I enjoyed my visit to Spacca Napoli. The interior is a classic dine-in pizzeria, which I appreciated. Pizzas are about ~$20-$25 per person. You could probably split an appetizer and a pizza between two people for lunch and be satisfied. There are many creative varieties of pizzas, which can satisfy a spicy, savory, meaty, veggie, or accented with sweetish items cravings. Service was quick and attentive. read more

The good is we were able to reserve a table in advance. The bad: The pizza was just okay. A bit cool and soggy. Service felt rushed even though there were empty tables around. The peeve is asking for a Sauvy B bottle of wine to go with one pizza and salad then getting served a mediocre white table wine at $75/bottle. Ambiance was noisy and warm temp with crowded tables. This was not our first rodeo; we've been here several times over the years. Not sure we'll ever return. read more

I love Italian style pizza so I knew I had to try Spacca Napoli after seeing so many people raving about it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was no wait on a Saturday afternoon and the pizza also came out pretty fast. We shared the Funghi e Salsiccia ($20) and it was plenty for both of us as the pies are huge! The dough is the perfect thickness and its nice and chewy. You can tell that the ingredients are all super fresh and everything paired so well together. It was the perfect lunch and I wish I lived in Chicago so that I could come more often! I know this place is really popular so I recommend making a reservation especially if you're coming in a big group. I also wish I was hungrier so that we could've gotten a couple of pies to try different ones, but I was a big fan of the mushroom and meatball combo. Highly recommend this spot! This year we kept our 8th anniversary low key and played tourist in our neighboring city for the day. After a fun day downtown, we had early dinner at Spacca Napoli. It's been several years since my last visit to Spacca Napoli and the pizza remains excellent. The pizzas are large enough to be shared if you order an appetizer. We started off with the Octopus (Pulpo e Fagioli). It came with a side of bread and together it was so delicious. We would reorder that in a heartbeat. My husband and I have varied preferences when it comes to ordering our pies. I like tomato based sauces. He does not. I ended up ordering my typical favorite, sausage and mushroom pizza (Funghi e Salsiccia) and Ben got a ham and cheese (Prosciutto e Rucola). We both enjoyed our pizzas and had enough to take home afterwards. They have indoor and outdoor patio seating. Our server was awesome and was very attentive. With the weather being nice, we opted to dine outside. Halfway through our meal we shared our dining space with a cute family of finches nearby. Eating outdoors requires sharing space with nature and its creatures. Given this was the case we were more than happy to oblige. The restaurant is in the Ravenswood neighborhood and can be found along the UP-North Metra line. Parking is hit or miss but if you're traveling on the UP-N Metra, get off on the Ravenswood stop. So. Good. The pizza I've tried here is unlike anything I've had in the city. What we ordered: Burrata: A MUST. Very simple but so good. The burrata is incredibly creamy and delicious, and the lightly drizzled olive oil adds to the flavor when eaten with the bread. Prosciutto e Rucola: Light and delicious. The pizza does not taste or feel too greasy at all. The Napoli style pizza was floppy - loved it. Overall, we had an amazing time here. The server was also very attentive. The day we met the weather was absolutely perfect about 70 degrees & sunny. Spacca Napoli has a beautiful outdoor dining area so we decided to eat outside. The interior is just as cool w/ I love my pizza deep dish, thin crust, Detroit style pizza & am open to trying new types of pizza. My buddy ordered a pizza w/beets, walnuts, kale & ricotta. I ordered sausage, mushrooms & Anchovies on 1/2 ( I had to try the anchovies). I wasn't very impressed by the pizza. The oven baked dough was too soft for my preference. The anchovies added a saltiness that I kind of liked but overall I wasn't very impressed by the pizza. Beautiful restaurant, excellent outdoor dining area & service, but the pizza was jus mehhhh. Spacca Napoli has been named one of the best pizza restaurants in the world, and once I learned this I had to stop by to try it for myself when I had the chance. I ordered the Margarita and Funghi e Salsiccia. I wanted to try the Margarita pizza in order to taste Spacca Napoli's pizza at its most basic - tomato, basil, and cheese. There wasn't anything special with this one and it wasn't doing it for me, and did not have the floppy center Neapolitan pizza is known for. The real star of the show in terms of flavor was the Funghi e Salsiccia. Not to mention, the dough was excellent on this one and had the floppy element I was looking for. Stellar Napoli pizza! Some of the best pizza I've had a in a long while! Stopped in bring the Ravenswood ArtWalk and got on the waitlist - we were told 35-40 mins so we checked out some. Ore of the fest and luckily got seated in just over 20. We were seated outside, the weather was amazing, and our server promptly greeted us - he was really lovely. Got us situated and gave us the run down of the specials for the day. And of course, we started with one of the specials of the day, a beet salad. I'm not usually a big fan of beets but i figured I'd give it a go and I really enjoyed it. The beets were sweet and tender, nice pops of lardons and cheese and crisp pieces of radicchio served with some crostinis. It was light and flavorful. Off to a 5 star start. We selected one of their regular menu pizzas, the prosciutto, and one of the specials for the day which had Shishido peppers. With the pizzas we went with a couple of Peroni's - which were served with ice cold glasses. The pizzas took around 20 ish mins to come out which was perfect and are served uncut. You slice your own, which tbh, I really liked. The crust is is wonderful. It held up the toppings with out drooping while being, light, and had a great chew. I like the special Shishido pepper and tomato pizza a lot. I'd give that a 4/5, but I LOVED the prosciutto and arugula pizza. I would eat a whole one of those on my own, if I could! Solid 5/5. We also had our fill of red pepper flakes and chili oil. Both were fantastic enhancers to both pizzas. Definitely not necessary, but I love spice and it elevated the pizzas flavor even further. I loved dipping the crust in the chili oil too. I can't say enough good things about the service ambiance and the food. A fantastic visit and adding it into the standard must go rotation. read more

