First, we drove 30 minutes to get there.. walking into this place. It looks beautiful, I've never been to Jamaica, but it makes me feel like I'm going back to Florida because of all the tropical vibes clean place. the bathrooms have really good ambience and windows we're very clean. Even The sun was shining into the bathroom. Good music, a huge selection of drinks and all imported from Jamaica, easy to make it a to go order or eat inside. first reason why this is the best Jamaican restaurant in North Carolina because all of them treat us like family even the first time going. the food was very hot and up to temp I loved the jerk chicken the smoky authentic flavor straight from the grill. They have all the traditional spices and everything and even asked if we wanted a spicy sauce with the jerk chicken. This place is very good and even has a convenient store next to it selling Mexican grocery... and I hope they can soon make more locations for SP Jamaican jerk kitchen in North Carolina or Florida. The sign outside said "Come on in and spice up your life" - and I'm glad I did! This is a new authentic Jamaican restaurant that hits all the right notes. For my first visit, I had oxtails: cooked up tender and served in a thick, savory gravy. I gnawed all the bones to get every bit of flavor. For my sides, I had plantains (cooked perfect, soft and moist) and Rasta Pasta, a blend of noodles and vegetables swimming in a creamy white sauce. Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous. They have a large selection of bottled "island drinks" in the cooler. I will def be returning to SP to take my tastebuds back to the Caribbean. read more

Just left SP Jamaican Jerk Chicken and the food was great. My wife and I both got brown stew dishes, I got the chicken and she got the fish. The sides were great, my favorite was the plantain, and you have to try the chicken patties. Some of the best! read more

Placed a pick-up order so can really only comment on the food and it was great! We ordered the snapper, brown chicken stew and the jerk chicken. We pretty much got one of each of their sides. The brown stew chicken was amazing! It fell right off the bone. I loved the cabbage, rice with beans and the candied yam as sides. The Mac and cheese was probably my least favorite as it was dry and kind of bland but everything else was absolutely delicious! Would definitely order from them again when we visit! read more

I first saw this place when i moved to hendersonville in the summer, ive been gettiing food here multiple times a month since! Flavor is excellent, the speed is unmatched, the folks who are working are so friendly and you can tell they care about what they feed people and care about the people they are feeding. Also the price is awesome. most if not all the entrees are around $15 give or take depending on what you get. and include two sides and they are very generous with the portions. everything ive tried so far has been awesome but i always keep getting the jerk chicken or the ox tails! Was excited to try this place ! went there the guy taking the order didn't speak which is fine then when my friend was placing his order he seemed as if he didn't want to take the order ,asked for a side of yams and rice to go with the oxtail (since when did rice count as a side ? Any other Jamaican place the rice comes with the oxtail ..and besides it's white rice not even rice and peas )anyway got the plate there were two sides of huge yams,had to go back to the get the side of rice ,the oxtails were super small food was barely warm and the whole experience and meal wasn't what i expected !the best thing i had was the soda ,disappointed for sure . read more

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The people were so kind and the food was excellent. I am from the Caribbean and used to this type of food. It was definitely authentic and what l expected when I ordered. The jerk dishes are spicy but manageable for folks that order medium heat on other food. What a blessing that this restaurant opened in Hendersonville where diversity in international cuisine is sorely needed! The food is delicious and the portions are generous! My go to order is curry chicken and I usually change up my 2 sides. The beef empanadas or beef patties as they're called on the menu are also the bomb diggity! I've also had the Brown Stew Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Ox Tail Stew and have been happy with each new try. The tall friendly matron at the cash register is the owner along with her husband, who is usually in the back cooking the delicious orders. I'm so glad to have a Jamaican restaurant here again. The location isn't great. I'm sure it's cheap and that's what matters. The staff were friendly when I went and picked up my meal there. It appears to be clean. Everything is served fresh and hot. It's not cheap food. The quality and flavor makes it worth the price. I've had the rice and peas, oxtails, plantains, jerk chicken, curry goat, garlic shrimp, rasta pasta, and coca bread. I haven't had anything I didn't like. I hope this small business can survive. The yams were cooked perfect but not overly sweet, plantains were carmelized to perfection! My husband had the Rasta pasta with the stewed beef. The pasta has a nice little kick to it and the beef was so tender it melts in your mouth! Service was great! The gentleman up front is so good at multitasking! He was taking orders on the phone and in the dinning room, but he gave you all his attention when it was your turn and was ready to answer any questions. Really wanted to like this place but it is a no go for us. Went in around dinner time and not a soul in the place except for what seemed like the workers hanging out. The food was kept in warming trays behind the cash register. It was pre-made from what we could see. Tasted like it had been sitting around for a while. It was just not good.
