SoGro was SoGood. Interesting options with the Tartines. We settled on the Peaches and Cream and the goat cheese provided the perfect amount of savory to go with the sweetness of the sautéed peaches. We also split the breakfast sandwich with sausage on a whole wheat bagel. The sausage tasted great. The crown jewel of our experience was the short stack of pancakes. These were some of the best flap jacks I've come across. Perfectly fluffy and dense on the inside crispy on the outside with a great tasting syrup. Will definitely come back. read more

Found my new study spot! This place is huge and has plenty of food, coffee, beer, and wine options. They even have enough parking and outlets. What surprised me the most was that they have a rewards program, pretty rare for our hometown coffee shops. The ladies here were super sweet and personable. Is there is any small quaint local spot that has stolen my heart this year it has been Southern Grounds! It has become my go to spot for work and productivity. The environment is great, the staff is awesome, and the food it good. There have everything from quick snacks to food to fill you and desserts! Some of the best deserts. It's always in tune with the surrounding community and you can tell when you walk in it's a place where customer service is a focus. I absolutely love it here. Whether it's to work, catch up with a friend, or meet your Tinder date for the first time. Southern Ground is a good spot. (Well ... you may not want to bring your Tinder date here, cause more than likely you'll love the place and they will too and if it doesn't workout you might catch them bringing their next Tinder date here too. But hey, it's good for business so never mind ... bring them! Lol) The music selection is nice as well. Now let's talk seating. There's a comfy couch and a couple of comfy chairs you can sit on/in with coffee tables placed strategically next to them. It's a great place to sit and read or do relaxing work. There are also high tops at the bar, which I find a great spot to be productive at. There are also tables with chairs on the floor placed throughout. The tables along the wall are all conveniently located next to a plug (YESSS!!!) so you don't have to worry about looking like a scavenger on the hunt for plugs for laptop and/or phone. There are 2 unisex bathrooms that are always kept clean and tidy. The only maybe downside, I would say is there is limited space parking on the actually site (maybe 8-9 spaces), but they have additional parking at the office buildings located next door over the railroad tracks. All in all I have NO complaints about Southern Grounds, in fact I encourage you to come here. See that this review is all about and experience it for yourself! read more

Really enjoyed the multiple options for dessert. The salted Carmel cookie was delicious. My husband got the brownie espresso and it was delicious as well. Friends got the butter butter, brownie and key lime cheesecake. They didn't care for the tart but all else was really good. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I've only had the charcuterie and the quesadilla, and both were very good. They have some great choices that look amazing, but I can't seem to pull myself away from the quesadilla when I go. Just passing through and found this through yelp. What a gem! A foodie's delight. Adults ordered Tartines that were beautiful and flavorful--goat cheese with honey & pear is highly recommended. The coffee was delightful and the atmosphere is chill. Our kid ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was good too. Service took a while, but that was just because it's relaxed and quiet. This is now my favorite coffee place on this side of Jax. I frequently come for their chai, so I was kinda bummed when they told me they were out of their usual chai tea today. I was just going to get a latte instead but the barista went out of her way to make a concentrate by hand. Had a terrible experience here this morning. Decided to give this place another try but that was a mistake. Small children sat at a separate table from their parents with zero supervision just running around the restaurant and screaming. Meanwhile the employees just don't care that their dining room has been turned into the McDonald's playground. Manager should have seen the problem and said something to the parents but instead did nothing even as the entire dining room groaned as the children continued to run and scream unsupervised. You can't tell a parent how to parent but you can tell them they have to have the kids sit at the same table, and you can tell them the kids can't just run around the restaurant. By being too afraid of upsetting a couple of lazy parents you instead upset an entire restaurant full of customers by doing nothing. read more

Stopped by for the first time on my way to work. Grabbed an iced coffee (nitro brew) and it was amazing. I'm not the world's biggest coffee connoisseur but I know enough to tell you it's better than Dunkin and Starbucks. There are some complaints about parking in other reviews but I had no issues ... maybe those folks can't drive or aren't used to areas like San Marco? While this may not be the most comprehensive review it is based strictly on the coffee. I have tried giving this place a couple chances but always disappoints me. The whole feel of the place is great, in fact, as I write this review the place is PACKED with people. Must have some great food and wine. With that being said, it is called Southern Grounds (with a coffee cup as the logo), the coffee needs work. I purchased an iced latte with mocha and almond milk. No hyperbole, I've had better coffee from a Keurig. If you want a good cup of coffee just go around 1/4 mile down the road to Bold Bean. read more
