Couple of weeks ago my friend and co-worker noticed the signage for massages and reflexology. We went online to their website and each booked and appoint for one hour reflexology foot massage for a week and a half in advance. We were really looking forward to giving this spa a try as it is a block from our office. We show up yesterday at 12:30, the time of reservation, to fine one person who spoke no English and had no clue about our appointment. We did receive and acknowledgement email about our appointment. The one person in the facility (which seemed very nice, by the way) stopped giving massage to the person she was working in and got owner on phone who told me to make another appointment. Hmmm. I don't think so! This business, which claims to be open 24/7, is not going to make it if this is their way if doing business. read more

Great value for a $35 1hr foot massage in a 24/7 midtown location while sitting on a lazy boy chair. My masseuse was courteous and met my expectations of being hospitable. To be honest, I'm a foot massage connoisseur and while the facility and massage itself was above average for $35, it was in bad taste to post a sign at Reception, and subject customers to a $10 minimum gratuity. That's almost 30% for this particular service. Isn't the standard still 15-20%? Unfortunately, that left me very disappointed after a good massage, and currently do not plan on returning or recommend to others until that rule changes. Yes, you can get a comparable $30 foot massage in Chinatown, which includes a 10 minute back rub, but in Chinatown or anywhere else in NY, I've never seen such signage regarding gratuity. So I hope management reconsiders this house rule. If that happens, I may return. read more

Great find, was staying nearby and came across spa 45. No frills or bells and whistles, just a nice clean spa with hardworking folks. Really enjoyed the deep tissue massage and especially the hot stones and walking on the back treatment (name escapes me). read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. DISHONEST scammy place. Second time they shorted my massage and denied it. Most people probably have no idea. Happened the first time I went and the actual massage wasn't bad so I figured I wasn't right. This time I looked at the time. They denied the whole thing. Even pulled up video footage and realized I was right and still denied it. They let people walk in and out of the room while you are undressed. Go ANYWHERE else!! read more

I went to Spa 45 for a quick 30 minute massage. The masseuse that I received had a pretty severe cold and stopped 10 times (no exaggeration) to sneeze and blow his nose. Not hygienic. Not cool. I went through with the entire massage but only tipped him $3 (the massage was $30 altogether) which is more than I thought he deserved based on the service. When I was leaving, the receptionist stopped me to tell me I needed to tip at least $5-- at which point I told her that my masseuse sneezed and coughed all over me and I wouldn't tip anymore for that reason. My first issue is the bad (uncleanly) service. My second is that the receptionist had the audacity to tell me I needed to tip more. Think I'll stick to my usual spa in Midtown. read more

This place was across the street from our hotel, the Club Quarters, Grand Central. We both had an excellent reflexology treatment. The staff were very competent and friendly, the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant; overall, the place is highly recommended. By the way, important to note that the place is open 24/7, which is a great feature, when you are in the "city that never sleeps". This place is the go-to for massage (for me) and my wife (she gets facials as well). The people here are well trained professionals that really work hard, and the facilities are clean and spacious. My wife, in particular, is very fussy about bathrooms being clean, and this place is all good with her. As far as the massages go, I always go for the hard version which starts with back/leg walking to really loosen you up. That is usually followed with more of a Swedish style with unscented massage cream and then hot stones. What I really like is that they do stretches of the arms, legs and back similar to Thai massages elsewhere, which are always way more expensive for some reason. And for $45 for an hour ($65 for 90 minutes), holy cow what a great deal! I think my wife's facials are $65. Myself, I always bring cash to avoid credit card fees (I always pay cash at gas stations for the same reason). The people whining about the credit card fee should bring cash or put a lid on it. With regard to the tipping: I leave $20/$25 for an hour massage and still consider it a bargain considering the competition. Last time my wife got both a facial and a massage and left a $40 tip and later said she felt bad because the woman worked so hard on her that she thought she should have given her more. As for the people throwing around the gratuitous (look it up) "racist" chant, people are starting to tune that out. Take a look in the mirror and ask why these foreigners come here to work so hard and end up needing to implement a mandatory tip rule. I am here from Bristol (GB) visiting my friends. My black friends were pointed towards the sign that said minimum tip $10. I wasn't told anything about a tip. I'm so disgusted at the service. They were swindled into $15 in charges before I just said forget it. We looked on Groupon and found a much better place. Never again... I'm contacting the BBB. First, you can't REQUIRE a tip. That is illegal. Secondly, you either take credit cards or you don't. You cannot add $5 more and say if you use credit card you pay tax... it's illegal. Find a place worthy of your dollar. read more

