Their creamy milk tea and Japanese pudding are a must-try! There is no place that replicates the flavor. I love their tofu pudding desserts and notice they recently expanded their menu, which includes pandan waffles and sugarcane juice. The drinks are on the sweeter side, so I suggest 50% sweetness level. Boba was nothing special, but the Japanese pudding and tofu pudding were better toppings. With most visits, their service can be a little slow, but the staff were friendly. This location is more of a kiosk with no seating, so if you want to hang out, the Silver Creek location is the place to go. Otherwise, I just come here for their creamy milk tea with Japanese pudding. It'll always be #1!!! read more

Soyful Desserts is a hole-in-the wall shop offering a variety of silken soy pudding drinks with assorted toppings in the heart of San Jose's Little Saigon neighborhood. If you're looking for a Vietnamese refresher that contains all the toppings your heart could wish for, go lift your spirits at Soyful Desserts! I had to drive up and down the side of the mall to locate Soyful Desserts (the sign was small!), and parking was tight. When I got to the window, it was like being at a walk-up café. A couple of tables and chairs were set out for folks to sit and enjoy their drinks, and a gentle breeze blew down the walk. I ordered the #8 Combination soy pudding drink and waited while the lady made the drink for me. She handed the drink to me with a smile, and I told her that it was beautifully made. Indeed, the drink was beautiful to look at. Spoonfuls and spoonfuls of soy tofu mixed with sweet syrup and Japanese pudding. Layered on top was the green pandan jelly, gelled basil seed, grass jelly, and red bean, all topped with shaved ice. I took my first sip. The soft silken tofu was the main event, very cool and balanced by the creamy pudding and sweet syrup. I lifted my straw higher to pull in more toppings, and the sweet floral pandan landed on my tongue. The grass jelly followed after, tender and al dente. Gelled basil seeds slid past, and I enjoyed their soft crunch between my teeth. The red bean was soft and starchy, with a hint of sweetness that rounded out the cast of toppings. Not too sweet, with a variety of flavors and textures to delight the tongue, my combination drink from Soyful Desserts was a cup of wonder. I found that Soyful Desserts creates joyful desserts, and mine definitely warmed my heart. When I'm craving soy tofu drinks again, I'll be back for more. read more

The pandan waffle was chewy and stood on its own but they could put in some more effort. They threw the waffle in a brown paper bag, no napkins, no utensils. And the food menu is one item. Ambiance could be improved. read more

Pandan waffle is deep flavor--not really mochi texture, but a true waffle texture. Combination #8 definitely had a variety but would love to have more toppings rather than the tofu pudding. Service people were timely. read more

Soyful is one of my go-to boba spots in San Jose! Tucked along Story Road, it might not be the easiest place to find parking but honestly, it's worth the hassle The service is always friendly, though it's usually just one person working, so things can move a little slow during peak hours. Still, they always take their time to make the drinks right, and I appreciate that. Their Creamy Rose Milk Tea is one of my absolute favorites -- smooth, floral, and not too sweet. It's one of those drinks that keeps you coming back. The menu isn't huge, but they focus on doing their drinks well. Yoooo, I'm biased towards this place, but the dessert drinks are so good. They don't have a walk in place. You walk up to a little window along the wall and order from there haha. Love it, reminds me of small street eateries. Their hours are also limited which isn't really an issue, and they have a second location in Silver Creek. My favorite to order has always been #5. They have a lot to try and they're all good to me so far, but #5 is where it's at. They're classic desserts that are common in Vietnam and what I grew up eating. I'm not too much a fan of the mound of ice, but I love that the ice is crushed up and breaks down easily at least. It's a nice option after having dinner in the plaza. I definitely recommend it to those who love pudding desserts. read more

The parking situation is usually more packed on weekends if you want to go. You can't really go into the store. It's more of a walk-up window where you can order and receive the drinks from, but there are surrounding seats and tables to sit on. There's one person working there, and they were pretty nice, and they came out with the drinks quickly. We ordered a: - Creamy Milk Tea (4/5): More creamy than tea taste. The only way I can describe the taste is if you've ordered an 'ice cream black tea' from Gong Cha, but with a creamier, custard-y taste. - Coffee Foam (5/5): Has a thicker texture compared to the Creamy MT. My boyfriend says that it has a very strong coffee taste, saying it's both bitter and sweet at the same time, and prefers the creamy MT more. I think I'd prefer it when I make coffee, though I tasted a creamier, milkier flavor than coffee. read more

