Really like this restaurant! The fried halloumi was really tasty and the Greek salad was very fresh. They have happy hour from 2-6 everyday with $10 cocktail specials. The place looks like a slice of Greece and the server was nice. I'll be back.

Always a great solid option- Really good quality med food at a good price point. Ended up doing take out for the gals and order a couple of pita zas- chicken, meat, & greek salad-- loved the meat & greek salad one as well as enjoyed dips tziki, hummus, & greek salad. Always a clasic staple and love coming here- they were very quick and so worth it- recommend

This was overall okay, I personally was not a huge fan. I got the Pastitsio, and it was a bit underwhelming. I felt that the amount of cheese on top, and very little pasta and meat was a huge component of this. I think I would try something else if I came here a second time, but I would recommend this dish to anyone who likes the heavy cheese-type pf pasta dishes. The service was good though, and there was plenty of seating!!

I got a variety of items from here for takeout and I thought everything was really delicious. The Avgolemono soup was super thick and creamy and I almost wish it had a little bit more acidity. I got the prassjni and that was OK but pretty big portions. The chicken and potatoes were very saucy and juicy but the highlight of the show was the pastistio. The layers of bechamel were so delicious and I think it's a must get dish.

Following a poetry open-mic hunger pangs strike with the added disclaimer that I skipped lunch and breakfast inadvertently earlier in the day. Saturday afternoon with a party of two for late lunch summons Greek cuisine in Lower East Side, Manhattan, NY. It was rather quiet with few patrons and no wait is needed. The atmospheric ambiance revolves the Greek national flag colors blue and white resemble a Greek Isle. None of the wine by the glass listed on their menu pique my interest. I decided on water for my beverage which was already provided. I have minimal experience with Greek cuisine, but I have always enjoyed a nicely stuffed gyro or chicken skewers. Our server Elisa H. was somewhat pushy as she collected our plates while I was still consuming my entree, but my dinning buddy finished his meal. Neither of us ordered an appetizer, side dish, specials, nor alcohol. Augh, can I finish the remnants of my entree as it literally is the one piece for the last bite... even Jesus finished his last meal for the Last Supper!! There were no dinning patrons flooding the restaurant standing waiting for a table, ergo what is the rush? We spent most of our time discussing artists whose performance or poetic reading lack energy as unenthusiastic without zealous depicting a despondent and lackadaisical personality. Price is reasonable and aligns to 2025 inflation era as considered the new normal. Takeout menus are available for grabs. The circular tables are intensely small to fend an intimate dinning experience with your party. Souvlaki Pita $8.75 + add shrimp $2.00 = $10.75 Pita wrapped with tomato chunks, red onions, fries, Tazatziki sauce and shrimp. The pita bread was very fresh and soft. Unfortunately, I did not carefully read the menu as there were French fries in this pita gyro which was intensely weird. The contents were very minimal for a stuffed gyro. There were no lettuce. I like the red onions which was very minimal, but enhanced the flavor and the shrimp were small size. The Tazatziki sauce was average flavor. In general the pita gyro ate my fill as I always enjoy pita wraps. Garides Saganaki $25.00 Sautéed shrimp skillet with green peppers, Feta cheese, tomato sauce and Ouzo. The pita bread were very fresh cut into triangle shape. The shrimp were, thankfully, not swimming in tomato sauce for the appearance of tomato soup. Souroti sparkling water $9.00

The pita bread was so bad and the sauce was salty.

Came here today for a Sunday brunch between 12:30 pm and 1 pm and we will not return. The service and quality were truly lacking. Upon entering, we were seated with different menus on our table. The lunch specials were appealing however when our waiter came to our table, he said that it was for weekdays only and the menu next to it was for dinner that took place after 4 pm. Then he went into the details of the dinner menu which was weird since it's the weekend and we are here for brunch during brunch hours. When we let our waiter know that we're here for brunch and asked for his recommendation, he just quickly pointed through the items on the menu and said this and that is good and he has them all the time and he's used to them... which was just weird. So one of my friends took his recommendation and ordered the Spanakopita, which she thought was a pie, but when it came out, it was 3 small dumplings that were only fitting for a snack. My other friend and I ordered the pita wrap, one with chicken and another with Shrimp, the quality of the pita was just horrible and the sauce was salty. My friend ended up just having the shrimp in her pita. I had better pita wrap elsewhere. The worst brunch ever!! The service and quality were so bad! Will not return and do not recommend it. The midtown location is better. This location is trash.

