Loved it, perfect for date night! Gorgeous decor, dimly lit, very nice new American decor. Our server was so fun to chat with and the Long Beach and San Fransisco night life. Liked my fish dish, wish I had gotten the duck (or taken more off of my boyfriend's plate), great wine selection, and the table side dessert was a great way to finish dinner before after dinner drinks.

I had a b'ness dinner at Skyroom at the Fairmont Breakers Hotel in LBC. There were positives & negatives. Positives: Marissa was an awesome waitress. She was knowledgable about the menu, and a pleasure to deal with; The hostesses were super nice. They held my bottle of wine while I used the restroom, and had a drink at the bar; The duck was excellent. The skin was crispy, and the meat was nicely seasoned & juicy; Secondarily, the oysters were very good. The raw oysters were fresh, and the cooked oysters were nicely seasoned; Negatives: Jenna was a terrible bartender. She took forever to acknowledge me, and took forever to make our drinks after my friend arrived. She made drinks for others that ordered after us. The hostess had to check on us twice, and I said we'll be ready as soon as we get our drinks; I was charged $3.75 extra for ordering a drink at dinner "neat". The alcohol is measured, so how can I be receiving more alcohol if my drink is neat vs w/ ice or mixed? I have never seen such an upcharge, and I travel around the country and the world; All in all a positive experience. There are other bars on the property (like Alter Ego downstairs). Perhaps next time I will have a drink at AE first before dinner vs the bar in the restaurant.

I loved our evening at the Sky Room! When you get off the elevator, you are immediately greeted with a beautiful mini exhibit on the history of the hotel and the restaurant. I loved reading all about their past, and how they have honored the story of the restaurant in the newly renovated space. The restaurant itself is luxurious and moody. We were originally taken to a room in the back that was oddly plain, so I asked if we could have one of the empty booths in the main area, and our host let us snag that table instead. We were celebrating, so we went for the wagyu beef Wellington as well as the Parker house rolls and caesar salad. It was all incredible, definitely the best beef Wellington I've ever had. And the mashed potatoes!!! I must say, the rolls and cultured butter were great..... but when you are spending so much money no matter what you order, it felt a little silly to charge $6 for rolls. Just toss us a bone here! I promise everyone wants 'em! The service was pretty exceptional. I asked for black pepper on my mashed potatoes, and 20 minutes or so later, I served myself another scoop of potatoes from the family-style dish. Within 10 seconds, our server miraculously re-appeared with the pepper grinder to top my second portion. I was blown away by the attention to detail. We finished up with the bananas fosters to really get the full experience, and it did not disappoint! I think every meal should finish with a little flambé.

A Perfect Anniversary Celebration We celebrated our anniversary here, and it was a standout experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional; our waiter was informative and friendly without being overly chatty, allowing us to focus on our dinner and the spectacular view of the city. The food was truly excellent. Every dish was prepared with the utmost attention to detail, and the dessert provided the perfect conclusion to the meal. Beyond the dining room, we discovered two hidden gems: a lively rooftop bar with a DJ and an intimate jazz club in the lobby. Both added a unique layer to the evening. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to plan a special night out.

What a great place to celebrate any occasion at Sky Room. Amazing atmosphere, great service, and fabulous food! We were celebrating birthday and we orders bunch of different plates to try out. For appetizers: Steak Tartare- great flavors. Broccoli - prepared to its perfection; nice crunch and good sauce. Cabbage - well cooked topped with bacon and excellent dressing. Crab cakes - can't describe.. it was excellent! Squash Risotto - for being a vegetarian dish it was amazing. Mushrooms on it were to die for. Beef Wilmington - this dish was made to its perfection. Gotta give it to the chef how well this is mastered! Absolutely loved this dish. Highly recommended. Over all, amazing experience and I will be coming back to try other dishes on their menu.

Here is Rebecca doing her thing. She obviously has experience as a mixologist. She made great recommendations !