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was a stellar dining experience. We ordered the polpo e fagioli and the insalata eoliana as starters and two pizzas, the bianco di stefano and pistacchio. The polpo e fagioli was delightful, and the octopus wasn't overly chewy and was extremely buttery. Out of the two pizzas we ordered, my favorite of the two was the bianco di stefano - the flavors packed a punch and the smoked mozzarella / savory pancetta / truffle pecorino is a combo that will make you go in for another slice or two. Tonight's dinner was made even more special because our lovely waitress brought us out a tartufo with a candle on the house. The dessert itself was cacao-y and the gelato creamy and delicious. It was such a nice gesture and was a memorable way to end our meal. I'm excited to come back to Spacca Napoli in the future and would definitely want to order the polpo fagioli again as well as try some of the other pizzas on the menu! read more

Busy place! Highly recommend making a reservation even during the weekday. They have a nice outdoor seating area too when the weather is tolerable. The pizza itself comes out really fast though. The dough is delicious and chewy. We ordered salsiccia e broccoletti, bianco di stefano, and arancini. I enjoyed the broccoletti pizza the most, but it might not be palatable for some. The broccoletti had a sharp taste which I liked and would order again. The bianco di stefano was good as well, but the pancetta flavor was a bit overwhelming especially when I didn't get rosemary in my bite. Had dinner at Spacca Napoli on a busy Saturday evening. Despite the crowd, the service was friendly and attentive throughout. Started with the black truffle arancini and beet salad, both were fantastic. The arancini were rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and the beet salad was super fresh with a nice balance of textures. For the main, I went with the lamb pizza on multigrain crust. Unique and really well done tender lamb, great seasoning, and the multigrain crust added a nice nutty depth without overpowering the toppings. read more

