First off, I need to say that this food is a solid 4.5. It tastes as if these guys used to be a taco truck that did so well they opened a stationary location and never lost quality (at least not yet). Unfortunately, they really need to get better with giving me all my food or getting my order right. I come here pretty often, about 2-3 times a month. Almost every time I go, something is either forgotten or wrong about my order. The food also takes longer than they say they do, so keep that in mind. These issues seem trivial, but if it happens every time, it gets a little annoying. Also, when I go back so they can get the order right, they won't reheat my existing food or anything. They just add what they forgot. So when I get home, half my food is hot and the other half is cold. Also, there is outdoor seating, but no heaters. The parking lot is pretty horrible as well. I ordered today via postmates since the location is down the street and the food delivers quickly. We submitted our order and called the vendor since postmates does not allow order notes. I wanted to change the black beans to pinto beans in my cheese enchilada order and there is also no option to select salsas. The lady who answered advised me she would make the change for my order to ensure my request is fulfilled as it would be no problem. Note, if they declined I would have just canceled the order and placed it somewhere else as I understand they can get busy. Be prepared to wait in line! This place is located in a very small plaza, so parking is limited especially if its busy. I got to try some of their fish tacos and potato tacos which were bomb! The service is always pleasant, I called in an order for pick up and this young man (Blanco) helped me out with all my questions, he was very helpful and nice. I tried Spanglish Carne Asada breakfast burrito in April 2024. I couldn't wait to eat here again. They never miss on the cafe de olla. However, when ordering through delivery, I never get salsa and I forget that I may have to add a note. Even though I think it should be automatically put in. Today's burrito the "carne asada" was very tough, chewy and fatty. I'm super disappointed. Last week's burrito had pico de gallo and potatoes. So, I'm unsure of how it's supposed to be made now. Ordered on a Sunday night at the window and waited about 20 minutes for our food. I wish there was an option to give half stars because this was more of a 3.5 for me rather than a 3 star review. WINNER: - Potato Crunchy Taco: everyone was a fan of this taco! The crunchy taco shell was delicious as was the fluffy potato inside. There was also ample sour cream and cheese to compliment all the flavors. Other items ordered: - Asada Taco: this was extremely underwhelming. I got 6-7 blocks of meat and there was nothing else in the taco. It didn't have much taste. The meat was also dry. - Grilled Fish Taco: we actually ordered the grilled shrimp taco ($3.35) but we were given the grilled fish taco ($2.85) instead and we were also charged for the shrimp taco. We didn't realize this until we got home unfortunately. Nonetheless, I did appreciate that it was topped with an avocado. It had a nice char, but I didn't think it was anything to write home about. I would probably only come back for the potato crunchy taco, however the tacos aren't cheap here. Took a quick trip to the beach last week and was craving Mexican food. I only recently found out about Spanglish Kitchen from my brother and I have not been disappointed. His go to order is the Carnitas Torta, which is now mine. The meat is so moist and flavorful, and is served with fresh chips and a pepper. I was STUFFED after eating this torta and I will happily order it again. It has avocados in there, which is always a plus. My biggest recommendation is to call ahead to order. Their parking lot is tiny, which can be an inconvenience at peak times. Call ahead 20 minutes to get your food once you get there and avoid the crowds. Super good. There was a line when we went on a Thursday around lunch time. Parking can get pretty tight and the traffic on the main road nearby can get kinda spooky. Heard people get honked at like twice while we were waiting, so be careful when exiting and entering! We got the carne asada breakfast burrito with avocado inside. LOVED the gooey, plentiful amount of cheese and the creaminess of the avocado (they do not skimp out on the fillings). Everything was fresh and the carne asada was moist and juicy with flavor. I picked up a large burrito and an assortment of tacos for lunch. The chicken, the pastor and the asada were very good. The best one of the bunch was the shrimp taco: fresh and crispy. The sauces that come with it are spicy specially the habanero one but complement the tacos well. The burrito is a little bit on the fatty side but still good. Really like the breakfast burritos here. Whether it is after along Saturday morning run, or just waiting after I drop my kids off at Chinese school, this place is great! I've tried most of the breakfast burritos, but surprisingly the chicken is the best. I now just call ahead and within 10 minutes it's ready for pickup. Should have sorted and read the more recent reviews. Seems the quality has gone down recently. First they NO longer have $1 tacos on tuesday. The salsas aren't tasty or spicy. They must roast their peppers so it just has a smoky flavor. All of the tacos were dry and lacking in flavor. The carnitas taco was too salty. The crispy potato taco doesn't have much flavor, and they used raw napa cabbage for the topping. The tacos are pretty small and not satifying. I will try and make this short and to the point. Having been in the meat industry for 25 years, you guys may be able to fool the vast majority of customers, but I am not one. Trying to sell beef chuck aka beef shoulder meat as carne asada in your burritos is false advertising and crooked minded. There are 3 cuts of meat that are supposed to be used when claiming its carne asada. The owner can reach out to me so I may educate them. Using tough chewy bland cuts of chuck meat that is loaded with gristle and sinew is NOT Carne asada. That burrito was absolutely disgusting and I feel like I was ripped off. Spanglish, I am speaking on behalf of all customers, please make this right. Your prices are constantly going up while the quality shoots down. I have pictures of the cheap, low grade meat that I had to spit out because I could not chew through the chunks of gristle and sinew. If you don't know what cuts to use, I can assist. The walk in line at Baja Cali (Valley Blvd) is 15 people deep and drive through line spilling out to the street. You're cold hungry and getting more and more inpatient. You're in the walk in line and think 'eff this crowd - how hard is it to find a good ceviche, aguachiles, or fish taco in town?' If only there wasn't a wait for customers not trying to get in on that $1 meat taco Thursday.... Spanglish kitchen it is. Goods reviews, avo in their shrimp/fish tacos, ceviche and soups on their menu. Today was just not my day. Ceviche is seasonal here, it's not in season. It's 7PM and they ran out of chicken soup (pozole is only served on weekends). I ordered the fish taco - $3ish is a steal when they include avocado. Unfortunately while you might get away with a soso asada or chicken taco, a poorly done fish taco is so unforgiving! The Spanglish fish taco's meat is thin, the fried fish batter is heavy and thick - almost 50% of the fish itself! It tastes heavily of the oil they fried it in. I would love to come back for anything else on the menu - the photos look bomb.com. Sure, maybe they don't specialize in fish tacos. However, with Baja Cali (both Vally Blvd and Main St locations) only a 5 min drive away - the taco competition is fierce and coming back to Spanglish Kitchen is not the top of my priorities. read more

I ordered the Shrimp Salad for the first time through Door Dash. They give you very little lettuce., mostly long leaf cabbage (yuck) tiny pieces of tomatoes (disappointed), two kernels of corn (I had to look for them) five grilled shrimp, red onion (small amount) and a lime dressing which was good but not enough. Overall, the salad was disappointing. They try to cover it up by putting in a lot of cabbage. They need a lot more corn, bigger pieces of tomato, lettuce, not so much cabbage.