I frequent massage parlors often and thought I'd give this place a try especially since they stay open 24 hours.The facility was nice but the massage was average. There was no rhythm and no technique used by my massage person. That and she didn't have the strength to keep a good constant pressure for the entirety of the session. I'd use them again if I can't get to my other spots before closing. They're not worth being at the top of that list. read more

Andy is great! This place is open 24/7. It's legitimate with no hanky panky. I was there when someone called to ask, and the woman who answered was bothered that they asked and was quick to tell him no! To each their own, but I'm personally happy to know certain bodily fluids will not be on the furniture that I'm on too. The place is big, clean, and shiny hardwood floors. Private rooms. Common foot massage area. Entrance has an elevator to the 3rd floor where the elevator opens up to the spa. They dont have a frequency card, but they do offer packages that will provide a discount. I have had many a massage (body and foot), and I have even had cupping. Never, ever disappointed. Always satisfied and feeling great. Andy is a master. Body and foot massage is a absolutely incredible. He listens, cares about what pressure you prefer, and is very intuitive!! I love this place and will keep coming back!! read more

I had very stiff neck and shoulders from working/sitting overnight so I decided to treat myself and went in here on Saturday around dinner time. The inside was surprisingly clean and spacious. I got my massage from a guy and my neck, back, and shoulders feel so much better I cannot thank enough. 30$ for half an hour massage is hard to find, especially in midtown east. Coming here was some what of a mistake, i only have one thing to compliment about and two things to complain about. I came here with my husband after midnight and they take us to their couples which i think is a nice place and then they come back and tell my husband he has to pay first and that the massage will be 5 dollars extra from the 45 because we came after midnight. My massage was great my husbands was horrible she rushed out on him before my massage was even done. Beware, they say suggested but really mean mandatory, because she had the girls standing there with their hands out wanting more. So first let me debunk the 10 dollar tip minimum rule. Not true! I too came expecting to be hassled for a tip at the end but I was not, the receptionist didn't say one word to me, she just sat there and smiled, because of this I did give the 10 dollar tip, because it was earned. Sophia gave me the BEST massage that 45 dollars could ever buy. She was so good that I didn't want it to end, I was literally in heaven through the entire experience! I cannot believe this place is not more well known, but I am glad, it'll be our little secret. The place is stunning, very clean, nice music, low lights. Sophia is PROFESSIONAL, her technique, unmatched! I've been too many massage parlors and I know a professional when I see one! Oh and not to mention I called many places this day to get a last minute appt, spa 45 was the ONLY place to take me right away, 15 minutes after calling. I especially love that the front desk associate eagerly took the 10 dollars from the register to prepare for Sophia, it was like she wanted her to be tipped!! I was soooo pleased. I've finally found my massage place in the city. I called at 3 and asked for an appt at 4:30 and walked right in. It was nice and clean. Small, simple rooms, but CLEAN. My girl didn't understand simple english, but she had the perfect pressure. Its cheap enough too that you can still leave a good tip and walk out with spend less than $60. I will be going to this place at least 2 times per month and recommending it to all my friends! read more