I ordered the pandan waffle. It was okay. I felt it lacked the coconut flavor I'm used to. The banana matcha was good. It would be great if there were an option to request less sugar. The only option was "standard". Service was fast and friendly, and the boba shop is clean with plenty of seating to enjoy a drink with friends or family. read more

place is tucked in the corner and is very small! you can miss it with ease. my cousin lives there #1 and always buys it when we're in the area we arrived in the area around 5:25pm and checked to see if soyful desert was open. luckily we had 5 minutes before it closed. instead of parking at the dinner spot, we drove straight to soyful dessert. no body was at the front and 3 parties including myself stood there for a few minutes. one party left and the other (man in front of me) rang the bell A LOT to finally hear a woman say coming! (in a sweet voice) he placed his order then i placed mine. $7 dollars later i have a medium size #1 with egg pudding. i was never asked what size, so maybe they only have one size? just know just have every short working hours. monday - closed tuesday to friday - 2pm-6pm saturday to sunday 12pm-8pm i have no idea how they're still up and running when typically people work 8-5 on weekdays. their sign literally says to go to the silver creek location if you want longer hours. that's just wild. but they're managing i guess so it works for them. read more

It's my first time coming back here in years and they have some of the most slept on drinks in the bay. I always order the Creamy Milk Tea and add Japanese pudding to it. That drink is definitely top 3 in the Bay. I heard the Hong Kong milk tea is good too so I have to try this out when I find the time to go to Vietnam Town. There's only outdoor seating, there's not much of a good view and there's limited tables. read more

Soyful has been one of my favorite boba spots in San Jose, but all of a sudden, it's just my favorite now! San Jose is saturated with boba spots; sometimes, they all taste the same, depending on what you get. I was in Vietnam Town for Thanksgiving and stopped by Soyful to have my girlfriend try it. We ordered at the window and ordered their classic Creamy Milk Tea with Japanese pudding. The Japanese pudding gives the milk tea some nice texture, and I don't feel the need to add boba, too! I don't know how to describe the drink, but it's perfect. This could be a drink for nonmilk tea fans or people unfamiliar with boba drinks due to the perfect sweetness and milky taste. read more

I haven't been here in a few years since before COVID but I randomly thought I'd give this place a try again the other day. This place is a small outdoor stand by Bình Minh. This place was just as I remembered, the Creamy Milk Tea with egg pudding is a go to along with their tofu drinks! The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because the boba was kinda hard and they weren't chewy. Along with that there's only one person managing so it's kinda slow. read more

WHEN: 4:30pm Lunch was had as we find our way to a dessert spot, we stumbled upon this tiny window stall (so no indoor seating) that serves various Milk Teas served with Japanese or Soy Pudding. Here's what my sis and I ordered: CREAMY MILK TEA - $6.50 So if you look at the picture, you see pudding in there. But it doesn't come with Japanese pudding--you have to pay $0.50 more to add them in. Very misleading. It's okay though it's $0.50 more. Overall okay, simply beverage. Got it cuz apparently its only of the popular items here. SOY PUDDING w/PANDAN BOBA - $7.50 Lots of textures going on in here, but make sure you mix it up well otherwise that first sip will be super sweet! Everything in this drink is wonderfully soft. There's Boba, Pandan Jelly, Pudding (I think both kinds?). Regardless this large drink is easily shareable and it was good. The staff was friendly, honest and helpful when explaining the drinks since it was our first time. They have some seatings outside to enjoy your drink, shaded. read more

A small, tiny shop located in San Jose's Little Saigon. It's pretty interesting because this Soyful is located in this super small area on the side of the block. Very fast, very efficient, and the drink that I got was yummy. I honestly don't remember what I ordered but the drink was this milky dessert drink with jellies, boba, and pudding. It looks like a mouthful, but it was pretty good. It honestly was a bit too sweet with 50% sweet but I'll definitely ask for less sweetness from that. Underrated milk tea shop in Little Saigon! If you love soy pudding or egg pudding as much as I do, this is my favorite place. The place itself is very small and it can be hard to find. Only one person there to take your order and do your drink. There are quit a few seats available outside for you to seat and drink if you prefer. I like the facts that you can adjust the sweetness of your drink. I like the tofu drink cuz they are very soft and tender. Will be going back again in the near future. read more

