    Beach in front of hotel
    Avalyn J.

I stayed at Southold Beach Motel Sunday to Tuesday as a quick getaway after the July 4th rush. I initially emailed them to ask about availability and the room differences. The response was very quick. We went with the water view suite which has one queen bed and a couch. The water view double room has two queen beds. All waterview rooms face the ocean and the beach. Each room has in front their own table and chair set up with an umbrella. It nice to sit back and chill there and watch the sunset. Rooms were clean, ac, kitchen area with full fridge, microwave, stove, sink. Backdoor opens to another sitting area. Staff were nice to let us check out a little later since they werent fully booked which we appreciated. Overall its a basic motel. Nothing fancy but with all your immediate needs. Great location - across from the beach and right near all the vineyards, the brewery and Greenport town. I'm giving it 3 stars because the bed is hard as concrete. I love a firm mattress so that says alot!! We woke up with backaches every morning. To me a bed is one of the most important things in a room. Would i come back? Yes because of convenience but not before looking into other options.

This place is a hidden gem! Rooms are clean and there's wood laminate floors so no gross carpet to walk on! Each room comes with a little kitchenette with a full fridge and stove! Every room has its own outside table and chairs with gorgeous water views! The town beach on the Sound is literally a few steps away! It's only a few minutes drive to Pindar, Raphael's, Osprey's Dominion and many more wineries! Also only about 7 minutes from Greenport! I will 100% be staying here again!

This is the room , queen size bed shoved against the wall!

Sorry Amy , yes you are a nice person, but I feel this room was a BIG TIME RIPOFF ! I think you take advantage of your location ! $170.00 for a Thursday evening plus $19.76 tax , that's one nite for $199.76., for that little tiny closet of a room ? My husband and I couldn't even stand in that room at the same time ! I felt very claustrophobic and couldn't wait to get out ! Yes maybe you feel like you lost out cause I had a credit from living social , but when I just now checked your rates online when I got home I see you charged me extra AND there was NO WIFI ! We noticed we were the only car there overnight so you could have given us a better room ! SORRY BUT AS THE CLOCK IS TICKING , I AM GETTING MORE AND MORE UPSET. Maybe I should have said something when I was checking out but I didn't realize until I went on your website just now how much more you charged me !!!! This was bad business sense on your part because I would not recommend staying here ! Actually the pictures make it look better than it was . But the bed was just about the WHOLE room

Including guests fighting, domestic violence and barking dogs. You will get ZERO relaxation and the staff rolls their eyes when you complain about it. To say the experience was horrible is an understatement. And for $1800 for 2 nights they don't even have a pool or a restaurant or a beach or anything. Just a food truck. I don't know how this place stays in business honestly. I complained to the manager multiple times while we were there to please move our room because the people above us are purposely stomping on the floor to ruin our weekend and they were very nasty about it and unsympathetic. They said we're full and can't move you. I complained I wanted a refund and they sent a big pre written email that was clearly written by their lawyers to avoid having to issue anyone refunds. And as per their horrible reviews I'm not the first person to complain about their paper thin walls and ceilings and I definitely won't be the last. That's why they have a professional letter from their lawyer to avoid any refunds. And their tates cookies in the room for $18 are actually $4. I found the exact ones in stop and shop for $4. What a scam. Would not recommend this "boutique" hotel at all. Go to Greenport and stay at Harbor Front Inn for a positive experience you will feel good about.

The rooms are beautifully designed -- clean, modern, and super comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen! We loved waking up to the patio with the water views a few feet away. The on-site food truck, Maizeat, is a total standout -- the food was fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious. Great bonus: a free light breakfast every morning! The location is ideal -- just minutes from Greenport and other charming North Fork towns. The property is kid- and pet-friendly, with a relaxed, welcoming vibe and amazing service from start to finish. Between the stunning sunsets, cozy outdoor spaces, and the convenience of docking your boat right there, The Shoals offers a truly unique and memorable experience. Already planning our return!

