and tried calling the 24 hour number. No one answered. We called during "normal" working hours and explained we just paid $3360 for a new hot water heater and it didn't work. They came out and replaced the mixing valve for $641. We complained to Management that they should have done the work the first time and received a refund of $330. Fast forward to the summer of '22 and again, no hot water. We called on Friday to schedule someone to come out as the water heater was only 7 months old. They couldn't come out until sometime the following week. I went to look at the water heater and the pilot was off. Upon further investigation, the tank was leaking into the insulation and dripping on the pilot light. I tried again to call the after hours number to no avail. They just don't answer as they advertise 24 hour service. We called to let them know we found a leak so they knew what to expect. When they finally arrived to look at the issue, they first tried to upsell me on a 60 gallon tank. I stated that the current water heater (under warranty) is the same size as the one prior that had lasted the last home owner 14 years. They begrudgingly stated that they would have to start over and replaced the water heater with a new one to include the mixing valve. They did tell me that the warranty on the updated tank didn't reset and would be minus the 7 months from the other tank. Now it is November '22 and I am not getting hot air from our hydronic Aquatherm furnace which uses our hot water heater. I won't be calling Southwest again unless another company tells me that it has something to do with the tank that is under warranty. Hope this helps and thanks for coming to my Ted talk. Edited 11/7/22 I added another star for the follow up received and the rest of the story. After purging air from the hydronic water heater drain line, I shut off the water heater in order to repair a bathtub cartridge. When I went to relight the pilot, no go. I ended up calling the technician that installed the 2nd new hot water heater. He came out on a Friday late to help me get it restarted. He and his assistant arrived and couldn't get it to start. He stated the gas valve (controller) was clogged (new) and needed to be replaced. He didn't have the part on the truck but let me know someone would be by Saturday morning to replace it. Saturday morning and a new technician arrives. He troubleshoot and agreed that it was my gas valve but didn't have the part. He let me know someone would be out on Monday to replace it. The same duo who replaced the 2nd water heater also came back on Monday and replaced the gas valve, and back in business. I will say that the warranty is pretty legit as I haven't paid a cent since the initial $3800 investment with the company coming out 6 times in total for all the problems that arose. Now, I have to call another plumber as the hydronic Aquatherm furnace sounds like it will need a new heating coil and pump, which I found out most companies won't touch. $2800 for this job. Called them urgently in winter. Had spent $7k on them 6 months earlier for install of an indirect heat tank. Told them this time that boiler was out. No heat or hot water for two days. Ok they said. Will send someone out tomorrow. Waited entire day and into evening. At 7:30pm tech shows up says "I don't do boilers, only indirect heater tanks". WTF. I have a retail store and our toilet sounded like the tank was leaking. Normally something I could fix, but it had an internal bladder that had a crack. Called and SWPlumbing sent someone out. The service tech was professional but the quote was outrageous. He said the tank portion couldn't be replaced and the entire toilet needed to be replaced...for $2500, or $2200 if I wanted to get the less expensive option. Just straight up robbery. I called another company that came out the same day, said I could absolutely just replace the top tank portion (for $895...still expensive) and also quoted me the price to replace the entire toilet, with the same exact toilet that SW quoted for, but it was going to be $1500. On January 25, 2024 we had some extensive work done requiring digging and removing about 40 feet of old cracked piping under our house. Garret Benofsky and his partner Steven Lopez came out and did an amazing job! Not only replacing pipe but ensuring new pipe had adequate places to be able to snake if necessary and ensuring smooth and easy running of all necessary plumbing involved. I got a letter from City utilities saying our water meter was spinning, we might have a leak - followed by a large bill which, thankfully, the City adjusted when I showed I made a few repairs to save water. A month later I got the dreaded 2nd letter, same as the first. I called City and asked how much water was leaking? They told me one meter unit is about 780 gallons - clearly I misunderstood the 1st letter. City recommended I find a leak detection firm. I did and the leak detection technician researched the buried pipe from the street to my house, found something - then he told me I needed to find a plumber to *fix the leak.* On a friend's recommendation, I called Southwest Plumbing and they sent Raul for a free estimate. He scheduled us the next morning, Friday, and brought Gerardo - two positive guys I'm happy to invite into my home. They dug a large hole, carefully avoiding the gas, cable & power lines. Unfortunately, the leak detection technician sent us to a dry hole, there was no leak there - but Raul said he would come back later, after his next job, if we could get the technician back to find the leak. Friday was running out and we envisioned a weekend without water - or leaking thousands of gallons. Leak tech came back and, with new results, I texted Raul. He texted back quickly and told us about his timing. He returned with Gerardo, and they dug a second hole and finished the new job, prepared with parts off the truck. They showed me the parts and process, keeping me informed about the leak repair. They worked late to finish Friday and fully restored all the dirt into both holes.