Soyful Desserts is a little slit of a window. There's no walking inside the dessert shop. No line or wait on a Sunday afternoon. Everything tasted OK. There's no boba option until 45 minutes later. Fast and helpful service. My mouth tasted weird after drinking the HK milk tea. read more

Came on a Saturday evening around 7pm and was slightly disappointed there were no drinks left, only dessert was available. We ordered a soy pudding combination over the counter and the service was fast, since they made it on the spot. Honestly thought the soy pudding was pretty average for the price you pay ($~8). It was overly sweet (I recommend 50% sweetness or lower) and the texture was interesting. Some sips were crunchy due to the basil seeds, while other bites are purely red bean, or pandan with soy pudding even after mixing the drink. Next time, I will order drinks instead. Tips: - There's no indoor seating! Only 2 tables of outdoor seating in front of the shop but both were occupied at the time I went. - Mix the drink well! Otherwise the syrup won't be evenly distributed and it won't taste good. read more

This is located in the Vietnam Town plaza, so parking can be a bit tricky during prime time or weekends. Soyful Desserts is just a store front with a window for ordering and pickup. After some BBH, we decided to grab dessert so swung by around 12:30pm and it seems like they were barely just opening. I was slightly disappointed because they didn't have a handful of toppings for most of their drinks so had to substitute for other options. I got the soy pudding with basil seed and grass jelly. I don't believe they had the option to tweak the sweetness and ice levels. Drinking it without mixing was just okay, but mixing it completely made it taste better because the sweeter toppings mixed in. I really like the tofu pudding because it was really smooth but other than that, the other toppings were meh. I would like to give this place another try and hopefully they have all the toppings ready because that's the whole point of these drinks, to get what's in the cup. read more

I'm biased because i love anything tofu. Sweet tofu, savory tofu, I'm here for it all!! My go to order is the #5, no pandan jelly, no boba, add Japanese pudding, light ice and 25% sweet because the pudding is already pretty sweet. I usually can't finish it all, but it's such a treat!! There was a sweet auntie who took my order today and it was the best one I've had so far. Usually they put too much tofu and not enough pudding. I just wished that they had the #1 creamy milk tea with a non dairy option because I've been dying to try it but I'm lactose intolerant. read more

3.5/5. I got the soyful combination that's essentially a che 3 mau but with tofu as the base. I like how subtle the soymilk was, but I beleive the drink was missing some sort of flavor as it was either too bland in some sips or just filled with coconut milk despite mixing the drink up. Their creamy milk tea with pudding is SOOO good!! Definitely lower the sweetness if you plan on trying it - it's already super sweet at 50%! This Soyful location is a small and quaint spot, located inside of Vietnam Town. Parking can be difficult, and at the store itself there's about 2-3 tables for outdoor seating (although each time I've been here, they don't seem to clean these tables very often). The Creamy Milk Tea is my go-to here, the tea flavor is very fragrant and the drink is super milky! I always choose pudding as my topping when visiting since their pudding literally melts in your mouth and is SOOO good - but unfortunately every time I add it, it feels as though they skimp on the amount they put in since two to three sips later... no more pudding :( I wish they could do better with the drink to topping ratio! They also have a small fee if you pay with your card - so be prepared and bring cash if you don't want to pay it! read more

After reading the reviews, I thought this was going to be really good. We got 2 drinks, one soy drink and a HK lemon tea. I didn't really care for the soy drink, and maybe take this as a grain of salt. I didn't care for the tofu fa being a drink, it was thick and kind of warm, there wasn't enough ice. We didn't finish it. We did like the HK lemon tea, it was refreshing and reminded me of lemon tea from HK. In addition, all of the tables and chairs outside were dirty and sticky. read more

We got hongkong milk tea and soy based combo drink. I enjoyed both. Hongkong milk tea definitely has the strong tea flavor that I like and I like soy pudding so both drinks were delicious!! Would definitely come back if I'm around the area for soy pudding drink. If the place was much closer to me, i would probably come here often since i prefer soy pudding vs boba. They have tables outside only that you can sit and enjoy if you want. read more
