    Cooking traditional jerk chicken

First, we drove 30 minutes to get there.. walking into this place. It looks beautiful, I've never been to Jamaica, but it makes me feel like I'm going back to Florida because of all the tropical vibes clean place. the bathrooms have really good ambience and windows we're very clean. Even The sun was shining into the bathroom. Good music, a huge selection of drinks and all imported from Jamaica, easy to make it a to go order or eat inside. first reason why this is the best Jamaican restaurant in North Carolina because all of them treat us like family even the first time going. the food was very hot and up to temp I loved the jerk chicken the smoky authentic flavor straight from the grill. They have all the traditional spices and everything and even asked if we wanted a spicy sauce with the jerk chicken. This place is very good and even has a convenient store next to it selling Mexican grocery... and I hope they can soon make more locations for SP Jamaican jerk kitchen in North Carolina or Florida. We will definitely come back was so good might go every week. Jamaica I love you!!

The sign outside said "Come on in and spice up your life" - and I'm glad I did! This is a new authentic Jamaican restaurant that hits all the right notes. For my first visit, I had oxtails: cooked up tender and served in a thick, savory gravy. I gnawed all the bones to get every bit of flavor. For my sides, I had plantains (cooked perfect, soft and moist) and Rasta Pasta, a blend of noodles and vegetables swimming in a creamy white sauce. Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous. They have a large selection of bottled "island drinks" in the cooler. I will def be returning to SP to take my tastebuds back to the Caribbean.

Excellent Jamaican Food! Had the Brown Stew w/ Rice and Peas and Jerk Chicken w/ Double Mac & Cheese and everything was delicious! Highly recommend checking this place out and will definitely be coming back! Updating the review as I have also tried the Rasta Pasta as a side. It was unsurprisingly delicious! Can't wait to try some more stuff on the menu.

Yes yes yes! The food is perfection, the service is great, and the atmosphere is very laid back, comforting I would say. I wanna pick up the whole restaurant and put it in my back yard! I w

Great food! Best jerk chicken ever. Quick service and clean restaurant. Curried Chicken is a good choice if you like something more mild.

Always delicious. My favorites are the oxtail, curried goat and curried chicken. Also the beef and chicken patties are delicious.

He thought the gravy was good, bangers were just ok and the bed of cabbage was way overcooked and mushy. He appreciates that they pull a good pint of Guinness. As locals, we will always return, but the place sorely needs a refresh. It feels tired, and somewhat uncared for. Paint and a deep cleaning, especially in the restrooms, would really be beneficial.

I ordered a Smithwick's ale and my wife got a Diet Coke. A waitress who spent a fair amount of time chit chatting with the table next to us while we waited, finally asked what we wanted for lunch. I love their corned beef and cabbage soup I ordered a bowl of that, and I ordered the fish sandwich with a side of zesty fried pickles and jalapeños, my wife ordered the traditional Fish and chips. 3 items right easy enough to remember? Took about 15 to 20 minutes for our food to come out the waitress set my wife's fish and chips in front of her. She set my fish sandwich in front of me, and said will there be anything else? I said yes please scratch the soup I ordered, the shocked look on her face said it all, "I'll go get it right now", um NO I wanted an appetizer, not soup and sandwich. 2 of 3 items The fish and chips were as good as they always are, however, the fish sandwich was below par and had a weird Spice in the batter that I didn't care for. I ate half of it and left the rest. my wife was full after eating one of the two pieces of fish so I finished off the other piece. The fries used to be steak cut, they used to be great. Now they went to some weird curly thin cut, which are easily overcooked. In my opinion the spicy pickles and jalapeños were dry and over fried. The bill came to $42, for which I would have left a 18% tip $7.5, divide that by 3 (items) I left $5 tip, 2 out of 3. I don't think we'll be coming back. So sad we used to love this place. But in this day and age, no one cares.
