I have been bringing my cars for oil changes and car washes for years to Sparkling Image at the corner of Gosford and White Lane and the service has gotten better over the years. Everyone here work hard from those that do the oil service to those that wash the cars. It is conveniently located with a McDonald's restaurant and gas station next door and a taco truck nearby. My husband took my car to get its oil changed and they broke my car. First they stripped the oil plug and then blamed the previous oil place for it. Which I know is not true, my car was completely fine before I went here. Then when they told my husband they were finished the check engine light came on saying stop engine oil pressure low. The guy looked at it again and then said it was the previous oil places fault for using the wrong oil filter and having debris in the filter. They can't fix it and now I can't even drive it! On July 24th, 2025 at 13:51pm I took my 2011 Dodge Charger for an oil change to Sparkling Image Express Oil Change at 7991 White Lane, Bakersfield, CA 93309. The car had no oil leaks at this point. On Sunday July 27th, I drove 149 miles to Pismo, CA for a day trip. Upon arrival when I exited the freeway on Hwy 1 my car started smoking from the hood. My dad & brother checked my car as soon as I arrived at their house & checked my oil & under my car. They found my car severely leaking & that there was less than a quart of oil remaining. The entire underside of the car & backside up the trunk was covered in oil. Completely saturated & dripping. I was not comfortable driving it at that point & immediately called Sparkling Image Express Oil Change to explain the details & ask what I should do next. I was advised by the Store Manager Bernie to stop at the nearest gas station to add more 5w20 high mileage oil & to drive back to their shop to check the issue. The next morning I did exactly that. My dad topped off my oil with 3 quarts & I drove back home to Bakersfield to the Sparkling Image as they requested. I arrived at Sparkling Image Express Oil Change on July 28th at 12:00pm where Bernie met me to assess the issue. He confirmed that the filter was faulty causing the leak and mess all over the car. He fixed the filter made notes in the receipt that the filter was faulty & why the car dropped nearly all the oil. I left & continued driving my car to and from work for the next few days. On August 1st I could immediately see that my car left a puddle of fresh oil on the ground. My entire driveway & the street in front of my house has several stains from the dropped oil. I called my brother who is a lube technician at another shop. He looked over my car the morning of August 2nd 2025 & confirmed the leak was from my rear main seal & that I needed to immediately go back to Sparkling image. He explained that the lack of oil from my drive to Pismo from the faulty filter caused damage to the rear main seal & stress on my car's engine. I took my car back to Sparkling image on August 2nd at 14:08pm to make a complaint & have the issue fixed. Aldolfo, who was responsible for the initial oil change, confirmed that the leak was from the rear main seal validating what my brother said. Aldolfo insisted that the issue was regular wear and tear, however there was no leak until the faulty filter issue. Aldolfo told me I had to take my car to a mechanic to make a report. On August 3, 2025, I took the car to SoCal's Car Care at 2415 Chester Ave, Bakersfield CA, 93301. Carlos, the owner, inspected my vehicle & confirmed the rear main seal damage. He confirmed that this type of damage can happen from lack of oil, especially as low as mine ran. His recommendation is for the rear main seal to be repaired at the least, & for an engine replacement at the most. From this point, I contacted Aldolfo with the mechanics findings. Aldolfo then called me back yesterday after visiting the mechanic's shop & closed the issue saying it is not their fault & they will not be repairing the damage they caused. I'm pushing this issue further because I have the mechanics report, my brother Nick who is a lube technician, and my coworker June who is also a mechanic, all confirming that the damage is because of the faulty filter & lack of oil after. They all have said I should not have been advised to drive home even if I refilled the oil, that the lack of pressure was further damaging to my engine. I have all receipts with confirmation of the faulty filter, days I visited Sparkling Image to report damages, the mechanics report as well as photos & videos of the messes and damage to my car. read more

I paid about $45 and the car wasn't clean . I could have done a better job myself at the Cruz thru. They hardly vacuumed the floor it looked like and they missed an obvious cookie laying on the ground of the car. I would not waste my money on a car wash from here ever again. Literally could have done a better job myself. Was very disappointed and felt very ripped off to say the least. I was also a gloomy day and there were not many other customers there so it wasn't that they were busy. They just sucked. This was the location on Wible. I think the white lane one is better but still too pricey for what it is. read more

I came in for oil change and I was happy when was shown that my air filters did not need replacement. It made me happy because then felt like I wasn't going to get upsold on items I didn't need to have replaced. Came in on Sunday morning for the oil change which came with a free car wash. Car wash was exterior only, but for free I was ok with that. Bernie and David were super friendly and helpful. Thank you :-) read more

Great service and it was super quick. Bernie was super helpful. Originally went in for oil change but ended up getting a full service for my car which u needed since I was behind on keeping up with that. Bernie explained it and the price wasn't too bad either + Bernie hooked it up with a little discount. + got a free wash that was needed. Might sign up for a membership soon read more

I have been coming to Mobile One Lube Express off an on for a few years. I have taken a Ford Explorer, Ford Fiesta, Nissan Frontier, and Fiat 500c here without any problem with either vehicle. Generally speaking the service is fast (depends on the day/time) and a free car wash is included with an oil change. They are a little pricey, but with the car wash & convenience I'd say it evens out. Staff is always friendly and helpful. read more

For as long as I can remember this car wash/oil change location offered a free full wash with an oil change. This goes back to when it was a jiffy lube. Well guess what, no more. They now offer a free outside wash. They think that we are ignorant and don't look at other places. They are certainly not the cheapest place to get oil changes in Bakersfield. In fact you can score a cheaper service at a couple dealers. The only thing that separated them from the "other guys" was that they offered a free full car wash. That sales advantage was and is a huge reason that they were constantly busy. Oh well I'm done I have located two places already that will be more than happy to service my auto. Oh buy the way when I confronted the manager with my concerns, he told me he would give me the full car wash for an extra $15.00. NO THANKS. read more

Went in for an oil change and per usual, they ask about your filters and if you'd like them to be changed. I usually change them myself and planned to do so after my oil change. However, one of the workers comes in asking if I'd like them to be replaced and I told her no simply because I change them myself. But then she comes back again with the engine filter in her hand and starts talking Spanish when I never spoke to her in Spanish to begin with so I'm not sure why she assumed I was Spanish speaking. In an angry way she starts saying "look it's dirty! This has not been changed and you said you changed it! You don't want to change it?!" And when I said no thank you, she walked out shaking her head. Very rude. Her name was Cristina. Wont be going back. read more

Came to this place for my first time today for my oil change. I have an SUV and I paid $95 for it. I wasn't too fond of it because I think it's a bit much for it. Anyways the oil change was done in about 3-5 minutes, I don't know if I should be worried or not about it because it was done so quick. The workers were arguin within each other about the miscommunication between them. The one greeter mentioned or didn't mention to the workers what we did authorize so one began taking off a windshield wiper, the other took off an air filter, so this got them upset that they were doing more work than we agreed to. All around it was just bad, since I was hearing them because I stayed in the car with my baby. read more

Just an observation - I have typically gone to Mobile-One for the service and the recommendation of service that I might need because I really don't have the a lot of knowledge about cars. When I came today the only thing I was asked about was an air filter. Reading the notes on my receipt was were I gather that there might be some additional services needed. Maybe can go back providing input on service needs. read more