Stopped by Souvlaki GR for a light bite, it was a warm April day so we were able to even sit outside! Note they still have an outside covered shack, which is directly across the street from Carnegie Hall. The outdoor shack was not busy, there was only 2 other tables. I felt the service was lacking, waited quite a bit for the server to place our order. I ordered the spanakopita and the gigantes. The spanakopita was definitely homemade, it was entirely filled with spinach, my favorite! Additionally, I also got the gigantes, which was also delicious! Overall, the food was delicious, the service is questionable. But for the gigantes and spanakopita, I will definitely be coming back

Very pleased with my delivery order! I chose a few skewers (chicken, pork, beef), along with fries and the melitzanosalata. The pork skewer was my favorite, followed closely by the chicken. The beef one, while good, was not quite what I was craving (I was in the mood for beef chunks vs a meatball texture). The fries were good with a nice Greek seasoning - and the melitzanosalata paired well with all of the food. The portion of pita they provided was more than enough! Would definitely recommend for a quick but hearty meal.

Original plan was Katz but the line was too long, wandered around and came up to this place. Been craving a pita/ gyro and this place delivered. Had a steak pita and lamb pita about $8 each, which i could have just had one and been satisfied. They were both loaded with seasoned fries, meat, veggies and tzatziki sauce. Also thought I'd have some greens and ordered their Greek salad....This thing was massive!! Easily 2 could have this, very good olives, feta and all the fixins. Very solid place that I'd happily come back to!

I am in town for work and I recall seeing this cute Greek restaurant It was late when we wrapped for the day....i checked online and Souvlaki was open still! I walked over from Hotel Indigo, walked in and was warmly greeted by Andreas. I need to mention I worked for a Greek family when I was younger and I very much missed so much about them and their restaurant. Speaking to Andreas was like the nostalgia returned. I ordered spanakopita, a Greek salad and a drink. I knew from the atmosphere, music, and overall conversation that this was authentic and anticipated my dinner. I thank Andreas and took a menu with me. I am now absolutely enjoying everything about my meal. I didn't want heavy so the spanakopita was nice - light with spinach cheese and dill, these were made in house for sure! The Greek salad absolutely amazing all ingredients fresh and the feta was creamy and high quality. Herbs used were I am definitely returning here soon as we are here for the week. I am so glad I went in tonight. If your local or in town for pleasure or business please visit Andreas and everyone at Souvlaki you will be so delighted you did!

The cutest restaurant with a real Greek vibe. The service was excellent, super friendly staff and owner accommodated all of our needs. The food was delicious and fresh. We had the grilled octopus, chicken avgolemono soup and pork souvlaki.

Randomly stopped by this place because I couldn't make it back to Westchester without eating. I'm a sucker for Mediterranean food. Soooo glad I stopped. Here are the deets. Pros: --very intimate and cute dining room --I can't speak for my service overall, but I liked my waitress. She was helpful in assisting me with selection of food choices. --my food was excellent. I ordered a large appetizer, and an entree, so I had plenty left over for lunch today. --the spicy feta, tzatziki, lemon potatoes, and meatballs were fantastic. Cons: --parking in that area is terrible, so keep that in mind. --the hummus was disappointing. Unfortunately, that seems common across most Greek restaurants I've eaten at in NY. Overall: I hope to return, and would recommend this spot to others.

Got the gyro and Greek fries, both were pretty good but not outstanding. I've been to the other location in midtown, and in my opinion, that location tastes better. The gyro was flavorful, but a little cold. The fries were crispy, but the cheese flavors didn't not really blend.

The mussels were tender and served in a delicious, flavorful broth. The moussaka was rich, creamy, and clearly homemade. The grilled tsipura was incredibly fresh, cooked perfectly, and simply seasoned to let the quality of the fish shine. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the overall experience felt genuine and relaxing. If you're looking for authentic Greek cuisine made with care, this place is definitely worth visiting. We'll definitely be back!

Busy for Monday evening. Felt like I stepped into Greece…read more I started with the complimentary bread, it was good. The crust was a little hard but I liked the fresh spread, I would recommend adding some olive oil, salt and pepper for more flavor. I got the traditional Greek salad. The salad was good. I love the tomatoes they tasted fresh. Though found myself wanting to add more salt and pepper for more flavor to pop. The dressing was good for dipping the bread in too. The octopus was delicious. Very fresh. Good portion. It was seared perfectly. I love how it was cut for me too, nice and tender. Not too chewy. The dill and capers were a nice touch. Seems the staff remember familiar faces, very friendly and all Greek. Altogether it was $64 which I find very pricey. The octopus was priced at $31 which wasn't bad. But the salad being $28 seems extreme. Overall a nice experience. Bit of a wait for the food