An Absolutely Exceptional Stay -- Silver Sands Is Something Special…read more My wife and I spent three days at Silver Sands celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary, and although this was our first visit, it certainly will not be our last. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the experience was exceptional. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. What impressed us most was how incredibly organized, attentive, and welcoming everyone was without ever being intrusive. It was almost as if the staff had mastered the art of being there exactly when you needed something, while somehow remaining nearly invisible the rest of the time. That level of service is very difficult to achieve, and Silver Sands does it beautifully. The property itself is immaculate. The grounds are meticulously maintained while still allowing the natural beauty of the surroundings to remain part of the experience. The private beach was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully organized. Throughout the day, we would notice staff quietly moving through, straightening and maintaining everything, yet they were so unobtrusive you could barely tell it was happening. The attention to detail throughout Silver Sands is remarkable. From the design and atmosphere of the property to the pour-over coffee in the room, the thoughtfully selected shampoos and conditioners, linens, amenities, and overall cleanliness -- everything feels intentional. Our room was absolutely impeccable. Silver Sands somehow manages to capture the nostalgia and charm of the classic American motel while feeling modern, sophisticated, and luxurious at the same time. Calling it a "motel" almost doesn't do it justice. It is a truly unique property that can easily rival some of the best hotels and resorts we've stayed at. And then there are Eddie's and Nookie's! Both onsite restaurants were fantastic. The staff and service were wonderful, and everything we ate was top-notch. We left already talking about coming back so we can try more of the menu. Over our 31 years together, my wife and I have been fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful and far-off destinations. Yet there were moments during our stay at Silver Sands when we genuinely felt transported somewhere else entirely -- certainly not like we were still on Long Island, and at times not even like we were anywhere in the United States. It has a special atmosphere that is difficult to describe until you experience it yourself. Thank you to the entire Silver Sands team, as well as everyone at Eddie's and Nookie's, for making our 31st anniversary one of our most memorable, relaxing, and enjoyable staycations. You helped make an already special occasion even more special. We arrived as first-time guests and left knowing we'll be back and bringing others to experience what we had. Thank you again, Silver Sands. See you all soon!

The room was sizable and clean. We loved the outdoor areas set up to sit and relax with a view of the marina. We walked down the dock and spent a few minutes speaking to a friendly fisherman. We enjoy both Southold and Greenport and found this location perfect for both. Just a few minutes drive to downtown Greenport, but with vineyards around the corner. Add two restaurants in walking distance, and it was perfect for our getaway. Really only two drawbacks for me. First, the walls are THIN. We came in low season where there was almost no one there, but I imagine this could be a problem. We could clearly hear our downstairs neighbor snoring as well as other, ahem, night time activities. Second, the bed seems comfortable to sit on but I found that I kept getting soreness in my hips. The pillows were a bit flat.

The one thing that was a little upsetting was when the kids were running around barefoot in our room, their little feet became covered in dirt. While the rooms looked spotless, it seems the carpets need a good cleaning.

We were looking for a restful, beautiful place to spend our first non-staycation vacation in over…read moretwenty years and we were lucky enough to find the Bartlett House Inn. Actually, lucky isn't a strong enough word-- blessed is more like it. Bartlett House is a sumptuously decorated restored 19th century home that felt like OUR home almost as soon as our hosts, Diane & Jack Gilmore, checked us in. We stayed in the French Room on the third floor. It is beautifully decorated with period furniture and one of the most comfortable beds it's ever been my pleasure to sleep in. The climate control in the rooms is excellent-- although the weather outside during our 5 day stay varied wildly from gale-force winds and rain to chilly drizzle and then spring-like conditions, the weather inside our room was always comfy-cozy. The bathroom has a wonderful deep soaking tub and a sunflower shower head (and GREAT water pressure! I was really surprised at that!!). Everything in our room-- even in the walk-in sized closet!--was absolutely spotless. All the linens, bed and bath, were of very high quality and for the first time in my life, I felt like there were enough towels (as well as lovely oversized terry bathrobes for each of us). But the breakfasts....well, the breakfasts are what will bring us back again next year (we are already planning another stay, a longer one next time). Jack and Diane outdo themselves every morning with a bottomless buffet of coffee, cereals, smoked salmon (my fave!), black forest ham, fresh tomatoes, breads/bagels/muffins, streusel cake, cheeses, hard- and soft-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, and Diane's incomparable breakfast quiches. The buffet is served in their beautifully decorated dining room (also on the porch if weather permits) on lovely mix-and-match china. It is, in a word, sublime. By the time we had to leave for home, we didn't want to go. Diane and Jack made us feel like family, and made Bartlett House feel like a second home to us. We simply can't wait to return.

The host(s) would not answer our calls & the email address was kicking back as undeliverable. We had to search the entire place to find the master keys. There are many places far better than this one in the area. I recommend you look into those.