The Breakers hotel in Long Beach is a gem that I recently discovered. On the 13th floor, there's a fantastic bar lounge with breathtaking views of the Long Beach Harbor. The service here was exceptional. Rebecca and Yarely, the bartenders, were incredibly attentive and friendly. They checked on me frequently, ensuring that my drinks were always impeccable. Their smiles were infectious, making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying their Caesar salad. It was truly remarkable and unlike anything I've ever had before. If you're visiting Long Beach, make sure to head to the Breakers and visit the 13th floor after 5 PM. You won't regret it!

Shoutout to Amex FHR benefits for giving us the opportunity to dine-in at the Sky Room while staying at the Fairmont Breakers! There weren't any available walk-in tables but luckily, the bar is open seating and you can order off of the same menu. The dress code is elegant casual so guys just have to have a collared shirt and long pants. We ordered just enough to hit the $100 dining credit and that included the Parker House Rolls and Cultured Butter, Sky Room Caesar, and Wagyu Flat Iron. Overall, the food was surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant. The rolls came with two and were super soft and fluffy. The wagyu steak was very tender and well flavored. Definitely on the pricier end and we probably wouldn't have visited if it weren't for the FHR benefits but I can see it being a nice date spot or a place to celebrate life milestones.

This place was excellent. Located at the top of the Fairmont Breakers Hotel, the Sky Room is elegant and romantic with awesome views of Long Beach all around the restaurant. Even the customers were dressed to the nines, clearly understanding the assignment. We started with whiskey sours and old fashioneds both of which were delicious and strong. We also tried the crudités which consisted of seasonal root vegetables on ice and a green goddess dressing. It was weirdly beautiful and really good. For entrees we had the short rib with chimichurri which was sooooo good. It was tender and full of flavor. One of the best that I've had. As for dessert, we had tinted the banana foster which is prepared table side. It was so yummy, sweet, and caramelly. I was surprised with a very rich and chocolatey cake as a birthday treat. It was also very good but we were too full to finish it. I was really pleased with our dining experience here. I definitely recommended it and I would absolutely return.

We made a reservation through OpenTable to celebrate a new job and had heard great things about this place from foodie friends, but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. Our reservation was for 8:30 and we were explicitly asked to arrive at 8:15, which we did. Despite this, we were asked to wait another 45 minutes due to poor seating management and weren't seated until around 9:10 -- a disappointing start. Once seated, our server was professional and knowledgeable, explaining the menu well and offering solid recommendations. That said, given how busy it was (Saturday night), the overall service pace was slow. For a restaurant at this price point, I'd rate service around a 2.5-3 out of 5. The food itself was very good, but delays -- especially with our wine -- took away from the experience. While our celebration was verbally acknowledged with a congratulations, for a top-tier restaurant with a nearly $500 bill for two people, we would have expected a small gesture, such as offering a comped dessert, to truly elevate the experience. The ambiance and potential are there, but the execution fell short overall. Personally, I wouldn't return and would opt for other restaurants that deliver a more consistent high-end experience.

Great setting and view of Long Beach from atop the Fairmont Breakers. Modern high end interiors. Friendly and attentive staff. Small menu but difficult to decide. We like trying out as much as possible so orderwd two appetizers and two entres to share. The chicory salad was dwlicious although on the smaller side, I could have had double the serving. So was the steak tartare, but seasoning was on point. The duck breast was extra crisp and a surprisingly portion which we were not able to finish. The shirt rib was very rich. Too full to have desert.

Another part of our fabulous stay at the Fairmont Breakers was a dinner at Sky Room. Had never been to the hotel or any bars here and I was definitely missing out! The room is so beautiful, at the top floor and dimly lit, with comfy chairs and benches. At night, you can see out of the tall windows to the harbor and the Queen Mary and the other sites. We had a table all the way at the end, near the kitchen doors and a more limited view, so that was disappointing, but we still had much of a view so def. not a big issue. Our server helped us right away and offered many suggestions related to the menu. I'm not a big meat eater so I opted to order several side dishes, and my guy got a steak dinner. Portions pretty small as you can see in the photo (esp for the prices!) but the food was delicious! I wouldn't recommend the rolls and butter for $6, that should have definitely been included in the price of dining there. The carrots were so good, and the potatoes were fire. I wouldn't go back as the menu wasn't that thrilling for me, but I def recommend to try it once.