Great price for the foot massage! No wait as I made an appointment over the phone. I tried their online appointment service, it doesn't work. Obviously it is a Chinese massage parlor so don't expect to have much decor. I just love the price and the convenience! Right next to grand central and a bubble tea place hahaa, so I had my massage then bought a bubble tea for my train ride home. Since it is only 35, so I tipped the masseur 10$, that's just a little over minimum hourly wage. So I don't know why people complain about the minimum tip....if just tipping in accordance to the 20% of the service price..that would just be 6 dollars. anyway, I think they probably did a bad job on communicating the minimum tips. If it was communicated in advance, then it wouldn't attract so many negative reviews. It all boils down to 45 bucks for a foot massage including tips for an hour. To me, that's a great deal!! This place is very strange. The elevator is super sketchy so I took the stairs up. The place is not clean. I had a very bad cold and a cough already, which was exacerbated by the dusty place. My masseuse spoke no English and pressed really hard. It was not a bad massage. She worked dilligently, but it was very awkward given the lack of ability to communicate; and be heard and understood. She never introduced herself or asked about problem areas. I also could sense that she was miserable. Images of college courses on global feminism took me back in time. I spent more time during the massage thinking about how badly this woman was paid, taken advantage of, and her struggle than just being able to relax. Unfortunately, now I see prior reviews that these workers are not paid any hourly wage and survive only on tips. This is illegal and not okay!! I would be miserable too, if that was the situation. I believe that this place is taking advantage of undocumented workers. And it makes me sad that people aren't even leaving ten dollar tips for an hour of service. After reading a few not-so-happy reviews I went in as a skeptic. Sophia who spoke some English gave me one of the best massages I have had a long time. The place is clean and is conveniently located close to Grand Central. I will definitely return many times over. As a side note, many of these workers are paid minimum wages. I went for 1 hour foot message. I forget the guy's name but he did a good job though at times more painful than pleasant when he kneaded the sole of my foot. He barely spoke any English so he couldn't tell me about the tensions he felt and which parts of my body they came from. Will not go here again. I wanted to take my friend out for her birthday to get facials together, but at the last minute I decided to do a massage instead. I was excited to find a place that offered both services. Their facility was nice and clean, and the people were pleasant. They put us in the double room so we were able to chat the whole time we were getting our treatments--it was such a nice environment to get caught up! Three of us went for the 60 minute foot massage. Two of us had excellent service but my massage therapist started falling asleep, halfway through massaging my first foot! What!? I kept jiggling my foot to wake him up because he kept nodding off and he'd stop massaging. That was really awkward and kind of stressed me out but I have to say, it still felt great, while he was awake and massaging my feet. All three of us agreed that a foot massage in the city, is the way to go, when you're doing a lot of walking! I'll give 4 stars and hope none of you get my guy. read more

So the massage was really outstanding. I had a really stiff neck and Linda was very effective in working out my knots. However, her English was not good at all, so communicating with her was difficult but not impossible. As an example, she asked me if it was "OK to Walk". I thought she was asking me if I was able to walk. I answered, "Yes". In fact, she was asking if it was OK to walk on my back. The next thing I knew she was doing just that. It was great and I would have been fine with it anyway, but this is a perfect example of why the weak English skills could be an issue. My husband and I were looking for somewhere to get a foot massage after a week visiting the city. This place was just what we were looking for! You have to go knowing that it's not going to be a 4 season's spa, but it is your typical foot spa. The deal was great. $35 for a 60 minute reflexology foot massage. This also included about a 10 or 15 min shoulder to start and hot stone massage to our legs and feet. Our massage therapists were excellent and very professional. The chairs are comfortable and the atmosphere relaxing. They did not pressure us into tipping at all, but we were very happy to for doing such a great job. I frequent this facility often, it is two blocks from my work and apartment. Pros: the place is clean, pretty spacious and comfortable, open 24/7. There is one masseuse i really like. Cons: 1: The massage is a hit or miss, i've gotten really good, mediocre and terrible massages here depending on the masseuse. 2: they always walk out and LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN while you are naked on the table! CLOSE THE DOOR!!! I've ask multiple masseuse on multiple occasions to close the door, they all do it, i can't understand why they don't get it, i'm naked!! Close the damn door! 3: most of them are rough, its not exactly relaxing because they are either rolling down your spine with their elbow and you have to tell them to stop because it hurts, attempting to crack your back (no thanks) or SCRUBBING the oil off you with the towel and taking your skin along with it, most of them are very heavy handed, there is nothing relaxing about the massage you will get here. read more

Sharing experiences like these is why Yelp exists! The guy who gave my massage had a runny nose and kept rubbing his nose with his hand - not a tissue - and then continuing to massage me. I asked him if he was sick, but he said he didn't speak English. I pointed to my nose and he said, "Heat." Sure enough, I ended up getting a bad cold after being there. I gave him a 20% tip despite being grossed out by him rubbing his nose with his hand, and he and the owner shouted at me that I had to give a 30% tip minimum. I said a tip wasn't required, and 20% was already a lot, especially given the runny nose. They followed me to the elevator shouting. read more