The only reason Spacca has survived as long as it has, in its location, and through countless trials and tribulations is because it's phenomenal. A lesser pizza spot would've folded long ago- but not Spacca. Anybody who has been to Naples (Italy, definitely not Florida) will immediately recognize the texture, color, and flavors you get from a Spacca pie. I am not sure I can call it a hidden gem after so long, but it's certainly a treasure of Chicago that isn't given its due on a day to day basis. I got one of the pizza specials today that had lamb. It was good, but don't think I'd get it again. The crust is what I really enjoy about this pizza and it was spot on. Came here for the first time with a friend and we had an excellent meal. I'm gluten free and I chose this place because of its gluten free crust. Well- it blew me out of the water! Spongy, light, yet with a little crispy crunch- it was truly wonderful. My friend and I both got the special, a white pizza with prosciutto, fig, and brie. After having authentic Napoli pizza in Naples last fall, I can confirm Spacca Napoli is legit! We came on a warm Wednesday evening and were early enough to beat the dinner rush. It was so nice to be able to dine al fresco again! Spacca Napoli's patio is tucked away on Sunnyside and super gorgeous! Our server was Italian which added to the authenticity of the dining experience. I started with the Italian cola and wow...this was SO yummy! It's a reddish color, super bubbly, and very refreshing. To start, we ordered the caprese and arancini. The mozzarella on the caprese was out of this world fresh, I'm still thinking about it! It's served with delicious fresh baked bread drizzled in heavenly olive oil. The arancini is fried rice balls stuffed with cheesy goodness -- totally recommend these as well! We shared the margherita pizza and another one that was topped with spicy salami (I can't remember the name!). Both were delicious. Napoli style pizza is definitely on the floppy side (though the crust is crispy) and this was no different. I predict many more dinner dates here in the future! Spacca serves a Neapolitan style pizza with fresh ingredients and choice to compliment your meal with a variety of appetizers and a decently sized wine selection. The pizzas takes a little bit to come out , but I guess that's the push and pull when you're receiving food of this quality. Now the food... let me start off with the Caprese. The bruschetta was some of the softest I've ever had which was paired nicely with well seasoned tomatoes and Basil. The Polpo e fagioli was an octopus dish paired with grains and tomatoe. The octopus was nicely cooked with a slight crisp on the outside. We split the Diavola and Pistachio pizzas which were both delicious! I was pleasantly surprised with how they used the pistachios to make a creme based for a sausage heavy pizza - but it worked!! The Diavola was a little spicier piled on with a heavy pepperoni-esc sausage and basil hidden underneath. I really liked both and am so excited to try more of their huge pizza menu. The ambiance is very peaceful & just felt like a nice neighborhood place. We started with the burrata & it as truly the star of the meal??? Definitely best burrata I've had outside of Italy. I was really excited for the pizza & it was good! I got the mushroom (funghi) one & added arugula. It was good, but the crust lacked a bit of flavor for me. The cheese was really good though & it was still enjoyable. The aranchi is a great starter paired with the prosciutto and Parmesan salad to share. The pizza is great with the perfect chewiness. The Diavola was great for those who love meat and the pistachio pizza was also really good. I recommend ordering a few pizzas and sharing with the table. Remember, you can always have leftovers or order another pizza and it will come out quickly. I cannot wait to go back and try more since they have so many different varieties! The service was quick but just a reminder that it closes at 9:00pm so be ready for an "early" dinner. If you want enjoy food outside, they have a patio too! All in all I would return in a heartbeat. The atmosphere is welcoming and it's honestly kinda cool to see the staff cook your pizzas in their very own pizza oven. This restaurant doesn't have any Michelin stars but it deserves at least one, if not two or three. Spacca Napoli has exceptional pizza and service, and it was honestly the best pizza I've ever had. I have always loved Spacca Napoli for their amazing high quality pizzas, appetizers and desserts! I just discovered my new favorite pizza - the Pistachio pizza! WOW! Seriously it's so good. They make a pistachio cream that acts as the sauce of the pizza, making this pizza creamy and hearty along with the sausage. Like I will be ordering this pizza and this pizza alone for the the next few years haha! I also wanted to add that I went to Italy in September '22 and I even went to Naples - the heart of the Neapolitan style pizza. And I kid you not, it didn't compare to Spacca.