*All* the tableware was gorgeous. I would have taken this charger plate home if I could have!

I've been wanting to try out the newly renovated Sky Room for a while now so I took my wife, son and d-in-law for a pre-Christmas dinner. We had a great experience overall. Food, service, cocktails, and the views were all exceptional. We never felt rushed, but staff were on-hand for any questions when something came up. I'd highly recommend the Bananas Foster table side. That was special! Between the four of us we had scallops, steak, duck, and fish. We got a couple of orders of their Parker House rolls, and a couple of cocktails also. If you're into bourbon I recommend the Sky Room Old Fashioned - remarkable. I will not hesitate to return.

Came here in October for my friend's birthday dinner, and it was awesome. Started with a dirty martini with blue cheese olives, and it was great. Really all the food, including the fish I got was stellar. They gave us a private room with amazing service and views, since we had a decently large group. Highly recommend for a date night or a special occasion.

Ask the Community - Sky Room

    Is there a corkage fee?

I was informed by a friend that dined there that it is $50.00 per bottle, with 2 bottles maximum allowed.

Is there anything done for dinners on special occasions? I have a Wedding Anniversary coming up and dinner reservations at your restaurant.. Thank you.

Yes, just call ahead. They had a dessert for my friend's bday.

Is the dance floor still around for dinner and dancing?

I didn't see a dance floor, but there is a rooftop and DJ and downstairs has a bar and sometimes a live band.

Is there a dress code? Are ties and jackets required?

Don't need a jacket and tie, but business casual is a smart choice.

Do they allow for walk in's for only drinks at the bar?

Yes, they do. Also, you might get a table if someone with a reservation doesn't show up.

    Is there still dancing?

There isn't really room for that in the restaurant. There is a rooftop bar on the 14th floor, Halo, with music over speakers and lots of space in the outdoor patio section.

It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

Meaning, we were spending time together and just moving through the interaction, like clothes in a spin cycle. But going here made our time together mean something more because we had arrived at a space that elevated our mood and spirits. So we were now feeling the suds and splashes of the movement not just in the monotony of the spin. As we entered, I felt like the place was a Chinese Market but indoors. I have never bene to China (I have yet to die so maybe one day my feet will have the chance to step the Great Wall) but I feel like their street vendors would have stands like the seating motif within the main room of this joint. The place was not packed but there was no space within the wooden booths for Conrad and I. I asked for options, and they showed me two different rooms. The first room was the Hao Pen You room which was heavilty yet beautifully decorated with varying red lanterns in the ceiling. Additionally, there was a paper dragon hanging in the ceiling, swimming in the air amidst the lanterns. The host ushered me in, and milaseconds after I felt a quick sense of awe. Not like the one I felt one I saw the Sisteen Chappel, but one that compelled me to snap quick photos of the aerial view. The host understood. She stopped her explanation to give me the space to feel my wow that was delivered in a red envelope. I eventually decided to sit in this room, so there is more detail that I can deliver, but before I do, I did request to see the other room of the house. So we crossed the room with the wooden booths and stepped into an immersive Tiki Bar that gave shipwreck vibes. Like the survivors of shipwreck took what they could from the boat's carcass, and made a great bar in the beach that glowed with the light of jellyfish and had seaweed on the ceiling as decoration that was not stale like mistletoe on a doorway. When Conrad and I sat in the Hao Pen You room, we learned that it was a quasi speak easy. According to history, in the 1800's it was common for Chinese immigrants to visit gambling and opium dens behind laundry rooms to find a space that they could call their own and escape discrimination. I am sure that dens of the past did not have the blazing style of the room I was sitting in, but I did appreciate learning about the history that inspired the room. Only because the pain of the past was reshaped to honor a culture in theatrical and edgy red. Plus, as one of my pictures show, the dragon's face and laser lit eyes, made it seem like a real creature born to this earth, not one simply reserved for myth and Game of Throne episodes. I appreciated the immersive trip to Chinese's lore and history. The reason why I did not give this place 5 stars, was the food. The food in general was (maybe tragically) basic. Conrad did not confirm this fact until we were outside the restaurant. I asked him why did he not share his feelings with our server when she asked? He explained why would he, she did not cook the food, and she could not do anything? And I am from the camp, where honesty matters but I guess it might only matter to me? He might be right what does honest feedback do for a server? Conrad might have been practicing "restaurant politeness" like keep the situation civil because if one becomes a demanding patron or eater then one breaks the social contract and becomes rude. Specifically, Conrad and I had the Vegan Dumplings, the pork buns, and rice wrapped in leaves. And even though we had different bites, and each one had their own flavor profile at the end I can only describe each bite as basic. That is my opinion, and I stand by it, as I should, as every one should. Perhaps this restaurant owns this identity. This might be a place that offers theatrical atmosphere, great drinks, vibes that make a Tuesday special, but their food might be the area that remains standard, and in the final score card the servers of the joint might be ok with that.

