I don't even know where to start this review. I've always heard this restaurant being advertised on the radio 94.7 The Wave, so since I was looking for a romantic jazz classy restaurant even though this is 2 hours away from where we live we came here for the very first time to celebrate our 18th year anniversary. This restaurant is very similar to Olive Garden except this one has a jazz show (with a fee). I verbalized my extreme disappointment where we were seated as I didn't expect after paying the seating fee of $212 (for a family of 4) to be seated by the entrance door of the restaurant where it's high-traffic, a lot of bystanders, and did I forget to mention very far from the stage? Although we got there 15 minutes before the show the place was already so full and over crowded (it's a first-come first-served basis on the seats). I asked the person in-charge of seating the guests (didn't get his name--maybe the manager?) if we can move to another table as there was another last open table by the wall infront of the stage which had a better view, but unfortunately he couldn't honor my request. This was the highlight of our night that ruined our mood and caused me to lose my appetite for the entire night (but my husband and kids ordered the 18 oz. Prime Bone-In Rib Eye and Shrimp Scampi which they said was alright). Let's talk about the show ft. Will Donato, I'm not sure if we even went to a comedy show or a jazz show because this guy was full of jokes like a comedian which we thought was funny but we were also kind of disappointed because we came here expecting to have a lovely romantic peaceful jazz dinner but it turned out to be a dancing/comedy jazz show. Like what I told my husband, I could've given this restaurant a very bad review because of all these, but the manager(?) and the servers (the main one was Vanessa) treated us with kindness and respect instead of dismissing our disappointments. They also had a little anniversary banner for our table, and treated us with bread, calamari, and meatballs. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, elegant, and inviting--perfect for a relaxing dinner. The place has that special blend of upscale yet comfortable vibes, with great lighting and a lively but not overwhelming energy. The food was delicious and clearly made with care. We started with a fresh salad and some appetizers that were bursting with flavor, then moved on to their signature pastas--perfectly al dente with rich, authentic sauces. Everything tasted homemade and high-quality, and the portions were generous enough that we had leftovers (which we happily enjoyed the next day!). Parking is plentiful as self-park. A Beautiful ambiance. The hosts/hostess were friendly. Nice wine selection and lounge. Had the special, prime-aged steak, asparagus, and potato with dinner salad. Dessert was included. For a fixed fare of $65. Started with a basket of focaccia, too much Rosemary! The dinner salad was mostly Romaine greens and croutons. The salad is tossed in a house Blu-Cheese dressing. The steak was charred ( burnt ) and had some seasoning, overdone for medium rare. Asparagus was 3 spears and not cleaned, so tough and stringy Asparagus was not a seasonal vegetable at the time of dining. (February) The asparagus would have been better served with a lemon or hollandaise sauce. (Cleaned & Cooked longer) The potatoes were the most pathetic offering on the plate. A couple of tiny red potatoes smashed on the grill, no flare no seasoning, no panache! The dinner plate was enormous for tiny portions. The dessert was stated as a Boston cream pie. What came out was a very heavy yellow cake covered with a chocolate ganache very dry. So for me when I'm going to spend this kind of money I want the food to be exceptional, especially coming from a fine dining location. Unfortunately, this is a no-go... If I were to ever come back I would try a more authentic Italian dish. So on an ADA note, they claim to have accessibility, however, they did ask for my guest to come through the back door outside around the building. Stating it was easier. 8/18/2025 We had an outstanding dinner at Spaghettini in Seal Beach. From start to finish, the food and service were excellent. We started with the Heirloom Tomatoes & Burrata ($26), which was absolutely outstanding and, for me, the highlight of the entire meal. The tomatoes were fresh and flavorful, paired perfectly with creamy burrata and a touch of balsamic. A must-order appetizer! For the main course, I had the Seafood Pasta ($52), which was delicious and extremely generous in portion size. It came loaded with lobster, shrimp, and jumbo lump crab, along with a flavorful light sauce. Honestly, it was probably large enough for two people to share comfortably. My friend ordered the Horseradish Crusted Wild Halibut ($52), and he couldn't stop raving about it. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and complemented with spinach and Yukon potatoes--it was another standout dish. We wrapped up the evening with dessert. I had the Butter Cake, which was rich, warm, and indulgent, while my friend went with the Affogato (espresso poured over vanilla ice cream), a simple but perfect ending. The combination of high-quality ingredients, beautiful plating, and attentive service made for a memorable dining experience. Let's start with the biggest issue, pricing. This place is unfortunately overpriced. A $20 martini that is, at best, on the smaller side. $44 for two samllish martinins (with 20% tip, of course) gives me pause. And this continues through the dinner menu as well. higher-end. A "tuna tower" of poke was totally missing anything that resembled a tower, It was close to the size of a round Altoids tin. This is good sized for Altoids, not for a $24 appetizer. It was good, not nearly as good as what you might get from an equivalent higher end restaurant in LA, but it was fine. The fish entrees were also good, but again, almost $50 for a nice piece of fish seems somewhat disconcerting. I assume they are trying ot make up for lossed during the pandemic, but as a short-term strategy, it gets in the way of the experience. WIth that said (or written as the case may be with), that is the end of the negatives. The service is very good and everybody is nice. Actually VERY nice. For such a large place, in the suburbs, the decor has a comfortable Italian country-ish feel. If you relgate this restaurant to being a place "for special occasions only", then fine. But to be a more regular destination. $45 with a tip for two small martinis is really pushing it. And that is too bad to me. BUt I honestly wish them all the best. read more

