DON'T GO HERE. I have no idea how this place gets such great reviews. I am starting to think they wrote them themselves. I went here recently after seeing such great reviews and ended up with a horrible rash all over my body within hours of getting the massage. This was days before my wedding and I was freaking out. I have been to countless massage places in the city and have never had an issue with a place. They rub towels into your body for the first 15 minutes of the massage and I am wondering if there was something they wash the towels with that was irritating. It is also possible that the oils and lotions that they use are not natural like they claim. I have to stay on medication through my wedding to make sure that the rash doesn't come back. I don't normally post reviews, but after seeing all of the positive reviews here, I had to say something. read more

The staff was nice and check in was fast and easy. There are no rooms, it's just separated by curtains. Not much privacy. The massage was horrendous. It left my husband with bruises on his back. When the masseuse asked how he would like the pressure, he told her medium. Her response is "I don't know medium. I only know hard." That's ridiculous. We will not be returning. read more

I found Spa Mai on Groupon. They had a 60 min full body massage w/ hot stones for $30. I bought 2, one for me & one for my boyfriend. We made an appointment for 8pm. We ended up arriving early, and they helped us out quickly. I only paid $6 extra because of the tax - which was totally fine. We got undressed (leaving our underwear on, bras off for women) We were able to stay in the same room together, which was very spacious. It was extremely quiet, and the music was tranquil. What I enjoyed the most was the hot stones that rubbed with the lotion they use on the body; it felt absolutely amazing! My masseuse was named Tina, and I thought she was great. It was my first time getting a massage, and she kept asking me if I was okay, and how it felt - wonderful experience because of that! Only reason why I'm giving 4 stars is because my boyfriend recently got his back tattooed, and one part was scabby. He told his masseuse to use hot stones, but not on the scabby part (which was small) she ended up not giving him hot stones at all. Maybe it was the language barrier, but I was disappointed because the massages were a gift from me to my boyfriend, and he really wanted to have hot stones because he's never had them before. That was the only negative thing I had to say. Other than that - I'd totally recommend this place because originally their prices are cheap, and its $45 for a 60 min massage! read more

I went to Spa Mai last night as a first time customer, as I purchased a Groupon. I can't tell you how happy I am that I purchased the groupon and found Spa Mai. I had a 75 minute full body massage with hot stones and I walked out feeling so relaxed and relieved and I actually booked another appointment for 2 weeks from now. It's a smaller area down some stairs on Broadway (off Canal) but WHAT A FIND. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the ambiance is very relaxing.