I'm always surprised when they're empty; the food is so good! Fresh, high quality and delicious. And the cocktails are some of the best in Long Beach. On top of that, they have a unique selection of tequilas and mezcals. Super underrated spot. Service is always pretty good to great! We usually get some excellent servers. Friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Definitely must try the ribeye taco, sopes and octopus if you want something smaller. The ribeye steak, whole fish or leg of lamb are also outstanding. Some items come with their homemade, blue corn tortillas. So yummy. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend! Parking can be a challenge, as is normal in the area. Don't let that discourage you!

The service was friendly and attentive, although it was a little slower than expected. We started with cocktails. I ordered the Pocho, made with Amaras Verde Mezcal, Bourbon, pina, guanábana, lime. The drink was enjoyable and unique, with tropical flavors that worked well together, although it was not quite as balanced as I expected. My fiancée ordered the Paloma Blanca, and it was excellent, awell-crafted cocktail. One of the highlights of the meal was the Tacos Dorados. With crema, and avocado emulsion was absolutely delicious. The flavors immediately reminded me of the potato tacos my mom used to make when I was growing up. The mushrooms added a rich depth of flavor. We also ordered the Arrachera, a 10-ounce Black Angus skirt steak served Anaheim pepper hand-pressed heirloom blue corn tortillas. The steak was flavorful and well seasoned, although it was slightly more underdone. Overall, the food was very good, and the atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable. While the pricing felt a little high for some of the portions, the quality of the ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and memorable flavors made it a restaurant we would gladly return to. The Tacos Dorados alone are worth coming back for and also to try all other dishes like the pulpo.

Honestly thought it was the bar that we came inside. First impression, why did we need reservations.... Since we didn't know the hidden entrance. Well, it's a cool concept once we entered. There's a dress code so be advised. What I found out was the entrance of the speakeasy was through a phone booth that next to the pool table of Roxanne's bar. Once reservations is made, you'll received an email with a password to enter. Enter phone booth and to connect to the inside and they'll open the door for you. We had the first reservations I believe they opened at 7pm. We were the first group to arrive. As it was my first time, we had ordered bar food and were waiting for it inside the main bar. So half an hour was used from our time limit. The speakeasy, dark and moody but perfect for the place. Special crafted cocktails by the bartenders which were great. They also have food as well, found out later. We did try the meat pie, which it was just ok. Basically an empanadas, the pickle veggies accompanied it was my favorite. It was good but nothing major to rave about. The drinks were quite nice and tasty. What they offered on the menu did have a load of good choices. Tables scattered throughout as well as bar seating. There's a piano which maybe used for live music. Overall, the moody speakeasy vibe was great. Friendly staff and bartender made some great drinks. What we had to snack on, the meat pie was just ok. They're very strict with the time limits. Once it's reached they'll let you know.