Walking into this restaurant is like walking into Tuscany. The staff that greeted was warm and familiar like one big family. I sat in the Bar at a nice large table near the stage. My server was cheery and very knowledgeable. She recommended that I started with a Blanton's Bourbon on the rocks since I told her I had a love for good bourbon. It was delicious. I then ordered a margarita pizza as an appetizer to split with the table. It was cooked perfectly in the wood burning oven. For the Main course I tried the horseradish crusted halibut, it was perhaps the most delicious fish I've ever had in my life. The table shared a side of spaghettini spinach, which had artichoke hearts and green olives, simple yet mind blowingly good. I paired this with a Glass of Patz and Hall Pinot Noir which my server recommended, she was on the ball in every aspect. As I was about two bites into my meal the live music started and Grammy nominated Dave Koz began seranading the intimate lounge with his saxaphone. Myself and the rest of my party felt like royalty. Just when we didn't think it couldn't get any better the head chef himself brought out a dessert for my sister because he heard that it was her birthday. I was very disappointed in their house wines. I tried both the pinot nior and the cabernet and both were very uninteresting at best. It really threw me off for a up-scale restaurant to not have at least a decent house wine offering. The place is very classy looking with a great decor and very good service as well, but outside of happy hour I think that it would be WAY too expensive for what they offer. During happy hour they have half price pizza, burgers and appetizers which make it a fairly decent value. It's a pretty tasty and good-sized individual pizza (I could see sharing it easily) and at $7 happy hour price it is worth it, but at the full $14? I think not. It's not that good. We also had one of their appetizer combo platters (normally $24!! but $12 during happy hour) and it was again--just ok. It had calimari, bruchetta and artichoke dip and was big enough to share with 2 people. The dip was pretty good not as good as Elephant Bar's but the calamari's batter was just odd (too much parmigiana in the batter masked the taste of the squid completely) and we didn't finish them. This is a place that I would only hit up at happy hour because the prices outside of 3-6p are just way to high for food that is just good and not great. read more

Service and Ambiance: terrific. fabulous. So FIVE STARS FOR THAT. Starters: amazing. FIVE STARS HERE. Drinks: hearty and delicious. FIVE STARS HERE. 3 out of 4 entrees: very good and none were pasta. FIVE STARS HERE. 1 entree, mine (and it was my birthday!) was truly horrible. I ordered the pappardelle bolognese. The sauce was passable and there was a lot of it. But the pasta. Oh, man, it was nothing but a large mound of completely over-cooked noodles stuck together with a trace of sauce coating them. (*) I jumped into the sauce sitting atop the mound and tried to add some of the pasta. But all I could do was cut through the mound. And that was no easy task because the noodles were glued to each other. Utterly inedible. I brought this to the attention of the server but all the House did was give me another serving of the same. That came late in the dinner so I took it home. But, alas, it was not any different: That same mound of over-cooked pasta and inedible. I tossed it. (*) It is seems the kitchen cooks pasta in advance and re-warms it. Even if that is not the case, the EC is not keeping an eye on the quality of the food exiting the kitchen. From the moment we sat down, Melissa made us feel welcome and right at home. It was our first time at Spaghettini, and Melissa went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was unforgettable. We really didn't have any expectations for Spaghettini, even though we've passed by countless times over the years. As locals, we had never been, but we decided to stop in for a nice, quiet lunch on Valentine's Day. And wow--what a fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. Our server, Dar, went above and beyond to make our first visit truly special. He even brought us a complimentary first-timers appetizer--a delicious little prosciutto bite that set the tone for the rest of the meal. We ordered sandwiches, and everything was absolutely perfect. The food was fresh and flavorful, the drinks were great (loved the heart-shaped ice for Valentine's Day!), and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. 5 Stars! I was looking for a good date night spot with my wife, my neighbor recommended me here and it was amazing! Our server Roberto made our night happen. Everything he recommended, including wine, was great. He recommended the crab cakes to start out with. Now, I have a thing for crab cakes, I've had really good one and really awful ones, usually the rest of the food is not good at restaurant for me if the crab cakes are bad, but the crab cakes here were so good that we had to order another order. We followed this up with Italian chopped salad, it was crisp and fresh, another of Roberto's recommendations. For mains, we tried the Seafood Pasta and the lamb chops, both very good but the lamb chops were the better of the two. For dessert we shared a tiramisu, we should've gotten one each because it was not enough for me. We will definitely be coming back as part of our regular rotation, we heard there was a show as well, it left me curious to come back soon. Love Love Love this place! I have been a regular for over 10 years and have never been disappointed! Food is always spot on and the Sea Bass and Pommery Shrimp is to die for and service is fantastic( most of the staff have been there since they opened!) After reading some of these reviews I just want to say that if you have a bad experience here it is your own fault. You will never find a restaurant that will bend over backwards like Spaghettinis to make sure that your food and drink is up to your standards. Prices may be high to some but that is what fine dining is anywhere !!! At least here you will see the owners and staff socialize with customers -know them by name and make you feel like one of the family! I come at Happy Hour when certain drinks and appetizers are 1/2 off as well as on Sundays when pastas and Italian wine bottles are 1/2 off when my budget is tight! Spaghettini has always been my favorite place where my sister and I and my friends have been going for years for brunch where we always get Jill as our server, she is our favorite person. We love her to the moon and back. She is so amazing !!! Jill always makes everyone feel so welcome the minute you walk in. Jills personality alone elevates the entire experience . Jill is always incredibly attentive and always making sure you are happy , having a great time, happy with the service, the food, the drinks and that things are running smoothly.
