We stopped to charge... and saw home of the soul food. Southern Twist! Staff and Cashier were super friendly. The place was clean and seating was comfortable. I had to know if it had soul. Yesssss! OMG! I didn't take pictures because I was busy enjoying my food. We had the Dino beef ribs, cubed steak, collard greens, cabbage, macaroni and cheese, Candied yams. All delicious and seasoned extraordinarily well. BUT THE GREEN BEANS MY MADE ME rethink my culinary skills. I make great green beans, but these were Indescribably delicious, the way the sauce brought out the seasonings. I had to know how. Chef Dez graciously talk to us but didn't divulge the recipe. There was only 1 person working the day we came...so we had to wait 10 minutes to be acknowledged. In those 10 minutes we noticed this 1 worker trying to cook in the back, prep the online orders & maybe got a chance to clean 1 of the 4 tables stacked with plates & trash from previous diners. Not the best start to our road trip soul food but I'm guilty of thinking that soul food is amazing when the service is mediocre...until today. No seafood at all today (& on a Sunday!) so I only ate sides which were ok but basically $20 for sides...a few people came in from charging their Teslas a hop away (great location!) but walked right back out when they weren't acknowledged right away or once they found out that all the meat plates were $30+. I think we eventually saw the owner before we left but he just strolled thru. We will definitely give another try if they have seafood next time. read more

Meatloaf was great, smothered pork chops, so tender and yummy and the fried catfish was amazing with the homemade tartar sauce. You must must must get the yams, incredible.
